Monday
A stony-faced Nick showed up to meet Chelsea at the Brady Pub and remained angry about being drawn into the cover-up of Ford's death. He said he couldn't promise to remain silent, noting that he'd seen Ford's parents on the news, and Decker's mother was crying and begging for info about her son. Billie strolled in and announced that the police found a contact lens in the basement at the sorority house and the lens matches Ford's prescription. Chelsea tried to come up with excuses, but Billie didn't buy it. Observing Nick's awkwardness, Billie asked what he knew. Nick claimed not to know anything about it. Afterward, Chelsea thanked Nick, who urged her to come clean — or else he'd walk away for good.
At the Java Café, Belle was furious with Philip for covering Chloe's legal costs. "Do you think that I'm just imagining the fact that my brother's missing, and she's the No. 1 suspect? And here you are helping her get away with it." She questioned his friendship, saying that she can't trust him. Crystal, pretending to read a newspaper, spied on the duo. Philip asked Belle for five minutes and pleaded with her to not just write him off. He was disappointed by Belle's desire to reconcile with Shawn. After Belle and Claire left with a police guard, Crystal met Rob outside the café and followed their target. Later, as the escort drove Belle and Claire home, he stepped out of the car to check on an abandoned van. Meanwhile, Philip called Belle to say he respects whatever decision she makes, even if it means she wants to be with Shawn. Steps away, Rob pulled a gun on the cop and fired. Belle cried out as Philip listened helplessly. Belle let Philip know her location and begged for help. Crystal hopped in the driver's seat as Claire cried and Rob pulled Belle out of the car. By the time Philip showed up, Belle and Claire were gone, but he found the cop, who was okay and thankful Rob only fired rubber bullets.
Bo was dubious of EJ's claim that John is alive. Marlena begged him to tell her the truth and EJ revealed that John is in Dr. Rolf's lab in the basement of the DiMera mansion. In the meantime, Stefano and Rolf enthusiastically monitored John's progress. Rolf still wanted more time to work with John, but Stefano insisted that Rolf, "make this happen."... EJ reported to Bo, Hope, Sami and Marlena that John was sedated and restrained and that Stefano planned some sort of mission. As a teary Marlena thanked him, Sami stared up at EJ with an awestruck expression. Bo made plans to go get John and EJ agreed to make a statement. Afterward, Sami thanked EJ. As they sat by the fire, he spoke of how much he'd loved his father when he was a boy, sadly noting that now he'd betrayed him.
Hope, toting a gun, and Marlena crept into Stefano's mansion and headed to the basement, where they saw John, strapped into a high-tech chair. As poignant violin music played, Marlena gazed at John. Hope left to get Bo. Shortly thereafter, Bo and Roman turned up at the mansion. As they demanded to know where John was, Marlena walked up to John, who was wearing some sort of programming goggle thing-y, which she removed it from his face. As she softly said his name, John just stared ahead. He suddenly turned to look at her with a blank look on his face. "What have they done," she whispered.
Tuesday
Sami arrived to the scene of Belle and Claire's abduction, where Philip
brought her up to speed. She was stunned to hear that Phillip hadn't
bothered to notify Shawn. Elsewhere, Belle and Claire were in a van driven
by Crystal, who insisted that she and Rob were protecting them from Stefano.
At the DiMera mansion, a blas Stefano puffed a cigar and fingered
his chess set as Roman and Bo demanded to know where John was. Hope rushed
up from the basement to report that they'd found him. Meanwhile, in the
basement lab, Marlena was with John, who had no memory of her. Bo and Hope
went down to the lab where Marlena informed them that John doesn't know who
they are because all his memories have been erased. A skittish John said he
wanted to leave before his captors returned with needles. Back upstairs,
Stefano amazingly reasoned to Roman that he'd done a "wonderful and selfless
act." Roman called DiMera "a sick man" and warned that he'd pay for it. The
Blacks and Bradys entered the room. Hope got a call about Belle's kidnapping
and took off, Roman arrested Stefano, who paused to taunt Marlena about
losing John. John attacked Stefano, but Rolf quickly injected him with
something that knocked him out. Before being hauled off, the Phoenix asked
who told the cops about "our little endeavor," but they didn't tell him it
was EJ. Stefano threatened that "this is only the beginning" and left.
Max and Theta entered the Theta house after a snowball fight. She
stiffened and pulled away when Max got physical. He apologized and left.
Chelsea came home and informed Steph that the cops found a contact lens
matching Ford's prescription in the sorority house basement. Stephanie
flipped when Chelsea divulged that Nick is pressing her to come clean and
making noises about telling the cops himself. Stephanie argued that they owe
it to the Theta girls and Max to keep mum. Chelsea, however, said that she
thinks Nick is right. Stephanie burst into tears and referred to "the
nightmare" that Ford put her through. She tried to cover and say she was
talking about Cordy's nightmare, but Chelsea didn't buy it. They were
interrupted by banging on the door; it was Crawford Decker, Ford's father,
who knew about the contact lens and accused the girls of killing his son. He
threatened to put all the girls in jail. Stephanie cried that Ford was
rapist, "He raped Cordy and he raped me," she sobbed. Mr. Decker observed
that it sounds like Stephanie has an ax to grind. After he departed, Chelsea
asked Stephanie if Ford really raped her and Stephanie told her the sad
story, saying that she wishes she'd blacked out. Chelsea comforted her, but
still wanted to call the sisters to discuss going to the police.
Shawn got the word on the abduction and showed up at the scene of the crime,
where he confronted Philip. The men took turns blaming each other for the
predicament. Sami and Hope, who'd just shown up, ordered them to cut it
out.... Crystal made reference to Brady, but wouldn't tell Belle what she
was talking about, only assuring Belle that she's okay and is "with family."
Wednesday
Philip and Shawn bickered as they sat at the docks, on the lookout for the van carrying Belle and Claire. Shawn declared that once the abduction drama ends, he'll keep Claire away from Philip. Meanwhile, Crystal stopped the van in an alley in an attempt to escape police helicopters. She claimed that she's not looking for ransom and is only protecting Belle and Claire. Crystal instructed Belle to feed Claire from a bottle filled with cough medicine in order to sedate the child. Of course, Belle refused. Back on the pier, Bo reported to Philip and Shawn that they were keeping tabs on the van's location. In the freezing van, Crystal poured coffee from a thermos and Belle asked for some. Crystal told her to be careful because it's hot. Belle threw it in Crystal's face, hit her and fled the van with Claire. Meanwhile, on the pier, Bo pulled a gun on Rob and demanded to know where the captives were. Just then, Belle ran up and all hell broke loose. Rob grabbed Claire and used her as a shield.
At the hospital, John, who was restrained, asked Marlena to break him out. Despite her refusal, he persisted, saying, "You're hot. Use it. Find a cop. Smile that smile. Get a key and I'm gone." Doc continued to try to get through to him, crying as she told him how much she missed him when she thought he was dead. He kept pressuring her to bust him out. Marlena informed him that she doesn't take orders and won't help someone who doesn't remember her. John pouted as Marlena pulled out family photos of Brady and Belle. He remained frosty as she showed him a picture of Claire.
On the waterfront, Shawn tried to grab Rob's gun and there was total pandemonium: Rob ran off with Claire and Belle fell in the water; Philip, dove in after her. Rob took Claire back to the van, where Crystal was a total sorehead about getting coffee thrown in her face. Philip fished Belle from the frigid water and performed CPR, begging her not to die on him. Bo announced that an ambulance was on the way and that the cops were following the van.
In John's room, he threatened to scream if Marlena didn't help him, Marlena countered that she'd have him put in a straightjacket. "Nice move," he conceded. "I thought you'd like it," she quipped with a triumphant smile. He asked to see Claire's photo again. She asked if he'd like to meet the family. He said that he'd do it if it would shut Marlena up. She said that when he meets them, he'll never want to go. "Don't count on it," he responded. When John tired of Marlena, he shouted for a nurse, instructing her to throw out Marlena. That backfired, the nurse said she was ordered to sedate John if he became violent. John pleaded that he didn't want any more drugs. Marlena told the nurse that she's overriding Dr. Carrington's orders, which impressed John, who remarked, "So, you're hot, smart. What else should I know about you?" After some more round-and-round, Marlena said "Our love is too strong to be forgotten, no matter what Stefano does to you."
As the EMT worked on Belle, she went into cardiac arrest. Philip watched in horror as one of the medics said, "She's gone." He yelled at them to keep trying to revive her, but they didn't listen and started to pull the blanket over her face. Suddenly, Belle gasped. She's alive! The thoroughly blas medics were all, "She needs oxygen." Shawn rushed up with bad news, he lost Claire. Bo assured him that there was an APB on the van. Philip admitted to Shawn that he told Belle that Claire is okay, noting, "It's up to you to tell Belle about Claire when it's time. I'll back off." Shawn thanked him.
John growled at Marlena that he doesn't know how to love any more, "not now, but you will, in time, little by little," she insisted.
Thursday
At the hospital, Shawn sat at a sleeping Belle's bedside and talked to himself about his inability to rescue Claire from the kidnappers. He vowed that they would get her back. In the hallway, a lurking Philip eavesdropped on the monologue. He stepped away from the door and ran into Chloe, who observed that he'd rather be the one at Belle's side. Philip urged Chloe to go comfort Shawn. Chloe, all glammy in a fur coat, did just that and offered to drive Shawn back to the pier for news on Claire. With Shawn out of the way, Philip went in to sit by Belle and kiss her hand. Her monitor began to emit loud beeps.
In John's room, the patient kept resisting Marlena's efforts to retrieve his erased memories. He accused her of working with Stefano and Rolf, which she, of course, denied. He ranted some more, calling Marlena "Doc," which she took as a hopeful sign. Marlena promised that Stefano would never hurt John again, even if she had to kill him. After hearing that Stefano had also stolen his kidney, John was out for blood. He was determined to find out what else his captors had done to him.
On the docks, Hope joined Roman and Bo, who discussed Rob and Crystal's whereabouts. Bo didn't believe Stefano was behind the abduction because the crime was "too sloppy," and they used rubber bullets on the cop guarding Belle, whereas Stefano's men would have been more lethal. Bo didn't think Crystal would have made contact with Marlena and shown up at Sami's if she wanted ransom. He suggested she might actually be well-intentioned. The talk was interrupted by a call to Roman, it was from someone at the hospital, who reported that Marlena won't allow John to be sedated. Saying that he wouldn't tell Marlena about the kidnapping just yet, Roman left for the hospital. Bo got a call, the kidnappers' van had been found — but it was abandoned.
Down at the pier, Bo filled in Shawn about the abandoned van. Shawn declared that he wouldn't rest until his daughter was found. In addition to an APB, Bo said that there was also an Amber alert issued. Bo urged Shawn to try to think about some detail that he might have overlooked. Bo and Hope prepared to head to University Hospital, so that they could talk to Marlena. Chloe stayed with Shawn, who went over the night's events and suddenly remembered that Rob has a tattoo.
Roman arrived at the hospital; John told him that Marlena is a "pushy bitch," which Roman didn't like at all. Roman chatted with Doc Evans outside the room. He questioned Marlena's choice to not let John be sedated. Marlena argued that he'd been through enough, but Roman worried about the patient's obvious aggression. After entering John's room again to warn him to behave himself, Roman left. John observed that Roman's "hot" for Marlena, who laughed it off and remarked that John's just trying to provoke her. Bo and Hope arrived and John yelled at them. They took Marlena into the hall and told her about Claire. Marlena blamed Stefano, but Bo wasn't so certain about that. When Marlena returned to John, she wanted to strike a deal, no questions asked. She asked him to accompany her to see their daughter.
Shawn and Chloe went to the Brady Pub and met up with his parents and Roman to tell them about the tattoo. Roman produced a shot of a medallion that matches the tattoo, which is a symbol for a Celtic woman warrior. Roman explained that it was from the picture Marlena found in John's belongings.
A groggy Belle woke up and asked for Claire. Philip wrestled with whether to tell her, but finally admitted that Crystal and Rob escaped with the child.
Friday
Lucas was on his bunk when he turned to see his new cellmate, Stefano. Lucas's attempt to lunge at the Phoenix was foiled by the chain on his ankle. Stefano explained that the jailers were ensuring that they don't kill each other. Lucas was vexed when a guard wheeled in a tray with a gourmet dinner for Stefano. After a jealous Lucas went to work out, Stefano fished a plastic-wrapped cell phone from his bed of wild rice.
At the pub, Hope urged Sami to work to get Lucas out of jail. She raised an eyebrow when Sami let it slip that EJ now lives with her. Sami suggested she should ask EJ to help her go into hiding with the twins. "Run away with Stefano's son? Have you completely lost your mind?" Hope asked. Sami wouldn't listen to Hope's theory that maybe EJ just wants Sami to feel that she's in danger so that she'll be dependent on him.... EJ met Bo at the piers and the cop filled him in on the abduction. Bo gave him a sketch of Crystal and a photo of Ron, but EJ said he didn't know who they were. EJ suggested that someone is setting up the DiMeras, Bo agreed. Bo also showed "Junior" a shot of the Celtic symbol, but EJ didn't recognize it. Bo left to investigate something found by the abandoned van.
A hospitalized Belle struggled to leave her bed after Philip told her that Claire's still missing. She said that he should have joined Shawn in going after the kidnappers, but Kiriakis explained that he couldn't let Belle drown. She hopped out of bed, though she was clearly too weak. Philip called for help. After a nurse got Belle settled again, she warned Philip that Belle must remain calm and not leave her bed again. Elsewhere in the hospital, Marlena briefed John on Belle, telling him that he calls her "Tink." When the officer guarding John's room wouldn't allow Marlena to take him to see Belle, Doc Evans had the cop call Roman. John smirked when the officer said that Commissioner Brady denied the request. Marlena called Roman directly and talked him into letting John leave his room — with an ankle monitor.
EJ was standing on the pier when he got a call from Stefano, who said, "Hello Elvis, Have you missed me?" Claiming he forgives EJ for turning him in, Stefano asked him to come visit, saying he'd send his driver. EJ noted that he's not at home, but Stefano already knew that; his driver stepped out of the mist in a rather creepy manner. EJ said he'd rely on his own transportation and made a break for it. "Damn it!" huffed Stefano.
A teary Belle stared in disbelief when Marlena brought John into her room. "I watched you die," she cried, "I went to your funeral!" Flashbacks ensued. She grabbed John and held him. Marlena moved in for the group hug. John looked a little uncomfortable. Belle asked if everything is okay and John said he was fine. After Marlena vowed that they'd get Brady and Claire back and all be a family again, Belle asked her dad to help find the baby. He didn't make any promises and politely shook her hand good-bye. A puzzled Belle saw the light flashing at his ankle and asked what was going on. Marlena said that John is wearing the monitor for his own protection, in case Stefano comes for him again. Belle was worried, saying she doesn't want to lose him again. John kissed her forehead and whispered, " I know that you're worried about your little girl and me. I just want you to know that everything's gonna be just fine. And that is a promise ... Tink." Afterward, he asked Marlena if that was "warm and fuzzy enough" for her. He admitted that he doesn't know who Belle is. Marlena was certain that would change.
A panicked EJ rushed to the pub and was relieved to find Sami. At her prodding, he told her what happened, adding that he thought if he got in that car with Stefano's driver, it would be the last thing he ever did. She asked if he was being paranoid, EJ said no, pointing out that his father is a dangerous man. Hope watched with a frown. Bo came in with a bottle of Claire's medication, which was purchased three weeks ago by Crystal Miller. "Kidnappers don't get medicine for their victims. This proves that they care about Claire," mused Bo..... EJ told Sami they should take the kids and disappear. In the meantime, Stefano ordered someone to, "Keep your distance, but do not lose them."
