Days Of Our Lives Recaps
DAYS Week of Nov. 5, 2007
Monday
At the Brady home, Hope sifted through a box of baby clothes that Kayla
brought for Ciara. Kayla told her she missed Pocket. Hope revealed that
Belle slept with Philip. Kayla asked if she told Shawn. Hope said no. What
about Bo or Marlena? Kayla queried. Hope said she promised she wouldn’t say
anything, but Kayla reminded her that Bo hates secrets. Hope decided to tell
her husband, but Kayla then worried that all hell will break loose once he
knows. Hope said she could handle Bo's temper, but sighed that she hated
keeping secrets. She then lamented that her son never gets a break.
Philip came to Belle's room and asked if he could take Claire out, but she
explained that Marlena had Claire for a few days. He asked if they could
talk about their tryst, but she said that there was nothing to talk about
and that she felt guilty about it. She revealed that Hope knew the truth and
that Belle promised to stay away from Philip. He asked her to look him in
the face and tell him that she didn't want him. “I want Shawn. Now leave,”
she huffed, and walked away from the door. He followed her in and shut the
door behind him. He tried to get her to make love with him again, but she
said no. She went into the bathroom to change, then came out and accused him
of using her vulnerability about John's death to get her into bed. During
their argument, he kissed her. She pushed him off and told him to leave. She
then showed him a photo of Shawn and Claire and insisted she couldn't lose
them. He reminded her that there was once a similar photo of him, Belle and
Claire. "Get over it. I have," she responded. They rehashed the end of their
marriage, after they discovered Claire was Shawn's biological child and
Philip left town. "I never felt more worthless or unwanted in my life," she
cried. He apologized. "Do you love me?" she asked. "More than ever," he
replied. "Then get the hell out of my life," she urged. He refused to
believe that's what she wanted. He discussed their passionate encounter
again. "It wasn't mercy sex," he said. "You reached out for me. Touched me.
Kissed me. That wasn't charity. It was love." He kissed her again.
Shawn and Bo had their meeting with Commander Flynn, who said that because
of the letter he received about Shawn, Shawn would not be entering the
academy. Shawn noted that Bo and Roman could vouch for him, but Flynn
pointed out that Bo was half-cop, half-cowboy and had a record of his own.
Shawn tried to defend his actions with regard to Claire, to no avail. Bo
asked about trying again in January. Flynn said they would reconsider
Shawn's application then and in the meantime, he should prove himself worthy
of being part of the Salem PD. Bo suggested that Shawn should help out at
the station. Flynn said that would be a good idea. Shawn thanked him. After,
Shawn told Bo he was sure that Philip wrote the letter. Bo warned his son
not to go after Philip and jeopardize his future with the academy. Bo
pointed out that it wasn't the letter, it was the contents of the letter
that were the problem. "Okay, I get it. I made the mistakes. It's up for me
to prove to them that I'm not that guy anymore," Shawn said.
Bo went home and told Kayla and Hope what happened at the station and how
Shawn thinks Philip is targeting him. Kayla excused herself to go to work.
Once alone, Hope prepared to tell Bo about Belle and Phil. "I need for you
to promise me that you're not going to go off the handle," Hope announced.
He promised. She dropped the bomb. He was furious that he had just defended
his brother to Shawn. "Shawn was right. Philip's doing everything he can to
make him look pathetic. He's got to know about this," Bo declared.
Shawn returned to the room at the Pub, just missing Belle and Philip's
smooch. Philip excused himself, but Shawn asked if he wanted to stick around
and hear about how his meeting at the station went. Shawn accused Philip of
writing the letter, but Philip denied it. He left. Belle finally piped up
and admitted that she wrote the letter. Dun, dun, dun....
Tuesday
Decked out in T-shirts with environmentally friendly slogans, the Salem U
kids gathered for a Save the Earth benefit at the Cheatin’ Heart. Stephanie
was flustered when a patron ordered a virgin Sex on the Beach. She started
to get cranky so Max came to the rescue by mixing the drink himself, while
obviously showing Steph how to make one. After praising his mixology skills,
Stephanie wanted to show off one of her talents. Plucking a maraschino
cherry from the garnish tray, she tied the stem with her tongue and
challenged Max to do the same. Their banter came to a halt when a glum
Morgan walked in and Max rushed over to her.... Nick and Chelsea were also
at the event. They marveled over a letter inviting Nick to an embassy ball
in his honor and noted that Artemis and DeMarquette's dad must be important.
They were kissing when Jett walked up and announced that Ford is out on bail
and might get away with rape. The cop explained that the Decker family is
loaded and Ford's dad is a top lawyer with connections. They feared poor
Cordy will crack under the pressure, since her testimony is the only thing
that can put Ford away. Jett explained that even Morgan's near-rape is too
hard to prove since anyone at the party might have drugged her. After
expressing his desire to nail Ford, Jett left Chelsea and Nick who resumed
smooching.
Shawn was floored by Belle's admission that she — not Philip — wrote the letter, which kept Shawn out of the police academy. She sobbed that after
John's death, she couldn't bear having Shawn in a dangerous job. Meanwhile,
Bo flipped out when Hope told him that their daughter-in-law cheated with
Philip. She stopped her husband from charging out and tried to cool him
down. Bo listened with mounting disgust as Hope recounted how she discovered
an obvious post-coital Belle. Bo started to bolt again, but Hope reminded
him of Shawn and Philip's vicious fight at the pub. He realized that if
Shawn inevitably went after his rival, it would kill his chances of ever
getting into the academy. Still, Bo started to phone his son. After going
round and round Hope at last convinced her husband to keep mum for Shawn's
sake. He sighed that it would be difficult and he'll never look at Belle the
same way again.... Back in their room above the pub, Shawn lashed out at
Belle, who cried that he hated her. Shawn softened, assuring his fiance
that there is nothing she could do that he couldn't forgive. She clung to
him as she flashed back to the sex with Philip. After telling Belle he
loved her, Shawn announced it was time to tie the knot. A none-too-enthusiastic
Belle listed reasons they should wait, pointing out that they are in debt
and it's too soon after her father's death. Shawn kept pressing until she
finally agreed to wed him on Thanksgiving.
At Lucas and Sami's pad, he continued to try to talk her out of marrying EJ,
saying that he can't let her go. Sami argued that this was her way of
assuring that they can ultimately be together. EJ strolled in to casually
show off honeymoon brochures. After Lucas and Sami laughed in his face, EJ
said he had a court order and demanded Sami hand over his son. She refused
and a heated argument ensued. EJ dropped a bombshell: he had arranged to
marry Sami the very next night!
Max listened as Morgan blamed herself for driving Ford home. She said he was
there so that Max could say "I told you so." Of course, he didn't do that and
supported Morgan. She told him that people are taking Ford's word over
Cordy's, which angered Max. Morgan gave Max a kiss. "What was that for?" he
asked. "For being a man, a real man," she responded. Stephanie, watched from
behind the bar and pouted. Her face brightened after she successfully made
some drinks on her own, but then Ford sauntered up. "Hey, baby. So, who do I
have to kiss around here to get a beer, huh? A roomful of Alpha Chi Thetas
all partying? I'm up for it if that's the case. So, give me ... a draft," he
sneered. Steph just glared at him, so Ford got loud. She fired back that
he's a pig and their argument got so heated that everyone in the bar turned
to stare in stunned silence. After the creep shouted that he wouldn't budge
"until you serve me like the wage slave you are," Max stormed over to kick
Decker out. Ford called Max a "grease monkey grunt with a bar rag." The guys
started to scuffle until Jett pulled Max off Ford, who loudly boasted that
he's not going to jail. After Ford slithered out, Max made sure Stephanie
was okay and Chelsea got the party started again with a "green" pep talk.
The Belle drama over, Bo and Hope spent some happy family time with Ciara.
The phone rang. After, Hope told Bo that Shawn wants to see them to deliver
some big news. They showed up at the kids' place to find Shawn and Belle all
dressed up. Belle squirmed as Shawn announced that they were marrying on
Turkey Day. "We wanted to see both your faces," said Shawn. Oh, they were
making faces all right.
Back at the Cheatin' Heart, Ford returned. As he lurked in the doorway and
locked eyes with Stephanie. She flashed back to being pinned down on a bed.
Wednesday
Philip was in titan mode on a business call when Kate dropped by his office.
She observed that the wheeler-dealer is his father's son. He vented about
his situation with Belle, which alarmed Kate, who pointed out that his ex
loves Shawn and always has. Bo and Hope, however, not so much with the Belle
love. In the young couple's room above the Brady Pub, they struggled to
offer congratulations about the news that Shawn and Belle will wed on
Thanksgiving. Bo immediately pressed Shawn to go downstairs to the bar for a
father-son talk. Alone, Bo noted that this might not be the best time to get
hitched. Shawn was puzzled by his pop's attitude and wondered if Bo's
resistance has something to do with Belle. Bo didn't spill the beans and
reluctantly toasted to his future daughter-in-law. The bride-to-be,
meanwhile, squirmed as Hope dropped into a chair and glared at her. Belle
promised that she won't cheat on Shawn again and will make him happy. "Which
is exactly why we've decided not to tell him," Hope responded, making it
clear that Bo knows what Belle did. Needless to say, Belle was horrified.
She kept pledging to be a good wife. The Brady men returned and Shawn
announced that his dad had given his blessing, which surprised Hope and
relieved Belle.
Back in Philip's office, Kate warned her son that he must not get involved
with Belle, so he kept mum about the sex romp. Kate said that if he loves
Belle, he'll let her go and respect her decision. Philip reminded his mom
that she interfered with both Belle and Shawn and Sami and Lucas. Kate
admitted that she made a mistake with the former, but defended trying to
drive a wedge between her son and Sami. When she reported that the couple
has gotten an annulment, Philip observed that she got what she wanted. He
took that as a good sign that he'll get his way with Belle, whom he
proclaimed will never marry Shawn.
In Lucas and Sami's apartment, she reeled from EJ's announcement that they
would be married the following night. Sami pleaded for more time, but EJ
argued that Stefano took a turn for the worse. Lucas cracked that Stefano
does that "like clockwork." He tried to talk Sami out of going through with
it, but she insisted that she must end the Brady/DiMera vendetta. Lucas
walked out of their apartment, slamming the door behind him. EJ tersely
demanded that Sami let him see his son. She got the baby and let EJ hold
him. He instantly softened and they shared a tender moment; she urged him to
make sure the baby's needs will always come first.... It turned out that
Lucas went to see Stefano. Lucas blasted him for masterminding the marriage
and accused the Phoenix of going so far as arranging to have his goons
attack Kate. Stefano convincingly countered that he had nothing to do with
hurting Kate. A suspicious Lucas made a beeline to his mom, who maintained
her innocence. She contended that the vendetta is far-reaching and tried to
bolster her argument by saying that John died and he's not a Brady. Lucas
didn't buy it and wondered if his mother staged the whole thing with EJ in
order to break up his marriage to Sami. Despite his mother's denials, Lucas
called EJ, pretending that Kate had confessed. EJ quickly spilled that it
was Kate's idea. Turning on Kate, Lucas charged, "You did it again, you
betrayed me." Regardless of her excuses, Lucas huffed: "You've lost me, and
this time for good. You've lost me and your grandson forever."
Sami wanted to know what EJ had been talking about on the phone, but he
wouldn't say. After he left, Sami had a vision of
Colleen, who said Sami was getting what she wanted. Sami sneered at the
vision, protesting that she loves Lucas, adding that the vendetta is all
Colleen's fault. She asked Colleen what she saw in Santo. The apparition
rhapsodized about the danger, desire and freedom, remarking that she and
Sami are alike. "Look inside yourself and you'll see the man that you desire
most," she advised.... EJ went to Stefano, who was pleased with his son's
progress. Though EJ balked at the idea of taking little Johnny to Italy
(because he can't do that to Sami), he vowed that the child will be raised a
DiMera.
In the pub, Bo and Hope chatted about the Thanksgiving nups, hoping for the
best, but not so certain things will turn out well. They were interrupted by
Lucas, who begged them to come to Sami and EJ's wedding because it's going
to be — an intervention.
After sharing a kiss with Belle, who remarked on his beer breath, Shawn went
to brush his teeth. She sat on the bed, sparking a flashback to her night of
passion with Philip. She was roused from this by a call from Philip, who
requested that they meet right away. She dropped the bomb about her
Thanksgiving wedding and hung up. Shawn emerged from the bathroom and asked
who she was talking to. Belle lied that it was a wrong number.
Thursday
Roman, Kayla, Bo, Hope and Steve discussed Sami and EJ's nuptials. Bo and Hope told the group that Lucas wants them to stage an intervention and stop Sami from going through with it. They agreed to do it. Roman wanted to drag Sami out of the church, but Hope calmed him down. They organized a game plan. Roman said if it didn't work, then they could shoot EJ dead. Steve suggested deporting him. Bo said they had no grounds. They resolved to talk her out of it and left. Roman fingered his gun.
Sami, dressed in black, prepared to leave the apartment to marry EJ. Lucas wasn't thrilled. "If you do this, our future is over forever," he told her. Will came home from hanging with a friend and was chagrined to see his mother dressed for the nups. He told her there was nothing cool about what she was about to do. Sami insisted that she didn't have a choice. Will told her he wanted to go back and live with Carrie and Austin. Sami said they would talk about it later. Will walked out. Lucas told her that maybe it wasn't such a bad idea that their son moved away. He asked her again not to marry EJ. With tears in her eyes, Sami slipped off her wedding ring and left.
At the DiMera mansion, Stefano congratulated EJ on getting Sami to marry him. "It's a great day for all the DiMeras," Stefano told him, then reminded him of the responsibility ahead. EJ said he knew he had to raise his son to take over the empire. Kate came in, yelling at the men for telling Lucas the truth about the staged attempt on her life. She pulled a gun on them. EJ took it from her. An argument ensued. EJ pooh-poohed her worry, saying that Lucas always forgave her in the end. He said he had to get to the church. Kate asked for her gun back. EJ reluctantly returned it.
At the church, Sami lit a candle and talked to God, explaining why she was marrying EJ. She had another vision of Colleen. Colleen suggested that she was interested in EJ. No way, Sami said. Colleen wasn't so sure. Sami told her to shut up. EJ came in and asked who she was talking to. Nobody, she replied. He commented on her beauty. "In Spain, the brides wear black as a symbol of their devotion until death," he said. "It's a good thing we're not in Spain then," she retorted. He told her he wouldn't force her to marry him. She left to get some air and ran into Roman, who told her they needed to talk. Steve, Kayla, Bo, Hope and Roman tried to get her to call off the wedding. She fainted from their barrage. When she came to, she asked them to support her, but they said they couldn't. Sami turned to go get married. The group returned to the Pub. Steve took off on a mysterious mission. Bo asked Roman for his gun, concerned that he might let emotion get the best of him. Roman turned it over to him and walked out. Outside, he reached down and pulled another gun out of his sock.
Kate went to Lucas's apartment to apologize. He wouldn't accept it. She asked if there was anything she could do to get him to forgive her. "Stop the wedding," he responded. No can do, Kate said. He told her that was the only deal they could make. She left. A babysitter came to watch the twins. Lucas took his gun and left.
Stefano joined EJ and asked where Sami was. In the vestibule, he replied. Stefano worried that the Bradys would try and talk her out of going through with the ceremony, but EJ insisted he wasn't concerned. EJ and Stefano spied a mysterious woman in black in the pews. The wedding march started. A solemn Sami walked down the aisle, just as three gloved hands separately trained their guns on the altar.
Friday
At the police station, Bo asked Shawn how his first night in the cop shop
went. Shawn reported that it went well, but there was a lot of paperwork
— and some crazy arrests. Bo asked his son to get him coffee. Shawn
called Belle, who was with Claire at the Brady Pub. He told Belle how happy
he was at the station. Belle put Claire on the phone with Shawn and she
called Shawn Daddy. She said Daddy again when she saw Philip come in. She
left the phone on the table, which made Shawn think they got disconnected.
Belle was uncomfortable and told Philip that she had to study for a test. He
got the hint that she wanted him to leave, but said he really came to
apologize for how he'd been pushing Shawn's buttons. While they were
talking, Claire climbed on top of the bar to get to her toys. She
accidentally spilled hot coffee on herself and began screaming. Belle rushed
to her side. Philip and Belle rushed Claire to the ER.
A miserable Sami joined EJ at the altar. Father Kelly began the wedding
ceremony. Unbeknownst to the couple, three guns were trained on them. When
it was Sami's turn to say I do, she was momentarily silent. EJ reminded her
that her saying so would help end the vendetta. Sami reluctantly said her
vows and gave EJ a ring. Stefano clapped at the end of the ceremony. EJ went
to kiss the bride, as three shots rang out. EJ fell to the floor,
apologizing, as Sami and Stefano hovered over him. The EMTs arrived and
began working to save Elvis. EJ told Sami he couldn't feel his legs. She
went to sit in a pew and tried to rub the blood off of her arms. Stefano sat
next to her. Sami reminded him that she did what he wanted, married EJ, and
now the vendetta should be over. Stefano reminded her about the "till death
do we part" vows and that Sami should give EJ will to live.
The call about EJ's shooting came into the station. Bo hurried over with
Shawn in tow. Shawn accidentally left his cell phone behind. Bo and Shawn
found a shell-shocked Sami and tried to comfort her. The detective on the
scene gave the Brady boys the update. Sami told Shawn that a Brady did it.
She then insisted on going to the hospital and seeing her husband, but first
asked Shawn to call Lucas. Shawn suggested she do it, but she begged off.
The detective found three bullet casings in three separate locations. Bo
realized there were three shooters and three guns. Bo hypothesized that Kate
was one of them.
Lucas arrived home. The babysitter/nurse was surprised he was back so soon.
He paid her handsomely and sent her on her way. After, he took a bottle of
vodka out of the cabinet and debated pouring himself a glass. Billie came by
to see her brother, after hearing about the shooting on the radio. Lucas
admitted he went to the church, and arrived in time to hear Sami and EJ
pronounced husband and wife and to see EJ get shot. He said he ran off for
fear he'd be arrested. Lucas insisted he didn't shoot EJ. She urged him to
be honest with Bo and Roman so that he wouldn't look guilty on the back end.
She left to return to the college campus. Once alone, Lucas got his gun out
of the locked box.
Steve arrived at the pub and made his way to the bar. He looked around for a
hiding place, then took a gun from his inside pocket and put it under a
dishtowel. Caroline came out and asked what he was doing. He covered that he
was just getting a drink. She said she heard about the shooting on the radio
and worried it was Sami. He told her that it was EJ. "How did you know?" she
asked.
At the hospital, a doctor declared Claire okay. Belle left a message for
Shawn. Kate arrived, having called Titan looking for Philip and told he was
at the hospital. She pulled him aside and gave him her gun, then asked him
to get rid of it. "What kind of trouble are you in?" he asked. "No
questions," she begged, then asked for his help. He agreed to do as she
asked. She told him she wouldn't forget it. After, Philip offered Belle and
Claire a ride home.
At the hospital, the doctor told Sami and Stefano that EJ lost a lot of
blood and had damage to the spinal cord. Stefano vowed that every Brady
would die if Elvis does.
