Monday
Chelsea and Max visited Kate and told her about Max giving his stuffed dog Charlie to Theo. Chelsea went on about what a "good guy" Max was. When Max went to fetch Kate ice chips, she asked Chelsea what was up between the two of them. Chelsea insisted nothing was going on, they were just good buddies. Kate warned Chelsea to be careful. Max returned, and he and Chelsea went for lattes. They chatted about Christmas shopping and exchanging gifts. Chelsea started feeling a tad uncomfortable. Max wondered what was wrong. Chloe swore everything was fine, as Max wiped some foam off her face. Chelsea mentioned leaving for Christmas shopping again and encouraged Max to start his.
Stunned by Daniel's arrival, a teddy clad Chloe told him he had to go — Lucas would be there any minute. Chloe asked about Daniel's finger, which she'd slammed in the door. He assured her it wasn't serious and asked for Chloe's help bandaging it. Chloe asked why Daniel came to the cabin. He reiterated he was doing a favor for Kate. Chloe wondered if Daniel was really checking up on her. They were bickering when Lucas walked in. Lucas wondered why Daniel was there. Daniel explained he was delivering a gift from Kate to Chloe. When Daniel left, Lucas asked Chloe what was going on between the two of them. He sensed tension. Chloe covered, noting Daniel was upset she'd left the hospital before checking in with him. Then, she changed the subject to Kate's gift and opened it. Lucas recognized the necklace as one his father gave his mother years ago. Chloe was touched, but said she couldn't accept it. She phoned Kate and told her so. Kate insisted Chloe wear it on her wedding day to Lucas. Chloe relented, noting it would be an honor. Later, Chloe and Lucas got romantic, but Lucas could tell something was wrong.
Brady arrived to talk to Victor about Titan, but wondered why Philip wasn't there. Victor wanted to talk privately. He asked Brady to come back to work for him. Brady was stunned Victor would put him charge of anything, considering he just got out of rehab. Victor believed that accomplishment would make Brady an even better addition to the company and offered him the vice CEO position. Brady wanted to think about it.
Dr. Baker arrived at the DiMera mansion and asked Nicole when he'd have his $750,000 hush money. EJ interrupted and wondered why Baker was there. Nicole said she'd asked Baker to come, since she knew EJ had concerns about him being her doctor. Baker asked to speak to Nicole in private. "Why?" asked EJ. Nicole fibbed that Baker just wanted to examine her and headed upstairs with him. Alone, Baker pressed Nicole for the money. Nicole said it would take time and begged Baker to keep mum about her miscarriage. Baker gave Nicole until tomorrow to get the cash or else. EJ walked in. Baker assured EJ everything was fine with Nicole and left. Nicole feigned a craving for a burger and fries and asked EJ to fetch them for her. Alone, Nicole made a secret phone call asking someone for help. Brady arrived and Nicole hit him up for a $1 million loan to pay off Baker. Brady said he didn't have that kind of money and urged Nicole to tell EJ the truth. Nicole refused and phoned Baker, asking if he'd take a deposit on the money he wanted in the form of a valuable trinket from the DiMera household. Baker agreed.
EJ ran into Victor, who warned him about Nicole. "My advice — throw the bitch out on her ass," said Victor. EJ told Victor never to speak that way about Nicole again. He and Nicole were deeply in love. Victor insisted Nicole only loved herself. If EJ thought she had changed, he was a fool. EJ called Victor a fool for believing a woman as young as Nicole was ever in love with him. Victor said they'd had an arrangement and reiterated that EJ would be sorry if he didn't heed his warning. Not to mention, bankrupt and heartbroken.
Daniel visited Kate at the hospital and reported she was doing much better and that he'd delivered her gift to Chloe. He assured Kate he'd do all he could to make sure she was home for Christmas. Kate thanked Daniel and noted that while she'd been skeptical about Chloe and Lucas at first, she didn't feel that way anymore. She really believed they were going to make it as a couple.
Tuesday
Daniel came into Kate's hospital room and gave her a "present": the news she was healthy enough to go home for Christmas. Kate hugged him. Meanwhile, Chloe talked to Lucas, but thought about Daniel. Lucas got a call from Kate summoning him to the hospital. Lucas and Chloe arrived and joined Kate and Daniel. Kate delivered the news she could go home and said she wanted pictures of the big moment. Particularly, one of the two people who saved her: Daniel and Chloe. The pair tensed up as Lucas snapped the photo. When Daniel left to phone Philip and Chelsea, Lucas and Kate commented on his weird behavior. Chloe gave Lucas and Kate a moment alone. Mother and son speculated about Daniel and Chloe's dislike for one another. Outside, Chloe ran into Daniel as a nurse arrived with the new surgery schedule. Daniel noted he wouldn't be doing any surgery in the near future. Chloe apologized for hurting Daniel's hand. Daniel reminded Chloe she already had and said he was fine.
The Titan Christmas party was in full swing. Sasha chided Melanie about her new consultant gig. Philip told Stephanie he had a surprise that was going to blow her away, but wouldn't give her a clue about what it was. Victor asked Brady if he'd made a decision about his job offer. Steph mentioned going to the Brady Christmas celebration. Philip admitted envying the way the Bradys celebrated the holiday. Steph invited him to go to it with her. After some chitchat back and forth, Philip accepted Steph's invitation and whispered in her ear that he couldn't wait for the mistletoe. A jealous Melanie was annoyed. Brady told Victor his concerns about handling the pressure of the job and staying clean, but decided he could do it and accepted the job. Melanie phoned Max and said she was coming to the pub to talk. As she left, she told Philip she knew he didn't want her around. Steph hoped Philip wasn't falling for Melanie's "poor me" act. Philip invited Steph to the Kiriakis Christmas bash as Victor and Brady emerged from Victor's office. Brady asked Steph about h er and Philip. She said they were "just friends."
Melanie arrived at the pub and told Max her news: Nick signed his project over to her and Victor made her a consultant at Titan, which annoyed Philip. Melanie whined about no one talking to her at the Titan party; that's why she needed her brother. She wished they could celebrate Christmas together. Max invited Melanie to "The Very Brady Christmas" celebration. Melanie was thrilled. She mentioned Steph being there and promised to help Max deal with it.
Back at the Titan bash, Philip told Victor the good news that Kate would be going home. Victor informed Philip about Brady's new vice CEO post and asked him to make the announcement. Philip fumed when Victor suggested Philip needed someone watching over him. Melanie, who'd returned to the party, watched in awe. Philip told Victor to make the announcement himself and stormed off. A concerned Brady realized the game Victor was playing and took off after Philip.
As Lexie and Chelsea walked along the docks with Theo, Lexie showed Theo the ships and sang to him. She hugged her son and said, "I love you." To Lexie's joy, Theo responded "I love you" right back.
As Bo wrapped Christmas presents, he was plagued by more visions. Hope asked if he was okay. "No, I'm not," responded Bo, noting he felt like he had a screw loose. Hope realized he'd had another vision and said she thought she knew why. Hope mentioned she was having nightmares about a child, and she and Bo reflected on their late son Zack. Hope walked Bo over to the Christmas tree and pointed out Zack's ornament. She'd put it on the back of the tree last year not to hurt Chelsea. Bo put it on the front of the tree. Suddenly, the smoke alarm went off. Hope ran into the kitchen. Chelsea arrived, noticed Zack's ornament, and had a meltdown. She knew Bo and Hope had to hate her somewhere deep inside. Bo assured her they didn't. Hope returned and echoed his sentiments, reminding Chelsea that Bo wouldn't be alive without her. When Hope returned to the kitchen, Chelsea told Bo about Max and Charlie the dog. Bo, however, couldn't shake a bad feeling in his head.
Back at the pier, Lexie suggested she and Theo head home and turned to get her purse. Theo ran off. Lexie screamed and raced after him. Meanwhile, Bo had visions of a child in the hospital and Lexie crying out for Theo.
Wednesday
Marlena and Brady joined John at the pub. Brady couldn't believe John was smiling. John noted it was because Blondie convinced him Christmas Eve was meant to be spent with family, "even if you don't like them." Then, he asked Marlena and Brady if they would do him a favor.
Nicole had a nightmare about EJ discovering she wasn't pregnant, going ballistic and tossing her out of the mansion. She woke up and was relieved. Later, Stefano told Nicole he wanted to apologize. Nicole assumed it was for being overbearing and dictatorial. Stefano chuckled and wished Nicole a Merry Christmas. EJ entered. Then, Tony; noting Anna was in Switzerland with Carrie and Austin. John, Marlena and Brady arrived. Soon, Stefano and John were smoking cigars, while Tony told Marlena he feared Stefano was up to something and was concerned for EJ. Nicole asked Brady for money to pay off Dr. Baker, when EJ interrupted. EJ thought Nicole looked upset and noted it happened every time Brady talked to her. Nicole blamed it on Christmas and hormones. EJ left on business. Nicole begged Brady to help her or she'd lose him. Stefano told John he hoped they could put the past behind them. John wasn't receptive. He warned Stefano not to hurt the people he loved, or he'd answer to him. Nicole took John off and begged him for money, but couldn't tell him why. John refused. Marlena told Brady she sensed a change in John and believed he was glad Brady was home. Then, she told John it was time to leave. Nicole and EJ joined Stefano by the fireplace. Stefano mused about hanging the newest member of the family's stocking up next Christmas. Later, Nicole sobbed alone and prayed for help, as EJ watched.
Daniel sat alone drinking and thinking about his encounter with Chloe in a teddy, while Chloe munched on cookies at Alice's house. Maggie caught a glimpse of her necklace. Chloe said Kate gave it to her. Maggie noted that meant Kate was sure Chloe was the right girl for Lucas. Doug and Julie strolled in with Lucas, who noted Allie was with Alice and Mickey. Chloe said she wanted to phone her parents, but called Daniel to ask about his injured finger. Daniel insisted she needn't worry about it. Lucas ran over and told Chloe to wish her parents Merry Christmas. After he left, Chloe said goodbye to Daniel. Chloe looked at a photo of Tom and Alice, prompting Lucas to ask Chloe if she wanted to have kids someday. "Is that what you'd like?" asked Chloe.
Theo ran away from Lexie on the docks, while Bo had visions of a child being wheeled into the ER. Bo ran outside and bumped int o Abe. "Where's Theo?" he asked. Abe noted he was with Lexie. Bo insisted Abe call Lexie to check on him. A panicked Lexie told Abe that Theo ran off on the pier. Soon, Bo and Abe arrived. Lexie cried. She feared Theo ran off toward the water. Bo had a vision of Lexie racing into the ER. Chelsea appeared, found Theo's stuffed dog, and noted Theo had it earlier. Bo searched the docks for Theo. Bo noticed a child in the distance. "Zack," he gasped. Zack ran off. Bo chased him. Zack caught up with Theo, and the two boys ran. Bo followed. Finally, Bo reached Zack and hugged him, but he morphed into Theo. He phoned Abe with the news. Later, Abe and Lexie were at Alice's with Theo, thanking Bo for finding their son. Hope suggested they trim the tree. John and Marlena were there, and Marlena told John this was what Christmas was all about. Maggie brought Lucas a package containing his ornament and a new one for Chloe. As fate would have it, it dropped and broke as Chloe put it to the tree. Chloe apologized. Maggie said they'd have a new ornament made for her. Doug made a toast to the Horton family and all its members. Then, he played the piano and Chloe sang "Silent Night." Marlena looked for John, who was outside phoning Dr. Taylor and telling her he needed to remember who he was.
Thursday
The Brady clan gathered at the pub before heading off to mass at St. Luke's Church. Chelsea tried her best to ease the tension between Max and Stephanie, but Steph was annoyed by Melanie's arrival. When Chelsea consoled Max, Melanie couldn't help notice the spark between them. Soon, Caroline, Roman, Bo, Hope, Steve, Kayla and the others headed off to mass. Later, Melanie decided to stir things up between Steph and Chelsea. She mentioned that Steph wasn't the only one who'd moved on from her breakup with Max. Max had, too — with Chelsea! A stunned Chelsea denied Melanie's proclamation, which came as a great relief to Steph. In fact, Steph admitted she'd have a problem with Max and Chelsea reconnecting.
Philip and Brady called a truce before their family brunch at the Kiriakis mansion began. Daniel brought Kate to the gathering so she could be with her family. The tension was thick between Daniel and Chloe, who did their best to avoid each other. But, as fate would have it, the two ended up seated next to each other at the ta ble. Finally, the two agreed they had to get past the weirdness between them. Chloe wished Daniel a merry Christmas and sealed it with a tender kiss on the cheek.
At the DiMeras mansion, EJ playfully woke up Nicole. Unfortunately, Nicole, who wasn't wearing her pregnancy pad, went into panic mode. She snapped at EJ to leave her alone. After putting pad in place, Nicole apologized to EJ for her behavior and the pair spent a nice morning together with Johnny. Later, they were surprised, when Roman showed up with Allie.
Rafe tried to cheer up Sami with a Mexican Christmas. Too bad it was a wasted effort. Despite his best efforts, Sami was still depressed about not spending the holiday with Allie and Johnny. Later, Sami gave Rafe a special gift her late grandfather Shawn had once given to her. Rafe was touched, after Sami explained its significance. In return, Rafe decided to surprise Sami with a special present, too: a webcam chat between Sami and her twins. Roman and Rafe arranged the whole thing. Sami's eyes filled up with tears, when she saw Allie and Johnny for the first time in months. EJ was deeply affected by the sight of the mother and children reunion too, which didn't go unnoticed by Nicole. It made Nicole even more desperate to keep up20her pregnancy charade. So she phoned Dr. Baker and warned him to keep his mouth shut and stop blackmailing her. Otherwise, she promised to kill him.
Lexie, Abe, and Theo spent Christmas morning at Bo and Hope's house. Abe and Lexie were saddened by Theo's lack of interest in his Christmas presents. However, Lexie was touched when Theo gave her a gift he made himself.
Later, at the hospital, Doug donned a Santa suit and read The Christmas Story to the sick children. He, Maggie and Julie were surprised when Stefano showed up with gifts for the kids. Bo and Steve ordered Stefano to leave. Stefano was reluctant to go. When Lexie pleaded with her father to go, he finally relented.
Friday
Desperate to keep Dr. Baker from spilling the beans about her miscarriage, Nicole fantasizes about killing the blackmailing medico. Afterwards, she rushes passed EJ and heads off to talk to the doctor. Meanwhile, EJ sets up a meeting with Roman and runs into Marlena and tells her about Nicole's odd behavior of late. Marlena assures EJ that Nicole's behavior is normal for a pregnant woman. EJ thanks Roman for letting Sami communicate with the twins at Christmas. He also presses Roman to find the mayor's killer so Sami can leave the safe house and return home. Marlena and Roman quickly realize that EJ still has feelings for Sami. EJ, in fact, admits those feelings aloud while alone with little Johnny. However, he realizes his place is with Nicole, who he must make a part of their lives. EJ proceeds to phone Stefano and ask for a favor.
Nicole arrives to speak with Dr. Baker and presses him to keep her secret. Again, he refuses to help her, so Nicole decides to help herself. When Dr. Baker is called away, Nicole finds his cell phone and notices it mainly contains the names and numbers of women. Nicole calls one of the numbers and threatens the woman who answers, insisting she meet with her at once. The scared woman agrees and later arrives to meet with Nicole. Nicole is stunned when she finds a pregnant teenager before her.
Chelsea questioned Melanie about remarking she saw sparks between her and Max at Christmas. Chelsea assured Melanie that she and Max were just friends. Melanie didn't buy it. She called Chelsea on protesting too much, noting she believed Chelsea had feelings for Max. Chelsea confronted Max, looking for reassurance about their strictly friendship status. Max assured her that's what they were and learned that Melanie was the one who was stirring the pot about all this. Max spoke to Melanie, who reiterated what she'd told Chelsea earlier. Melanie urged Max to go for it if he thought Chelsea could make him happy. Later, Max left Chelsea a message, noting that they needed to talk. Chelsea, who was sick of Melanie's antics and meddling, asked Victor to fire the little brat from Titan, but he refused.
Brady and Philip had it out with Victor for hiring Brady behind Philip's back. Both men threatened to quit. Victor responded by firing them. Brady and Philip teamed up and talked to Victor, insisting that firing them would be a huge mistake. Victor was pleased. It was exactly the result he was looking for, explaining that he played Brady and Philip to prove to them that they make a good team. After Victor left, Brady and Philip agreed to work together. Later, the two men arrived to work at Titan. Melanie immediately started flirting with Brady, unaware that Philip was watching it all.
Rafe discovered the church flyer Sami took during her last visit to the convent, forcing her to 'fess up about her plans. Sami explained to Rafe that she'd made a decision: she was going to give her baby to the nuns. Sami asked Rafe for his help with the plan. Rafe, who was opposed to the idea, refused. Meanwhile, danger lurked for the twosome. The mayor's killer tracked down Rafe's cell phone number and traced it to the location of the safe house.
