Monday

Lexie arrived at the safe house to check on the feverish baby Allie
and told EJ she had croup. EJ admitted loving Allie as much as Johnny
and said he would help Sami raise both babies while Lucas was in
prison. Lexie pointed out that Sami and Lucas love each other. EJ
understood, but noted that Sami was starting to trust him and while
Lucas was away, he'd be the one there with her and the kids. Lexie
received a page and phoned the hospital. She asked about a blood sample
on a patient and ordered more tests. As Lexie prepared to go, EJ asked
if she thought they did the right thing with Stefano. She did. Then,
for some reason, Kayla decided to break doctor/patient confidentiality
and told EJ that Kayla was pregnant.
At the jail, Sami talked to Lucas, who was upset she didn't bring
Allie with her. He asked Sami to promise she'd bring their daughter to
see him before he headed to the big house. Sami begged Lucas to fight
the charges against him. Lucas yelled that he wasn't getting out of
this. He pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of EJ. He admitted
feeling horribly about what he'd done to their family. Sami begged
Lucas to change his plea. He said he couldn't and told Sami not to wait
for him, since he'd probably serve 10 to 20 years. Sami flipped. Lucas
said he didn't ask her there to fight, but to say goodbye and hold her
in his arms one last time. Lucas asked Sami to promise she'd never stop
loving him. Sami cried that Lucas was her one and only love, and they
kissed. Then, Sami left, sobbing.
In Ireland, Chloe and Philip walked and talked. Chloe was worried
about Brady. Philip wondered if she was really worried about being
arrested. Chloe countered by asking if Philip was sincere about his new
bond with Shawn. Philip insisted he was. He was done chasing Belle.
Meanwhile, Steve, Kayla and Grandpa Shawn arrived at the inn. Steve
told his father-in-law they had a surprise for him, but suggested he
take a nap, first. Shawn and Belle took him upstairs. In their room, Bo
complained to Hope about his aching back. Then, the couple went back
and forth about Colleen's decision to pretend she was dead all these
years. Marlena, who was bunking with John, slept as he slipped a knife
into his boot and prepared to head out for breakfast. Marlena awoke and
stopped him in his tracks, just as the room service she ordered
arrived. The pair ate and chatted. John assured Marlena he wasn't going
to kill anyone, especially Colleen. The maid arrived and said Colleen
wanted everyone to come to her room.
Everyone gathered and took Grandpa Shawn into Colleen's room. "Leeny.
Oh, it can't be," he cried. Colleen explained how she'd wanted everyone
to think she was dead and ran away instead of jumping off that cliff.
She asked her brother if he could ever forgive her. Grandpa Shawn
thanked God for bringing his sister back; then, Kayla urged him to go
get some rest and return later. Bo introduced Colleen to Steve and
Kayla. Colleen thanked Bo for bringing her brother to her. Bo lectured
Colleen about letting him think she was dead. Colleen said she'd
watched them all over the years and tried to protect them. Kayla said
Stefano was catatonic, and Colleen hoped it would mean the end of this
insanity. Colleen asked if life had been good to John and said she
hoped he'd find his son. John growled. Everyone started to leave, but
John and Marlena stayed behind. Downstairs, Kayla got Bo alone and
asked him to sit down, there was something she and Steve had to tell
him. Steve warned it wasn't good. Upstairs, John asked for a moment
alone with Colleen. When Marlena refused, John knocked her unconscious
and pulled out his knife. "Why in the name of God are you doing this?"
asked Colleen.

Tuesday

Colleen asked what John planned to do. He said he was sent to kill her. "Hell would be a walk in the park; it's what you'll be facing if you slit my throat," noted Colleen. "You're condemning me to a fate worse than hell?" laughed John, insisting he had to fulfill his
mission. Marlena woke up and begged John to stop; he wasn't a killer.
Then, Colleen shocked him and announced she was his mother and could prove it. Colleen held up her medallion, which Marlena recognized immediately. Marlena showed John a picture of him and his mother that she'd found in his jacket pocket the night of the accident. The woman was wearing the same medallion. Colleen recounted how she found out she
was pregnant after she faked her suicide. That child was John. She went
to Argentina, where a group of nuns took her in. When the Mother Superior said it was time for them to leave, Colleen sent John to an orphanage, intending to get him back. She found work as a seamstress. Then, her hand was injured in a sewing machine accident, and she got tetanus and was delirious in a hospital for two months. When Colleen
returned to the orphanage, John was gone. Colleen never stopped looking
for him. "So, Santo DiMera is my father?" asked John. Colleen confirmed
he was. Marlena asked when Stefano found out Colleen was alive. Colleen said it was about a year ago, noting that Stefano became obsessed with finding her. Marlena thought John finding Colleen was fate. "It was God," corrected Colleen. John put his knife up to Colleen's neck, but then he pulled it away and ran off.

Shawn watched Claire sleep while a series of flashbacks played: Claire getting taken by Rob while Shawn sat at Belle's hospital bedside. Shawn was about to leave Claire sleeping when Belle walked in the door. There were more flashbacks of Kayla and Steve bringing Shawn Sr. in, all happy about having Claire back. Belle asked if something was bothering him. Shawn was
uneasy about Kayla and Steve suddenly showing up. She said to kick back
and breathe for a while because they brought Grandpa Shawn here to see
Colleen, nothing more. Shawn asked Belle if he saw how Kayla and Steve
were acting. Just then, Claire woke up and said she had a good nap and
a happy dream. Shawn said he felt like he was still dreaming.

Kayla and Steve told Bo they got the test results back right after Hope and Bo came to Ireland. Kayla admitted the results were "troubling" and more tests had to be done. Hope walked in and asked
what they were talking about. The trio deflected, and Steve took Hope out for a walk. Alone, Bo and Kayla talked about his mystery illness. Outside, Hope asked Steve what was going on. Steve said Bo was having a rough time and needed some space.

Billie asked Victor why he believed Crawford wouldn't go after Chelsea
anymore. Victor said he made him a proposition, and he accepted it.
Roman came in with an autopsy report, which revealed Ford died from
falling down the stairs. Crawford arrived and Roman repeated the report
results, adding there was no evidence supporting it was anything but an
accident. Crawford huffed. Billie wondered why he was doing this now.
Crawford said his son was dead, there was nothing else he could do. An
angry Victor took Crawford, noting he was concerned about how Decker
was treating Chelsea. It was inappropriate. Crawford promised to
apologize. Victor told him to wait in his study while he took a call from
Philip, explaining that Colleen Brady was the one who took Claire to
protect her from Stefano. He told Victor she was old and fragile, and
he didn't believe she was behind Brady's disappearance. He promised Victor he'd stick around longer to continue investigating. Victor called Bo to give him an update on Chelsea, saying Decker wasn't an issue anymore. Bo told everyone the good news. Meanwhile, at the Kiriakis mansion, Kate thanked Roman for a job well done. Crawford came
out and apologized to Chelsea, who said she was sorry, too. "Well done,
Victor," praised Roman on his way out. Victor told Billie she also did a
good job. Billie said she would have to add that to her resume, because
the university fired her. Victor promptly offered Billie a job in
Titan's London office. Billie accepted. That is, unless Chelsea didn't want her to go. Chelsea encouraged her mom to take the gig, as long as she could visit her often.

Back in Ireland, Kayla and Steve urged Bo and Hope to get home to Chelsea. Bo agreed, while Hope wondered why their pals were trying to get rid of them. Suddenly, Marlena raced in, telling Bo that John had run off.

Wednesday

At the Cheatin' Heart, Max theorized that Victor fixed the autopsy results on Ford that claimed his death an accident. "I hid the body," he pointed out, of his own culpability. Hey, at least Chelsea's problems were over. Or were they? Morgan and the sisters weren't thrilled by the drama she'd stirred up. "Chelsea saved you guys!" Nick pointed out. Max pulled Morgan aside as Stephanie boggled at her motivation for going after Chelsea. Morgan made small talk about Max taking over the Cheatin' Heart from Adrienne and Max got her to level about Chelsea. Steph admitted the tête-à-tête bothered her. Max and Morgan came back to the group and Morgan said she wouldn't vote against Chelsea in a meeting. Chelsea was bummed at the prospect of losing the first place she'd felt accepted. "I may not know the secret handshake,"
sighed Nick, sweetly, "but I love you and I'm not going anywhere."
Stephanie voted Morgan out of "my own personal friendship group" and Max accused her of being jealous. "I kinda like it," he grinned.

Chloe (clearly on a great international cellphone plan) turned down an offer from an opera company in Milan "because it was the understudy" role. Philip didn't buy her excuse for a minute. The duo had a surprisingly nice bonding moment over their romantic woes.

In Ireland, Marlena revealed to Team Brady that John was armed and tried to kill Colleen. Marlena had even more "shocking" and "unexpected" news:
Colleen is John's mother! The Brady guys immediately went out looking for John. Out in the woods, John contemplated his shiny knife and flashed back on Colleen talking to him. Inside, the Brady ladies marveled over their new connection to Stefano. Meanwhile, Bo walked up on John holding his knife to his own throat and tried to talk him down like a spooked colt. They struggled for the blade and RoboJohn got the upper hand. Belle, meanwhile, took Claire up to see Grandma Colleen. Downstairs, Chloe wondered what the DiMera tie meant for Brady and everyone else realized Grandpa Shawn needed to be told! After a manly tussle, Bo and John broke apart and John admitted all he wanted was peace since he'd chosen not to kill his target, his own mother. "We're like brothers," Bo told John, reaching to the human side of him. "I don't feel anything," John said stoically. Bo told him the life he has with Marlena and Belle is "better than the alternative." They trooped back to the pub together where Marlena chided John for trying to off himself. Meanwhile, out in the woods, Shawn and Philip walked up on Steve on the phone with Kayla. Steve covered when they asked who was "dying." After Belle and Colleen had time together, Grandpa Shawn came up to convince Colleen to come to Salem. Nearby, John was less concerned about his suicide attempt and more interested in his bank account. Bo fiercely kissed Hope and told her he loves her. Steve told Kayla to tell Hope the truth so they could get Bo home for tests. As Hope asked young Shawn if he and Belle are reuniting, Colleen told Grandpa Shawn she's dying and all she wants is her family around her one last time. Marlena told RoboJohn he needs her, since he doesn't know what he wants. Nearby, as everyone discussed mysterious back pain they all seemed to have (it's like meningitis, except not), Steve and Kayla stepped up to confront Bo about his health. Their timing stunk, though, because Shawn called the clan upstairs to see Colleen.

Thursday

Chloe and Philip discussed Colleen gathering the Bradys together to announce she was dying and what cruel irony it was. Philip got a call from Lexie, who was trying to reach Kayla. He gave Lexie a report on what was transpiring in Ireland, then asked what her call was about. Lexie said it was personal, so Philip said he'd deliver the message. He and Chloe went back to talking about Colleen's imminent death. Chloe believed when it was time, you accepted it and felt at peace. Philip hoped Colleen would find peace. He said it was strange they hadn't heard anything about Brady yet and that there hadn't been any ransom requests. He asked if Brady had enemies. Chloe said he didn't. Philip doubted Stefano was behind his disappearance. It had to be somebody who had something to gain; they just had to figure out whom.

Meanwhile, the Bradys gathered at Colleen's bedside as Grandpa Shawn prayed that something could be done to save her. Colleen explained she's had cancer for years, and there wasn't much anyone could do. Grandpa Shawn couldn't believe God would bring them together, just to have Colleen die. "God isn't cruel, but sometimes fate can be," said Colleen, believing people reaped what they sowed. "Then you're pretty much damned for being a liar and betraying your sacred vows to God," retorted John, admitting he was "disappointed" he hadn't killed her. Grandpa Shawn raged, as Bo and company warned John to back off. Marlena thought Colleen wanted forgiveness. John didn't think she deserved it, calling Colleen cruel for dumping Santo. Colleen countered that she loved Santo enough to let him go. John said Colleen didn't do them any favors by faking her death. Stefano spent a lifetime punishing the Bradys, because Santo became a bitter man. Colleen thought things would have been different if Stefano had learned to love like Santo loved. She hoped Santo's kindness was somewhere inside John. "I don't want to be that man," insisted John.

Colleen called Belle and Shawn to her bedside and told them they were the future of the Brady family. Then, she summoned Bo and said he had the Brady spirit, even though he wasn't really a Brady. Colleen urged Hope to stand by Bo, praised Kayla for being "a healer," and bonded with Marlena. Colleen then asked for time alone with Grandpa Shawn and John. In the hall, Belle and Hope went on about what an amazing woman Colleen is. Inside, Grandpa Shawn regretted ever telling his father Santo was married. John remained detached. Marlena walked Shawn out, as Colleen revealed her dying wish was to hold John. Finally, he walked over and sat down on Colleen's bed, and she hugged him. Marlena summoned the others to return. Colleen begged John to hold her one last time, and he obliged. Then, Colleen passed away.

The Brady bunch convened downstairs. Philip told Kayla that Lexie called. Kayla phoned her back and filled Lexie in on Colleen's death. Lexie countered by asking if Kayla had spoken to Bo Hope, noting she needed to run more tests. Finally, Lexie delivered the good news: Kayla was pregnant. Meanwhile, Chloe told Shawn and Belle they needed each other now. Belle wondered if she and Shawn were back together. "Do you think we can make it work?" he asked. Belle did, and Shawn took her hand. Grandpa Shawn bemoaned losing his sister a second time.

Upstairs, Marlena asked John what he was feeling, "sadness, grief, anger, love?" "None of the above," noted John. Marlena noticed something in John's eyes and asked if he was remembering. He said he wasn't. Marlena left, but John remained behind. He uncovered Colleen's body, whispered goodbye, and kissed her forehead. Then, he wiped a tear from his face.

Friday

Sami checked on Allie, who wasn't in her crib. She found her on a sleeping EJ's lap. When EJ woke up, Sami thanked him for helping her with the twins. Sami suggested they start packing. Since Stefano was in a coma, they should be able to go home. EJ thought they needed to wait for Abe to give them the okay, since Stefano's minions could still carry out his orders. EJ asked Sami about Lucas. Sami said she needed to talk to him about something else. She reminded EJ that Lucas is Allie's father and she didn't want him crossing any lines. EJ said he cared for Allie. With Lucas in jail, at least she'd have some kind of father figure in her life. Sami sobbed, and EJ apologized for upsetting her. Sami went on about how both Lucas and Allie would suffer for what he'd done. They'd be strangers to each other. EJ promised to be there and love Allie. Sami sobbed some more, and EJ hugged her. EJ assured Sami she would be parent enough for both twins. Soon, Sami got a call from Lucas and freaked. "I'll be right there," she said, telling EJ that Lucas just had his sentencing hearing, and she had to go say goodbye.

Max ran into Chelsea, who claimed to just finish jogging. Chelsea suggested they take a walk. They took a few steps and found Nick and Stephanie, who were gathered for Max's surprise birthday bash. The foursome had a snowball fight, then enjoyed a picnic in the park.
Chelsea toasted to an adventurous, jail-free year ahead. Steph toasted to her three best friends who stuck by her. Max opened his present from Steph: a stuffed horse. "Every knight in shining armor needs a horse," noted Steph. Max loved the gift and his party. Steph said she had another present for Max and planted some kisses on him.

Bo and Steve discussed the mystery illness. Bo vowed not to let it get him down — then stumbled and almost fell down. Bo insisted he was fine.
He was worried how Hope was going to take the news. Steve suggested Bo tell her. Bo said no. Back at the pub, Kayla phoned Lexie and said they were trying to get a flight home today, and assured her they'd head straight to the hospital. Hope emerged and asked what secret Kayla, Steve and Bo were keeping from her. Kayla avoided answering, as Steve and Bo returned.

Marlena announced that she'd found a letter to the Bradys from Colleen. It contained her wishes for her funeral arrangements. "Why go to all the trouble?" asked John. Marlena scolded him for not being more sensitive. Colleen was his mother. Belle got on his case, too. John said he wasn't the man they remembered. Marlena read Colleen's letter, noting her ashes would be arriving soon. John went to leave the room. Marlena told him not to be gone long, so he could participate in the memorial. Soon, Marlena presented the urn. Grandpa Shawn couldn't bring himself to speak about Colleen and John didn't care to. Bo stepped up and began eulogizing his aunt, calling her a feisty woman who loved her family and Santo. They had a connection that surpassed time and space. He prayed they'd find happiness together in the afterlife.

The Bradys scattered Colleen's ashes. (Santo and Colleen flashbacks were interspersed between the tosses.) Later, the gang returned to the pub, where John's pilot informed them he was ready to head back home. Philip thanked John for letting him and Chloe hitch a ride on his jet. Shawn and Belle discussed their weird biological relationship. Marlena noticed John was gone. Meanwhile, a woman watched from outside. Steve spotted and chased her, while John walked outside and saw the ghosts of Santo and Colleen. Meanwhile, back in Salem, EJ wished Sami luck as she was leaving to see Lucas. The inched awkwardly closer to each other as Santo and Colleen reunited.
