DAYS Week of November 1, 2010
Monday
Kate arrived at the mausoleum to inform Vivian that she's getting moved...to the crematorium! Viv screamed in horror and then woke up with a start. It was just a nightmare, but she still worried about what Kate might do to her. Meanwhile, Kate told Victor she approves of what he's doing to Viv and will follow his lead, but warned him that he needs to make sure Melanie and Philip don't also find out.
Maggie visited Hope in prison. Hope whispered that she's terribly saddened by what she sees in her fellow prisoners, adding that there was a woman who "supposedly" died from appendicitis. Maggie seemed concerned about Hope's odd behavior but Hope assured her that she's fine. Hope then got an update on the Victor/Maggie situation. Maggie said she can't imagine being with anyone else after Mickey. Hope admitted that she's had a lot of time to think about her own marriage to Bo and that she misses him terribly.
Nathan sweetly proposed to a stunned Stephanie, who happily accepted. They shared a passionate kiss and fell into bed. They agreed to keep things simple and honest and Steph assured Nate that being engaged to Philip was a mistake from the beginning.
At the hospital, Philip encountered EJ and they tangled about being on the board together. EJ cracked that they asked a DiMera to join to keep the Kiriakis in check. Phil made it clear that he's changed his ways since marrying Melanie; EJ him about really trading in all of his secrets and lies for true love.
At the Pub, Caroline implored a very confuse Kayla to stop digging around with the paternity test swap. "No one wants to be the baby's father so leave it at that," Caroline pleaded and pointed out that no one got hurt. Kayla demanded to know why Caroline was so invested. "Because I did it," she confessed. She said she wants to protect Stephanie from heartbreak and was inspired to perform the switch after she saw Steph talking to Ian about how much she worries about losing Nathan. Kayla didn't buy it and called Caroline a betrayer for interfering in Steph's life.
Bo and Carly continued to talk at the pier, where Bo told Carly that Kayla will always side with Hope. Carly was hurt but said it was okay as long as Bo still loves her. He assured her that he does and they kissed. Later, Chloe arrived and caught up with the duo. Bo asked when Carly and Chloe became friends; Carly explained the best she could. When Bo stepped away to take a call, Chloe thanked Carly for her loyalty as a friend, but worried that it ruined her relationship with Melanie. Carly brushed it off, adding that Mel and Daniel will be fine as long as no one learns the truth about
the baby. Bo returned and broke the news to Chloe about Arianna's accident. She had no idea what had happened because she was out of town. She rushed off to find Daniel while Bo questioned Carly about her newfound friendship with Chloe, adding that he doesn't buy her story. He said he worries about his loved ones too much sometimes.
Melanie was emotional as she struggled to tell Daniel the truth. "Chloe's not a good person and I will never be okay with her," she finally said. Daniel was hopeful that they'd work things out with time. Later, Chloe arrived and gave Mel her condolences about Ari. Mel thanked her; Daniel was pleased. Maggie arrived and was excited to hear about Chloe and Daniel's honeymoon but wanted to pick up some pumpkins first for the kids at the shelter and ran off. Daniel went with her and gave Mel a look before he departed. Chloe sensed that she interrupted something between Mel and her
dad earlier and inquired.
Back at the prison, Lee asked Hope about her visit and agreed to take inventory at the clinic. When Lee left, Hope quickly rifled through some files. "You shouldn't have died. I wonder what other women are in danger," she said.
Back at the Pub, Caroline was determined to prove to Kayla that she's not always a nice person and pointed out that she lied about Bo's paternity for 10 years. "I have a big great that the truth came out and Ill be damned it I'm going to let that happen again," she spat, then brought up what Phil did to Pocket and said he doesn't deserve to have another child. Kayla chided her for trying to play God but Caroline refused to apologize for her actions. Then Caroline begged Kayla to stay mum about the truth. Kayla broke down and rushed off; Bo saw her on her way out.
Daniel told Maggie he thinks that Mel and Chloe's relationship is on the mend. Meanwhile, Mel called Chloe out on only stopping by to see if Mel had still kept her secret from Daniel.... EJ made a call saying he knows Sami shot him and he can prove it.
Tuesday
Nicole was at the park and reminisced about spending time with Sydney.
Kinsey arrived and was excited for a job opportunity with Nic, who had to
explain it doesn't have anything to do with showbiz, but Kinsey helping Nic
see Sydney again. Kinsey refused at first, but could be easily persuaded‹ if
Nic paid up. She agreed to match Kinsey's Pub pay and then some.
At the prison, Hope continued to rifle through the medical files and saw a
list of patients’ names in alphabetical order. She quickly saw another
pattern: all of the patients had unexpectedly died. She covered when Lee and
the warden entered. Hope asked for a job reassignment and asked the warden
if she could talk to Bo, claiming she's worried about Ciara.
Outside the Pub, Bo asked an upset Kayla what's going on. She thought about
Caroline's admission and told Bo he needs to know the truth. Carly then
arrived; Bo assumed the ladies' recent fight was what was eating at Kayla. So,
he told her to back off and pointed out that his relationship with Carly is
none of her business. He felt relieved but was surprised that Kayla didn't
lash out at him. Distracted, Kayla admitted she was in the wrong, then asked
if Bo and Carly were curious about why she'd suddenly changed her opinion.
They all marched back into the Pub, where Kayla confronted Caroline and
demanded that she tell Bo what's going on. Before they could finish the
conversation, Stephanie and Nathan arrived to happily announce their
engagement.
EJ went into Sami and Rafe's apartment to look for proof that she'd shot
him. Then he fantasized about fighting with and consequently sharing a
steamy reunion kiss with his ex. Alas, EJ was brought back to reality when
he heard Sami unlock the front door. He hid and when Sami stepped away, he
spied his daughter sitting alone on the couch. He told Sydney how much he
misses her and when she cried out "Daddy!" Sami came rushing back in. EJ hid
again while Sami tried to explain to Sydney why she can't see her dad right
now. EJ was emotional and frustrated.
At the Kiriakis manse, Victor told Philip he's not ready for him and Melanie
to move in just yet and advised him to stay at Maggie's until after the
renovations are complete. Phil surmised Vic just doesn't want them there.
Vic went to taunt Viv; Phil tried to figure out what was really going on.
Vivian felt ill and realized the fumes from the coffin were finally taking
their toll on her health. She broke out in a sweat and hallucinated that
she was covered in maggots. As Victor was chatting with Viv, Phil suddenly
showed up and called Vic out on lying about the renovations. So, Vic
continued to come up with excuses, one of which Phil bought. They departed
together, much to Viv's dismay. She pleaded with Phil to figure out she's
there.
At the park, Nic and Kinsey struck a deal. Sami arrived just in time to
overhear them talking about Nic seeing Sydney. Kinsey quickly threw Nicole
under the bus, pointing out that she's obsessed with Sydney. Sami warned Nic
yet again to stay away from her daughter, lest she get a restraining order.
She then threatened to have Bo and Roman find whatever skeletons are still
in Nic's closet. Nic thought of Vivian. She said she just wants the child to be happy and hopes Sami doesn't do
something to jeopardize that. Sami thought about Arianna and agreed to let
Nic go without a restraining order. After Sami left, Nic was overcome with
emotion and determined to find away to get Sydney back in her life.
Back at the Pub, Caroline pulled Kayla aside and warned her not to ruin
Stephanie's big day. Kayla refused to leave town before straightening
everything out. Steph inquired what's going on; Kayla told her everything's
spun out of control. Despite Caroline's protest, Kayla explained that
there's been a big mistake regarding Chloe's paternity test. Meanwhile, Bo
went to visit Hope, who said something terrible is going on at the prison
and it has to stop.
Back at home, Sami freaked out when she had a vision of vengeful Arianna
playing her Flip phone confession and worried that someone would find the
camera before she could. Meanwhile, EJ ordered to have Rafe followed and was
upset that he couldn't find the proof he's looking for.
Wednesday
Today's episode was pre-empted due to the network's news coverage of President Obama's press conference.
Thursday
Stefano was short of breath and feeling week as he flashed back to EJ in the hospital. He summoned Marco to get him a glass of orange juice and told him to find out who shot EJ and "take care of it," regardless of who it is.
Brady ran into EJ at the park. He thanked Elvis for giving him the heads up about Arianna, which allowed him to say good-bye to her. EJ, of course, was preoccupied with what Ari was trying to say to him before she died and asked Brady whether he might know something. His questions piqued Brady's curiosity and he was upset to realize that EJ only summoned him to Ari's bedside because he hoped she'd tell Brady what EJ wants. EJ apologized and explained that Ari had proof that Sami shot him and played on Brady's guilt. "Don't you think we owe it to Ari to find the proof?" he asked. Brady refused to believe that Sami would pull the trigger.
At the prison, Hope explained to Bo that what she's discovered is not good. They started chatting about Ciara. Hope used code words to relay important information about the mysterious April situation. Bo realized Hope needs help and offered to take care of it. Meanwhile, Lee worried that Hope was passing on information and told the Warden, who decided to take matters into her own hands.
Philip broke the news to Melanie that Victor doesn't want them moving into the mansion just yet. He was determined to find out why. Mel figured Victor isn't too keen on her moving in because of her ties to Carly and was understanding. They informed Maggie, who said she also thinks Victor is keeping something from all of them.
At the Pub, Kayla told Stephanie that Philip is the baby's father, not Daniel. Steph was confused about why they were talking about it in front of Caroline and was insistent they keep things quiet lest they ruin Chloe and Daniel's happiness. Kayla warned her daughter to be prepared for when the truth comes out; Steph implored her mom not to spill the beans so she doesn't lose Nathan to Melanie. Kayla got a call about Steve and had to catch a plane to care for him. Steph was relieved she'd leave before saying anything. Out of spite, Kayla revealed that Caroline switched the tests. Steph was floored; Caroline continued to defend her actions. Kayla made Stephanie promise her that she'd talk to Chloe. After, Nathan showed up; Caroline bought everyone a round to celebrate the engagement. Melanie and Maggie showed up just in time; Nathan made sure she was okay with the news.
At the mausoleum, Vivian thought she was dead when she found herself in a beautiful garden. There she had a spooky encounter with Lawrence and feared she'd gone to hell. Lawrence reminded her that everyone hates her and no one will help her. Viv woke up happy to realize that it wasn't a vision of the future. Back at the Kiriakis manse, Phil asked Brady if he knows why Victor wouldn't want him to move in. Brady played dumb.
Bo asked Carly some medical questions about appendicitis and worried about Hope putting herself in danger to get more information. Carly suggested they team up to do some digging themselves.
EJ returned home, where Stefano told his son to find whatever proof there is to implicate Sami fast. He was frustrated that tefano didn't offer to help him before. Stefano said he knows what to do and pointed out that he knows EJ wants to have control over Sami so he can decide whether to send her to prison or get her back in his bed.
At the mausoleum, Brady checked in on Viv ,who was getting more insane by the hour. Then Philip entered and wanted to know who Brady was talking to.
Friday
Victor was grumpy that so many people know about Vivian being in the sarcophagus. He groused to Nicole. Kate entered and revealed that she's one of the people who know about Viv. Nic quickly realized Kate has the upper hand and is blackmailing Vic. "That's right; Victor is my bitch!" Kate smirked and basked in the glow of her newfound power. Victor told Nic they'll try to make the best of the bad situation.
Meanwhile, at the mausoleum, Philip caught Brady talking to Viv just as he said, "Why are you still alive?" Brady covered; Phil was dubious. Viv was desperate for Phil to notice her. Phil saw the Bluetooth, heard Viv begging for help and realized she's in the coffin. He demanded that she explain why she poisoned Melanie and wanted to kill Maggie; she promised to explain when she gets out. Phil told Brady that they can't just leave her there. Brady explained that Viv deserves it for all that she's done, adding that the Kiriakis family will pay if Viv gets out. Phil was convinced and happy to keep her there as well.
At the DiMera manse, Stefano called EJ out on his additional motivation for getting the goods on Sami, suggesting that he really wants to reunite with her, not send her to prison. EJ got a call and seemed pleased with what he heard.
Sami called Roman to invite him to a memorial for Arianna. He was concerned about how Rafe would view his presence there. Sami assured him it'd be okay and fretted again about locating the camera. A mourning Rafe entered; Sami consoled him.
At the Pub, Melanie tried to write something to say about Arianna but was frustrated; Maggie offered some guidance. They both admitted they are thrilled to still be living under the same roof, but are confused about why Victor changed his mind so suddenly.
At Ari's memorial, everyone was upset when EJ showed up unannounced. Rafe let him stay and refused to make a scene. Melanie, Caroline and Gabi each gave emotional speeches. EJ chugged some champagne and also stood up to say his part, calling Ari his friend. Sami was visibly disgusted. After, Rafe said his peace. Meanwhile, someone took a box from Ari's room. Mel was concerned that Phil and Brady missed the memorial. Roman missed a call from Kayla and asked Caroline if she knows what it might have been about; she fibbed that Kayla just wanted to say good-bye. EJ approached Rafe and asked to talk to Sami alone; Rafe refused to let it happen. He was miffed and reminded them that once he finds Ari's proof, it's all over.
Back at Victor's, Nic broke the news to Brady that Kate knows about Vivian; Victor blamed him for the trouble. Kate was surprised when Phil entered and said he also knows about Viv. They all agreed that their sympathy for Viv ended when she started whining and they just can't bring themselves to save her.
