On his and Melanie's wedding day, Philip ran into his mother at the Brady Pub and he accused her of pot-stirring where Vivian was concerned. She insisted that she wasn't and that Ms. Alamain was up to something. Philip told his mom he'd see her at the wedding and stormed off.

Vivian went into Melanie's bedroom and woke her up. She gave the bride-to-be a necklace that was her mother's. She put it on the teen and got emotional. Mel asked why she was upset. Viv insisted she was full of joy. They argued about Melanie saying she couldn't marry Philip. Melanie pointed out that she was young and made foolish choices sometimes. Vivian told Mel she was fickle and needed to marry Philip — even if it killed her. Viv asked Mel if she was in love with someone else. Melanie heard a knocking on the door and yelled out for someone to answer it. It was Carly, who was there to tell Melanie the truth. Carly slipped on the ice near the door and fell backwards. She hit her head and passed out. Victor opened the door to get the paper and found her there. He stepped over Carly to retrieve it, then brushed the snow off of it onto her. Victor returned and Henderson revealed that breakfast was ready. Vic informed him that trash had collected outside and that Henderson should call an ambulance. Outside, Carly stirred, saying, "Melanie ... My baby."

Back upstairs, Melanie admitted there was another man but said she didn't need Vivian to make her feel worse about it. Viv deduced it was Nathan, which surprised Melanie. Mel said she hadn't acted on her feelings for Dr. H but that something "didn't take" when they broke up. Vivian told her it was too late and she had to marry Philip. Melanie fell apart, crying that she needed to talk to Maggie and Max because she "couldn't do this."

Philip returned home, with Kate on his heels. "Vivian is planning something," she repeated. He warned her not to stir up trouble or else she'd be thrown out. Victor overheard and seconded the emotion. He barred Kate from the house until the nups started. Philip headed upstairs and overheard Melanie's last words to Vivian. He asked what was going on. She said he wasn't supposed to see her before the wedding. Vivian excused herself and ran into Gus in the hallway. He told her what happened to Carly. She ordered him to get details. "We can't have hiccups; the plan has to go perfectly," she whispered. Back in the room, Philip asked Melanie what was up. She covered by saying she didn't think she deserved him. "I don't feel worthy of you," she cried. "You expect me to believe that?" he countered. She said it was true. He told her everything would be fine and left. Vivian returned and asked Melanie how she was doing. Mel said she felt very loved by Phil and was going to go through with the wedding. Vivian handed her the pink gift box.

Arianna bumped into Chloe on the pier, which caused Chloe to drop the pregnancy test she was holding. Chloe admitted she was worried about the pregnancy because things could still go wrong. She wasn't telling Daniel yet, she added. Chloe headed home with her tests.

Brady spied Daniel interacting with a young boy at the Java Caf. He told Daniel that he was going to make a good dad. Daniel said it wasn't going to happen, then explained that Chloe's chemo damaged her ovaries and her ability to conceive was unlikely. Brady was shocked. Daniel headed out and ran into Lucas on the pier. He asked Lucas for a favor. "What, are you kidding me?" Lucas asked. Daniel walked away, but Lucas stopped him, saying if the favor was for Chloe, then he'd help. Daniel asked if Chloe could spend time with Allie, which Lucas found absurd. Lucas pointed out that it would only hurt Allie. Lucas suggested Daniel give Chloe a child of her own so she wouldn't obsess and pine over his.

Brady went to the Pub and gave Arianna a gift that had belonged to Isabella. She was touched. He realized that he put the gift in a ring box and he asked if she thought it was something else. She said no. He said that while he didn't know his mother well, he believed she would approve of his dating Ari.

Hope went to the station, where one of the officers said he missed her and asked when she'd be back. Abe came in and said that's what he wanted to know. He told Hope they needed him. He wondered if there was a possibility that she and Bo could work things out. "There is no working it out. Bo made his choice for both of us. He's with Carly now," she replied. Abe gave her a pep talk and told her to fight for her husband, for Ciara's sake. Abe then returned Hope's badge to her and welcomed her back to the force.... Kate arrived at the station and spied Hope. She told Detective Brady that she's worried about Philip, Melanie and Vivian and detailed what went down with the gift that Kate swiped from the house. She added that she overheard Vivian conspiring with Gus, but didn't hear what they said. She told Hope that Vivian needed to be stopped.

Bo went to the hospital to look for Carly and ran into Lexie, who revealed that Carly had been admitted after slipping on the ice. Bo entered her room and asked what happened. She didn't remember. He got a call and had to take off. Daniel arrived to check on Carly. He told her she would have to stay overnight, but she said no way. She asked where the EMTs picked her up. He told her at Victor's house. She didn't know why she was there.
