Monday
Lucas dreamt of romping with Chloe. So did Daniel. Chloe woke up next to Lucas and asked what was wrong. They discussed Kate firing Chloe, but Lucas said that wasn't it. He'd had a dream about Chloe not loving him. Chloe tried to reassure her hubby. Lucas decided to take a drive to clear his head and ended up at Maggie's. He explained something was wrong. His mom no longer liked Chloe. "She pulled a complete 180 on her," said Lucas. He couldn't figure out why, but knew it was something big. Maggie urged Lucas not to obsess over things he couldn't control.
Daniel picked up a leave of absence form at the hospital. Later, he turned up at the Java Café and was haunted by more hot memories of Chloe, when she walked in. Chloe asked about the paper Daniel was holding. He explained it was a leave of absence from the hospital. "But you're not going?" asked a distraught Chloe. Daniel said he wasn't, but admitted Chloe's choosing Lucas over him was driving him mad. Chloe confessed she wasn't happy either and still had feelings for Daniel. "But I know that I did the right thing," said Chloe. Daniel insisted he wanted Chloe to be happy. Chloe noted that Kate had been horrible since finding out about their affair, and it was making Lucas moody. Chloe was sure Lucas wasn't going to stop until he figured things out.
Brady told Bo something happened to Stephanie and that he'd heard Victor and Philip talking about something going down tonight. Bo made a call; then, told Brady he may have saved Steph's life. Bo left, telling Brady to stay put. Melanie entered and started grating on Brady. He tried to ignore her until she mentioned finding Steph's earring. Brady asked to see it, when he got a phone call from a cop. He hung up and told Melanie, Steph was kidnapped and ran off.
Victor and Philip had a phone chat about the impending Sefano/Steph swap. Owen and EJ had a phone chat, too. EJ asked when Owen would be bringing Steph to him. "Actually, sir, the answer to that question would be never," responded Owen, noting Steph was a dear person and he didn't want anything bad happening to her. EJ demanded Owen do the job he paid him to do. Owen screamed that he wasn't going to let EJ hurt Steph, as she listened from her morgue drawer. Philip phoned EJ and told him he was late for the swap. He noted Stefano wasn't looking so hot and EJ better hurry. EJ told another flunkie they were going to get Stefano. Owen rolled Steph out of the drawer and told her he was going to save her. "So I'm free to go?" asked Steph. "Yes. You're free," retorted Owen. Steph was thrilled until Owen announced they'd be starting a new life together. Steph mentioned needing clothes and cajoled Owen into going back to the mansion to fetch her things. Owen said he'd go get them alone. Then, he slid a screaming Steph back into the drawer.
EJ arrived at the pier. Philip told EJ to walk Steph out and he'd do the same with Stefano. When EJ hesitated, Philip realized he didn't have Steph. The two men started fighting, when Bo and the cops arrived. Bo told EJ he'd put him in a pine box if anything happened to Steph. Later, at the hospital, a cop arrested EJ. Before he could haul EJ off, he came upon Stefano. EJ was thrilled his father was alive. Later, Stefano's monitors went off and a nurse rushed to help him. Meanwhile, Bo asked Victor where Philip and Steph were. Victor hadn't a clue about Steph, but said he sent Philip to New York. Brady arrived and Victor called him a traitor. Bo noted they still had to find Steph. That's why he needed to know where Philip was.
Owen snuck into the Kiriakis mansion and headed upstairs to get Steph's things. Philip raced in and vowed he'd find Steph. Melanie arrived and asked if Philip was looking for Steph. She held up Steph's earring and noted she'd found it on the terrace. Philip asked if Melanie saw anyone else around. "Your gardener," responded Melanie, as Owen snuck downstairs.
Tuesday
Nicole arrived at the hospital to check on EJ, who noted Stefano was ill and might not make it. Lexie raced in and asked why Stefano was brought in by the police in a diabetic coma. EJ said Stefano had been kidnapped. Lexie chastised EJ and Stefano for going after Philip and insisted this stop now. Lexie left to visit Stefano and assured him they were doing all they could to help him. Alone, Nicole told EJ the DiMeras shouldn't let Victor and Philip win. EJ said he was fed up with watching innocent people get hurt. He wanted to go to Bo and point him in Owen's direction. Nicole worried that if EJ came clean, he might go to prison. EJ promised that wouldn't happen. Lexie returned with a report on Stefano's condition. EJ vowed to make things right.
Victor chastised Brady for being a traitor. Bo noted Victor and Philip would be facing murder charges if Brady hadn't spoken to him. It was because of Brady that Stefano was alive. Bo said he needed to find Philip. Victor insisted Philip was in New York. After Brady left, Bo and Victor went back and forth about how to handle things. Bo wanted to do things by the book. Victor didn't. Bo said he could protect Philip by arresting him and putting him in jail. Once Stefano talked, Bo was sure he'd have Victor and Philip on kidnapping charges. Victor scolded Bo for throwing him and Philip under the bus. Bo asked why Victor didn't trust him. "Because trust is earned," snapped Victor, noting Bo could start by giving him respect by acknowledging him as his father. Bo noted Victor wasn't the father that raised him and seeing how Philip turned out, he considered himself lucky. Victor ordered Bo to leave. Later, Bo arrived at the hospital and arrested EJ, noting it would be a lengthy jail stay unless EJ told him where Steph was. EJ said he'd do whatever he could to help, but wanted to see Stefano, first. Later, Bo led EJ off. Nicole wanted to follow, but EJ told her to stay put. Stefano rambled on to Nicole about the phoenix ring that was handed down to him. Stefano said it was the reason he was indestructible. At the cop shop, Bo promised EJ would never see his wife and kids again, unless he helped him bring Steph home.
Melanie told Philip she found Steph's earring on the terrace and saw Owen there. Philip insisted Owen would never hurt Steph. Melanie wasn't convinced, noting Steph's abduction had to be an inside job. Philip wondered if Melanie might really be the culprit. Melanie swore she wasn't and recounted finding the earring and running into a nervous Owen around 9 p.m. Philip questioned Henderson, as Owen listened. Henderson noted Owen had left on vacation. Philip realized Owen took Steph and vowed to find him. Soon, Brady arrived. Philip feared he'd call the cops if he saw them, so he and Melanie took off. Later, the pair split up to find information on Owen. Melanie returned with a major clue: Owen's dad worked at a mortuary. They left to talk to him.
Victor found Brady at the mansion. Brady noted he was looking for Philip and so were the police. Victor called Henderson and told him to show Brady out and never allow him in again. Brady said he was sorry for the way things turned out tonight. Victor thought Brady was really sorry about being cut out of his will. Brady insisted he didn't care about the money, nor being a power hungry and ruthless Kiriakis.
Steph gasped for breath in the morgue drawer, afraid she was going to run out of air and die. Owen returned and freaked when he thought she had. He gave Steph mouth-to-mouth and begged her to come back to him. Finally, she did, but yelled for Owen to get off her. Owen couldn't believe the thanks he got for saving her. Steph claimed she was disoriented and begged Owen not to put her back in the drawer. "Nothing is going the way it's supposed to," lamented Owen. Steph freaked when she saw Owen had a gun. Owen said he thought they could go away together, but it wouldn't work since the cops were after them.
Wednesday
Nicole chatted on the phone with a lawyer, demanding he get EJ out on bail. Brady arrived, demanding to know where Stephanie was. Nicole swore she didn't know. Brady was sure the DiMeras knew and said he was ready to do anything to get her back. Nicole reminded Brady of his promise not to tell her secret about Sydney. Brady told her she should worry about Mia keeping it, not him. He noted running into Mia at an AA meeting and how she was claiming to be a recovering addict to account for the school time she missed. He also mentioned Mia seeing a teen boy. Nicole wasn't worried, until Brady noted it was Will.
Rafe dreamt about romping with Sami, when his cell rang. It was Sami calling to say she was taking Grace to visit Caroline and tell her Rafe was adopting her. Rafe got another call and told someone he was still interested. Meanwhile, Sami prepared to leave with Grace, when Will came in. He asked for $10 to have breakfast out. Sami asked if he'd be meeting Mia. Later, Will and Mia chatted at the Java Café. When Will went to get a drink, he ran into Kinsey, who went off on Mia. Will defended Mia, noting she was a good honest person. Mia thanked Will; then, got a text from Nicole and left. Kinsey sat with Will and went off on Mia, again. Mia met Nicole in the park. Nicole wanted to talk about their agreement and baby secret. Mia went on about someone just saying she was honest, but she wasn't. Nicole asked if it was Will. The conversation turned to Sami, and Nicole went off about how she was trying to steal her husband. Mia said Sami was nice and loved Grace so much that she was letting the guy who was protecting her adopt her.
"Is this true?" barked Caroline at Victor, raging about the news story detailing what went down on the pier. "You promised that Stephanie would be safe. Do you think waging war with the DiMeras is going to keep her safe?" asked Caroline. Victor vowed he'd never let anything happen to Steph. Caroline asked to see Steph. Victor said she wasn't there. Caroline wanted to call her. Vic made excuses. Furious, Caroline left. Later, she arrived at the pub. Sami asked what was wrong. Caroline said she was sorry she ever told Bo that Victor was his father. Sami announced Rafe was going to adopt Grace. Caroline wasn't for the idea, noting Sami hardly knew Rafe and he didn't have a job. Rafe walked in and noted he did. He started a construction gig, today. Caroline asked if Rafe was hungry and went to fix him something. Sami told Rafe that was a good sign. Arianna popped in after another run in with Brady and put in her two cents about Rafe adopting Grace. Sami said Caroline didn't like the idea either. Nonetheless, Sami insisted she was a ll for Rafe being Grace's dad.
Philip and Melanie arrived at the cemetery and spotted Owen's father. Melanie volunteered to go in and investigate. Philip phoned Victor, who suggested he leave town. Philip said he wouldn't until he found Steph. Meanwhile, Owen tied up Steph, again. He knew she'd try to run away, if she got another chance. Steph swore she wouldn't, since Owen had a gun. Owen's dad came in and asked what was the matter. Owen explained he needed to lay low for a while and asked if he could stay there. Melanie knocked on the door, so Owen headed back to Steph, who was yelling from the morgue drawer. Owen opened it and ordered Steph to keep quiet. In another room, Melanie cried and told Owen's dad about her sick grandma. She asked to take a look around, and he gave her a tour. Soon, Melanie spotted Steph's earring on the floor. Melanie ran and told Philip about the earring. Philip wondered how to get inside. Meanwhile, Owen told Steph that now that her friend had been there, there would be a change of plans.
Thursday
Kinsey asked Will where his girlfriend went. Will noted Mia wasn't his gal pal. Meanwhile, Mia told Nicole that Rafe was going to adopt Sami's baby Grace. Nicole said it was a great idea. Mia didn't believe her, noting Nicole just thought it would keep Sami away from EJ. "So two good things come out of this," smiled Nicole. Mia said she was tired of Nicole and Dr. Baker playing games and lying. Nicole said Mia wouldn't have to lie, if she stopped palling around with Will. Mia refused to stay away from him. Nicole had her baby, but that didn't mean she could run her life. Mia warned Nicole to stay away from her or she'd be sorry. Later, Mia met up with Will at the Java Café, and they chatted about her living arrangements. Then, she led him off to play skee ball off camera. When they returned, Will suggested teaching Mia baseball next time. Later, in the park, the pair came close to a kiss.
Rafe assured Sami he'd win Caroline over, regarding his decision to adopt Grace. Sami realized it was going to be difficult explaining this to her mom and dad. Nicole walked in and commented how Rafe, Sami and Grace were the picture of "domestic bliss." Rafe announced he was adopting Grace and told Nicole she could go tell EJ. Nicole seemed happy for them. Sami suspected she was up to something. After Nicole left, Sami regretted Rafe telling her their plans. Rafe noted they weren't going to be able to keep it a secret. Besides, now Nicole wouldn't be so worried about Sami anymore. Sami agreed, but couldn't shake the feeling Nicole was up to something.
"When the hell can I get out of here?" barked Stefano, who was anxious to leave the hospital. Lexie reported her father's condition was stable. Stefano wanted a phone to call EJ. He had to get him out of jail. Lexie said the police forbade Stefano from having a phone, since he was a murder suspect. Stefano wanted a lawyer. Abe arrived and wanted to talk "off the record for Lexie's sake." Stefano refused. "Don't you let him die until we find Stephanie," Abe told Lexie. "And after that, I don't give a damn." When Abe left, some reporters found him and grilled him about the fight on the pier. Lexie called their behavior inappropriate and instructed Maxine to call security.
Brady asked Maxine if Melanie was supposed to be working today. Maxine noted Melanie was very late. Brady thought something was wrong. A nurse appeared and said she saw Melanie wheeling a gurney upstairs. Brady went to find her. Meanwhile, Melanie brought Philip into a room where the dead bodies were carted before being taken to mortuaries. Melanie explained the drill to Philip. The plan was to have him delivered to Owen's father's morgue. Later, Melanie told Philip he had to get naked like the other bodies. Philip protested, but agreed to take off his shirt. Melanie said she's be waiting in the cemetery; then, zipped Philip into the body bag, when the door opened. It was Brady, who suggested calling Bo. Philip said Owen wouldn't talk if the cops questioned him and they had to find Steph. Brady volunteered to help and watch out for Melanie. Later, two workers found Philip's body and took it away.
Stephanie tried to talk Owen out of looking for Melanie. She claimed Melanie had already told her about her ailing grandmother. Owen didn't buy it. Steph started coughing and asked Owen for water. Owen untied her hands and fetched her some. Steph went on about how Melanie would never be looking for her, since she was in love with Philip. Then, she laid it on thick about how she wished she'd met Owen before Philip. Owen completely untied Steph and kissed her, as she reached for his gun. An angry Owen grabbed Steph's hand. Steph covered, saying she was afraid of guns ever since Philip was shot. Owen decided to look outside for Melanie, but wanted Steph to drink something, first. It would make her sleep since she was going back in the drawer. Owen left and his father came in. Soon, Philip's body arrived. Owen's dad said it wasn't on his list and ordered the two delivery men to take it away. Outside, Brady and Melanie hid behind a tombstone, but Owen discovered them. He knocked out Brady; then, pointed his gun at Melanie.
Friday
Lucas ran into Maggie at the Java Café and wanted to continue their talk about the weirdness going on between Kate and Chloe. He remembered Maggie telling him something the night he fell off the wagon. Maggie insisted she knew nothing. Chloe interrupted. Lucas filled her in on their conversation. Chloe’s cell rang. It was Daniel looking for Lucas, so she gave him the phone. Daniel said Victor wanted Lucas to come the mansion. Chloe told Lucas she’d join him, later. Alone, Maggie told Chloe it was just a matter of time before Lucas remembered Chloe betrayed him with Daniel. Chloe realized when he did, Lucas would leave her.
Will and Mia were just about to kiss in the park, when Mia’s cousin Jamie interrupted. Will left and ran into Tad. They discussed Kinsey constantly talking trash about Mia. Tad said if Will was into Mia, it was cool with him. Meanwhile, Jamie went off on Mia about Will. Mia swore he was a nice guy and just a friend. Jamie didn’t want Mia getting hurt again. Soon, Jamie dropped some bad news: the lease was up on her apartment and she and her boyfriend were leaving town. Mia was going to have to make other living arrangements or go live with her mother. Mia insisted that wasn’t an option. After Jamie left, a dejected Mia sat on a bench. Mag gie came along and sensed something was wrong. Mia explained her predicament: her cousin was leaving town and she had nowhere to go.
Kate arrived at the Kiriakis mansion and found Daniel. He told her Philip was in trouble. Kate wondered why no one called her. Victor walked in and explained the situation was under control until Brady screwed things up. Daniel split, and Victor told Kate about kidnapping Stefano, the DiMeras retaliating by kidnapping Stephanie, the plan to exchange both on the pier that went awry, and all hell breaking lose once Brady went to Bo.
The cops were now after Philip and he was on the run. Lucas arrived and Kate gave him the run down on things. Then, Chloe showed up and was greeted by a nasty Victor. Lucas commented to Kate about how mean Victor always is to Chloe. Soon, everyone was seated and Victor explained that Philip was in trouble. Chloe wondered why Brady wasn’t there. "My grandson is dead to me," spat Victor, noting that Brady had made "an unfortunate decision." Translation: he went against the family. Later, Chloe had another run-in with Victor and ended up in tears. Daniel comforted her by putting his arms around her. Kate spotted them and seethed. Will arrived and asked Victor if it would be okay to invite a few friends over to use his pool. Victor was fine with it. Will told Lucas about his talk with Victor. Lucas asked if the girl who was at his baseball game was one of Will’s friends20and started teasing him. Will got upset and said he and Mia were just pals.
After some hemming and hawing Owen’s father accepted Philip’s body, even though the "corpse" wasn’t on his list. Inside the body bag, Philip muttered that he had to find Steph. When the men delivering him left, Owen’s dad decided to let Owen handle the new arrival. Then, he rolled Philip’s body in the drawer next to Steph. Outside, Melanie tried to revive Brady, while Owen held a gun on them. Owen realized Philip must be around too and demanded to know where. Melanie said Philip went off on his own. Brady finally came to, and Owen took them both away. Melanie dropped her hospital badge as they left. Later, Melanie and Brady were locked in a crypt. Melanie feared they were both going to die. Meanwhile, Owen’s dad told Owen a new body had been delivered and wondered why Owen didn’t seem surprised. In his morgue drawer, Philip tried to reach out to Steph, when he heard moaning from the drawer beside him. "Stephanie? Is that you?" he asked.
