DAYS Week of August 9, 2010
Monday
Sami admired the big rock EJ gave her Roman came by to tell her that Dr. Baker and Hope had been arrested for the muggings. She was stunned to hear about her aunt’s crimes and that the bad doc was alive. The conversation switched to EJ’s proposal, which Roman wanted to talk about, despite Sami’s protests. He asked what was going on with them. She didn’t want to have to explain herself to her dad.
At the station, Baker was put in a room, where EJ promised him that justice would be served. Baker wasn’t interested in having a chat. EJ instructed him not to mention Nicole in whatever story he spun to the authorities. Baker was surprised EJ wanted to protect his lying ex. Sami came in just as Baker was saying he thought EJ hated that woman. Sami verbally attacked the doc, who was humored to realize Sami and EJ were a pair. He warned Sami that EJ would make her life hell. EJ attacked Baker; Roman walked in and broke it up. Sami took EJ home, where they bonded.
Carly came home to find Julie tidying up. She asked where Bo was, noting he had left her a cryptic message about Hope.... Bo was at the station with Hope, trying to convince her to lawyer up. She felt she was a danger and needed to go away for a long time. She pointed out that she had a lot of anger inside of her, and was tortured by what she had done to Ciara in the past months. Bo assured Hope that Ciara knew her mother loved her. He urged his ex to fight and took her hands. Carly came by and apologized for interrupting. Bo asked for another minute alone with Hope, but Hope said they were done. Justin arrived. He and Hope talked about what had happened. She was sorry for hurting him and told him she was pleading guilty.... Bo told Carly he needed to be there for Hope. She understood.... Bo returned to the station and booked Hope. He gave her a photo of Ciara for safekeeping.
Brady drank alone at the Brady Pub. Ari found him and tried to stop him from boozing. He got belligerent, just as a horrified Melanie came in. They realized Nicole hurt him somehow. Brady announced that Hope and Dr. Baker had been arrested for the crimes. A vindicated Ari hurried out. Mel told Brady she was there for him, then left to meet Carly. Carly came by Maggie’s and told Melanie that she was upset over the Bo/Hope situation and felt somehow responsible for being with Bo. Melanie assured her it wasn’t her fault.... Justin met with Brady at the Pub and they discussed Hope.... Ari arrived at the station. Roman told her he was sorry she was falsely accused. She wanted an apology, all right — from Hope.
Tuesday
A weepy Hope sat in the interrogation room. Julie came rushing in; Hope asked Julie to watch over Ciara.
At the station, Rafe, Gabi and Arianna discussed Arianna's freedom, but she didn't seem so happy about it. She was still fuming about Hope wrongly accusing her. The women talked in the interrogation room, where Ari lit into Det. Brady and told her she wanted Hope to pay for what she did. After Ari left, Doug visited his daughter. He tried to talk her out of pleading guilty, but she was determined. "You must be so ashamed of me," she sobbed. He cried that he wasn't and took her in his arms. She told her dad she was scared.
Will got ready to meet Stefano at the pub to discuss a job. He admitted to his grandmother that he liked Stefano.
At the pub, Chad overheard the Phoenix on the phone and approached him. He asked if they could talk about Madeline. Stefano said he was busy and couldn't help the teen and hurried out. Will entered, looking for Stefano and Chad relayed what had happened. Chad said he needed business experience to get into a class at Wake Forest. Will showed Chad a project he was working on for DiMera Enterprises and asked if Chad wanted to work with him. Charles came in to speak to Chad. He told his son he had to go to Chicago on business and might not make it back in time to take him to school. Chad was upset and thought maybe he shouldn't go to North Carolina, after all. Chad wanted to talk more about it, but an inconsiderate Charles hurried off to court.
Stefano returned to the manse. Kate was surprised to see him and he told her what happened with Chad. "You ran away from a teenaged boy," she remarked, then apologized. Stefano was concerned that Chad was obsessed with finding out the truth about his mother. Kate cautioned her hubby not to borrow trouble. She headed to the Pub and overheard Charles and Chad's conversation. She sat down with Chad after the DA left and told him that grief brings out the worst in people. Chad said it was nothing new — his father never wanted him around.
Will and Stefano discussed business at the mansion. Will asked if Chad could work with him on the project, but Stefano said absolutely not. Will was confused and asked if it was because of Chad and Madeline. Stefano tried to sidestep the questioning, but Will pressed.
EJ and Sami relaxed at the beach with the kids. She was happy for them to be together as a family but felt EJ was pressuring her to accept his proposal. She had a fantasy about Rafe saying they belonged together. She snapped out of it and told EJ that she still blames herself for not telling EJ that she was pregnant with his child. He insisted it was in the past and he understood why she did it. He then made a passionate argument about how forgiving and strong she is. Moved, Sami accepted his proposal. EJ was thrilled. They kissed.
Rafe went to the beach to meet an informant who didn't show. Sami ran into him. They had an awkward chat, but both apologized for their fight at the Pub. He asked her what was new; she chuckled nervously, then told him that she ran into Dr. Baker. She blamed herself for what happened with the bad doc. Rafe referenced EJ, which annoyed Sami. They argued. Rafe warned her that she was being suckered in by EJ and not seeing him for who he really is. "I think you still love me," she countered. He admitted that he did. She returned to the DiMera manse and asked to speak to Will alone. She told her son that she was marrying EJ.... On the pier, EJ called Stefano and told him that he proposed to Sami and she said yes. Oops, Rafe happened by and overheard.
Wednesday
At the Kiriakis mansion, Henderson fielded press calls about Hope. Vivian, who was dressed for a ride, traded barbs with a surly Brady. After, she called Victor, but he didn't pick up.
Victor visited Bo and was irate that he didn't know about Hope. Bo couldn't deal, then opened up to his father, saying it was all his fault. Victor, of course, blamed Carly, calling her a plague. Bo didn't feel that blaming Carly was going to help. Maggie entered and mediated between the men. An upset Bo thanked his father and Maggie for coming by before leaving for the station.
Vivian spied Victor comforting a teary Maggie on the pier and was not thrilled. She overheard Victor promise to take care of Mags. Vic asked Maggie to coffee; she said yes. "You were warned to stay away from what was mine. Now I'm going to have to teach you a lesson," Viv vowed after they walked away. They headed to Maggie's kitchen, where she admitted that she had missed him. He said he missed her, too. She asked him to respect Vivian, since Viv was his wife. He reluctantly agreed.... Gus arrived at the mansion. Viv told him she would make Maggie pay.
At the station, Hope entered the interrogation room to find Abe waiting. He assured her he was her friend and wanted to help her. She didn't want any special treatment. He just wanted her to get a fair trial and tough loved her a bit that she couldn't give up. Lexie came in and hugged her pal and vowed to be there for Ciara. After, Abe and Lexie took Ciara to the beach. The Carvers talked about having another child.
"Wow," was Will's unenthusiastic reaction to Sami's engagement news. She pressed him to talk to her, but he wasn't interested in discussing EJ; instead, he asked about Rafe. Sami insisted they were over. She said she was marrying EJ because he had changed and was now being "totally honest" with her. Will was unconvinced.
Rafe overheard EJ on the phone with Stefano, telling his father that Sami accepted his proposal. "It's not going to happen, pal," Rafe said to himself and took off. EJ asked his father to keep it under wraps for now.
Rafe worked out his aggression on the punching bag. After, he ran into Sami on the pier and noted that congratulations were in order. Before she could reply, he jogged off. She followed him to the FBI locker room and asked him what he was talking about when he congratulated her. "You're getting married, right?" he asked, adding that she was out of her ever-loving mind for doing so. "You're not the woman I fell in love with," he declared. She implored him to admit that he pushed her to this. Rafe told her that EJ was conning her, then pulled her into a passionate kiss.
EJ headed to the station and entered the interrogation room to talk to Hope. She told him he couldn't make her feel any worse than she already did. EJ promised to make her pay for what she did. Bo entered on his last statement and warned EJ not to threaten his wife. He kicked EJ out and was furious DiMera had been there at all. Hope pointed out that EJ had every right to be angry with her. Brady came in next. Bo tried to get him to leave, but Hope said it was okay to stay. Brady urged her not to dwell in the negative.
Bo headed to the DiMera manse and warned EJ that if he or the DiMeras did anything to Hope, then Bo would kill him.
Thursday
Philip returned from a business trip and headed to the hospital, where he ran into Daniel and Justin. Phil was shocked to hear that Hope was the mugger. He had to excuse himself when Chloe called. She said she had news about the baby and asked him to meet her at the pier. Chloe opened the door to leave her apartment and found Nicole there, needing to talk. Chloe said she had to go, but Nicole was bummed about Brady. Chloe asked if they could meet later; an upset Nicole took off. Chloe met Philip and told him she had the paternity test done. She said the results would take a few days. He vowed to take care of her if the baby is his. She then told him about her near run-in with Daniel at St. Mary's hospital. Philip assured her he would keep the results confidential. They hugged.
Stephanie met with Adrienne at the Cheatin' Heart. She was upset over the news about Hope. She then announced that she was going to get over herself and not let the fact that Nathan still had Melanie's photo bother her. Adrienne was proud of her. Steph left to drop something off at Maggie's.
Nathan and Maggie chatted in her kitchen about Hope. Maggie's phone rang — the meat delivery hadn't arrived at Chez Rouge. She excused herself to find the invoice, then Melanie came home and was surprised to find Nate in her kitchen. They discussed Hope. She hugged him to comfort him. Stephanie arrived and spied them through the window. Maggie returned and asked if she was interrupting. They said no. Mel excused herself. Maggie pressed Nathan about what was going on with him and Melanie. He insisted they were friends, but Mel would always be special to him. He declared that he loved Stephanie. They headed to the Pub. Caroline gave Mags the cold shoulder. Nathan asked what that was about; Maggie said it was because of Victor. Nathan teased her that perhaps she had some explaining to do, too.
Daniel dropped in to visit Melanie. He thought they should look after Carly, who was blaming herself for what happened with Hope.
A flipped-out Steph returned to the bar and told Adrienne what she saw at Maggie's. Adrienne tried to calm her down, but Steph got on a tear and realized something more was going on with Philip and Chloe than she realized. Ultimately, Steph worried if Phil and Mel's marriage fell apart then she would lose Nathan. She left, then came across Philip and Chloe hugging on the pier. She asked why they seemed so stressed out. Philip said it was because of Bo and Hope. Steph understood why that would upset Philip, but not Chloe. Awkward. Chloe hurried off. Steph and Philip had a tense chat, then he left, too. "Philip and Chloe, you have a secret you're not telling me," she deduced and headed off to figure out what it was. To that end, she snooped around with Daniel.
Justin went to the beach and recalled his recent conversations with Hope. Adrienne arrived and told him she knew how it felt when your heart was breaking.
EJ played with Sydney. In the FBI locker room, Sami and Rafe got into a hot and heavy makeout session. Rafe pulled away and told her she should go. Then, he started kissing her again. He stopped, though, noting she was engaged to EJ. "You knew that when you kissed me," she told him. "Doesn't mean I don't love you. Or want you," he replied. She got annoyed and said if he loved her, he should stop her from marrying EJ. They fought. She asked how he even knew about the engagement and assumed EJ told her. She headed home and lit into EJ for telling Rafe. He said he didn't, but didn't get why Sami was so upset.
Rafe went to the Cheatin' Heart to have a beer. Nicole entered. "You, too, huh?" she asked him, then joined him at a table.
Melanie ran into Chloe at the Brady Pub. Melanie started to tell Chloe about how she was involved with a consult with Daniel at St. Mary's. Melanie then blabbed about the mixup with the amnio patient, but Chloe stopped her and said she shouldn't be talking about it. Chloe rushed off. "You better start telling people you're pregnant or they're just gonna think you're a bitch," Melanie mused to herself after Chloe left. She headed home and found a huge bouquet of flowers — and her husband. She was thrilled.
Chloe picked up Daniel at the hospital and asked if he wanted to go home with her. He asked when they were going to share their baby news. Soon, she assured him.... Steph went to Daniel and Chloe's apartment. She knocked on the door, then swiped the spare key and let herself in. She tried to access their computer, admitting she hated herself for doing so. Caroline called to check on her. Steph tried to hurry off the phone, then heard Daniel and Chloe in the hallway...
Friday
In Daniel and Chloe's apartment, a snoopy Steph hid in the closet when the occupants came home. She listened to them discuss Chloe's birthday plans and their plans to tell everyone they were expecting. Daniel got paged to the hospital for an emergency surgery. He asked them to page Melanie so she could observe.
At Maggie's Melanie told Philip that she was worried about Brady, who was drinking again because of Nicole. She then got the page from the hospital and got ready to go. Philip got a call from Chloe, who asked him to come over. Once he got to her place, Chloe admitted she was worried that Steph was suspicious. She then stressed about what would happen if Daniel told everyone that the baby was his and then it turned out to be Philip's. Uh-oh, gulped an eavesdropping Steph. Chloe added that the amnio results would be available the next day — her birthday. They discussed worst-case scenarios of the truth coming out. Philip believed Melanie would go back to Nathan. Steph blanched. A jittery Chloe wanted to leave; Philip took her out. Once they left, Steph came out of the closet and made some calls to get information at St. Mary's, where Chloe had the test. She then rushed over there.
Daniel and Mel went out to eat at the Brady Pub, after the surgery wound up being a false alarm. When she made some catty remarks about Stephanie, he wondered if Mel was jealous that Steph was with Nathan. She insisted she wasn't. She then told Daniel that she had a job interview at St. Mary's that afternoon. He was encouraging. After, Daniel bought Chloe a diamond bracelet.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Brady came in from a swim and poured himself a drink. Victor was not pleased — especially when he realized it was because of Nicole. And that Brady still had feelings for her.
Nicole and Rafe had a drink at the Cheatin' Heart. She believe he was drowning his sorrows because he lost Sami to EJ. He insisted it wasn't true and said he was celebrating that Arianna wasn't going to prison. He took off, but not before cryptically telling Nicole that for once in her life, she should do the right thing. He headed back to work. He was able to recover some of the damaged CD in which EJ said, "I can't believe I did that. I must have been out of my mind." Rafe was determined to find one of the other CDs before Sami married her baby's kidnapper.
Nicole visited Brady at the K manse. She told him she would turn herself into the cops for him because she loves him and wants him back. She then told an elaborate lie about how she got the money, noting that she was fearful to go back to prison. He didn't understand why she didn't say that in the first place. She made an emotional declaration of her love. They kissed.
Sami reflected on her conversation with Rafe. When EJ came into the room, she told him she wanted to set a date for their wedding. He was thrilled and put the ring on her finger to make it official. They discussed tying the knot and their plans. She wanted the real deal. Stefano and Kate came in; EJ revealed to Kate that Sami would be her new daughter-in-law. Kate began to choke. Sami kidded that they wanted Kate to sing "O Promise Me" at the nups. Stefano toasted the happy couple. After, Sami and EJ basked in their love.
