Lucas told Kate that Chloe and Daniel's Hearth and Home appearance was a hit with focus groups and could be the start of something big. Kate mumbled it was actually "the end," remembering back to poisoning Chloe. Kate listened to the tape she made of Daniel. Lucas asked what it was. Kate said she recorded strategy meetings with Chloe and Daniel. Meanwhile, Chloe collapsed in Daniel's arms. He rushed her to the hospital and ordered tests. Lexie suggested Daniel was too involved to be on the case, before phoning Lucas. Lucas and Kate arrived, and Lexie explained what happened. Daniel emerged from Chloe's room and said her initial blood work came back negative, so he was having it redone. Lucas went to see Chloe. Daniel told Kate it appeared Chloe was poisoned. Kate thought Daniel seemed too concerned. Daniel snapped that he was Chloe's doctor. When Kate went to see Chloe, Maggie suggested maybe Daniel shouldn't be Chloe's doctor. Daniel was determined to remain on Chloe's case. Lexie gave Daniel Chloe's blood results. Daniel was stunned that they showed nothing and went to call a specialist. Chloe decided she wanted another doctor. Kate tried to talk her out of it to no avail. Daniel overheard and opted to heed Chloe's wishes. Maggie supported Daniel's decision and said she could see ho w worried he was. She wondered why Kate was goading him, insisting there was no way she'd risk hurting Lucas by her telling him about Daniel and Chloe. Kate peered into Chloe's room promising things would get worse.
Nathan found Melanie crying and asked what was wrong. She explained her brother was leaving for London and he was the only person who cared about her. Nathan said that wasn't true; Melanie had friends. Then, he offered to take her out for a bite to eat.
Max got a call from Bo, who was on his way to the pub to say goodbye. Max said he had something to ask him. Caroline entered and lamented having to say goodbye to her youngest son. The pair discussed the pub's new manager. Max told Arianna they were planning to hire her, and she accepted the offer. Bo arrived. Max went on about loving Chelsea. He wondered if Bo was okay with them being together now and asked if Bo could give them his blessing. Bo said Max didn't need his blessing, just Chelsea's. Bo mentioned the possibility of Max and Chelsea taking things to the next level, when Melanie walked in. "You're going to marry her?" asked Melanie, who was worried Chelsea would change Max. Bo took the opportunity to subtly warn Nathan about Melanie. Melanie told Max she felt like he was abandoning her. Max swore he wasn't and noted how Nathan seemed to be paying her a lot of attention. Max's taxi arrived and everyone said a tearful goodbye to him.
Sami went into Rafe's wallet to get some cash and found Emily's memorial card. Rafe interrupted and asked what she was doing. Sami explained she needed money to pay for their Chinese takeout. Rafe volunteered to go to the ATM and pick up the food, after he showered and asked Sami to join him. Post shower, Rafe kissed Sami and thanked her for backing off regarding Emily. He wanted to leave Emily in the past and concentrate on their future. Rafe left, and Sami stared at Emily's memorial card. Rafe ran into Arianna and assured her Sami had backed off about Emily.
Arianna didn't buy it. Meanwhile, Sami headed to her computer and Googled Emily. Arianna told Rafe she'd bet Sami was doing an Internet search as they spoke. Rafe insisted she wasn't and said he sometimes felt like telling Sami the truth about Emily. "You cannot tell Sami," insisted Arianna, noting she knew Rafe loved Sami and was just trying to protect her. Back at her computer, Sami hit pay dirt. She discovered Emily died on the day she and Rafe were supposed marry.

Wednesday
Nathan arrived home and Maggie asked about his meeting with Great Grandma Alice. He noted that Alice gave him Tom's medical bag. Nathan wasn't sure he could live up to his standards. Maggie told Nathan just to carve his own way and he would make Tom proud. The conversation turned to the cabin. Maggie explained Melanie was cleaning it with a couple of friends. Nathan seemed upset he'd been uninvited. He thought Melanie had accepted his apology. Maggie assured him she had.
"What the hell are you doing here?" asked Arianna and Brady when they both arrived at the Horton cabin. Melanie showed up, and they realized they'd been set up. Arianna turned to leave, but Melanie said the ferry didn't run until evening. Brady and Arianna were furious. Melanie urged the pair to get to work. Arianna stepped on a chair to dust a light and fell into Brady's arms. When Melanie bent down to sweep under the table, Arianna knocked a pail of dirty water on her. Melanie flipped; then, headed outside to shower. "Remind me not to mess around with you," said Brady, finally admitting he liked Arianna. She returned the sentiment. As Melanie showered, Nathan arrived and caught her in the act. Melanie screamed.
Nicole screamed for Mary, after leaving Sydney in the living room and returning to20find her gone. Stefano walked in holding the baby and reminded Nicole he owned the both of them. Nicole said the more she lived there the more she understood why Sami kept Grace from EJ. EJ arrived after an outing at the Java Café with Johnny, who told him he and Nicole had a secret about mommy. Nicole covered that she probably blurted out something negative about Sami and asked Johnny not to repeat it. EJ bought the story and went to check on Johnny. Stefano wondered if Nicole would be foolish enough to lie to EJ, again. Nicole fretted about Rafe figuring out the truth about Sydney. Stefano promised to take care of Rafe. EJ returned and asked for a moment alone with Nicole. He admitted he'd been hard to be around lately and wanted to make amends. He gave Nicole a locket, and they embraced. Stefano was on the phone gathering information about Rafe and Emily. EJ left to tend to Johnny, so Nicole called Sami. "We need to talk about Johnny," she said. EJ returned and overheard.
Sami pondered the fact Emily died on her wedding day to Rafe, when he walked in. They discussed the custody situation with Johnny; then, Rafe headed to the shower. Sami put Emily's memorial card back in Rafe's wallet, when Will walked in. He asked what his mom was doing. Sami said she was getting some cash. Will suspected Sami didn't trust Rafe. Sami insisted she did. Rafe returned, noticed his wallet was open, and confronted Sami. Sami said she couldn't20bear it that Rafe was keeping something from her that was important to him. Rafe wondered if Sami trusted him. Sami wondered if there was a chance she could lose custody of Johnny because of one of your secrets. Rafe said he'd tell Sami everything. He explained Emily was the love of his life and that she died on their wedding day. Sami told Rafe she was sorry for his loss and loved him.
Chad approached Mia at the Java Café and told her he was working there. Mia wasn't happy. They discussed Chad's stint in military school and how he didn't say goodbye. Chad said his parents didn't want him to have anything to do with his old life, but swore he thought about Mia every day. Mia admitted she thought about Chad, too. She remembered back to Chad asking her to a winter formal. Chad left, as Will walked in. Chad returned to pick up his keys. He spied Mia with Will and asked why she didn't tell him this was the reason he'd been blowing him off. Then, Chad introduced himself to Will as Mia's boyfriend.
Thursday
Stephanie went to the Kiriakis mansion. Philip was thrilled to see her. He offered up a peace offering, a necklace with a charm. She said she couldn't accept it. She explained that she came by to return the car he bought for her. "It's over," she declared. He said she couldn't eat, sleep or think straight without her. Steph said she felt the same way, but couldn't be with him. He suggested they move to Greece, like she had wanted to do after he was shot. He was ready to fuel up the jet, and added that he would do anything for her. She began to cry. He kissed her and said he loved her. He wanted make love, but she pulled back, explaining that it wasn't going to happen. She insisted that they were really over this time.
Nathan arrived at the Horton Cabin to find Melanie naked in the outdoor shower. She screamed, which stopped Brady and Arianna from having their first kiss. Brady and Ari rushed outside and Melanie introduced them to Nathan. "You're the guy," Brady said. A nude Melanie tried to get them to leave the shower area, to no avail. Ari finally ushered the guys inside to give Melanie some privacy. Nate stayed behind and asked what Brady meant by calling him "the guy." Mel played it off. Nathan went inside. Brady asked how he got there, since Melanie said the ferries weren't running until that evening. Nathan explained that he took the Horton motorboat and nearly ran out of gas en route. Mel pulled Nathan outside to go bird watching in order to leave Ari and Brady alone together. Brady suggested playing poker. Mel and Nathan came back in and joined them. Melanie threw out the idea of playing strip poker. She and Ari admitted that they weren't good players. The guys smirked and shuffled the cards. They wound up stripping down to their skivvies after a particularly good hand from a fully-dressed card shark Melanie.
At the Java Caf, Will questioned if Chad was Mia's boyfriend. She insisted he wasn't and said she couldn't talk because she would get in trouble with the manager. Will asked her why she had never told him about Chad. She went back to work, then brought Will a coffee during her break to talk things out. She explained that she and Chad dated a few times but it wasn't a big deal. "He's a total psycho. I want to forget about him," she noted. Will waited around until Mia got off work. He asked if she wanted to do something, like play goofy golf. "I am the Tiger Woods of goofy golf," she smiled. An uneasy Chad listened to their banter. Mia took a look at Chad, then hurried off to change. Chad went after her, but Will stood in his way. The guys squared off. Mia arrived back at Maggie's and was annoyed Chad was back in town.
Nicole made a furtive call to Sami to talk about Johnny. EJ came into the living room and asked why she was on the phone to Sami. She wouldn't answer, noting that he was treating her like a naughty child. She lied that Sami asked her to help convince EJ to drop the suit and was calling to say she couldn't do that. Nicole elaborated, saying that as a mother, she understood where Sami was coming from, which infuriated EJ. An argument ensued. She insisted that she always puts EJ and Sydney first, which made him soften toward her, but he was still super-angry about Sami. He apologized for being so "impossible" lately. "Contrary to what most people think, I don't like to be this angry," he told her. "Especially not when it's directed at somebody with whom I will always, like it or not, share a connection." He asked if they could stop talking about Sami, then hugged Nicole. Stefano came in. EJ got a call and excused himself. Stefano revealed he knew all about Nicole bringing Johnny to see Sami. He warned her that she was slipping. She insisted she had everything under control and took off. Once alone with Stefano, EJ pointed out that he didn't seem rattled by Grace's death and she was his granddaughter. "How can you say a thing like that?" The Phoenix deflected.
Bo ran into Victor on the pier and noted that his dad seemed chipper. He accused his father of putting Stephanie up to lying about EJ's involvement in her kidnapping. Vic advised his son to leave it alone.
Nicole went to the Brady Pub and spied Stephanie, who she could tell was upset. Steph revealed she broke her engagement to Philip. Nic asked what happened. "I was expected to help your husband, who had me kidnapped and put in a morgue drawer over my cousin Sami, whose daughter died, and now she's losing her son to EJ," Steph replied. Nic asked if that meant Steph was going to testify against EJ at the trial the next day. Steph shrugged that she was going to do what was right. Nicole said she would do whatever necessary to protect her family and headed out. Victor, who was at the Pub, approached Stephanie and asked about the conversation. She revealed that she and Philip were through. "Like hell you are!" he fired back.... Nicole returned home and told EJ she had to talk about the "Sami thing," because everything had changed.
Bo visited Philip, who revealed that he and Steph were through, thanks to Victor. Bo noted that he and Hope had lived as Kiriakises once, but couldn't make it work. He told his brother he was going to have to choose between money, power and Stephanie.
Friday
Nathan and Brady sat half naked at the strip poker game. Brady figured out Melanie was counting cards. That's why the gals were winning. (Huh?! Doesn't card counting only worked in black jack?) The game broke up. Melanie grabbed Nathan's clothes and offered to sell them back to him. Nathan borrowed money from Brady to buy back his stuff. Then, Melanie invited Nathan to dinner: her treat. Brady offered to buy Arianna dinner in exchange for his clothes. She accepted. Melanie asked Nathan when he wanted to go out. He reminded her she had to study for her nursing exam and offered to help. Then, he remembered he couldn't, since he was her teacher's assistant. The ferry arrived and the foursome left. Melanie and Nathan arrived at the hospital. Nathan went to work, but reminded Melanie she owed him dinner. Arianna and Brady were in the park discussing where to eat. She mentioned the conversation about drinking beers earlier. Brady confessed to having had "a little issue with cocaine," so now he stayed completely clean. Arianna suddenly told him she didn't think they were ever going to have dinner.
Bo and Philip discussed Stephanie versus Philip's job at Titan and the power that came with it. Philip insisted he loved Steph and believed he could have both. Bo said he had to make a decision. Meanwhile, Steph told Victor she and Philip broke up, and she was no longer under Victor's thumb. Victor asked her to reconsider testifying against EJ. "People could get killed; people that you love," he warned. Philip interrupted and told Victor not to interfere. Philip and Steph headed outside. Steph told Philip she was leaving Titan and had an interview at the hospital. Philip recounted his talk with Bo and said he'd walk away from his family for Steph. Steph asked Philip to just let her go. Caroline approached Victor and laced into him for making Steph a pawn in his war with the DiMeras. She urged Victor to leave Philip and Steph alone.
Hope told Ciara her Tommy Bear was sleeping and gave her Mr. Giraffe. Ciara took it and went to play. Hope's pal, Ellen, offered to watch the girls. Hope went to meet Bo. They discussed his talk with Philip. Hope told Bo she was worried about his vision. She couldn't go throu gh anything happening to another of their children. Meanwhile, Ciara and her friend played. Her pal pulled a Tommy Bear look-a-like out of her backpack and traded it for Ciara's Mr. Giraffe. Bo and Hope went to get Ciara. Hope asked where Ciara's giraffe was. Ellen noted it was in her backpack."
Melanie ran into Philip at the pub. She went on about the great afternoon she had and meeting a guy who makes her laugh. Melanie sensed Philip's bad mood. He told her about the breakup. Melanie was sure Steph would reconcile with him. At the hospital, Maxine told Steph she nailed her interview. Steph turned and bumped smack into Nathan.
Nicole told EJ about Steph and Philip's break up. Steph was going to testify that EJ was behind her kidnapping; she'd do anything to help Sami get back custody of Johnny. EJ wasn't worried. He didn't consider Steph a threat and had Judge Fitzpatrick in his pocket. Nicole wasn't so sure the judge would side with DiMeras. Later, Nicole returned with Sydney and begged EJ to reconsider the custody suit. She didn't want him to end up in jail because of it. Nicole pleaded with EJ to do the right thing for Johnny and not take him away from his mother and sister. Finally, EJ relented. He agreed to make some kind of arrangement with Sami, but said he would never forget that she kept Grace from him. "If anyone ever betrays me like that again, they will be punished," warned EJ.
