DAYS Week of August 27, 2007 Recaps

Monday

Max and Jeremy met up at the Brady Pub to discuss the situation with
Rawlings and the Vegas girls. Max said he heard from Ilsa, who rounded up
most of the ladies. The plan was to usher them out of Sin City the next day.
Max suggested bringing the cops in, but Jeremy was reluctant. Stephanie
joined them, explaining she was going to the beach with Jett and Chelsea,
who were waiting outside. She asked Jer to join, but he went out to talk to
Jett before responding. Chelsea went inside. Once alone, Jeremy implored
Jett to talk to the cops and tell them that he was trying to do make things
right. Jett played dumb, but Jeremy persisted. Jett finally revealed that
the cops have been on to his pal for months. Jeremy insisted Jett helped
him, since Jer once saved his life. Jett suggested that Jeremy do damage
control as soon as he could.

In the pub, Max and Stephanie had an awkward conversation about their Vegas
smooch. Max apologized for crossing the line, but Steph insisted it wasn't
his fault. Jeremy came in and asked if something was going on with the two
of them. They played it off, then Steph asked if it was time to go to the
beach. Jeremy said they weren't going. Steph went anyway. Max joined.

At the gym, Lucas and Sami trailed Andre, but worried that they weren't
dressed appropriately to be on the sly. Lucas asked what the plan was, then
wasn't impressed when Sami told him that she was going to spill something on
Andre to distract him. Lucas suggested they call Roman. Sami went to the
juice bar, where she encountered Andre. He said he knew what her agenda was
and if she crossed him, he would snap her neck. Sami pretended to faint. The
gym staff tended to her. Lucas came over, then called Roman. In the mele,
Andre gave them the slip. Lucas called Roman.

At the Brady home, Roman and Bo tried to figure out what was going on with
Stefano and Andre. Bo suggested that Stefano wasn't as sick as everyone
thought, but Roman said he talked to a doctor, who reported that the Phoenix
wasn't well and needed a new liver. Bo noted that a part of him wished
Stefano would live, since he's the only one who can control Andre.

In the hospital, EJ was prepped for liver surgery. Stefano came in to chat
with his son and thanked him for being a donor. He could sense his son's
hesitation and asked him to be honest if he was having second thoughts. EJ
admitted that it troubled him to reflect on how many people his father has
hurt. Stefano countered by pointing out that Elvis was very much like him,
seeing as how he was ready to put Lucas on ice days earlier. "Those halfwits
at the Salem PD ... think that it was Andre, but I know that little caper
had your fingerprints all over it, my son." Stefano said if EJ was unwilling
to consider himself a DiMera then the surgery was off. EJ replied that he
planned to keep up his end of the bargain. "You're a good son, Elvis.
Strong," a pleased Stefano noted.

Roman arrived at the gym and told Sami and Lucas to stop playing cops. He
told them to go home and threatened to put an APB on them, so they would be
arrested if they left the apartment. Once alone, Sami noted to Lucas that it
doesn't make sense that Andre would leave the building. They spied a "woman"
with the folio and Sami suspected it was Andre in disguise. "She" went into
the steam room. Lucas followed, but said Roman wouldn't be pleased. Sami
wished him luck.

The doctor was doing the final prep on EJ at the hospital. Roman and Bo
barged in and said that they had an arrest warrant for EJ, who has been
ignoring his parking violations. "You cannot be serious," declared Elvis,
who added that it was a most inopportune time to be pursuing charges. Roman
ordered the doctor to remove the IV from EJ. A smirky Bo went to visit old
man DiMera. He reported what happened with Elvis and explained that he was
on his way to jail. "You can't do that. Stefano will die," exclaimed Dr.
Rolf. Stefano asked what Bo wanted in return. "How very observant. You can
either end this ridiculous vendetta, hand over Andre, or you can cash in
your chips," Brady replied.

Tuesday

In the hospital, Roman read an irate EJ his rights. EJ then stuck a syringe
into Roman's leg — rendering him incapable of moving — and stormed out. In
the hallway, Bo and Stefano continued their standoff over the liver.
Relieved that his father was still alive, EJ approached them. Bo cuffed him
and reread the Miranda rights. Roman limped in. EJ urged Stefano to tell
them where Andre was, but the Phoenix refused and had Rolf bring him back to
his room. EJ asked Bo for a few minutes alone with his father. Once inside
Stefano's room, EJ tried to appeal to him to turn over Andre, but to no
avail. Bo came in to report that time was up. Stefano gave in and revealed
that Andre was at the health club to meet Kate and hand over the folio. EJ
thanked Stefano, then asked Bo to remove the handcuffs so he could find his
cousin.

In the gym, Sami paced nervously waiting for Lucas, but a club employee,
Tessa, told her the club was closed. Sami insisted that her husband was in
trouble and fibbed that she was a member of the club. While Tessa went to
check, Sami slipped by her. Lucas, meanwhile, was held at gunpoint by an
in-drag Andre. Lucas demanded the folio, but Andre refused to hand it over,
then roughed up Roberts. A panicky Sami found blood on the wall and Lucas's
wedding ring. She called Roman, but he was too drugged to help her. "I got
stuck with a needle, and I think it was filled with lollipops or something,"
he laughed. She called Bo, who was in Stefano's room. EJ heard what was
going on and slipped out. Bo grabbed Roman and followed.

At the Brady home, Hope and Steve engaged in a diaper-changing contest.
Benjy came by and asked to speak to Steve privately. After, Steve came in
with Benjy and told Hope and Kayla about the DiMera liver donor powwow.
Kayla told Benjy he was welcome to stay with them. Hope suggested he hide
his car in the garage. Benjy thanked them and left to do so. Hope, Steve and
Kayla then discussed Pocket and parenthood. Steve admitted that he likes
having the baby around, but he worries that he would mess up another kid
like he did Stephanie. Kayla pointed out that it wasn't his fault; the
DiMeras brainwashed him. Speaking of the DiMeras, the trio realized Benjy
wasn't back yet. Steve went to look for him, then returned with a suitcase
and no Benjy. Steve vowed to find him.

Alone in his room, Stefano heard an aria and then was "visited" by Santo.
Stefano asked if his papa was there to claim him, but Santo said he was
there to assure Stefano that "it is not over. The Phoenix will rise
again.... I am here to help you fulfill your destiny."

Lucas was bound and trapped in a car outside of the gym. Rabid dogs barked
outside of it. Inside, Tessa continued to give Sami a hard time, even though
Sami explained that her husband was being stalked by a killer. "What are
you, like a pathological liar?" Tessa asked. Sami explained that her father
was the deputy police commissioner, but Tessa didn't buy it. EJ — who
is a club member — rushed in and helped Sami search for Lucas. They
headed to the steam room. Bo arrived next, also looking for Sami. A
still-feeling-the-effects-of-the-drug Roman was in tow and acting goofy.
Tessa felt guilty that she didn't believe Sami. Bo's cell phone rang —
it was Lucas, who explained what happened.

At the steam room entrance, Andre approached Sami. He pushed her in with EJ,
locked the door and turned up the heat.

Wednesday

Kayla and Hope waited for work on Benjy. Steve inspected Benjy's luggage and
found blood on it. In an alley, a homeless man came across Benjy's bloody
body in a Dumpster.

Rattled by his vision of Santo, Stefano begged Dr. Rolf to destroy the
folio. Rolf's cell phone rang and he left to take the call, promising
Stefano it would make him a happy man. Stefano saw Santo again in the
interim. Rolf returned, saying that they found a donor. Rolf instructed
Stefano's doctor to find an operating room, stat. Stefano saw Santo again
and begged him to leave. Rolf asked who he was talking to and tried to calm
him down. Stefano restated his request that Rolf destroy the folio if he
died. Rolf said he would.

At the gym, Andre grinned as EJ and Sami begged to be let out of the steam
room, then ran off. A panicky Sami cried that it was bad for the babies for
her to be in there. EJ assured her they'd be out soon. Time passed, so EJ
started to take his shirt off and advised Sami to do the same so she
wouldn't get hotter. She balked, so he gave her a towel, turned around and
told her to disrobe. She did. She then blamed herself for getting into this
mess, since Lucas told her not to.

From his car in the alley, a bloody Lucas urged Bo to find Sami. Bo reported
that Tessa told him that Sami left. "With who?" Lucas demanded. Bo told him
it was EJ, which alarmed Lucas. A still-loopy Roman insisted on helping. "I
back your got," he said. In the car, Lucas activated the alarm to scare the
dogs off. It worked. Bo and Roman arrived and Lucas asked what took them so
long. Lucas then took note of Roman's behavior. Bo explained that he was
dopey from the meds. Hope called Bo's cell to tell him about Benjy's
disappearance. Bo told her he was on his way home, instructing Lucas not to
let Roman get behind the wheel of a car.

Bo arrived home, where he, Kayla and Hope wondered what could have happened
to Benjy. Hope said she had spoken to Lexie and Benjy's wife, Sonia, and
that nobody had seen him. Bo left the room to call the station and put out
an APB. Steve came in, holding a white bag, saying he needed to speak to Bo.
Kayla grabbed the bag. In it was a bloody shirt. Bo returned and told them
that someone found Benjy, who was barely alive. Bo was about to leave, but
Steve said he wanted to come, too. Bo said no because Steve was too
emotionally connected to Benjy. Bo ultimately relented, but warned Steve he
would lock him up if he had to. They arrived at the scene, where they were
told that the cut in Benjy's side was surgical.

Lucas and Roman — who was feeling more like himself —went to
the hospital to see Stefano. They were surprised to hear he was having a
transplant. Rolf said that another family member had stepped forward to give
their liver. Roman deduced it was stolen. Lucas headed back to the gym to
find his wife. Roman then went to the Benjy crime scene and told Bo that
Stefano was about to have surgery.

In the steam room, EJ tried to distract Sami by playinga game. Sami asked
EJ if he set up their predicament to get her naked. He said if that was his
plan, he would have found somewhere more romantic and comfortable. She
implored him to find a way out. He tried to keep her cool by fanning her
with a towel. EJ then spied a ceiling fan and asked if she had a bobby pin
or wire. "A wire. No, sorry. I left all my wires in the car," she replied.
He took the underwire from her bra (after brazenly asking if she was a C or
D cup) to try and rig the air system. He was electrocuted and fell to the
floor. Lucas came the door. Sami cried out that she thought EJ was dead.

Bo came to the hospital and encountered Stefano and Rolf. Bo excoriated Rolf
for what happened with Benjy. Steve came in after him and picked up the
cooler with the liver and yelled that Stefano would never get it.

Thursday

Philip and Billie met at the Brady Pub to discuss his missing son. Billie
reported that Oklahoma state police responded to the photo she faxed of
Lauren and that she's at a shelter for battered women. Billie gave him the
address in Oklahoma, but said she couldn't go because the university needs
her. She suggested he bring a woman along, though, who could pretend to be
Lauren's concerned sister. "What about Belle?" Billie asked.

At the Brady home, Belle sat with Shawn while he looked for his tools. She
left to call Marlena and check on Claire. Max came by to tell Shawn that he
had a feeling he was going to lose the garage and that they'd both be out of
work. Max then told him about his illegal side business with Jeremy. Shawn
urged Max to talk to Bo, but Max pointed out that Las Vegas was out of his
jurisdiction. Shawn was devastated to realize that his future plans with
Belle and Claire were in doubt. Belle returned and asked Max what he was
doing there. He covered that it was garage talk. Belle left to go get her
college books. Max advised Shawn to come clean with Belle before she found
out from someone else. Shawn lamented that he could never catch a break. Max
agreed, noting there was a good chance he was going to jail.

Lucas worked frantically to get Sami out of the steam room. She reiterated
that EJ wasn't breathing. Inside, Sami urged EJ to hang on. She gave him
mouth-to-mouth while Lucas and Tessa worked on getting the door open. During
the mouth-to-mouth, EJ and Sami wound up in a kiss. Lucas managed to get
inside and found Sami hovering over EJ. He told her to sit down. Sami
implored him to save Elvis. Lucas administered mouth-to-mouth; EJ started
breathing again and realized it was because of Lucas. Lucas said that they
were almost even. The EMTs rushed in. Lucas noted that he felt like he shot
his future with Sami to hell by saving EJ. Sami insisted he had nothing to
worry about. Lucas confessed to being jealous of EJ and that the reading of
the Santo/Colleen letters just drove the point home. Sami insisted that
Lucas was her destiny. She then returned his wedding ring to him.

The standoff over the liver for Stefano's transplant continued in the
hospital as Steve held on to the mini-cooler. Bo warned Steve that he'd have
to arrest him if he didn't put it down. The doctor came in, asking why there
was a holdup for the transplant. Bo explained that they believed the liver
was forcibly taken from Benjy and that it's evidence. The doc asked if they
had a warrant. Bo said no. The doctor declared that — in that case — Stefano
needed to be tended to ASAP. Steve wouldn't capitulate, so Bo tried to
reason with him, saying it wasn't his place to play God. Steve got a
canister of bleach and threatened to pour it on the liver. Once that drama
subsided, Stefano was taken into surgery; Bo and Steve had it out. Steve
chastised Bo for being so by-the-book; Bo replied that Steve would have gone
to jail otherwise. Dr. Rolf returned and told them that the surgery was a
success. "You will never bring him down," the doc pointed out. "Stefano
DiMera is far too formidable a foe." After, Bo proposed a plan to Steve that
would draw Andre out of hiding.

Belle met up with Philip, who texted her. He told her about the lead on
Lauren and asked her to go with him. "Sign me up," she responded. He praised
her for being "amazing," but worried what Shawn would say. Belle said he
would have to understand that it's something she has to do.

Friday

Belle and Philip prepared for their trip to Oklahoma. She admitted that she
hadn't told Shawn yet. At the Brady home, Shawn and Hope talked about the
mess with Max. Hope worried that Shawn hadn't told Belle the truth. He told
her he hoped to have a paycheck soon, then revealed that he wants to join
the Salem P.D. Hope pointed out that Belle wouldn't be pleased with his
career choice. Hope then admitted she wouldn't survive if she lost another
son. She urged him to think through his decision. He said he had. She gave
his blessing, but as he noted, "with a side of guilt." Shawn said he wanted
to pass the entrance exam before Philip found out about the garage and
swooped in on Belle. Hope said that Belle is devoted to Shawn only. He
wasn't as sure. She urged him to be honest with Belle. He said he would.

At the hotel, Kayla worried about Steve's involvement in Bo's plan to fake
Stefano's death. Steve saw Pocket's outfit and asked where Kayla got it. She
said it was an old one of Stephanie's. Steve reminded her that Pocket
doesn't like to dress like a girl. She wanted to visit Benjy, so she asked
Steve to watch the baby. He was concerned that he wasn't up to the task, but
she was encouraging.

At the hospital, Kayla ran into Lexie in Benjy's room. "I wish it was me in
this bed instead of my brother," Lexie sighed. Kayla assured her that Benjy
would say the same thing if the situation was reversed. They then discussed
Steve and Pocket, as well as Stefano and his continued ability to survive.
The women were relieved when Benjy came to.

Steve had a rough time taking care of Pocket. Hope went over to the hotel to
help. She deduced that the baby was hungry. Steve felt like an idiot. After
they fed the baby, Hope asked how Pocket came into their lives. She then
mentioned that he needed a real name. "Pocket is a name you grow out of, not
into," she noted. They had a heart-to-heart about parenting, then Hope
helped him clean the suite. Kayla returned to the suite and told Steve that
Benjy was awake and is on the mend. She asked how things went with Pocket.
With no mention of Hope's help, Steve said it was all good.

Belle went to the Brady home to tell Shawn about her Oklahoma plans. Before
she could, he told her that Hope was going to watch Claire for them so they
could go out to dinner. She dropped the OK bomb. Shawn didn't understand why
Belle had to be the one to go, but reluctantly gave his okay. "Be careful,"
he said. Philip came to the door. Belle told him Shawn was cool with her
going. Shawn wished them luck and hoped they'd find Lauren and Tyler. Once
alone with Philip, Shawn asked where he got off asking Belle to go out of
town with him. Philip retorted that if Shawn had been honest about
Indianapolis, this never would have happened. Belle came back in the room.
Shawn told her dinner was at 6. Belle promised she'd be back in time. Before
they left, Philip had a parting shot for Shawn: "Last I looked, she was a
free woman. Belle's not your wife. Not yet."

Hope came home and asked Shawn what was wrong. He told her about Belle's day
trip to Tulsa with Philip. She asked if he trusted Belle. He said he does.
"Then the fears, the doubts. Let them all go," she said.
