Monday
Brady and Arianna were in bed post-lovemaking. Arianna brought up their wedding plans and how people thought she was rushing things because of Nicole. Brady decided to write Nicole a bigger check to get her to leave town — that way, Arianna could spend less time fretting and more time appreciating him.
Chloe told Nicole about Carly moving in with her and Daniel. Nicole was stunned and thought Chloe needed a plan. What if Carly was after Daniel? Chloe didn't think she was and wondered why Nicole returned to Salem. She assumed it was for Brady. Nicole said Arianna hadn't married Brady yet and swore he really wanted her. Arianna interrupted, and Chloe split. Arianna handed Nicole the check, noting Brady wanted her to start over anywhere but Salem. Nicole asked when Arianna and Brady's wedding was. Arianna said they'd decided not to rush it. "Good. Brady took my advice," retorted Nicole. Arianna swore it was her idea, told Nicole not to mess with her and urged her to take the check and leave town. Hope remembered back to seeing Carly and Bo kissing, when she heard her nemesis in the foyer. Hope told Carly she couldn't believe things had gotten so bad that she didn't even know how ill Kimberly was. Carly pointed out that Bo had called Hope, but she didn't return his messages. The two got into it. Carly went on about how much Bo missed Ciara. Hope countered that she didn't want her daughter around a murderer. Carly accused Hope of throwing her marriage away; Hope said Carly should be grateful she and Bo separated or she'd never have had a shot at him. Carly agreed, but said Bo was with her now. Hope mentioned losing Zack and how Bo retreated into the past when things got bad. She had to go through some bad times alone. "What about Patrick?" asked Carly. Stunned, Hope accused Carly of killing her own marriage and Hope's. She wondered if Carly would get restless with Bo. Carly insisted she and Bo were together for good and left. After Carly left, Hope, who had a splitting headache, headed up to bed. Later, Carly was at Daniel's apartment, when Chloe came home. She told Carly that Daniel gave her his keys and promised to stay out of Chloe's way.
Justin walked into the Cheatin' Heart, where Adrienne was tending bar. He gave her some papers regarding the sale of the pub. Justin was surprised Adrienne wasn't staying in town to run the place. Soon, the pair were playing pool and talking. Adrienne said she thought Justin came to Salem to defend Daniel, but he really wanted to play house with Hope. Adrienne walked to the bar and asked where to sign the papers. Justin swore there was never anything between him and Hope. Adrienne said it was only because Hope still loved Bo. After Justin left, Adrienne heard something and rushed outside. She found Justin unconscious and cried out.
When Stefano told Sami that EJ had something to tell her, EJ sidestepped. Sami announced Will wanted to move into Stefano's “House of Frankenstein" and said she didn't trust Kate. Stefano noted the person Sami shouldn't trust was EJ. Sami was perplexed. Stefano said he had a short film he wanted Sami to watch. EJ flashed back to Anna's DVD confession. He took Sami into the foyer and swore he didn't know what was on the DVD. Sami asked EJ to talk to Stefano about Will and left. EJ rejoined Stefano and asked him to keep the truth about the kidnapping between them. Stefano admitted he didn't like being played for a fool, but applauded his son for making Sami believe in him. "You are a true DiMera," noted Stefano, handing EJ the DVD. EJ realized it was just a gesture, and there were copies. Stefano said this was over. There was just one final condition....
Sami told Brady that Will wanted to move in with Kate, but that EJ would take care of it. Brady was stunned Sami was turning to EJ. Sami swore EJ had changed. Brady mentioned EJ staying at Sami's and how it was affecting things with Rafe. He insisted EJ would never change and that Sami would never break his connection to Stefano. When Brady asked why Will was moving out, Sami said it was because EJ was living at her place. Brady told her to “throw the bum out." Brady wondered if EJ might be making another play for Sami and noted he was the same goon who ruined his dad's life and beat him up.
Tuesday
Stefano agreed to reconcile with EJ, but he had one condition. He noted the most important thing to him is family. Hence, he wanted Johnny and Sydney back in his home within the hour. EJ hemmed and hawed about yanking his kids from Sami. Stefano told him to come up with something, noting his deadline was nonnegotiable.
Chloe said it was fine that Carly was staying with her and Daniel. Daniel emerged carrying a box of Chloe's things. She started to go through it; then, went off with Carly. Daniel found a baby outfit in the box. Carly came back and told Daniel she couldn't do this. Daniel said they'd talk about it later and suggested she check on patients. After Carly left, Daniel showed Chloe the baby clothes. Chloe admitted buying them when she thought she was pregnant and couldn't return them. Daniel confronted Chloe about not really being fine with Carly living there. Chloe admitted she wasn't. "I hate that she gave you a child and I can't," cried Chloe. Daniel hugged Chloe, insisting she was everything he wanted in a woman. Chloe said she wanted Daniel to have a relationship with Melanie, but didn't like him getting sucked back into Carly's life. Daniel vowed nothing would come between him and Chloe.
Madeline and Chad discussed Charles's condition. When Chad left to talk to his father's doctor, Madeline flashed back to seeing Kate earlier. Meanwhile, Philip found Adrienne over Justin's body outside the Cheatin' Heart. Soon, Justin was being wheeled into the hospital, as Chad watched. Nathan tended to Justin. Philip told Roman he saw the guy who attacked Justin from a distance. Chad returned to Madeline and reported Justin had been attacked just like his father, which was strange. Madeline approached Roman with Chad's observation. Chad told Madeline something else seemed strange and it had to do with her. Carly told Adrienne she'd looked in on Justin. Adrienne apologized for being rude to her earlier. They chitchatted about resuming their old friendship. Nathan caught up with Carly and told her he was moving on from Melanie with Stephanie. Carly phoned Daniel to say she decided she'd be moving into Steve and Kayla's apartment with Adrienne, which was across the hall from his place. Daniel thought it was a good solution. He hung up and cuddled with Chloe. Daniel jumped up when he started seeing double, but told Chloe it was nothing. Later, Justin was sitting up in bed. Adrienne told him about the mugging and promised to stay by his side. Justin said she didn't need to. Adrienne walked out. Nathan went to update Adrienne on Justin's condition. Adrienne said he wasn't her husband anymore.
Melanie told Steph she was returning to the nursing program. Steph thought it was a bad idea. Melanie handed her admission form to a nurse and told Steph where she worked was none of Steph's business. Later, Steph arrived at Maggie's to talk to Melanie. She noted that if Melanie went back to nursing school, she'd force Nathan to interact with her every day. She noted that Melanie already had Philip. Melanie was perturbed. She deduced that Steph and Nathan had reconciled and that's why she was being so manipulative. She also figured out Steph read her letter to Nathan. Steph admitted she had. Philip listened outside as they discussed the letter.
Sami ran into Kate at the Java Café and called her "a manipulative witch," blaming her for Will's decision to move into the DiMera mansion. Sami told Kate she'd soon be out of the mansion, since EJ was kicking Stefano out. Kate roared, noting Sami had underestimated Stefano. Later, EJ met with Sami and dropped his bombshell: his father wanted to see Johnny and Sydney. Sami flipped. EJ pled his father's case, noting he wanted to take the kids to him tonight. Sami refused. She thought EJ had changed, but if he was serious about this, anything between them was over. EJ insisted he was sincere about changing. If that was true, Sami suggested something else was going on. EJ admitted she was right and she had a right to know what it was. Meanwhile, Kate and Stefano toasted Sydney and Johnny's impending return to the mansion. Stefano sensed something was amiss with Kate. Kate revealed she'd seen Madeline earlier. Stefano didn't want her fretting about anything right now.
Wednesday
Roman told Rafe he was free to go. Justin was attacked like Charles and Rafe was at the station all day, so he had an alibi. Before Rafe left, Roman gave him some advice on Sami: get her to make EJ leave her apartment. Rafe said he'd already tried. Arianna arrived and she and Rafe headed to the Cheatin' Heart. They drank beers and discussed their love lives. Arianna said she and Brady had decided not to rush into marriage, but were good, even though Nicole was lurking around. Arianna asked Rafe about Sami. Rafe insisted they were over. She asked if Rafe minded Sami playing house with EJ. Rafe did, noting he tried everything he could to fix things, to no avail. Arianna had an idea. Rafe needed to find out who Anna was working with when she kidnapped Sydney. That's what drove Sami and Rafe apart and solving that case would bring them back together.
Philip stood outside Maggie's house, listening to Stephanie talk to Melanie about the letter she wrote to Nathan on their wedding day. Philip came in and handed Melanie flowers. Steph made a hasty retreat. Philip asked why Steph was there. Melanie sidestepped; Philip pressed. Melanie finally admitted that Steph thought she might still have feelings for Nathan. Melanie swore she didn't and only loved Philip. She remembered their wedding and how he was there for her when she got shot. They kissed. Later, the pair were making out on their bed. After making love, Melanie slept, while Philip sat and stared. He thought back to Steph's words about the letter.
Steph arrived at the pub, while chatting on the phone with Nathan. They agreed to meet there. She talked to Roman about Kimberly, Bo and the bone marrow transplant. Soon, Nathan walked in and he and Steph pondered what to do tonight. Steph told Nathan she knew he wasn't totally over his feelings for Melanie, but promised she could make him forget her. Then, they kissed.
Kate walked into the DiMera living room and told Stefano Johnny and Sydney's rooms were all ready. Stefano seemed concerned that EJ hadn't brought the children there yet, noting there was a lot at stake. "What exactly do you have on EJ?" asked Kate. Stefano wouldn't say. Kate noted that Sami might be giving EJ a hard time. Stefano wouldn't hear of it. Kate gave him the phone and told him to call EJ. At Sami's, EJ was ready to confess why he wanted Sydney and Johnny to visit Stefano. Sami said she'd figured it out. EJ was a DiMera and that would never change. EJ scampered and concocted an excuse. Stefano was sick. There were complications with his diabetes. EJ got Stefano's call, warning him that his time was up. Either EJ got the kids there pronto or he was calling the authorities. Sami still refused to let the kids go. EJ put his foot down. Tonight was his night according to their custody agreement, so he could take the kids wherever he wanted. Sami relented, but insisted on going along.
Soon, Sami, EJ, Johnny and Sydney were at the door of the mansion. Kate welcomed them. Sami saw Stefano and noted that he didn't look sick. He said he wasn't. EJ noted that he mentioned Stefano's diabetes problems. Sami and Kate took the children upstairs, while EJ remained downstairs with Stefano, who insisted the kids spend the night there. Sami returned with Kate, as they discussed the situation with Will. Kate insisted Will came to her about moving in and assured he'd make amends with Sami. Sami told Stefano it was time to take Sydney and Johnny home. Stefano announced the tykes were spending the night. Sami was against the idea. EJ promised to stay there and bring the kids back to her in the morning. Sami relented and said goodbye to Sydney. Then, Kate showed her to the door. Sami rambled about Stefano being wrong if he thought he could take her children away from her. Kate responded by shutting the door in her face. As Sami walked off, Stefano smiled. He told Sydney that now that their family was reunited they were going to have a celebration.
Thursday
Melanie was giddy as she prepared to head off for her first day back at the hospital. Philip not so much. "We have some unfinished business to discuss. You and Nathan," he sneered. Melanie though they'd settled that last night. She swore she really did love her new hubby; then left. Meanwhile, Nathan and Stephanie cuddled and kissed in bed post lovemaking.
Daniel filled Chloe in on the latest about Carly. She'd be moving across the hall with Adrienne, where he'd be able to keep an eye on her. Later, Chloe ran into Philip. Chloe went on about the Carly situation. Philip cut her off. He admitted having a lot on his mind and told Chloe about overhearing Stephanie and Melanie talking about the letter she wrote to Nathan. He couldn't believe Melanie might have feelings for another man. Chloe said the letter was in the past and that Philip shouldn't dwell on it. She urged Philip to trust that Melanie loved him.
Carly found Adrienne at the Cheatin' Heart. Adrienne gave her the spare key to Steve and Kayla's apartment. Carly planned to move in pronto. Adrienne reminisced about the good old days with Justin, but noted they'd both changed and those days were over. "Are they really?" asked Carly, noting she could see how conflicted Adrienne was about her divorce. She urged her to take a chance with Justin, before it was too late.
Hope and Ciara chatted on the phone with Justin. Later, Hope sat at Justin's hospital bedside. He assured her he was fine except for a headache. Hope went to fetch his release papers. Later, she took out her recorder and took Justin's statement regarding his mugging. He didn't remember much. Justin was anxious to get back to his office. Hope asked him to stay and they talked. She explained how worried Adrienne was when she found Justin on the ground. Justin noted there was nothing between them anymore. Justin left, just as Adrienne arrived looking for him. Hope apologized for lying to Adrienne to get her to return to Salem, admitting it was a big mistake.
Arianna was excited that Brady arranged an interview for her with Andrew, a producer at Titan TV. Brady mentioned not being able to find the check he wrote Nicole. Arianna said she gave it to Nicole and said it was from both of them. "I felt that she should know we are a team," noted Arianna. Brady wondered why Arianna did this behind his back. Arianna tried to explain, going on about how Nicole seemed to think she was just a diversion for Brady. Brady swore he wasn't going to let Nicole come between them. If Arianna thought he was, they had a problem.
Nicole made phone calls and tried to set up job interviews to no avail. When anyone heard her name, they cut her off. Brady arrived and wondered what Nicole was doing, since she was supposed to be leaving town. Nicole handed Brady his check back, saying Salem was her home. She started talking about how Brady had always helped her and their connection. She understood why Arianna felt so insecure. Nicole inched closer to Brady as she talked about her feelings for him. Brady pushed Nicole away and handed the check back to her.
Melanie arrived at the hospital and asked Maxine if Nathan was on duty. Maxine noted it was his day off. Daniel overheard and wondered what was going on. Melanie noted that Philip overheard an argument between her and Steph about Nathan. Melanie admitted lying when she told her husband she didn't feelings for Nathan. Later, Maxine sent Melanie to check on a patient. Melanie turned to get his chart just as Nathan arrived. As fate would have it, Philip turned up at the same moment and watched it all.
Daniel arrived home to find Carly packed and ready to go. He nearly tripped over her suitcases and mentioned his troubled eyes. Carly started to test them, when Chloe arrived.
Arianna met reporter Cece Chavez, who went on about how impressed Andrew was with her interview. Nicole interrupted. Cece walked away and phoned her cameraman, telling him to get there on the double. When he arrived, she approached Nicole and started questioning her about her pardon from the governor. Nicole fumed and accused Arianna of setting her up. Brady walked in and shooed Cece away. Nicole blamed Arianna for what went down.
Friday
Sami talked to Allie about how much they missed Johnny and Sydney last night, but that they'd be picking them up soon. Sami got a call, said it wasn't a good time, and hung up, when Rafe approached. She took him aside and explained Lucas had called, said he'd be traveling this summer, and wanted Allie for two weeks. Rafe asked about Sydney. Sami said the toddler and Johnny spent the night at the DiMera mansion. Rafe was stunned. Sami explained about Stefano being ill and how EJ wanted the kids to spend time with him. Rafe said EJ manipulated Sami. Sami went off about being a woman of fortitude and determination. She wouldn't be criticized by Rafe. Soon, the duo were admitting they missed each other, and Sami moved in for a kiss. Rafe backed away. He felt like an outsider since Sami was back in EJ's world. Sami swore he wasn't. Rafe left. Sami got teary-eyed.
Stefano went on about how happy he was that Johnny and Sydney would soon be living at the mansion full-time. EJ cautioned that Sami would never agree to it. Stefano told EJ to make it happen or he'd tell the authorities EJ was responsible for Sydney's kidnapping. EJ didn't want to hurt Sami any more and noted what a great mother she was. A lightbulb went off in Stefano's head. "My God. You really are in love with her," said Stefano, calling his son "an idiot." "I certainly don't deserve her, but I do love her," admitted EJ. Stefano noted that if he went to the authorities, Sami would be furious with him. EJ retorted that Sami would then make sure neither him nor Stefano ever saw the kids again. Stefano insisted EJ convince Sami to move in with them. EJ made Stefano promise not to breathe a word about the kidnapping to Sami and he agreed. EJ got a business call and left. He ended up running into Rafe. Rafe brought of Stefano being sick, noting he'd had diabetes for while. Rafe suspected something else was going on. Sami arrived at the DiMera mansion to pick up Johnny and Sydney. Stefano said the children were upstairs saying goodbye to Will. He asked about Sami and EJ bonding and announced he had something he wanted to say to Sami.
Philip eavesdropped as Melanie told Nathan while she might have had feelings for him when she married Philip, things had changed. "I love my husband. He's the best," she swore. Nathan said they'd both moved on; then, the pair went off to tend to a patient. Suddenly, Mrs. Martin complained of pain and started to flatline. Code blue! Maxine rushed in, and Nathan tried to revive the woman to no avail. Nathan pronounced her dead. Later, Nathan sat upset in the locker room, where Melanie reached out to him.
Brady put a stop to Cece's interview with Nicole. Nicole accused Arianna of setting her up. Arianna denied it. Brady told Nicole to leave Arianna alone and stop pulling them both into her drama. After he and Arianna left, Cece returned to Nicole, noting she'd never gotten the chance to give her side of the story. Nicole agreed to do the interview. Soon, Nicole was recounting all about losing her baby and taking Sami's so she could give EJ his own child. She did it all for love. After the interview Cece got a call and learned she and her show were moving to New York. Meanwhile, Brady ended up at the Cheatin' Heart with Philip, who told him he had doubts about Melanie, because of Nathan. He knew he had to make a decision about whether or not to trust his wife. Brady wondered what it would be. Philip said Melanie made him happier than he'd ever been in his life. Brady left, and Philip got a call about Cece's. He had the bartender turn on the TV and watched Nicole's sob story. Then, he phoned Nicole and summoned her to meet him. Philip told Nicole the phone lines at Titan TV lit up when she was on the air and their web site was full of mail about her. He offered Nicole the roving reporter job, and she accepted.
Arianna turned up at the Kiriakis mansion to apologize to Brady for letting Nicole get to her. She promised to stay away from her. Soon, Arianna got a call and learned she got the job at Titan TV. She told Brady she would be the production assistant to the roving reporter. Brady congratulated her, noting she'd love working with Cece.
