DAYS Week of March 16, 2009

Monday

EJ told Nicole that Stefano was concerned they hadn't baptized Sydney yet. Nicole said Stefano could relax; she'd arranged everything. Stefano arrived and asked why Nicole chose St. Luke's for the christening and not the Convent of the Holy Cross. Nicole remembered going to visit Grace there and admitted hearing about the convent. When EJ left to make a call, Stefano asked why Nicole didn't mention visiting the convent. Nicole claimed she was doing charity work. Stefano didn't buy it. EJ returned and said he was off to pick up Johnny. Nicole suggested making it a family outing. She could deal with Sami. As they were about to leave, Stefano told Nicole he wasn't going to tell EJ about the convent yet, but warned this wasn't finished.
Tony met Melanie in the park and revealed he had the means to get the fuels prototype into production. Melanie asked what the catch was. Tony swore there wasn't one. They'd both been wronged by their families, and the money would make them independent. Melanie turned Tony down, noting she didn't trust him. Tony told Melanie it was her decision. “I'm sure you must have a lineup of investors," he noted while leaving. Melanie asked Tony to wait and said she'd work with him, if they had a deal in writing. She also w anted to remain the sole owner of the patent. Tony agreed and asked to see the blueprints. Melanie promised to get a copy and went to see Max at the Cheatin' Heart. She asked him for the blueprints. Max refused. When Max went to the safe to retrieve some cash, Melanie watched him. Later, she told Tony she didn't get the blueprints yet, but would.
Kate hung up the phone and gave Victor the bad news: Lucas and Chloe had eloped and she was going to stop them. Victor wondered how. Kate said she'd tell Lucas about Chloe's affair. Victor figured out it was with Daniel and advised Kate to stay out of it. The pair squabbled back and forth. Victor insisted
there were other ways to go about this. Namely, letting the pair wed and letting Lucas find out for himself about Chloe. Kate didn't want Lucas going through another divorce and asked if she could borrow Victor's jet. Victor said it was out of service. Kate stormed off, determined to stop the wedding. Later, Kate sat on commercial plane bound for Vegas.
Meanwhile, on a plane headed to Vegas, Lucas told Chloe she'd be Mrs. Lucas Horton tonight. Suddenly, Chloe did a 180 and asked Lucas, “What are we doing?” She wondered if it was fair leaving without telling Kate. After all, Kate was so excited about planning their wedding. Chloe wanted to call Kate and invite her to their nuptials, when they landed in Vegas. Lucas assured Kate would be fine. She wanted them to be happy. A flight attendant made an announcement that the plane had to turn back to Salem. A moment later, the attendant said the flight was continuing to Vegas. Lucas said nothing would stop their wedding now. Later, Lucas and Chloe arrived at a chapel.
While Rafe was on his cell turning down a job in New York outside the pub, Sami was inside chatting on the phone with Sister Theresa. She heard Grace crying in the background. When Rafe walked in, Sami said she needed a favor. Grace needed ointment for a rash. Rafe offered to bring it to her. Rafe went off, when Will arrived and dropped a bomb: Lucas and Chloe were eloping. Sami went to make a call. Will asked to whom, but she wouldn't say. He knew Sami was hiding something. Later, at the convent, Rafe visited with Grace. Sister Theresa asked about Sami. Rafe noted she was heartbroken to be away from Grace.
EJ and Nicole met Sami and Will at the pub. Will went to fetch Johnny, while Sami fussed over Sydney. Nicole wondered how Sami handled being away from her kids for months. Sami admitted it was hard. Father Matt arrived, noting he'd be baptizing Sydney. He wondered if Sami would be there. EJ assured Sami she was welcome. Sami went outside and made a call. When Rafe answered, Sami cried about missing her baby girl and wanting her back. Inside, Nicole told Sydney she wouldn't let anyone come between them, as Mia sat on plane headed home, muttering about her baby.

Tuesday

Melanie phoned Tony to discuss exchanging the fuels prototype blueprints for a check, while Brady filled Bo in on the sabotage at Titan. They're database had been wiped out. Bo assumed it was the work of the DiMeras. Max overheard and assumed they thought Melanie was involved. Melanie walked in. Bo asked if she'd had any contact with the DiMeras on the fuels project. Melanie noted EJ made her an offer, but withdrew it. Brady asked if Max had documents that would let them reconstruct the formula. Max lied and said no. After Bo and Brady left, Melanie and Max discussed the blueprints being locked in the safe. Max could tell Melanie was up to something. Melanie swore she wasn't and asked Max to make sure the blueprints were in the safe. Max said he would, later. Melanie left, and Max opened the safe, as Melanie's phone recorded it all. Later, Melanie returned, claiming her car wouldn't start. Max went to check it. Melanie checked her phone, retrieved the safe's combination, and snatched the blueprints. Max came back and told Melanie she'd flooded her car. The pair had a drink and Melanie made a toast to things turning around for them.
Philip and Stephanie made out in the Kiriakis living room. Steph thought about leaving. Philip urged her to stay. The pair watched a movie until Steph moved in on Philip. Suddenly, the lights went on, and there stood Victor. He apologized to the kissing twosome, turned off the lights, and left. Steph was embarrassed, but she and Philip got back to smooching. Moments later, the lights went on again. Victor just heard what went down at Titan and demanded to speak to Philip. Victor yelled at Philip as Brady and Bo watched. Bo scolded Philip for withholding information on a crime. Philip stormed off. Steph consoled him. Bo went to ask Philip for a time line and a list of his contacts the last week. Philip returned to talk to Victor, and Steph and Bo left. Philip insisted he was handling things and accused Brady of spying on him for Victor. Philip brought up Nicole and lectured Brady for siding with her, when she was marrying a DiMera. Brady insisted EJ dropped the fuels project and warned Philip to lay off Nicole.
Hope ran into Daniel, who was fretting over Chloe. Hope thought Daniel looked lost. He went on about how doing the right thing felt so wrong. Later, Daniel wandered alone and imagined marrying Chloe himself. Then, he snapped back to reality. Hope bumped into him again and asked if he needed to talk about what was going on. Bo arrived as the pair were heading off together, and Daniel split. Hope sensed Bo's jealousy and assured him she'd never be with another man. Just then, Bo had another vision of Hope in bed with someone else.
Melani e arrived at the DiMera mansion to see Tony and gave him the blueprints in exchange for a check. Melanie asked about her contract. Tony promised she'd get that and more cash, once he got results from the blueprints.
Kate tried to exit the airplane to no avail. The flight attendant insisted she stay seated. The woman next to Kate watched her go over a list of wedding chapels, while Kate insisted her son wasn't getting married. Kate went on a tirade about Chloe calling her a "money grubbing bitch" and a "whore." Meanwhile, Nathan, the justice of the peace, began to marry Lucas and Chloe, after fetching them a pair of witnesses. A nervous Chloe remembered back to begging God to save Lucas. The phone rang, and Nathan answered it. It was Kate asking if her son and Chloe were there. The phone died, after Kate heard Lucas laughing in the background. Kate went ballistic, fuming that she had to get off the plane. Then, she called Victor and filled him in on things. The ceremony continued, but Lucas couldn't find the rings. The witnesses lent Chloe and Lucas rings. Lucas placed one on Chloe's finger and began reciting his vows. Later, as the newlyweds romped in bed, Kate arrived at the justice of the peace's office, spied a DVD, and played it. To her horror she watched Lucas and Chloe exchanging "I Do's" and freaked.

Wednesday

Philip ranted on the phone that Titan engineers better recreate the fuels project when the doorbell rang. Philip answered it and found Stephanie, who told him the project was gone and he couldn't get it back. Philip signed some papers. He asked Steph to deliver them; then, come back to the mansion. He needed someone to talk to. Steph went off about Victor being so hard on Philip. Philip explained he had to prove he was a winner to his dad.
Max noticed the safe had been opened, looked inside, saw the blueprints were gone, and fumed. Meanwhile, Melanie confronted Tony about needing more money. Tony said he couldn't give her more until things were up and running. Melanie noted she was giving Max half of the $10,000 and that she wanted a contract. Tony said it was being drafted. Melanie ranted. Tony promised Melanie they'd talk in a couple of weeks.
Brady told Nicole that Philip wouldn't bother them any more. She hugged Brady just as EJ walked into the DiMera living room. Nicole said she invited Brady to the christening. When Brady left to take a call, EJ erupted. Nicole noted that he invited Sami to the christening. Brady, Tony and Stefano walked in. Stefano snapped a photo of Nicole, EJ and Sydney. He was overjoyed about christening Sydney and makin g her an official DiMera. Everyone left, accept Tony. The doorbell rang. Tony answered it and found Mia, who asked for Nicole. Tony noted she wasn't there. Tony reminded Mia they'd met when she was pregnant and asked how her baby was. Mia didn't respond; then, admitted she'd given her baby away. She begged Tony not to tell Nicole he'd talked to her. The pair went back and forth until Tony put two and two together: Sydney was Mia's child. Mia confirmed Nicole losing her child and giving Nicole her baby; then, ran off.
Max phoned Melanie and ordered her to get to the Cheatin' Heart with the blueprints. Melanie arrived and handed Max his check, noting she sold the project to Tony. Max was furious. Melanie admitted she didn't have a contract and called herself a "loser." Max gave his check back to her, noting he didn't need it. Suddenly, Melanie got an idea. She phoned Philip and said she knew where he could find a copy of the blueprints. Then, she headed to see him. Philip filled Steph in on Melanie's call. Steph warned him not to trust her. Melanie arrived with a new agreement, demanding her old deal and job at Titan back. She told Philip that Nick hid a copy of the blueprints. Max had a copy at the Cheatin' Heart, but someone stole them. Melanie said it was Tony. Philip ordered Melanie to leave; then, headed to Titan.
Sami and Will prepared to leave for Sydney's christening. Will wasn't eager to go. He brought up the fact Sami hated Nicole and should hate her baby, too. Sami said Sydney was innocent and Johnny's sister. She was just trying to make peace. Will finally agreed they should leave for the church, when Sami admitted she'd been acting weird and wasn't going to the christening.
EJ and Nicole arrived at St. Luke's. EJ went to find Father Matt, when Sami walked in. Nicole told Sami she really wanted her there to see what a happy family she, EJ and Sydney were. Will and EJ wandered in. Nicole told Sami that Johnny had a little fever, so they left him at home. Will announced he was leaving if Johnny wasn't there. Sami said she was, too, after saying a prayer. Brady arrived, but told Nicole he wasn't staying. It would only stir things up. EJ went into the sanctuary and found Sami praying. Sydney spit up all over EJ, so Sami took her so EJ could get cleaned up. Stefano showed Nicole the family christening gown; then, got a call and excused himself. Nicole got a call from Tony, who said they had a lot to talk about. Tony headed to the church. EJ returned all cleaned up and told Sami seeing her with Sydney seemed right. Tony walked in, found Nicole, and whispered that he knew Sydney wasn't her daughter. Brady rushed into the Kiriakis mansion. Steph informed him Philip went off to find Tony. Meanwhile, Philip raced into the DiMera mansion, yelling for Tony.
Will wandered around the park, muttering about his parents. He discovered a distraught Mia sitting there crying.

Thursday

Rafe was on the phone renting an apartment, when Sister Agnes came in and noted he hadn't changed a bit. She questioned him about Sami, and Rafe admitted caring for her. That's why he turned down the job in New York. Rafe mentioned Sami would be bringing Grace home soon and would need his help. Sister Agnes noted this wouldn't be the first time Rafe made a sacrifice for a woman. Rafe said Sami wasn't like anyone else and he didn't consider helping her a sacrifice. Rafe and Sister Agnes fawned over Grace. Sister Agnes remembered back to when Rafe was staying there. Rafe said he wasn't as crazy and defiant since meeting Sami. Sister Agnes asked Rafe about Sami. Rafe extolled Sami's virtues from sweet to stubborn to beautiful. Sister Rafe realized Sami was "the one."
Stefano joined Lexie and Theo at the pub. Lexie said Theo's sitter cancelled. Stefano suggested bringing Theo to the mansion and phoned Mary. Lexie told Theo he'd be going to his grandfather's house and not to play on the stairs.
EJ was touched by the sight of Sami holding Sydney, noting he wanted her to be a part of the tyke's life like Nicole was part of Johnny's. EJ told Sami what an impact she's had on his life. Sami wished EJ happiness with Nicole, even though she'd never trust her. EJ noted that Sami had found someone who made her happy, too. Sami reminded EJ how he'd complained about Rafe to Roman, when he was just trying to be a friend. Sami said Rafe saved her life and she was beholden to him. "Beholden? That's romantic," cracked EJ, adding he wanted Sami to have a happy life. Sami thanked him. EJ greeted Lexie and Stefano and asked if they'd seen Nicole.
Tony told Nicole he knew Sydney wasn't her daughter. Nicole denied it. Tony promised the truth would come out and mentioned Mia being Sydney's real mom. Nicole swore she didn't know Mia. Tony reminded Nicole she'd brought Mia to the mansion a while back and the girl returned earlier and revealed Sydney was her child. Nicole accused Mia of having Tourette's syndrome and being bipolar. Tony feigned sympathy; then, said they should inform Stefano. "Inform me of what?" growled Stefano. Nicole went on about how much it meant to have Stefano there on this special day and suggested putting their differences aside and making it a new beginning. Stefano and Lexie went off to see Father Matt. Tony congratulated Nicole on her performance. Nicole begged Tony not to ruin the day. EJ arrived to fetch the twosome. Father Matt began the baptism, asking Lexie if she was willing to fulfill her role as godmother. She was. Then, he turned to Tony, who remained silent.
20 Stephanie and Brady freaked at the thought of Philip going after Tony. The pair took off to find him. Meanwhile, Philip yelled for Tony at the DiMera mansion, until the butler informed him he wasn't there. Philip left and headed to the Cheatin' Heart for a drink. Brady and Steph walked in. Philip swore everything was under control. He'd get the fuels project plans back or crush Tony. Brady warned Philip not to go after Tony. Since Tony was on the outs with Stefano and EJ, perhaps Philip could make him an offer he couldn't refused. Later, Steph and Philip were back at the Kiriakis mansion, where Steph rustled them up some food. Alone, Philip muttered he'd try things Brady's way, but if they didn't work, it was onto Plan B.
Will tried to comfort Mia and offered to take her to the Brady Pub for a bite to eat. She declined. Will said he'd be there if she changed her mind. Bo walked into the pub and reunited with Will. Then, Mia arrived. Will went to talk to her. He noted his grandmother owned the place, so she could have whatever she wanted. Will went to the kitchen and returned with burgers for two. Mia noted she was from out of town. Will told her about his parents and siblings. Mia noticed Bo across the room. Will said that was his uncle, the police commissioner. Will went to get some fries, and Mia took off. Bo suggested Will go after her or give her a call. Will decided against it. Mia sat alone and vowed to find a way to see her baby again.

Friday

Mia thought back to giving her baby to Nicole. She didn't realize how much it would hurt. Mia entered St. Luke's and prayed for her child. Meanwhile, Tony didn't respond when Father Matt asked if he was prepared to take on his role as Sydney's godfather. Nicole thought back to Tony confronting her about the baby not being hers. Tony responded; then, went on to talk about the newest DiMera. Nicole fainted. Tony and Lexie suggested she get to the hospital. Nicole insisted she was fine and the baptism resumed. Lexie got a page, excused herself, and ran into Mia. Lexie mentioned her niece was being christened. Mia looked inside and realized it was her baby. Sami walked out and told Mia she was emotional from the ceremony. She should never have come. "Me neither," concurred Mia. And they left.
Later, at the DiMera mansion, EJ and Stefano discussed how protective they felt about Sydney. Stefano noted that Nicole didn't look well. She admitted she was a little tired. Tony made a toast to Sydney and to Nicole "for everything that she has gone through to bring us this little miracle." Lexie told Nicole about the cute blonde teenager, who was watching the christening as if it was her own baby. Nicole excused herself, telling Tony they needed to talk. Lexie and EJ both made cracks to Stefano about him being in church.
Caroline asked Will if he got stood up. "Girls are weird," he retorted, noting that Mia had split and he didn't know why. He didn't know her name or her phone number. Will told Caroline that Lucas was in Vegas getting married again. Caroline wondered if that bothered him. Will didn't think his dad's marriage was any of his business. Caroline sensed something was amiss and asked if Will and Sami had had a fight. Will noted it was hard to fight with someone who was never around. He admitted having a feeling his mom was in trouble again. Mia returned. Will held up her keys and asked if that was what she was looking for. Then, he introduced Caroline and himself. "I'm Mia," she responded. Caroline warmed up their burgers. Mia admitted she couldn't pay. Caroline said that was fine. She was Will's guest. Mia didn't want charity and turned to leave. Will called Mia "kind of a jerk;" then, apologized and wrapped up her burger to go. Mia thanked him and left.
Grace fussed. Rafe told Sister Theresa she probably missed her mother. The nun mentioned how dangerous this situation was with Grace's biological father not even knowing she existed. Rafe said they had to make sure EJ never found out for Grace and Sami's sakes. He vowed not to let the DiMeras ruin their lives.
Rafe suggested the nun pra y for Sami and wondered what she was up to. He left, and Sister Theresa prayed. Later, Rafe found Sami in the park. Sami started to cry and told Rafe she went to Sydney's christening. She thought it was wrong that she wasn't doing the same thing for Grace. Sami went on about how she had to bring her child home. Rafe urged Sami to wait until EJ wouldn't be suspicious of her having a new baby. Rafe assured Sami that Grace was fine and happy. They would bring her home, but only when it was for good. Rafe got a call. So did Sami. It was EJ reporting Johnny had an ear infection. Sami raced off to see her son. Rafe wondered where she went.
Nicole questioned Tony about what he wanted from her. "How much? Name your price," she announced. "I don't have one," said Tony, hinting he might want revenge. Sami barged in demanding to know where EJ was. Nicole told Tony they weren't finished, but wondered why he hadn't said anything, yet. "Timing is everything," he noted. Sami went off on EJ for celebrating and planning his wedding, while their son was sick. EJ assured her Johnny was fine and went to fetch him. Alone, Sami phoned Sister Theresa, who admitted Grace was fussy and her rash was worse. Sami said she was coming right over. "I'm bringing my baby home," she vowed. EJ overheard and asked, "What do you mean, bring ‘my baby home?'"
