DAYS Week of August 23, 2010
Monday
Rafe listened to the CD and learned EJ orchestrated Sydney's kidnapping. Nicole asked if he was going to confront EJ. Not yet — Rafe still had a tad more to do. Nicole freaked that she'd be dead if EJ or Stefano found out what she'd done. Rafe said she'd have around the clock protection from the FBI. Nicole was still terrified and tried to run. Rafe stopped her. Later, Rafe hauled Nicole to his office and introduced her to Lou, her bodyguard. Lou told Rafe that Gabi called. Rafe phoned Gabi, who told him Sami was marrying EJ as they spoke. Rafe hung up and raced to the DiMera mansion.
Judge Fitzpatrick asked if anyone objected to Sami and EJ's wedding, when someone pounded at the door. Kate answered it to find Roman. He was there to arrest Sami, desperate to keep her from making the biggest mistake of her life. Roman handcuffed Sami, who insisted she loved EJ and wanted a life with him. Roman mentioned Sami being on her way to see Rafe the last time they spoke. Sami recalled seeing Rafe and Nicole kissing. She said Rafe wasn't the man she thought he was and that she always had feelings for EJ. She insisted they'd be happy together and asked Roman to stay for the wedding. He agreed. Lexie apologized to EJ for telling Abe about the nuptials, since he obviously blabbed to Roman. Alone, Stefano asked EJ if there was any way anyone could know EJ had Sydney kidnapped. EJ assured no one could. Finally, the ceremony resumed. Sami went on about how much EJ had changed, how he brought Sydney back to her, and how she knew he'd be the best husband ever. Then, EJ and Sami recited their vows. The judge was ready to pronounce them husband and wife, when Rafe burst in yelling, "Stop!"
Daniel, Chloe, Philip and Melanie continued celebrating Chloe's birthday. Philip was a wreck, as he and Chloe anxiously awaited the paternity test results. He finally announced he and Melanie had to go. He had a conference call he forgot about. Daniel thought Philip's leaving seemed strange and commented that Chloe looked tense. She explained it away. Daniel and Chloe and kissed, which led them to the boudoir. Afterwards, Chloe slept, as Daniel professed his love for her. When Chloe awakened, Daniel was gone. He turned up on the pier, where he texted someone a message and announced, "Done!"
Carly was at St. Mary's with Sister Anne, anxious to the get the paternity results on "Dana Scott's" baby. The nun rambled about "Dana" not having signed a confidentiality release form. She suggested calling her. Carly suggested Sister Anne check again. The nun returned, noting all was well. She logged into the computer system and told Chloe how to get the results. Carly clicked something and exclaimed, "Done."
Philip joined Melanie at the pub. He got a call. Melanie asked if it was good news or bad. "Both," said Philip, noting there was something he had to do, but once he did, all his problems would be over. Philip went outside. "Is it yes or no?" he asked, telling someone on the other end it would mean the world to him if they could pull something off. Later, Philip's phone rang, "Thank you," he responded. "I owe you big time, man." Meanwhile, Melanie perused St. Mary's website on her laptop, clicked on something, and said, "It's done." Back at her place, Chloe went to St. Mary's website and clicked on something, as Carly approached her door.
Ian showed Steph the results on "Dana Scott's" baby. "This is a total nightmare," whined Steph, noting that when the truth came out she'd lose Nathan. She went on about Melanie divorcing Philip and Nathan being there for her. Ian was confused. Steph explained Dana was really Chloe. Later, Ian found Steph sobbing on the pier. Ian tried to reassure her. Back at her apartment, Steph worked her charms on Ian, noting there was something he could do for her: change the paternity test results. Ian balked. It was illegal and wrong. Then, he caved and hacked into St. Mary's system. "This is too weird," he said, showing Steph that the results had already been changed.
Tuesday
Carly stopped by to tell a seemingly relieved Chloe that the baby is Daniel's. They hugged and Chloe was overcome with emotion. Daniel arrived. Carly covered that she came by to wish Chloe a happy birthday, then gave the duo a silver teething ring for the baby. Chloe was beaming with excitement about finally being able to tell people that they're having a baby together. "Are you just now figuring that out?" Daniel quipped. After, Daniel thanked Carly, who was walking on eggshells, for being a friend. She was relieved. Chloe, meanwhile, was thrilled that Daniel had scored them tickets to see Carmen and a private tour of the art museum. Before she left, Carly flashed back to being at the computer terminal at St. Mary's. Daniel took note of her "sad look." Carly said she had to make a tough decision for a patient and thinks she did the right thing.
Stephanie and Ian figured out that someone had already hacked into the computer system at St. Mary's and changed the paternity results before they did, then questioned who could've done it. Steph surmised it could be someone she doesn't even know and was still worried about being linked to the switch. Ian told her to quit stressing and reminded her that it happened the way she wanted so it doesn't matter now. At the hospital, Nathan was piddling around on his lap top and then quickly slammed it shut when a nurse approached. After, he went to see Steph and accused her of hiding something. She fibbed about why Ian was there and thought that Nathan had figured out about he paternity test switch. She was happy to realize he was referring to the computer program at work and they quickly fell into bed. Later, Stephanie was suddenly wracked with guilt about what had happened regarding the switch.
On the other side of town, Melanie was on her own computer and told herself, "That was the best thing to do for everybody." Phil came home, let out a huge sigh of relief and said, "Thank God that's over," before greeting his bride with a kiss. Once inside, Phil saw Mel had the St. Mary's Web site up on her computer. She said they offered her a position but she didn't take it. Phil told her that their earlier problem "went his way and it's all good." Mel was pleased. Their make out session turned into talk about moving into a new place; Mel wanted to stay in the neighborhood to be close to Daniel and Maggie. Then she saw Chloe texting Phil and wondered why. He quickly grabbed his phone out of her hands, which Mel noticed. He apologized for overreacting and said he's sick of surprises. Then they went over to Chloe's, per her text. Shortly after, Phil and Mel arrived at Chloe's. Chloe wanted to celebrate the baby and made it a point to say it was hers and Daniel's. They proposed a toast. Chloe apologized for driving everyone crazy with her stress. "That's all over. I have everything I could ever wish for," she smiled.
At the DiMera manse, Rafe refused to leave the wedding until he spoke to Sami, who was livid and reminded Rafe that there's nothing left between them. Roman urged Sami to give Rafe five minutes to explain why he's there. Meanwhile, Stefano threatened him, then ribbed EJ about having Roman as his new father-in-law. "Trust me," EJ responded. "Once we're married, I'm making sure the Brady Bunch stays along way from my family." Sami reluctantly agreed to talk to Rafe and assured EJ he has nothing to worry about because they're still getting married. She stepped outside to talk to Rafe. Stefano was worried; EJ surmised it's just Rafe's last-ditch effort to win Sami back. Lexie asked EJ if he's worried about losing Sami.
In the hall, Sami called Rafe a hypocrite for sleeping with Nicole and refused to give him a second chance. Rafe said Sydney's the reason he's there, which made Sami stop cold in her wedding heels. "EJ doesn't deserve to be a father," Rafe explained and called him a master con man. Sami was riled up and told Rafe to leave but he refused and begged her to let him say what's on his mind. Then Sami returned to tell the rest of the party to leave, except for EJ. She said she's not calling the wedding off but that she needs more time to hear Rafe out and wants EJ to be with her when she does. EJ assured Stefano that it'll be okay and urged him to leave with everyone else.
Back inside, EJ was on pins and needles. Rafe revealed that he's finally got proof about what EJ did. Sami waited with bated breath. "It's over!" Rafe smirked.
Wednesday
Bo and Roman went to the courthouse, where Baker was led in for his hearing. Within earshot of the doc, Bo demanded that he pay for what he did by doing lots of time. Baker antagonized Bo, who had an outburst and attacked him. The guards were forced break up the scuffle. Roman chided Bo for taking the bait. The trial got underway. Baker's lawyer suggested all of the charges be dropped. Much to Bo's dismay, the judge was willing to hear it out. Roman testified and confirmed that Hope is his sister-in-law. During a quick recess, Bo threatened Baker and promised to seek revenge if the judge does let him go free. Later, Bo was called to the stand, admitted he wasn't there for Hope and continued to rail against Baker for what he did to her. Carly tearfully watched from afar. Next, the defense called Hope to the stand.
At the Pub, Vivian tried to persuade a baffled Victor that they needed the sarcophagus she had just purchased for their life in eternity together. Victor saw Maggie, who shared an awkward encounter with the duo as she complimented them on the purchase. "You have no idea what that means to me; you of all people," Vivian sneered and asked Maggie's opinion about the pink satin lining. Later, Viv met Gus at the cemetery where he warned her about her plot to bury Maggie alive.
At the DiMera manse, EJ tried to say that Rafe is lying about whatever evidence he claims to have against him. The men started to face off and Rafe finally blurted out that EJ ordered Anna to kidnap Sydney. Sami was thrown and refused to believe it; EJ called Rafe delusional. Rafe continued to rattle off all the evidence that proved EJ really did do it, then played Nicole's testimony in which she admitted to taping EJ plotting the entire scheme.
A frantic Nicole begged Brady to help her. She finally came clean about what she knows about EJ and admitted to blackmailing him, then said she knows that Rafe is going to play the recording and EJ is going to seek revenge. Brady was as stunned and livid as Sami, and refused to help her. Victor came in and, after seeing the look of devastation on Nic's face, was tickled pink. "Now my day is nothing but lollipops and rainbows!" he smiled, revealing that he was responsible for delivering her up to Rafe. Nicole was miffed and said she won't go down without a fight. Meanwhile, Maggie found Brady drinking at the bar and encouraged him to come with her to a meeting.
Back at the DiMeras, Sami was shocked and overcome with emotion; Rafe said he's telling her everything because he loves her. In return, she slapped him. Rafe pointed out that he's never lied to her but that EJ's entire life has been a terrible web of them. She still couldn't believe it and brought up Rafe's fling with Nicole. "She's a liar and a bitch. I'll never take her at her word," she spat and asked Rafe to leave. He refused, and popped the incriminating CD into a computer. Sami told him to play it, over EJ’s protest.
Thursday
Rafe played the CD for Sami. After hearing himself say, "If Sami finds out I'll lose everything!" an outraged EJ quickly turned it off and said he can't bear for her to hear another word. Sami was miffed and said she's doing it for their children. So, Rafe pressed play and an overwhelmed Sami heard everything, including EJ's confession to the kidnapping. She gave him a dead stare, blinking back tears. "You did it," she said, adding that she recognized his voice — even as he continued to explain and deny what happened. Rafe wanted to take the tape to Roman but Sami just asked him to leave. "You'll pay," Rafe said to EJ before he left.
At the courthouse, Hope was on the stand and admitted that she asked for the muggings assignment. After stating her personal relationships with Bo and Roman, Baker's attorney amped up the accusations, which angered Bo, who jumped up and asked for the interrogation to stop. Hope then was asked to read aloud her own notes from the investigation stating that she didn't think the perp is mentally stable. When Davis, the lawyer, called Hope crazy, Baker jumped up and asked him to stop and fired his attorney. "Just let her go," Baker pleaded. "She can't take it. She doesn't know what she did and she shouldn't be punished for things she couldn't control." Then he plead guilty. After, Hope asked Bo to stop looking after her. Hope stressed about not knowing her real self. Bo assured her that she's not who the judge says she is. Then she was transported back to prison.
At the mausoleum, Vivian chided Gus for being so negative. Gus continued to tell Viv that killing Maggie is a terrible idea but she wouldn't hear it and assured him that no one is going to miss Maggie when she's gone. "I'm going to lure that red-headed mummy to her final resting place," she smirked.
At Maggie's, Melanie unsuccessfully tried to knit Chloe and Daniel's baby a gift. Mel thanked Maggie for being a part of the reason why she's the happiest she's been in her life. Maggie responded by saying she's thinking about leaving town.
At the Pub, Kate and Stefano bickered over what was really going down at the DiMera manse while they sipped on drinks and waited for the you-know-what to hit the fan. "Sami has two men vying for her. That's like crack cocaine to her!" Kate quipped. Stefano didn't want to talk about it anymore. Later, Nicole arrived and wondered why they're not at the wedding. Stefano demanded Nic tell him what Rafe knows about EJ. She lied that she doesn't know squat, but he called her bluff. Meanwhile, Rafe met up with Roman and handed over the CD proving EJ was guilty.
Carly returned to the hospital, where Mel could tell that something was up. Carly explained what happened at the trial and said that Bo supported Hope because he can't stand to see her in distress. Later, Bo came home and took a nap with Carly to get his mind off Hope, but woke up in a cold sweat after he had a dream about Hope begging him to save her.
Sami asked EJ to look her in the eye and admit what he did. He did. Sami calmly confronted him and demanded to know why he did it. He admitted he wanted to see her suffer and lost his temper as he reminded her that he was just seeking revenge on her for making him think their daughter was dead. Their fight escalated as Sami explained her own motives. "I was trying to be a good parent. This family is dangerous!" she screamed, and called him a monster. EJ explained that he wanted to marry Sami because he felt so guilty for what he did and wants to make up for it.
Friday
Daniel and Chloe went to Victor's and they told him they were expecting. "Is the baby Daniel's?" a glib Vic asked. Chloe went nuts. Vic said he didn't mean to be insulting, adding he thought Chloe was barren. Daniel got upset, so Vic quickly backpedaled and said he was happy and sincerely apologetic. Chloe smiled that God had given her everything she ever wanted. "So God has decided to single you out, has he, Chloe?" Vic replied. Daniel implored Vic to cut her a break. Mr. K promised to be on his best behavior. A tired Chloe left Daniel behind with his godfather. Daniel chided Vic for being so disrespectful to Chloe. Vic observed that Chloe was being sensitive.
Vivian visited Maggie on the pretense of wanting to talk about her plans for the sarcophagus. She asked about the info from Mickey's funeral. An outraged Maggie offered to show Vivian the bill. While Mags was out of the room, Vivian spied a travel brochure for the Bahamas and then swiped some of Maggie's stationery. Melanie came in and asked what Viv was doing. Viv covered and left. Maggie returned and discovered Vivian gone.... Gus told Viv that the sarcophagus had arrived. She was thrilled to see it.
Stefano put the screws to an uncomfortable Nicole at the Brady Pub. After she left, Kate asked about the conversation. He said he would tell her in the car.... Nicole hurried home and started to pack. She heard someone trying to break in, grabbed a pair of scissors and hid. The intruder entered; Nicole screamed. Turned out, it was a FBI agent named George who was there to protect her.... Nicole visited Chloe and brought her a birthday gift. She spied Chloe's baby bump, noting they had some catching up to do.
EJ tried to explain to Sami why he did what he did. He insisted that he spent every moment since the kidnapping trying to make up for the horror he put her through. He vowed never to hurt her again. She seemed torn, but said she couldn't believe him because he couldn't help himself. He told her he loved her, made a heartfelt plea for her to forgive him, then proposed again. While he was on his knee, Sami snapped and told him how she had gone to Rafe the night before, hoping he would prevent her from marrying EJ. As she ranted at EJ, tears filled his eyes. Sami promised him he would never see his children again. Stefano walked in and realized Sami knew the truth. He said Sami would take those kids over his dead body. Rafe arrived and said it would be if Stefano tried to stop him. Kate asked what was going on. Rafe filled her in. Kate was horrified.
Sami got the kids ready to go. Johnny didn't want to leave. EJ assured him they'd be together soon. After Sami and Rafe left with the children, Stefano asked Elvis how Hernandez found out. Kate realized that Stefano had known the truth. Stefano asked Kate to excuse herself so he and EJ could talk privately. She was peeved. Stefano pressed EJ to explain how Nicole got involved. Elvis explained what happened to his angry dad.
Roman went to the Brady Pub and told Caroline what EJ had done. Arianna overheard and took off. Roman said Sami would need to stay somewhere until she got back on her feet. Caroline said Sami could do that with her. Sami and Rafe arrived with the kids. Caroline took the children to the kitchen. Roman asked Sami how she was doing. She said she felt like a fool. Caroline returned and she and Roman left them to talk alone. Sami hugged Rafe and thanked him for saving her.
Kate tried to get in touch with Will, to no avail. Chad came upon her and asked if she was okay. She needed to get in touch with Will and asked Chad to tell Will to call her. Stefano arrived to talk to his wife. Chad took off.... Arianna visited EJ.
