Monday
Stefano found Lexie at the hospital and begged for help. Lexie chastised him for what he did to Philip. Stefano denied it and told her he'd been poisoned. Lexie realized something was very wrong. She asked if Stefano knew what he was poisoned with. Stefano didn't, but he knew who did: Victor. Stefano wanted Lexie to call the police. Lexie asked about Stefano's systems. Lexie decided to get another doctor for her father. She was furious he'd started this war, noting it didn't honor Tony's memory. Lexie returned to tell Stefano he'd been assigned a doctor, but he was unconscious. When Stefano awakened, Lexie assured him he wasn't going to die. Stefano asked to talk to EJ.
Outside the pub, Brady chastised EJ for what the DiMera thugs did to him and Philip. Inside, Victor and Nicole bickered. Victor told Nicole that her and EJ's wedding was a charade to coverup the hit on Philip. Nicole spotted Brady and EJ outside and ran to stop their spatting. She told EJ that Victor was inside. EJ went to talk to him. Nicole asked about the bruises on Brady's face. EJ told Victor he was sorry about what happened to Philip. "That he survived?" retorted Victor, noting EJ should save his worry for Stefano. Brady insisted Nicole didn't want t o know what happened to his face or that her daughter's father had so much blood on his hands. Victor went on about the Trojan War and the Greeks winning, because they never stopped fighting. Victor left. EJ phoned Stefano and left a message. Then, he called a henchman to find his father. Brady went on about Nicole losing her baby and her desperation to build a family. Did she go through all that to have a guy like EJ as Sydney's father? Brady wished Nicole good luck with her life and split. EJ got a call from Lexie, informing him Stefano was in the hospital. EJ and Nicole raced off. Victor questioned Brady about his conversation with Nicole. Brady said he'd told her goodbye. Brady questioned Victor about his talk with EJ. Victor said he could fix it so EJ never smiled again.
Mia told Dr. Baker she saw her baby, but didn't feel anything. Baker explained the reason: Sydney wasn't her child. He noted that Mia didn't feel emotionally connected to Sydney, because she gave her up and never bonded with her. Mia worried about Sydney growing up with a bunch of murderers. Dr. Baker warned the DiMeras were dangerous, and Mia should never cross them. Mia told Baker about another baby that she was drawn to. Baker wondered who the tyke was. Later, Mia showed up to see Will. She asked if he'd talked with Sami about her babysitting Grace."You didn't come to see me?" asked Will. Will invited Mia to go to the pub. Mia said no. Will noted Grace would be there. Mia changed her mind. Will joked about using his little sister as date bait. At the pub, Will handed Grace to a happy Mia. Will commented about Grace's real mom not caring about her and giving her up. Mia disagreed. Giving Grace up was probably the hardest thing her mother ever did.
Lexie explained Stefano's belief he'd been poisoned to EJ and Nicole. EJ went to speak to Stefano and recounted his conversation with Victor, insisting he wasn't going to get away with this. Baker happened upon Nicole and asked if Mia called her. Baker reiterated how Mia said she felt no connection to Sydney and that he thought she was no longer a threat to Nicole, thanks to him. Nicole thanked him, grudgingly. Lexie arrived at Stefano's room and announced he wasn't poisoned, but there was something seriously wrong with him.
"I just want to tell you what you mean to me before it's too late," Sami announced to Rafe at the airport. Rafe wasn't interested. Sami went on about tracking Rafe down and how the least he could do was listen to her. Rafe said it wasn't going to change anything. He was leaving town. The two of them just didn't work. He told Sami how much Grace meant to him and that he'd laid out a plan to keep her safe, but she went ahead and told EJ he was her father. Sami said she didn't tell EJ and explained about EJ putting a hit on Philip. Rafe wasn't surprised and was glad Sami finally saw EJ for who he really is. Sami and Rafe made up. Sami suggested heading to her place. Rafe said he was still going to New York, because he wanted to be a bigger part of Sami's life than she was ready for. Rafe turned to board his plane, but Sami threw herself at him, insisting she wasn't letting him go.
Tuesday
Lexie informed Stefano he wasn't poisoned, but something was seriously wrong: he has type II diabetes. Stefano pooh-poohed it. Lexie was annoyed and left to start his admitting process. Stefano asked EJ to go after her. Alone, Stefano ripped off his bandage and left. Later, Stefano arrived at the mansion and removed a box from the safe. EJ came in and lectured him about leaving the hospital. Stefano said he couldn't be a patient there under the circumstances. He was leaving town and would return when he was "in fighting shape." Stefano said he'd take care of himself, and EJ would to take care of the Kiriakis family. Stefano got off the phone and told EJ everything was arranged. Stefano noted he had no qualms about leaving EJ in charge. He'd proven himself. EJ wondered how Stefano was going to get through security, since Bo had his passport and every airport would be looking for him. Stefano said someone who resembled him would go through security for him. Stefano left to pack, noting EJ was now in control. Later, Stefano arrived at the airport. He phoned EJ and reported things were going well, as a man followed him.
A cop stopped Stephanie, when she headed into Philip's hospital room, wanting to see her ID. Steph entered and told Philip she couldn't take any of this.20Philip admitted he was to blame for putting Steph's life in danger. Steph said it was her choice to be with him. Lexie walked in, and Philip ordered her to leave. He didn't want a DiMera as his doctor. Lexie left. Steph went on about Tony dying, Philip almost dying and now hating Lexie. "When does it end?" she asked. Steph left and apologized to Lexie for Philip's attitude. Lexie reported that Philip was doing well. She wondered what Steph would do when he was released and noted the Kiriakis and DiMera families carried a lot of baggage. Lexie got a call and had to go. Steph returned to Philip's room, made a call and asked for help. Then, she crawled into bed with Philip, vowing to take care of both of them.
Sami told Rafe she wanted him in her life. Rafe wasn't convinced as they called his flight to board. Sami went on about something special happening between them in the safe house. Rafe said Sami's life was in Salem. He was leaving. Sami pulled out all the stops, telling Rafe she'd never met anyone like him, nor felt about anyone the way she felt about him. "I would do just about anything to stop you from getting on that plane," she swore. Rafe turned to board his plane and walked off. Moments later, Rafe came back. He missed his flight. Sami asked if he was waiting for the next one. Rafe went on about staying in Salem with "this girl." He and Sami embraced; then, smooched. Sami suggeste d taking things back to her place. Later, the duo got hot and heavy in her apartment, as Sami ripped off Rafe's shirt.
Chelsea helped a busy Max tend to customers at the pub. Max picked up an envelope and told Chelsea it probably contained a rejection letter to his med school application. Turned out it was a letter acknowledging his application had been received. Chelsea assured his next letter would be one of acceptance from Salem U. Max said the letter wasn't from Salem. He'd applied to schools in Chicago, too. "What about us?" asked Chelsea. Max suggested Chelsea move to Chicago with him. Chelsea said she couldn't move. She just signed a lease on an apartment with Steph. Max mentioned Arianna was looking for an apartment. Arianna confirmed she'd be interested. Chelsea was annoyed Max didn't ask her before making this decision, but said he'd have to go if he got accepted. Max noted the best thing would be if he got into Salem U. Chelsea agreed to go with Max if he got accepted to Chicago, and they shared a kiss.
Wednesday
Things got hot and heavy between Sami and Rafe on the couch, when there was a knock at the door. Thinking it might be Will, Sami got up to answer it and found EJ there. Sami was annoyed and told EJ it wasn't a good time. Rafe walked off to take a phone call. Alone, Sami went off on EJ and told him to leave. EJ brought up Sami interrupting his wedding. She not only made a fool of herself, but almost ruined the most important day of his life. EJ asked why Sami was there. Sami said she didn't owe him an explanation. Rafe listened, as EJ said he thought Sami was having a hard time getting over him. "I am not in love with you," spat Sami, insisting what they had was gone. EJ called Sami's relationship with Rafe a rebound thing. EJ left, when Rafe returned. Rafe told Sami he wasn't taking the job in New York. Sami wanted to get back to where they left off. Rafe didn't. Sami realized he'd heard what EJ said. Rafe said he thought Sami was hoping EJ would leave Nicole at the altar and propose to her, when she went to tell him about Grace. Sami denied it. Rafe noted that EJ was under the impression Sami was still in love with him. "Why would he possibly think that?" he asked.
Chloe came by the hospital to see Philip, but was stopped by a guard. Brady intervened, and Chloe asked about his battered face. They discussed Philip's shooting and Nicole becoming a DiMera. Chloe confronted Brady about being is in love with Nicole. Brady denied it. Besides, he had bigger, more important things to concentrate on. Chloe freaked and begged him not to be like Victor. Brady assured her he wasn't going to shoot first and ask questions later. He wanted the investigation on Philip's shooting done by the book. Brady changed the subject and asked Chloe about her marriage to Lucas. Chloe said it was chaotic, but they loved each other. Brady hugged her and said he was headed to Titan. Chloe implored him not to do anything vengeful with Victor.
Hope got a call from Bo, reporting that the guy who shot Philip was in South America. Meanwhile, EJ phoned Nicole to report Stefano had gone away for a few days and no one could know. EJ left. Soon, Hope arrived at the mansion and asked where Stefano was. Nicole dodged. Hope wondered why Nicole and EJ weren't honeymooning. Nicole said they'd postponed it out of respect for Tony. Hope wondered why they didn't postpone the wedding, too. Nicole explained they needed a break from all the sadness. Hope questioned Nicole about Philip's shooting. Nicole told her to leave. Hope asked where EJ was, while Nicole tended to Sydney.
Hope warned Nicole about the evil DiMera family. "They will chew you up and spit you out, along with your daughter," she spat. Finally, Hope left. Nicole picked up Sydney and promised her everything would be fine. Later, EJ arrived. Nicole filled him in on Hope's visit. She swore she didn't tell her a thing. Nicole asked where Stefano went. EJ said he was off for medical treatment. EJ noted that they were alone and should take advantage of the opportunity. EJ went to lock the door. Nicole found the envelope addressed to Sami and asked EJ if he had a nice visit with his ex. EJ explained things away. Then, he picked up Nicole and carried her upstairs to the bedroom. As they started undressing and caressing, EJ told Nicole he loved her. Too bad he was envisioning Sami!
Mia and Will chatted at the Java Café. Will's friend Ted walked over and talked about their baseball team. Ted noticed Mia and asked where she was from. Mia explained she transferred from Salem West. Ted asked if she was on the cheerleading squad and noted that his friend used to talk about her all the time. Ted told Will that Mia was high school royalty. Then, he asked Mia if she knew Brad Winters. Mia swore she didn't. Ted left. Will wondered why Mia was so closed off and never wanted to talk about her past. Mia insisted she wasn't deliberately keeping things from him. She was just private. Besides, nothing that happened before she met Will mattered to her.
Thursday
EJ was in bed with Nicole, but fantasized about Sami. Nicole asked what was bothering him. EJ said it didn't concern her. EJ's cell rang, and he took the call, while Nicole checked on Sydney. Masi told EJ the job Stefano hired him to do was about to be finished. Nicole wandered downstairs with Sydney and handed her off to Mary, while EJ ordered Masi to stop whatever he had planned. The connection cut off, as Masi went on about completing the job. Nicole returned to the bedroom, and she and EJ resumed their antics. EJ's cell phone rang, again, but Nicole managed to keep him from going anywhere. Later, Nicole asked what EJ and Stefano were up to. EJ refused to explain. This was the way things were. Nicole either accepted it or their marriage would fail. Nicole realized there was something else distracting him: Sami! Nicole phoned Dr. Baker. Desperate to keep Sami and EJ from ever finding out Sydney was their baby, she ordered Baker to leave town. Baker hung up on her. Meanwhile, EJ talked to Stefano's portrait, noting Masi wouldn't be making any moves. Too bad EJ was wrong. Masi spoke to someone on the phone and gave them instructions to pick up an envelope on the pier and follow the instructions. Later, EJ checked his computer and learned he was right about Baker. There were quite a few skeletons in his closet.
Max asked Arianna if Chelsea had come back. She hadn't. Meanwhile, Chelsea was on the computer at the hospital. She searched med school applications trying to find out information for Max. "You are so busted!" cracked Melanie. Then, she ran over and tattled to Dr. Baker about an employee doing something unethical. Baker approached Chelsea and asked what she was doing. Melanie watched, called Max, and said Chelsea might have ruined his chances of getting into Salem U. med school. Chelsea told Baker she was just checking to see if her boyfriend had been accepted into med school and begged him not to tell her boss. Baker agreed. Max arrived and asked Chelsea what was going on. She dodged; then, realized Melanie must have called him. Later, Max and Chelsea arrived at the pub. Max insisted he wasn't upset Chelsea looked at his application. He was upset she felt she had to. He swore he wasn't leaving Salem. The pair kissed, when Chelsea's cell rang. Chelsea took the call and then gasped, "My mom was in an accident."
Sami and Rafe continued spatting. Rafe wondered if Sami was trying to make EJ jealous so he'd leave Nicole for her. Sami snapped. "If you really think that, then fine ... Get out," she barked. Then, she asked Rafe to stop. Rafe wondered what Sami would have done, if EJ had left Nicole at the altar and professed his love to her. He said the reason EJ thought Sami was in love with him was because she interrupted the wedding. Sami swore she wasn't and moved in on Rafe. Rafe backed off. "I'm not going to be your rebound guy," declared Rafe, calling Sami on liking EJ's attention. If Rafe seriously thought that, Sami said they had a "really big problem." Rafe left, just as Will walked in. He asked Sami if she and Rafe were getting back together. Sami didn't know. Outside, Rafe walked off steam, when he ran into Arianna. "I never thought I would see you again," she said, hugging him.
After booking a trip to Greece via her cell phone, Stephanie went into Philip's hospital room. He was grumpy. Philip wanted to get out of the hospital and go back to work. He had to take care of his enemies. Steph hated Philip being back in "revenge mode." "The DiMeras ordered a hit on me. Should I just forgive and forget? " he asked. Steph wanted Philip away from this pointless feuding and had a way to do it. She asked Philip to run away to Greece with her. Philip wasn't game. Melanie wheeled her cart into Philip's room bearing supper. Steph got a call and left. Melanie apologized to Philip for her part in the Kiriakis/DiMera feud. "I hope you kick their butts," noted Melanie. Philip said not everyone shared that sentiment. Steph overheard and tore up the travel brochures. Melanie left, and Steph returned. She told Philip she was okay with not going to Greece; then, got into bed with him.
Friday
Chloe found Will at the Java Café and they chitchatted about high school. The conversation turned to Sami. Will wondered how his dad put up with her for so long. He thought Lucas was better off with Chloe. Later, Father Matt ran into Chloe. She told the priest she was making progress with Will and thought Allie was adorable. Father Matt asked how things were with Lucas. Chloe admitted she hadn't told him about her affair. She told Father Matt about the explosion and Lucas coming back to life, but not remembering anything about her affair. "God gave me a do-over," said Chloe. Chloe wished Father Matt had married her and Lucas and went on about how being married to Lucas was a new beginning.
Lucas arrived at Sami's townhouse and realized she didn't tell EJ that Grace was his daughter. Sami said she couldn't after what happened to Philip and nobody else could know the truth. Lucas mentioned Rafe knowing and asked if he could be trusted. "Yeah," said Sami, admitting there were problems in their relationship. Rafe flipped when she was considering telling EJ and almost left town. Sami said she talked to Rafe and things were wonderful until EJ interrupted. Sami recounted what happened at the wedding and how she decided not to ‘fess up about Grace, when she learned about Ph ilip. Since she couldn't tell EJ why she was really there, he assumed she still had feelings for him. Rafe overheard EJ telling Sami that and walked out, despite Sami's insistence she didn't love her ex. "Are you being honest when you say that?" asked Lucas. Sami swore she was. Lucas and Sami argued back and forth. Lucas went off about EJ being part of their lives. Sami vowed to be careful. Lucas urged Sami to go find Rafe. Sami headed out, telling Lucas she knew her secret was safe with him. Will arrived and asked what that meant. Sami lied that it was about her relationship with Rafe. Sami left, and Lucas said he had to go see Chloe. Will noted Chloe was at the pier and admitted he liked her. Then, he asked Lucas if he kept Sami's secret from Chloe. Lucas said he was sure Chloe had a few secrets of her own. Later, Lucas found Chloe chatting with Father Matt and heard her say, "I know that there are secrets that should be kept, even from your husband."
Arianna and Rafe chatted at the Java Café. Rafe asked if last night made up for everything that had happened between them. Arianna said Rafe would have to buy her breakfast, too. Arianna sensed Rafe was holding something back from her. He explained he'd given up his job, but wasn't fired. Arianna assumed Rafe's last assignment was a young beautiful female, who he fell for. She wondered if the woman was worth losing his job over. Rafe didn't kno w and noted the relationship might be over. "It looks like I found you again just in the nick of time," said Arianna. Rafe explained that he'd gotten an offer from Homeland Security. Arianna couldn't believe this woman turned a great agent into a loser in Salem. Speak of the devil, in walked Sami just as Rafe told Arianna he loved her and no one would ever take her place in his heart.
Chelsea found Kate at the hospital and reported Billie was stable. Kate said she'd bought a ticket for London. Chelsea wanted to go, instead, so Kate could stay with Philip. Daniel interrupted, and Kate told him about Billie. Chelsea wished she'd called Billie before the accident and told her about Max. Daniel was glad Chelsea was happy with Max. Daniel asked Chelsea what hospital Billie was at in London. Turned out he knew a doctor there and said he'd phone him. Kate returned and got a phone call about Billie. Meanwhile, Chelsea arranged her trip. Kate finally agreed to let Chelsea go to England. Chelsea left to tell her supervisor she was leaving. Theo ran up to her as Abe and Lexie followed. Chelsea explained about Billie and going to London. Theo asked how she would get there. Chelsea handed him a paper airplane. Chelsea returned and said goodbye to Kate. Then, she phoned Max and left him a message. Kate asked Daniel for his advice about a problem. She knew for sure Chloe was having an affair and was shattered. Daniel feigned disbelief. "You can't believe20it, when you are the man that she was whoring around with!" announced Kate.
