Monday
Kate and Stefano discussed Chad learning Madeline was a call girl as they prepared to leave the hospital. Stefano was upset Kate had kept the news from him. Meanwhile, Madeline tumbled down the stairs on the pier while arguing with Chad. Chad ran to his mother, who muttered, "I did it for you. I lied for you." Later, Madeline was wheeled into the hospital. Chad trailed behind. Kate and Stefano found Chad, who explained about Madeline's fall. Charles arrived, and Chad told him about his and Madeline's spat. Charles asked what it was about. Chad dodged. Lexie interrupted with devastating news: Madeline had died.
Melanie told Philip she was planning a baby shower for Chloe. Philip thought it was too soon. Melanie realized it was just one more time she was too involved and told Philip about how her attempt to get Brady and Arianna back together was a disaster. She mentioned leaving something behind at the beach and went to get it. Melanie happened upon Nathan and Stephanie, who were smooching after Nathan gave Steph a bracelet. "Are you stalking us?" asked Steph. Melanie explained she was back to pick something up and suggested Nathan and Steph get a room. Melanie left. Steph mentioned having to find a new roommate. Nathan asked if she'd consider him. "Yes," gasped Steph.
Chloe and Daniel discussed baby names for their upcoming bundle of joy and telling Victor their big news. Chloe couldn't imagine the look on Victor's face when he found out she was having a baby with his son. "Uh, godson," corrected Daniel. Chloe mentioned how much Victor hated her and how it didn't even bother her any more. Daniel left to pick up their dinner order, and Chloe beat herself up over her slip. Philip arrived to see if Daniel had bought their story. Chloe noted all was fine. Daniel found out Vivian was behind paying off the nurse and the hotel clerk. Philip was furious Vivian had caused this mess. He asked Chloe about the paternity test. She said Carly was setting it up. Philip asked if anyone else knew about their sexcapades. Chloe noted Father Matt did and was upset with her, but thankfully he was out of town.
Daniel found Father Matt at the pub. He asked the priest about performing his and Chloe's wedding, after they fixed their annulment problem. Father Matt said there was no annulment problem. There was another reason he couldn't go through with marrying them and told Daniel to ask Chloe what it was.
Philip returned home. Melanie kissed him, which led to more. Afterwards, she mentioned them having a baby one day, but not for a while. Daniel returned home to Chloe, mentioned seeing Father Matt, and asked the real reason she wouldn't marry him. Chloe noted she didn't want Father Matt to be involved in their plans any more. Daniel asked what was really going. Chloe swore she'd just changed her mind and wanted a civil ceremony.
Roman arrived at Bo's. Bo told him he was worried about Hope. Something strange was going on with her. Bo recounted his conversations with Carly, Adrienne and Justin. Roman thought Bo needed to back off and let Hope live her life her own way. After Roman left, Bo rushed off and turned up at the Kiriakis mansion. Henderson went to find Hope, while Ciara greeted her daddy. Bo asked about the stories Ciara had been telling. Ciara insisted they were true and told Bo she saw Hope hugging a man and it wasn't Justin. Henderson returned and noted Hope wasn't in the house.
Dr. Baker tried to talk Hope out of her plan to kill Bo. Hope wouldn't back down. Baker blocked the door. Hope asked if Baker was falling in love with her. First, he denied it. Then, he admitted he might be. If that meant anything to Hope, Baker begged her not to do this and offered up another revenge plan — mug Bo, drug him, clean out his accounts and skip town. Hope seemed touched and said she'd think about it. Baker left, and Hope proceeded with her original plan, heading to Bo's house. As she wandered around she muttered about Bo being the devil and abandoning her. She talked about getting the rest of her things, so she could create a little hell on earth, and headed to the door. Hope opened it to find Bo standing there.
Tuesday
Hope ran into Bo as she was leaving their house. Hope said she was there to get Ciara's video game, but couldn't find it. Bo saw it sitting there. He confronted Hope about something being wrong. "Where is Hope and what have you done with her?" he asked. Hope swore she was the same person as always. Bo noted her whole demeanor had changed and mentioned people talking to him about her. Hope made a crack about Carly stealing her husband and sashaying around town. Bo told her to leave Carly out of this. Just then Carly called, noting she'd be in surgery all night. Bo urged Hope to stay so they could talk. He still loved and cared about her. Hope surprised Bo with a kiss and agreed to stay. She asked Bo to make coffee. When he left, she muttered how Bo thought she was a stupid fool and took out her sleeping pills, ready to drug him. Soon, Bo returned with the coffee. He got a call from Roman and wandered off. Hope spiked Bo's cup of joe. He returned and prepared to drink it.
Daniel asked Chloe the real reason she'd postponed their wedding. She admitted Father Matt didn't marry them, because he thought she was a bad person, who'd done things he couldn't accept. He thought she had issues she needed to work out. Daniel didn't buy it and suggested they go talk to Father Matt. Chloe flipped, telling Daniel to call the priest and ask what she confessed to him. Daniel relented. Later, the twosome were in bed post lovemaking. Daniel brought up the subject of marriage again. Chloe wanted to wait. Daniel reminded Chloe she was pregnant. He thought they should got married right away. Chloe refused. Daniel was confused and angry. "What are you so conflicted about?" he asked. Chloe couldn't explain. Daniel left, and Chloe sobbed.
Lexie delivered the news Madeline had died to Chad and Charles as Kate and Stefano looked on. Charles yelled that Chad had killed Madeline. Chad swore it was an accident. Lexie attempted to explain. Charles cut her off and continued to lambaste Chad. Stefano said Charles was wrong to treat his son like that. Lexie finally spoke up, noting Madeline was living on borrowed time. She had a history of developing aneurisms and many things could trigger them. Charles left to make arrangements. Lexie told Chad he wasn't responsible for his mother's death. Stefano approached Chad, noting Madeline loved him. Chad walked away. Kate and Stefano discussed the sad situation. Stefano noted the final curtain had come down on their relationship with Madeline. Alone, Kate muttered that it hadn't; then, tried to console Chad, insisting his father wasn't thinking clearly and he should give him time. Chad spat that Charles never acted like his father. Alone, Kate whispered, "I wonder why."
Nathan told Stephanie they needed to have a serious talk. Steph assumed he'd changed his mind about moving in. Nope. Nathan said he was in love and wanted to make sure this big step is what she wanted. Steph did, and they kissed. Nathan left and Adrienne arrived. Steph told her the big news. Adrienne was thrilled, noting Nathan came around because Steph was open and honest with him. "Nathan does love me," said Steph, noting Melanie was history.
Philip and Melanie discussed their marriage and everything they'd been through. Philip noted that if something happened down the road, they'd get past that, too. Melanie couldn't imagine anything happening. Soon, she and Philip were headed upstairs for some lovemaking. Later, Melanie walked around Maggie's kitchen in just a shirt, when Nathan entered toting the bowl and spoon she'd left at the beach. Philip walked in. Nathan told Philip why he was there. Philip invited Melanie back to bed and left. Melanie said goodnight to Nathan.
Wednesday
Sami stopped by Rafe's office to deliver his mail. Rafe thought it was an excuse to see him and asked the real reason she was there. Sami told him her mother had decided to sell her townhouse, so she and the kids would be living with EJ, permanently. Rafe made cracks about the wholesome environment Sami's kids would be raised in. Sami defended EJ, noting he was a great dad, supportive and loving. "Did you mean loving to the kids or to you?" asked Rafe. Sami admitted EJ loved her. He told her so, and she thought it was only fair to give him a second chance. Rafe thanked Sami for his mail and wished her a happy future with EJ. Sami continued to try to sell herself on her decision, insisting EJ wanted to be with her. "What about you? Do you love him?" asked Rafe. Sami said EJ was a great father, who the kids adored. She told Rafe she'd made her decision, wanted him to respect it, and stormed off.
Arianna arrived at the DiMera mansion to tell EJ he was fired. She realized he had a lot of things on his mind other than her case, and she didn't want to be a burden or distraction to him. EJ swore she wasn't, insisting he wanted to give her case his top attention. Johnny interrupted, running up to EJ and asking him to read him a story. Arianna was touched by the father/ son moment and rehired EJ.
Nicole walked into the Kiriakis mansion and found Brady on the phone working to clear Arianna's name. Nicole thought Brady and Arianna had broken up and asked Brady if he was still in love with his ex. Brady said his head was all over the place. He couldn't consider getting involved with someone else right now. Dejected, Nicole turned to leave. Brady stopped her, noting he was still working on getting over Arianna. Nicole wondered why Brady kissed her, if he was so conflicted. Brady said he was still going to work on Arianna's case and do all he could to bring the real mugger to justice. Nicole wanted Brady to back off. She talked about her dreams of having a future with Brady. He swore he'd always be Nicole's friend and gave her a sweet kiss.
Bo sipped the coffee Hope spiked with her sleeping pills. The duo discussed where their marriage went wrong. Hope mentioned Zack's death and the number of times she and Bo had lost each other. "But we've always been able to find our way back to each other. So what changed?" asked Bo. "I wish you had fought harder for us," retorted Hope, noting that when Carly arrived in town, Bo quickly took up with her. Bo pointed out that Hope left him. Hope couldn't believe Bo wouldn't take responsibility in all this. Bo asked if it would change things if he broke up with Carly and asked Hope and Ciara to move back in with him. Hope was touched and shifted back to her old self. She told Bo to stop drinking his coffee. Bo was confused. He didn't know what Hope wanted and noted Carly wasn't responsible for any of this. Hope snapped back to her menacing alter ego, insisting Bo was right. "You betrayed me," spat Hope, ranting about revenge and getting even. Bo got dizzy and collapsed. Hope left to go see Dr. Baker and pick up the rest of the supplies on her "Things to Kill Bo With" list. Baker was still adamantly opposed to Hope's evil plan to set her house on fire with Bo in it. He tried to talk Hope out of it again. Hope wouldn't be deterred and left. Soon, Hope was back at her house. Bo laid on the floor, and Hope poured gasoline all over him. Then, she sat down and struck a match. "Finally, I'll be at peace," she whispered.
Nicole met EJ on the pier. They bickered. He threatened to take care of her. She threatened to release the tape where he admitted orchestrating Sydney's kidnapping. EJ asked what Nicole wanted. Nicole explained she wanted EJ to prove Arianna's innocence without revealing she'd framed her. EJ had no choice but to agree. Nicole couldn't believe she and EJ had come to a truce. Little did they know Rafe had overheard the end of their conversation.
Thursday
Hope's plan to burn Bo alive went up in smoke, so to speak, when Daniel turned up at the door. He walked in and found Bo doused with gasoline. Hope watched from the kitchen holding a gun. Daniel tried to revive Bo. Soon, paramedics and Roman arrived. Roman realized someone tried to kill his brother. Bo was wheeled off. Hope watched, noting Bo wasn't supposed to die from the drugs, but it might happen that way.
Nicole and EJ bartered a truce on the pier, both agreeing to keep each other's secrets. Rafe overheard the tail end of things and realized he had something on EJ. Rafe arrived to see Sami and asked if there was a chance for the two of them. They kissed passionately. Then, Sami woke up from her dream. The doorbell rang and there stood Rafe. Rafe told Sami he saw EJ with Nicole. They were talking about keeping a secret. Sami didn't believe it and asked why Rafe was telling her this. "I care," he swore. "But you don't care enough about me to make me a part of your life," barked Sami, adding that EJ did. Sami told Rafe he was relieved of his duties to look after her and there was nothing between them. Rafe left. EJ returned. Sami asked about his meeting. He mentioned seeing Arianna and bumping into Nicole, who wanted to make things right between them. EJ said he pretended to go along with her. Sami told EJ she'd spoken to her mother, who wanted to sell her townhouse. EJ asked where Sami would live. Sami smiled, saying she hoped she and the kids could stay there.
Nicole found Baker at the poker parlor and delivered good news: they were off the hook for setting up Arianna. She made EJ an offer he couldn't refuse. Baker wanted to go. Nicole wondered if he was meeting his mystery partner in crime. Baker wasn't sure. Nicole asked if they'd had a falling out and made a crack about their mugging partnership. Baker swore he was trying to protect the woman. Nicole couldn't believe Baker had a heart. She said goodbye and told Baker to take care of himself. Soon, Hope arrived. She accused Baker of tipping off Roman to the impending fire at Bo's house. Baker said someone had to save her from herself. Hope thought Baker was the one man on her side. After scolding him, She took off to finish what she started.
Chloe told Carly about her spat with Daniel over Father Matt and postponing their wedding. She said Daniel took off and she wondered if she'd ever see him again. Carly said she hoped Chloe's baby was Daniel and gave Chloe her word, that if the child was, she'd keep mum about her affair. She wanted Daniel to be happy. Chloe wondered if it was too late for her and Daniel.
Maxine interrupted. She needed Carly in the ER.
Chloe met up with Father Matt and told him she was pregnant. She asked if he would keep her secret affair secret. Father Matt asked if Daniel knew she was pregnant. Chloe said he did and assumed the child was his. Meanwhile, she explained that Carly swore to tell Daniel the truth about everything if the baby wasn't his, but had no idea the other man was her and Daniel's son-in-law. Father Matt was aghast. He urged Chloe to 'fess up to Daniel. Father Matt realized Chloe wasn't about to tell the truth, and said he'd pray for her.
Carly freaked when she found Bo in the hospital. Daniel explained he'd overdosed on drugs and about the scene he'd found at Bo's house. Suddenly, Bo flatlined. Carly freaked. Maxine pushed her out the door. Soon, Daniel emerged noting Bo was stable. Hope secretly watched the scene. Roman arrived and said someone wanted to burn Bo alive. "What kind of person would do something that awful to Bo?" wondered Carly. Meanwhile, Hope entered Bo's room and saw he was unconscious. “Good,” she muttered. “But not good enough."
Rafe stopped into the pub for a drink. Nicole entered, and Rafe asked the bartender for a favor. The bartender cleared off Nicole's table and accidentally on purpose spilled wine on her. Nicole freaked; then, left to clean off. Rafe ran to her table and rummaged through Nicole's purse. He pulled out some papers with an address on them and rushed off.
Friday
Roman and company discussed the Bo situation. Abe said Bo was lucky Daniel showed up when he did. Daniel tried to reassure Carly that Bo would be okay. Abe thought Hope had a right to know what happened. Roman didn't want her there with Carly.
In Bo's room, Hope pondered what to do next. She told Bo she'd loved him; then, kissed him good-bye. Hope muttered how an air bubble in Bo's IV wouldn't be the slow, painful death she had planned, but it would suffice. Hope started to inject the IV, when Bo awoke. "What are you doing?" he muttered. Carly and Daniel entered Bo's room, and Hope split. Bo mumbled, "Hope. She was ..." Then, he went into cardiac arrest. Carly called for the crash cart. Bo survived, yet again. Carly decided to call Hope. Roman and Abe wondered if this could be the work of the DiMeras. Carly visited Bo, who yanked the breathing tubes from his mouth. She realized he wanted to tell her who did this to him.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Hope worried that Bo knew she tried to kill him. She found Ciara sleeping and whispered she'd done all this to protect her. "Zack died because daddy didn't care. All he cared about was that daughter he had with Billie," said Hope. "And then I almost lost you." Hope lamented how Bo handled everything his way, like she wasn't even there. Hope's phone rang. "So Bo told Carly what happened, and now they're coming for me," whispered Hope. "I'm so sorry, Ciara."
Nicole got a call from a mystery man offering a tip on a story and summoning her to the pier. Nicole headed off, as Rafe hung up. Soon, Rafe was at Nicole's motel room rifling through her things. Nicole phoned the number that called her, discovered it was a pay phone, and realized she'd been set up. Meanwhile, Rafe discovered a book. Nicole phoned EJ, assuming he was behind the set up. He swore he knew nothing. Rafe noticed an encoded page in the book and snapped pictures of it. Nicole returned and saw her place had been ransacked. She found her coded book and thought all was well. Little did she know Rafe was working on cracking the code.
Sami and EJ discussed the fact she now trusted him. Sami said they'd both had a lot to answer for. EJ insisted he was the one who needed to ask for forgiveness. Sami said EJ had changed and was now his own man. EJ thought back to telling Sami about Sydney's death. Sydney starting crying, and EJ went to tend to her. Then, Sami went to get the twins lunch ready. She returned after Nicole phoned EJ. EJ told her Nicole was jealous, because they had everything she wanted. Sami went off to spend time with Sydney. EJ cursed Nicole for threatening his newfound happiness. Sami returned, having found a new dress in Sydney's closet. EJ said he'd arranged for a family portrait and got new outfits for everyone. Sami asked if EJ picked something out for himself, since he should be in the picture, too. EJ was delighted. Sami decided to head up to bed. EJ gave her a kiss goodnight.
Victor phoned Maggie. He finished the foundation plans and wanted to show her. She invited him over. Victor told Vivian he was off to a meeting. Vivian assumed it was at Maggie's and tried to coax Victor into staying. It didn't work. Vivian swore she could make him happier than "that redheaded cow." Furious, Victor left and arrived at Maggie's complaining about Vivian. Maggie didn't want to hear it. Victor started to talk about the scholarship foundation. Maggie said she wanted to talk about them. Victor said they were friends. Maggie thought they shouldn't be, since he was married. She wanted Victor to talk to her lawyer about the foundation from now on. Victor got a call about Bo, and they headed off left.
Vivian met Gus at the pub, guzzled martinis, and bemoaned the situation with Victor. Gus suggested doing something about it. Vivian announced she was going to Chicago. Gus thought that was a good idea. Victor wouldn't know where she was and it would teach him a lesson. Vivian said a wonderful Greek store was there. She'd get Victor his favorite things. Gus couldn't believe what he was hearing. He told Vivian not to get sad. Get even.
