Sami and Rafe’s argument led to a passionate kiss, which EJ interrupted. Then, Stefano walked in. Rafe explained he was there with news: He’d found Anna. Rafe said Anna confessed to her part in Sydney’s kidnapping, but then became incapacitated. She was poisoned, went to the hospital, and disappeared. “You idiot!” growled Stefano. Rafe stormed out. Sami followed. Inside, Stefano sensed something was amiss. He asked EJ if something happened before he got here. EJ swore nothing had. Outside, Rafe and Sami spat about her moving into the mansion. Sami asked why Rafe kissed her. "That was goodbye," he noted. It didn't feel like goodbye to Sami. Rafe left. When Sami returned inside, EJ laced into her about reconciling with Rafe. Sami swore nothing had changed. EJ said Sami knew how he felt. He brought up their kiss and admitted he loved her.
Kate told Madeline she knew “everything,” after returning the contents of her safety deposit box. She’d gone through things. "Did you tell Stefano?" asked Madeline. “Not yet,” retorted Kate, noting she just wanted them to move on. Madeline asked if that meant Kate would keep mum. Kate wasn’t sure, admitting she was in a bad position. Later, Stefano met Kate on the pier. He explained that Rafe was back in town and still searching for the truth about Sydney’s kidnapping. The matter was upsetting EJ. Stefano vowed to find out why.
Carly and Jennifer bumped into each other at Alice's grave. Jennifer sensed something was bothering Carly. Carly explained her guilt over keeping Melanie from Daniel and the dilemma she had right now: Daniel thought something wonderful had happened, but it could turn out to be very sad. Jennifer encouraged Carly to get things right this time. Carly thanked Jennifer and left. Alone, Jennifer knelt at Alice’s grave and sobbed about never forgetting her.
Melanie walked in on Philip trying to phone Chloe. The pair discussed Daniel and Chloe and why they’d put off their wedding. Melanie wanted to call Carly, who might know. Philip suggested letting Chloe and Daniel handle this and left. Chloe woke up and Daniel assured her she wasn’t dreaming; they were having a baby. Chloe was thrilled, until she remembered romping with Philip. She asked Daniel how far along she was. Daniel told her two months. Chloe looked concerned. Daniel thought it was because she was worried her elevator accident might have affected their child and assured Chloe the baby was fine. Chloe bemoaned all the time she spent being insecure. Daniel assured Chloe of his love. Chloe said she had something to tell him, but Daniel stopped Chloe from confessing. He insisted he should have been there for Chloe, when she was feeling insecure. A nurse walked in with Chloe’s release forms, and Daniel left. Carly arrived, reminding Chloe her baby may not be Daniel’s. Chloe flipped, insisting this was Daniel's child.
Gabi visited Arianna in jail and told her Rafe was back in town. Later, Rafe arrived at Arianna's cell and vowed to get her out of there. Gabi split. Rafe asked Arianna about her case. She mentioned EJ. Rafe freaked and asked what EJ had to do with any of this. Arianna revealed EJ was her lawyer. Rafe said he would take care of things. Arianna asked if this was about her or Sami.
Kayla listened as Stephanie discussed how happy she was with Nathan and mentioned Philip. Steph said they were still involved, but not romantically. She was worried about something he might have done. Steph explained that if Philip hurt Melanie, she’d run back to Nathan. Kayla started to give advice, when she got a call. Philip arrived, and Steph said she thought he'd done something wrong. Philip warned her to stay out of it. Kayla returned as Steph got called off to work. Kayla accused Philip of hurting people, like her and Steve, when he took his son, Pocket, from them and gave the tyke away. She wondered if he might give up on his marriage just as easily. Melanie overheard.
Daniel visited Melanie at Maggie’s and told her she was going to be a big sister. Melanie wasn’t sure she was ready to share her dad. Daniel promised no one could ever take her place. Back at the hospital, Carly and Chloe went back and forth about Chloe’s pregnancy. Carly insisted Daniel deserved to know the truth. Just then, Daniel returned. Chloe said Carly was just leaving. "The hell I am," retorted Carly.
