Monday
Sami was relieved that Rafe had a plan to keep Nicole from exposing the truth. He suggested they let Nic spend time with Sydney to buy themselves some time. Sami was reluctant about using her child as a pawn, but finally agreed to the plan. Rafe made a call to prevent Nic's online threat from going viral. Meanwhile, Lexie caught EJ making travel arrangements for Switzerland. EJ gave Lex a pound to give to Theo, pointing out that it's the first dollar he ever earned. She was confused and wondered if EJ is saying good-bye. She urged him to tell her what's going on but he wouldn't. After she left, he was upset at himself for lying and admitted that it was
good-bye.
Nicole thought about her proposition for Sami and drank a martini. "I can bring Sami down to her knees; right where she belongs," she smirked and thanked Arianna for helping to give her a second chance with Sydney. Later, Rafe brought the child over and set some ground rules, including that EJ can't know about it. He warned that if she breaks the rules, the arrangement is over. He was concerned and told her to stop drinking, too. Rafe wondered if Sidney is the only reason Nic didn't go to the cops with the video, then tried to play on her feelings by suggesting that they put everything behind them and trust each other — for Syd's sake. He also eyed the laptop on the desk. He pretended to take a call and inserted a USB drive into Nic's computer, erasing Sami's downloaded confession. "One down; one to go," he
said to himself.
At the Pub, Jennifer caught up with Bo, who wondered why she was back in town. She explained that Jack left her to find himself. Bo called Jack a jerk and told Jen she's better without him. She asked him to keep quiet about it. He thanked her for being on Hope's side.
At the prison, Hope asked Carly about Bo's well-being. Carly admitted that he's suffering because Hope's in the clink but is still on her side and wants her to fix the situation there, even though it's dangerous. They agreed to act friendly in case Carly needs to return to relay more information about Lee Michaels. Later, at the clinic, Hope tried to get some information out of Lee about her history but she avoided answering. Later, she tried the same with the warden. Meanwhile, Carly met up with Bo at the Pub and quickly realized that it's not over between him and Hope.
Sami told Will about Nicole's bartering and begged him to tell her that she's doing the right thing so they'll both be safe. She apologized for leaning on him so much but said that he gives her hope that everything will be okay. Will reminded his mom that her strength is an inspiration but she fretted that Nic would turn Sydney against her. He assured her Rafe has everything under control and rushed off to take a math test.
Jen went to the hospital, where she happily greeted Lexie. She introduced Jen to Ben and had to rush off. Ben was impressed that Jen was a member of Tom and Alice's family. When they shook hands, Jen was annoyed to see a familiar bracelet on his wrist and figured out that Ben has also been on a "walkabout" to find himself.
Back at the DiMera manse, vengeful EJ packed his bags and prepared to carry out his own plan to take his kids. "I will do this and I will enjoy it," he told himself. He hesitated when he eyed a portrait of Stefano. He left to pay Sami a visit, claiming he wants to bury the hatchet. Sami wasn't buying it and demanded that EJ leave. She turned around to take a call (from EJ's henchman) while EJ quietly entered the apartment and closed the door behind him. He chloroformed Sami, who passed out. Ali entered the room and screamed at the sight of EJ.
Tuesday
EJ chloroformed Sami as part of his plan to take the kids, which hit a minor snag when a startled Allie entered and screamed. She asked about her mom; EJ told her that Sami is just sleeping. Little Johnny ran into his dad's arms and EJ was back on track. Johnny was happy when EJ said they're going to be spending a lot of time together. EJ was miffed when Johnny explained that Rafe has Sydney. He called the guy he hired to tail Rafe and was upset that he'd lost track of Hernandez because he was pulled over for a ticket.
Maggie woke up from a nightmare in the sarcophagus and started hallucinating about bugs and spiders. Vivian needled Mags about telling Victor that Mags skipped town. Viv then explained that the paint fumes is what's causing her to lose her mind. "It's a shade called 'Color me cuckoo!' " she trilled. She continued to taunt Maggie, who was unraveling.
Stephanie and Nathan ate lunch at the Pub and discussed new parents Chloe and Daniel while Caroline lurked nearby. When Nate stepped out, Caroline reminded her granddaughter to keep quiet. Steph said the early birth of the baby threw her for a loop and she needs to do the right thing; Caroline was none too pleased by this. Nate reported that he was on the phone with Victor, who explained that Maggie went on a cruise without telling anyone and might not come back when it's over. He was worried; Steph agreed to postpone their wedding until they find Mags and wasn't concerned about losing Nathan. "I know what I have to do now," she insisted.
Meanwhile, Brady came by to visit Chloe and saw Melanie, who noticed that he was on edge. Later, a concerned Victor arrived to ask Mel about Maggie's whereabouts. She was concerned, adding that leaving on a whim was completely out of character for Maggie. So, she called but got voicemail. Brady suggested that Mags took her own advice and is staying away from Victor.
At the Kiriakis manse, Nicole continued her play date with Sydney and made plans to be with the child on Christmas, much to Rafe's chagrin. Nic warned him that if he doesn't do what she wants, then he and Sami will both spend the holidays in the clink. Rafe wasn't rattled and told her that her plan could backfire at any moment.
Nic was annoyed to see Rafe fiddling with her flip camera and told him to get out, adding that he's not going to find what he's obviously looking for. Rafe departed and was excited that his plan seemed to work. "The next time Nicole plugs that camera into the computer, it will erase everything!" he said. It didn't take Nic long to figure out she was duped. Brady arrived and wanted to know what's up. Nic covered about the video but admitted to Brady why she struck a deal with Sami to spend time with Syd.
Back at the hospital, Nathan was late and kept a patient waiting. Maggie asked him where he's been. They shared a moment; Mel admitted she's not sure if she wants to come to his wedding.
Johnny packed his bags but EJ explained that they'll have to have their adventure another time. Later, EJ was confused about why Rafe would take Sydney to see Nicole. Rafe returned home and couldn't rouse Sami; he freaked when Johnny said EJ had been there. Sami woke up and couldn't remember what happened; Rafe said he's going to have Roman arrest EJ.
Nicole paid EJ a visit, saying she can get his children back. "I can hand you Sami on a silver platter," she smiled.
Wednesday
Bo and Carly made plans to visit Chloe at the hospital and give her a baby gift. Jennifer walked into the Pub just in time to see them smooch. Awkwardness ensued; Bo left the ladies to catch up. Carly pointed out that Jen seeing her with Bo must be tough and invited her to meet Chloe.
Melanie and Nathan continued to bicker at the hospital. Ben walked in and chided them for acting immature. He dismissed them both for the day. They agreed it hurts too much to work together anymore. Meanwhile, Chloe and Daniel cooed over baby Parker in the nursery. Philip arrived bearing flowers. Daniel stepped out. Phil quipped, "That's a good looking baby" and told Chloe he's happy for her. Stephanie was at the nurses station and
freaked out when she spied Chloe and Phil chatting alone. Daniel asked her if she's okay. She covered about why she's so anxious; he didn't believe her. After, Steph was wracked with guilt and determined to find a way to expose the truth without hurting her grandma.
At the DiMera manse, Ari struck a deal with EJ to bring down Sami in exchange for Sydney and a role in helping EJ raise the child. He was confused so she presented the camera and played Sami's confession. Jackpot! EJ was surprisingly shocked, especially that Brady doesn't know what Nic is up to. Nic explained her plan to ask Sami for Syd first, but it didn't work and she's desperate to be a part of the child's life and feel complete
again. EJ was dubious and agreed to put the past behind them if she trusts him. They shared an emotional moment as they both admitted they once loved each other.
Rafe explained to Sami that EJ attacked her. She dissuaded him from having EJ arrested and asked him if he got the camera. Rafe explained that he set everything up for the files to be destroyed; Sami was pleased. Rafe called the cops anyway. When he turned to leave, EJ was waiting on the doorstep.
Back at the hospital, Jen met Daniel and made a veiled comment about being bound to someone for life when you share a child with them. Steph rushed out when she encountered Phil. Carly tried to talk to Mel and begged yet again for forgiveness. Mel refused; Daniel overheard their chat and demanded to know what's going on between them. Melanie couldn't shake the feeling that everything is wrong. Meanwhile, Nathan went to the Pub. Steph arrived and asked for his help, explaining that a lot of people are going to get hurt by something Caroline did.
Ben asked about the patient Mel and Nate were tending to and was stunned to hear that he had unexpectedly died from the mysterious virus. He panicked and told Maxine to make a list of everyone who was exposed with him until they figure out what he died from. Meanwhile, Chloe thanked Carly for being such an amazing friend to her. A very happy Nic showed up bearing gifts; Chloe wondered what she's been up to.
Daniel confronted Mel and urged her to tell him what's going on and vowed to be there for her. She couldn't keep it from him anymore.... Ben informed Carly about the patient in question. Meanwhile, Nate and Melanie both came down with sudden fevers; Mel passed out in Daniel's arms.... EJ presented the camera to Rafe and Sami, just as Bo arrived and asked what's going on.
Thursday
At the hospital, Chloe and Philip marveled at how lucky they are that everything worked out. Phil thanked Chloe for not outing their one-night stand; Phil took a liking to baby Parker and revealed that he's ready to start a family with Mel. Ben and Carly waited for the CDC analysis on patient zero's condition. Ben explained that Nathan is the doctor who treated the guy that died from the mysterious viral infection. Carly freaked when she found out they were out of the hospital and tried to tracked them down.
Stephanie was worried about Nathan, who came down with a sudden fever at the Pub. He brushed off her concern and focused on what she was trying to tell him before regarding Caroline. "It's really, really bad," she sighed. Then Nathan passed out. Meanwhile, Melanie also felt sick while trying to tell Daniel the truth. He questioned her about who she treated earlier that day; she brought up the patient with the high fever and not wearing a mask. Then she also passed out.
At Rafe's, Bo ordered EJ to leave, citing the restraining order. EJ left, grudgingly; Sami was pleased and thanked Bo, who told Rafe he knows exactly what Sami's done. They went to the Pub to talk it over. Bo warned Rafe to prepare himself for Sami's takedown from EJ. Rafe, sensing that Bo had figured everything out, admitted he can't do anything to protect her because she has no defense. Bo suggested Rafe wed Sami so he can't testify against her. Rafe told Caroline that EJ might go after Sami so he wants to marry her; she gave her blessing. Later, EJ returned to threaten Sami again and flaunted the camera in her face. "I wish I'd succeeded!" she spat when he said that he knows she shot him. She claimed she was out of her mind. They continued to fight about who would win in court. EJ said he knows about the gun in the river; Sami claimed there isn't one. Rafe called; Sami didn't tell him that EJ was there.
Steph rushed into the hospital and told Ben what happened to Nate. He ordered that she get tested as well. Phil entered the ER and was wondering why Mel, who'd just arrived with Daniel, needed tested. Ben fretted out about the virus attacking more people. Phil and Steph waited to hear about their significant others. Phil was outraged that they didn't take better precautions; Steph made a dig about his marriage. Phil then offered to give the hospital whatever extra funding they needed to figure out what's wrong. Meanwhile, Nate and Mel were quarantined together and comforted each other.
Steph later paid Chloe and the baby a visit an apologized to Phil for attacking him. They informed Chloe that Mel and Nate are very ill and that Daniel could be, too. She worried that Parker could be in danger; Maxine assured her he's fine. Chloe snapped when Maxine tried to take her baby back to the nursery. Bo arrived and caught wind of the situation; Carly was on edge and emotional about possibly losing her daughter.
Back at the Pub, Rafe told Gabi that EJ wants to hurt Sami and he has to do something about it. So, he placed a call for help.
Friday
EJ and Sami continued to face off. EJ tried to strike a deal, saying he'd stay quiet if she hands over the kids. Sami was willing to work something out but EJ wasn't interested in sharing time — he wanted full custody and her out of their lives. Sami tried to turn the tables, saying she'll go after him for kidnapping Sydney if he tries it.
Brady was drunk and had a dream of Isabella, who encouraged her son to set Vivian free, adding that Viv isn't the only one who is buried alive. He woke up with a start. Meanwhile, Viv happily toasted with Gus and thanked him for setting her free. She called Maggie to see how she's doing in the tomb. Mags begged for water and her freedom, to no avail. "You'll be joining poor departed Mickey sooner rather than later. Cheers!" Viv taunted.
Nicole confronted Rafe at the pier and wondered if he'd still love Sami when she's behind bars. She was miffed that Rafe had taunted and manipulated her when he let her spend time with Sydney. They fought. Nic spat that Sami's finally getting what she deserves. Rafe railed at her for blackmailing Sami and kidnapping Sydney. He called Nic jealous. "She makes me look like Mary Poppins!" she seethed. Rafe reminded Nic that she'll never be Sydney's mother, no matter how hard she tries to be and continued to berate her for being stupid enough to think that her deal with EJ is legit. "You think EJ's really going to let you near his child?" Rafe teased.
Victor paid Chloe and baby Parker a visit. "You finally did something right; kudos to you," he said. She rolled her eyes. Philip entered and broke the news to Vic about Melanie and Nathan's condition and the mystery virus. Vic was worried about how Maggie was dealing. Phil told him she's still MIA. Later, Kate arrived to check in on Viv. Brady explained that he wants to free Viv; Kate reminded him that she'll turn against them all if he does.
Viv continued to taunt Maggie, explaining that she wouldn't be in this situation if she hadn't gone after Victor on their wedding day. Maggie countered that Vic doesn't love her because she's heartless and angry.
Victor was upset that no one had heard from Mags. He mused that everything seems to be spinning out of control and contacted Viv on the Blue tooth. She pretended to be locked up in the tomb and acted "deranged" to fool him. She then told him that she regrets wasting her time loving him because he never loved her back but pointed out that now he has nothing. Vic sensed a change in Viv's voice, as if she suddenly has the upper hand.
Back at Sami and Rafe's, EJ lost his cool and when Sami tried to call him a monster. "You shot me in the head!" he yelled. He challenged her to call the police. Sami was insistent that his plan wouldn't work. "If I go to prison, you will, too." She said. He reminded her that Johnny and Sydney are the ones who will really suffer if that happens. Sami was in tears and desperately tried to get EJ to realize that her kids need her and to do the right thing for their sakes. He was touched by her plea but after one look of a photo of Rafe with Sami, he demanded her to take action and told her not to even attempt running away.
Victor informed Brady that he only got an e-mail from Maggie about her trip. Brady quickly put things together, added that Viv forged a bunch of letters from Maggie before, and rushed off to the mausoleum. Viv also figured out what's going on.
Kate was surprised to see Chad show up at Stefano's. "You had to now this moment was coming; go get your husband," he said and pulled out a knife when Kate ran upstairs.
EJ met up with Nic, who was shocked that everything worked out in his favor. She wanted to know what it all means for her. Meanwhile, Sami ran into Rafe's arms and sobbed as she explained what happened. "We have to get married... tonight," he said.
