DAYS Week of February 21, 2011
Monday
Philip entered the Brady Pub and discovered Parker in his carriage and Chloe — with her back turned — at the bar. He lit into her for being careless with their son. She slipped about leaving him alone the day before at Maggie's when she went to the pharmacy. Philip was concerned about Chloe's mental health. He said she needed help ASAP and took her to the hospital. She insisted she just needed rest. Daniel met them and told them he made an appointment with the doctor for her.... Maxine took Chloe to a room. Melanie asked Philip what was going on.... In the exam room, Daniel pointed out that Chloe was depressed. Chloe asked Maxine to excuse them so she could talk to Daniel, but Daniel said no: She could say whatever she had to say in front of Maxine. Chloe said she didn't think she had post-partum depression. He assured her that with medication she could be fine. She asked if there was a pill for her broken heart. From his reaction, she realized that things were truly over between them.... Philip filled in Melanie about Chloe leaving the baby alone. When Philip walked away, a horrified Melanie called Kate to say that she had some information that would help them gain custody of Parker. She told Kate about Chloe's PPD. Chloe overheard Melanie on the phone and they clashed. Philip came upon their argument.
At the hospital, Nicole ran into Taylor, who was holding balloons Nic ordered for Johnny. Taylor revealed she was working in the hospital gift shop.... In a room, Sami sat with Johnny, who had received his prosthetic eye. In another room, EJ excoriated Rafe II for beating up Rafe. Nicole came in during their argument. EJ headed to Johnny's room, where Johnny's eye patch was removed and his new eye was in place. Once alone with "Rafe," Nicole asked why they were arguing. He was evasive.
In the dungeon, Stefano warned Rafe he would have to pay for not being cooperative. The Phoenix called "Rafe" and said to make sure Johnny goes home with EJ. He headed to Johnny's room. Nicole came in with balloons and said there were more gifts waiting for Johnny at home. Sami assumed Johnny would be going home with her and was confused when "Rafe" urged the boy to go home with his father. EJ agreed to let Johnny be with his mother.... "Rafe" called Stefano from the loft and reported in about the change in plans.... EJ arrived at the mansion. Stefano asked him if he remembered the plan. EJ thought that Allie should be spared since she was so close to Johnny. Stefano refused, insisting Allie would be taken away from Sami. Back at the loft, "Rafe" smoothed things over with Sami. He suggested Johnny take a nap. When Sami suggested to her son that he try to rest, Allie exclaimed that she didn't want to be alone with Rafe. "Rafe" wondered if she was still upset over the cookies. When Sami was with Johnny, "Rafe" asked Allie if she wanted to go to the park.
Nicole asked EJ to meet her at the Pub so he could finally meet Taylor. He said he was busy... EJ implored Kate to call Lucas and send Allie to see him in Hong Kong ASAP. Though concerned, she phoned her son. After, EJ called Nicole and said he could meet her after all.
Tuesday
"Rafe" tried to rally Allie for a park visit, but she wasn't into it. Allie told her mom she didn't want to go with him. "Rafe" acted bummed; Sami smiled that she would handle it. Sami urged her daughter to go and have fun, saying she could even have ice cream after. "Rafe" chimed in with Allie's favorite kind, which buoyed the little girl. Rafe and Allie left. Will came home. Lucas called Sami's cell. Will motioned that he didn't want to talk to his dad. When Sami hung up, Will groused that he didn't want to go to Hong Kong. Sami said that Lucas asked for Allie and that an old babysitter would accompany the girl on the flight. Sami suspected Kate was involved somehow in Lucas's snap decision.
In the park, "Rafe" directed Allie to the swings. He made a call, saying it was safe to "come and get" the girl. Sami arrived while Allie and "Rafe" were arguing and asked if everything was okay. "Rafe" covered. Sami revealed that Allie was leaving for Hong Kong — ASAP. The little girl was excited about seeing her dad. She confided in her mom that "Rafe was mean to her. They all headed back to the loft. "Rafe" noted that it might be a good thing for Allie to visit with Lucas. Sami agreed, saying the visit might make things all better between "Rafe" and Allie.
In the basement, Stefano mentally tortured Rafe, who then passed out.
Melanie and Chloe faced off at the hospital. Philip came upon them and asked what was up. "She's trying to take my baby from me," declared Chloe. Melanie denied it. Philip insisted Mel wouldn't do that.
Nicole sat with Taylor at the Brady Pub. Taylor, caught in a daydream about EJ, spilled coffee on herself. Nicole asked Taylor if she was thinking about "him." EJ entered and joined Nicole at the table. He asked where Taylor was. In the bathroom, Nicole reported. EJ got a call from his father, summoning him home. He apologized for not meeting Taylor and took off. Chloe came rushing in and told Nicole she couldn't be in her wedding. "I can't deal with it. I can't take pictures and stuff," she explained, then ran out. Nicole asked Taylor to take Chloe's place. She accepted.
EJ returned home; he and Stefano discussed what to do with Rafe. EJ wanted to keep him alive. Later, Rafe came to, but was warned not to try and escape again.... "Rafe" called Stefano and told him that Allie was leaving town.
On the pier, Vivian overheard Brady on the phone saying that he was now running Titan. She was thrilled. While she was congratulating him, Philip approached them, looking for Chloe. Viv realized that Philip didn't know about the turn of events at Titan and dropped the bomb that Brady was now the boss of him. Philip was rocked. "How could you do this to my father?" he asked, reminding Brady how Victor took him in, dealt with his boozing and even let Nicole live in the mansion. "You go to hell," Philip told his nephew.
At the Kiriakis manse, a bored Victor read a book. Maggie came by with Parker. Kate arrived and listened in as Maggie told Vic how fragile Chloe was at the moment. Kate rolled her eyes. She entered the living room and asked Maggie to leave Parker with his grandparents. Kate warned Victor that she didn't want Chloe raising their grandson. When Kate left, Melanie called and reported in that Chloe was prescribed antidepressants. Kate had an idea. She dropped by Maggie's under the guise of seeing Parker. She spied Chloe with a pill bottle and asked what was going on. Chloe told her about the postpartum depression and showed Kate the meds. Kate claimed that they did an article in Home & Hearth about the medication and that Chloe would feel like a whole new person once she took them. Kate implied that Daniel prescribed them so that Chloe would forget about her feelings for him. Chloe noted that unhappy feelings were part of life and she wanted Parker to see her handling things drug-free. She poured the pills down the drain and urged Kate to keep mum.
Chad visited Johnny at the loft. Johnny asked his uncle to attend Nicole and EJ's wedding so they could hang out. Chad agreed and headed chez DiMera to share the news with EJ.
Wednesday
Stefano visited a weak, despondent Rafe to taunt him again about Allie. Rafe remained mostly silent while The Phoenix talked.
Maggie offered to watch Parker so Chloe could go to Nicole's wedding, but Chloe said she needed to be there for her son. Maggie noted that the medication would help Chloe, unaware that Chloe had dumped the pills the day before. Maggie left for the ceremony. Kate came in and played some subtle mental games with a spiraling Chloe. Philip arrived during the chat and demanded to know why Kate was there. Kate insisted she was just trying to encourage Chloe to attend Nicole’s wedding. Philip didn’t buy it and kicked his mother out. He vowed to keep Kate away from Chloe and urged her to keep taking the pills. Phil gave her a reassuring hug. She kept hearing Parker crying in her head, though he was silent. Philip asked if she was okay, then told her to nap while he watched the baby. She said no, lying that Maggie was taking Parker to the wedding to show him off. Philip left. Once alone, Chloe kept imagining that Parker was crying.
Bo and Hope had coffee at the Brady Pub after visiting Ciara’s school. Hope was happy by the positive reaction she got there. Bo noted that they were both free for the first time in awhile and asked what she wanted to do. Before she could respond, Abe came in with Theo and joined them. After the meal, the Carvers headed to the wedding. Bo and Hope were about to head to the bowling alley when he got a call that Ciara wasn’t feeling well. The couple headed home to take care of her. There, Ciara admitted she didn’t really have a tummy ache and just wanted to be on a date with her parents. Hope pulled her into a big hug and laughed that she just should have said so in the first place. The family sat on the couch and watched a movie together.
Nicole, Taylor and Lexie arrived at Chez Rouge for the nups. Lexie headed out to check on her brothers. Taylor remarked to Nicole that she seemed emotional. Nicole admitted she was because she never expected to fall in love with EJ again. Taylor warned her that it wasn’t a good idea. "I love EJ," Nicole declared. "God help you," Taylor replied. After, Taylor gave Nicole a piece of gypsy lace to represent something old and borrowed. She explained that she got it from the daughter of her host family when she lived in Romania.
EJ dreamed of Taylor being in his bed, then woke with a start. He talked to Ted, one of the minions, about a woman he had met. Lexie overheard and called him on it. She wondered why he was thinking of another woman on his wedding day. He said he and Nicole had a business arrangement for the children and weren’t marrying for love. Lexie tried to talk about it more, but EJ wasn’t interested. Chad arrived and was greeted warmly by his sibs. Stefano came in next and asked Lexie to help him with his tie. They did some family bonding, then Lexie took a photo of them. The group headed to Chez Rouge. A nervous EJ asked Chad for the rings. Chad, stunned, said he didn’t have them. Johnny laughed that EJ was "punking" Chad. The brothers shared a warm moment. The music began. Taylor walked down the aisle and took her place next to EJ. They were stunned when they saw each other.
In the basement, Rafe acted sicker than he felt, which prompted Ted to check on him. Rafe swiped Ted’s phone in the process.
Philip arrived at Chez Rouge and again warned Kate to steer clear of Chloe. Kate asked where Parker was. Coming with Maggie, Philip replied. Kate revealed that wasn’t so. Maggie entered, sans baby. A worried Philip took off. At Maggie’s, Chloe wrote a note, asking for forgiveness for what she was about to do. "I just can’t take it anymore," she said to herself. Philip rushed into Maggie’s and found the note. On the pier, Chloe held the baby in her arms and said she had no choice.
Thursday
EJ and Taylor were stunned to see each other at the wedding. "You?" the said in unison. Nicole prepared to walk down the aisle and spied her groom and sister staring at each other intently. "What the hell just happened here?" she whispered to herself, then approached the duo and demanded to know what was going on. EJ dismissed it as nothing, then explained that he and Taylor had already met. Lexie immediately realized this was the girl EJ was trying to find. EJ tried to smooth things over, but Nicole wanted answers. EJ pointed out that they were doing it for Johnny and Sydney and that a chance encounter with her sister didn't mean anything. Nic agreed to carry on, which thrilled EJ. "Do over!" he exclaimed. Nicole walked down the aisle again. She and EJ began to say their vows. Taylor passed out. EJ caught her in time before she fell to the floor.
In the basement, Rafe coughed violently. Ted, the DiMera minion, checked on him. Rafe swiped Ted's phone. When Ted left to fetch the doctor, Rafe called 911 and got patched through to Roman, who was at the Pub. Rafe told his father-in-law that he was in trouble. Unfortunately, Ted returned and got Rafe in a stronghold before he could elaborate.
Rafe II left a message for EJ and Stefano, saying things were progressing well with Sami. He walked into the Brady Pub and encountered Roman, who angrily asked him about the phone call. Rafe II was confused. Roman tried to get a trace on the call. Rafe II quickly admitted that he had indeed called Roman. When Roman pressed him to explain, "Rafe" claimed that he had a bad headache and pulled over to call 911 but called Roman instead because he wanted back on the force and didn't want his headaches to be public record. "Rafe" apologized. Roman warned him not to drive with Sami and the kids in the car if he was having headaches. "Rafe" asked for help being reinstated. Roman said he would try, but that "Rafe" had to get a physical first. Roman left; "Rafe" called Ted and asked how the real Rafe got his hands on a cell phone.
Stefano got an urgent text and had to leave the wedding. Lexie tended to Taylor and the wedding resumed. EJ and Nicole were pronounced husband and wife. Taylor looked on somberly. She and EJ exchanged glances.
Rafe II met Stefano on the pier and blabbed about what happened with Rafe earlier. He congratulated himself for diffusing the situation but said he thought Rafe should be killed. Stefano pointed out that wasn't his call.
Philip found Chloe's suicide note and got a clue where she was. On the pier, Chloe asked God for forgiveness for what she was about to do. She pinned a note to the baby and told Parker that he needed a better mom than her. "You're gonna be so happy, you'll never even miss me," she said, then plunged into the freezing waters. Philip raced to the pier, found the baby and the note, then realized Chloe had jumped in to the river.
Daniel entered Jennifer's room before she was released. She was very agitated. He tried to get her to talk things out but she was closed off. He asked if it was about Jack, noting that neither Jen's husband nor children were at the hospital, which concerned him. Jen insisted she was strong and would always be there for her children. They enjoyed some verbal sparring, then Jen hugged Daniel and thanked him for saving her. He said if someone didn't come to get her in 20 minutes, he would take her home. They walked out into the reception area to find a soaked Philip holding an unconscious Chloe. Philip revealed Chloe had jumped. Daniel and a nurse wheeled her away. Jen gave Philip a blanket, then went to fetch Parker, who was with a nurse. Daniel came back with towels and scrubs for Philip and asked what happened. Philip filled him in. Daniel blamed himself for giving Chloe the wrong meds. Philip pointed out that Chloe was still in love with Daniel, but the doc didn't want to hear it. Philip entered Chloe's room. She was staring off into space. Philip approached the bed and asked if she was okay. He assured her that none of it was her fault. "We both know that's not true," she said softly.... Daniel came upon Jen with Parker. He was visibly uncomfortable to see the baby. She called him on it. "You don't want to love him, but you do," she noted. Daniel admitted it was harder than he thought to be around Parker, then picked the adorable baby up.
Friday
EJ and Nicole were pronounced husband and wife. After, Nicole tried to casually grill her sister about how she knew EJ. Taylor searched for a response, then Chad walked up to congratulate Nic, so she was spared. Kate was next and she and Nicole exchanged some choice words. Maggie broke it up. While Nicole checked in on Sydney, Taylor and EJ had an awkward moment alone. Maggie walked up and congratulated EJ, noting she had never seen Nicole so happy before. EJ thanked her and excused himself. Taylor was about to get some air when Nicole returned and asked again how Taylor knew EJ. Taylor fumbled around the truth. Before the conversation could really get going, Johnny ran over and spilled something on Nicole's dress. While Nicole was tending to it, EJ told Taylor that they needed to talk. Taylor asked if he had been thinking about her or fantasizing about her like she had about him. Before he could answer, Nicole returned.... Abe counseled Chad that there was still time to run away from the DiMera clan. Chad said he was a DiMera no matter what and hoped to handle things as well as Lexie did. The mayor welcomed Chad to the family and told him how impressed he was by Chad's easygoing manner with Theo and Johnny.
A concerned Philip checked in on a sleeping Chloe. After, he talked to Maxine about the meds Chloe was taking. Maxine tried to reassure him that Chloe would be okay. Melanie was surprised to see Philip in scrubs. Philip reluctantly revealed that something happened with Chloe. Maxine gave Chloe's chart to Melanie. Mel was stunned to learn of the suicide. Philip told her how it all happened. Melanie said they had to take Parker away from Chloe because she was insane. Phil was worried about what it would do to Chloe, but Melanie stood firm.
Maxine entered Chloe's room and admitted that she, too, had postpartum depression. Chloe got a boost from the chat. Philip came in after and Chloe confessed that she didn't really take the meds Daniel had prescribed. She explained that she worried the pills would put her in a fog and make her feel worse. Philip wondered why she would think that. Chloe revealed Kate told her they would.... Melanie called Kate and filled her in about Chloe's suicide attempt. Kate hurried over to the hospital. Philip came out of Chloe's room and spied them together. He confronted his mother about her manipulating Chloe info dumping the medication. Kate insisted she was not at fault, but Philip didn't buy it. He then turned on Melanie and warned them both to stay away from Chloe. He went back into Chloe's room. Melanie asked if Kate really urged Chloe to dump her pills. Kate wanted her to stay focused on the ultimate goal: Getting Parker away from Chloe.
Roman visited Bo and Hope. He revealed that Bo was cleared of all charges relating to the prison break and he would be reinstated ASAP. Bo knew there was more. He was right: Roman revealed that Hope couldn't be reinstated. Bo was furious, but Hope said it was okay. She was sure everything would be fine. Roman took off. Once alone, Bo asked how Hope was really doing. She said she wanted to be positive in light of everything that had happened, adding that she had a lot to keep her occupied between Ciara, Jennifer, Maggie, etc. Things got flirty between them and they began kissing. Hope pulled away. "Too soon?" Bo asked. Hope admitted she was confused by what was going to happen next between them.
