Monday
EJ left Arianna a message anxious to hear the info she had that could help him get his kids back. Arianna phoned EJ back and said she had to talk to him face-to-face.
Bo and Carly picked Ciara up from a sleepover at Caroline's. She said she didn't feel good and couldn't go to school. Carly left father and daughter alone. Bo surmised Ciara didn't want to go to school because of the bully. Ciara promised she'd go to tomorrow, if Bo took her to see her mommy.
Lee told Warden Smith she had things covered with Hope. Hope walked in and asked why they'd stopped talking. Smith concocted a story. When Hope questioned Smith about April's death, Smith said she'd order an investigation. Her phone rang and it was Bo, wanting to bring Ciara to see Hope. Later, Hope was thrilled when Ciara arrived with Bo. Hope told Ciara how much she'd missed her and asked why she wasn't in school. Bo said Ciara wanted to see her mommy. Ciara asked if Hope had a best friend there or a bully. Hope told Ciara not to worry about her. She'd learned to accept people's help. Ciara showed Hope pictures from her ballet recital. The guard announced visiting time was up. Ciara didn't want to leave, so Hope told her they were always together in their hearts. Later, Smith asked Lee if Hope was still digging around about April. They couldn't have her suspecting anything.
Sami awoke to breakfast in bed from Rafe. They discussed Rafe's resignation from the FBI. Sami couldn't believe Rafe was sticking by her after all she'd done. He reiterated no one was going to find out she shot EJ, since only they and Will knew about it. The twosome started kissing. Sami admitted she'd never felt so happy or loved. Arianna arrived wanting to talk to Rafe. Sami noted she'd be taking Sydney for a checkup, but noticed Arianna was acting weird. "What is going on?" she asked. Arianna dodged. Sami went to tend to Sydney.
EJ arrived at the hospital, asking why he had to rush down there. Jason told EJ to wait for him in room one. Jason and Nathan joked that EJ needed a personality transplant. Carly and Jason gave EJ a clean bill of health before being summoned off to deal with a coding patient. Carly and Jason consoled the patient's widow. Nathan summoned Jason to deal with another matter; then, asked Carly how Melanie was doing. Carly thought back to suspecting Nathan as the man Carly slept with and told him to stay away from Melanie. Nathan didn't get her attitude. Later, Jason asked Carly if she wanted to grab a cup of coffee with him after their shift was over. Carly said she had to go home to Bo, but hoped she and Jason could be friends.
Sami took Sydney by to see Lexie. While she took a call from Caroline, Lexie watched the tyke. EJ happened upon Sydney and gave her a kiss. Sami saw EJ with Sydney and erupted, demanding he hand their daughter over to Lexie, so they could talk. "How dare you put your hands on my child!" spat Sami, noting she was protecting Sydney from "the sadistic maniac" who made her think she was dead. They argued, then EJ kissed Sydney goodbye, promising they'd be together soon. Sami left. Alone, EJ vowed to get his kids back, knowing Arianna would help him.
Arianna told Rafe that she'd overheard Will and Sami talking about Sami shooting EJ. Rafe said Arianna heard what she wanted to hear, but Arianna insisted Sami put a bullet in EJ's head. "You can't substantiate a damn thing. No one can," said Rafe, noting he was with Sami that night. Rafe called EJ an evil psychopath who'd cast a spell on Arianna. She countered that Sami had done the same to Rafe. Arianna could tell Rafe was lying and already knew all about Sami's guilt. Rafe countered that Sami was a mother with kids who depended on her, while EJ was a lowlife criminal. Arianna couldn't believe Rafe wanted her to lie for Sami. She was appalled at what her good guy brother had turned into. "What has Sami done to you?" she asked, just as Sami returned home.
Tuesday
Vivian dreamt about Victor tickling her; then, snapped back to reality. She heard a voice. It was Victor, who found Gus's remote and wondered what was going on. Vivian told Victor she was in the sarcophagus. Victor asked if she was in there with Isabella. Vivian promised to explain once she got out. Victor wanted answers before that. Vivian admitted Brady put her in there. "I don't have time for your lies. Sleep tight," he retorted. Vivian noted Nicole was involved and probably dragged Brady into this. "Why would she like to see you entombed?" asked Victor. Vivian begged for her freedom, noting there was a lever under the lid. Victor couldn't get it open and headed home for help.
At the pub, Nicole looked at pictures from Daniel and Chloe's wedding and asked Brady if he thought they'd have a happy ending, too. Brady didn't want to talk about getting married. He was consumed with what he'd done to Vivian and what might happen if anyone found out. Nicole continued rhapsodizing; this time, about having a baby with Brady. Brady broke the news he didn't see children in their future. Nicole imagined them having a life of adventures instead. Brady insisted they focus on Vivian and went to check on her. Nicole walked outside and found Caroline returning with Sydney. She was thrilled to see the tyke.
Sami interrupted Arianna asking Rafe what she'd done to her brother. Arianna spat about Sami dragging Rafe from one mess to another. Sami swore she never intended to hurt Rafe. She loved him. Arianna told Sami she loved herself and didn't care who she destroyed. Rafe demanded Arianna apologize. She refused, telling Sami she knew she shot EJ. Rafe countered that Arianna had no proof. Arianna said she was leaving and going to the cops; a fight ensued. Rafe went after his sister. Will arrived. Sami revealed Arianna knew she shot EJ. Will freaked. Sami asked Will to go to the pub to check on Caroline and Sydney. Will vowed to find a way to protect Sami, while Sami vowed to stop Arianna.
Rafe begged Arianna to listen to him. "If you accuse Sami of shooting EJ, you're signing her death warrant," he warned. Arianna wanted justice. Rafe said if the DiMeras got hold of Sami first, that wouldn't happen. Finally, he admitted his sister was right. Sami did shoot EJ, but because she found out he was going to kidnap her children. Rafe begged Arianna not to turn Sami in. He loved her. Arianna insisted Sami had to answer for what she'd done.
Chad arrived at the DiMera mansion. EJ tried to shoo him away. Chad refused. He was there to talk to Stefano about a paid internship. Stefano said Kate didn't talk to him about it. "Or maybe you just didn't want to hear it," replied Chad, noting how Stefano shunned him at the hospital. Stefano apologized. EJ didn't like Chad's attitude. Stefano explained EJ was having a family problem and needed his help. He'd get back to Chad. Chad told Stefano not to bother and left. Stefano smiled, commenting how Chad reminded him of EJ. EJ wanted to talk about Arianna. Namely, that Arianna came to him and said she had information that could help him get his children back, but had disappeared. Stefano summoned Mitch, who he had tailing Arianna. Mitch reported she was at Rafe's loft. EJ assumed Rafe convinced Arianna not to talk. That's why she hadn't called him.
Brady and Victor convened at home. Brady asked about Victor's day. "Rather mundane. Read the paper, got a haircut, found Vivian locked in Isabella's coffin," he recounted. Brady asked if Victor let her out. "Not yet," said Victor, explaining that Vivian told him Nicole put her in there and coerced Brady into helping her. Brady explained he locked Vivian in the coffin, because he discovered her plan to entomb Maggie and learned she'd moved Isabella's remains to a pet cemetery. "Damn that evil bitch!" snapped Victor. Nicole interrupted. Brady told her Victor knew everything.
Wednesday
In the tomb, Vivian was still reeling from the fact that Victor didn't let her out when he had the chance. Meanwhile, at the Kiriakis manse, Brady informed Nicole that Victor knows that they are responsible for the Vivian situation. They fretted about what Vic might think about it, but he was pleased. "It's a genius idea!" he grinned. "You really are a chip off the old block!" Then he explained that he's not ready to let scheming Viv out just yet. Brady handed over the Bluetooth; Vic said he'd handle everything. Nicole was blown away and excited that Vic was actually nice to her. Brady wasn't so thrilled. He then had a vision of Isabella, who was upset by her son's shady behavior. He admitted that he's lost his way and hasn't really dealt with losing her and it's Viv's fault. Isabella pointed out that Brady's turned into her father and she's disappointed. Isabella disappeared when Nicole returned. Brady was distraught and regretful about what they'd done.
Sami was determined to find away to keep Arianna from telling EJ the truth. Bo paid her an unexpected visit to inquire about EJ, wondering why Sami didn't call the cops even when she knew EJ violated a court order to stay away from her and the kids. She admitted that she's still afraid of him; Bo vowed to do something about it.
At the DiMeras, EJ was eager to get in touch with Arianna. Stefano warned him that she could turn against him, pointing out that Rafe is still her brother, after all. EJ wasn't interested in his father's advice to go on the run and was determined to get Ari to provide him with proof that Sami shot him.
At the Pier, Rafe tried to reason with his sis about why Sami did what she did and why he's protecting her. Ari was outraged and refused to let Sami get away with it. She was convinced that EJ wouldn't put a hit out on Sami because he's too much of a family guy. Rafe told her that going to the cops wouldn't work, pointing out that he'd side with Sami if she did. She was heartbroken and stormed off in tears. After, Rafe told Sami what happened; she was concerned and didn't want Rafe lying for her anymore. So, she called Arianna and asked for her to come over and listen to Sami's story.
Cops arrived to arrest EJ and took him to the station, where Bo explained that he was brought in because he violated a restraining order. EJ was annoyed and explained that he meant no harm. He then stated that Sami is the real threat to their children. Bo was dubious; EJ continued to explain why Sami had the most reason to want him dead. Bo insisted that if EJ knows so much then he should prove that Sami shot him.
Back at the mausoleum, Victor needled Viv via the live video feed. "My dear, you've only just begun to pay," he sneered. Viv insisted she's a victim but he wasn't buying it and called her out for trying to kill Maggie. Viv admitted to painting the coffin with toxic fumes.
Rafe went to the Pub, where he informed a panic-stricken Will that Ari is going to the cops. They came up with a plan to deny whatever Ari says; Will was concerned that Rafe wouldn't be able to do it. Meanwhile, Ari arrived to talk to Sami, who recounted exactly what had happened and made a heartfelt case for why she did what she did. Ari was stunned but not sympathetic. She still thinks Sami's a murderer and manipulator. The women angrily faced off. Sami informed Ari that if she goes to the cops, Will and Rafe will be charged as accessories. Ari then presented the video proving that Sami shot EJ.
Thursday
Arianna showed Sami that she'd just taped her confession. Sami was, of course, stunned and outraged. She lunged at Ari and the women wrestled for control of the tape. At the police station, EJ lost his cool with Bo and the duo continued to trade barbs as EJ couldn't prove Sami shot him. With his bail paid, EJ departed but warned Bo that this isn't over ... yet.
In the mausoleum, Victor refused to free Vivian, adding how angry he is that she defied him regarding Maggie and railed at her for what she did to Isabella. "I am Victor Kiriakis and I don't mellow with age," he spat. Viv apologized, but Vic was determined to punish her for crossing him. Viv admitted she's terrified and feared she's already gone insane. Back at the manse, Isabella's ghost disappeared; Nicole asked Brady what's going on. Reflecting on what his mother had said, he declared that they need to free Viv stat. She advised him against it, adding that if Victor finds out he'll
be very upset. After seeing Vivian, Vic thanked Nicole for dealing with Brady and asked her for a favor regarding Maggie. Meanwhile, Brady saw Isabella again and apologized for what he's done, but told her that there's no turning back now.
Kayla was ready for her meeting with Sister Anne; Steph wasn't worried about Kayla's meeting with the nun and was certain that Chloe's baby is Daniel's because Mel wouldn't let the wedding happen if that wasn't the case. Steph then ran into Ian, who made her have doubts yet again. Meanwhile, Sister Anne was shocked when she saw Chloe and Daniel's wedding announcement.
Gabi interrupted Will and Rafe's discussion about Ari, who they were trying to track down. Ari didn't answer Rafe's call because she was in the middle of her fierce fight with Sami. Kayla arrived and broke up the fight. Later, a panicked Sami rushed to find Rafe and told him what happened and that Ari will take the tape to EJ.
Carly tried to apologize to Melanie, who was still burned about what happened and pointed out how many times she's been lied to. They tried to work through things, to no avail. Mel realized she won't ever really know her family. Carly got a call from an angry Sister Anne and had to rush off. After, an emotional Mel told Maggie that she considers Maggie more of a mom than Carly. At the hospital, Sister Anne showed Carly the wedding announcement and was miffed that she'd lied about Chloe's identity for the paternity test. Stunned Kayla watched their encounter, unnoticed.
Ari called EJ. "I have something you need to see," she told him, but he had a bad signal and couldn't hear. Meanwhile, Kayla informed Bo she saw Sami and Ari fighting, so he went to investigate. Later, Bo showed up to Rafe's and asked Sami what's going on and brought up the fight. He also saw the apartment had been trashed. Ari waited for EJ to meet her outside the Pub. Will showed up and begged her not to turn in his mom and demanded that she hear him out. EJ arrived; Ari was overwhelmed, rushed off and was hit by an oncoming car.
Friday
A rattled Will called Sami to say that Arianna was hit by a car after she fled from their confrontation. Sami freaked; distraught Rafe rushed to see his sis. Ari was taken to the hospital and wheeled into surgery to tend to her chest trauma. Lexie said things don't look good. Sami arrived to console a guilt-stricken Will, who was floored when Sami informed him that Ari had recorded the confession and was about to go to EJ. Meanwhile, Elvis was having a little chat with Bo, who was getting a statement about Ari's phone call to EJ before the accident. Sami was outraged when EJ tried to blame Will for what happened.
Gabi showed up at Rafe's behest and was shocked to hear about their sis. Lexie informed everyone that Ari is out of surgery and recovering but they need to be cautiously optimistic. EJ was eager to see her; Lexie restricted visits to immediate family only. EJ pointed out that if Ari doesn't make it, Sami and Will will be off the hook.
Sister Anne railed at Carly for creating a false identity for the paternity test and was determined to tell Daniel. Carly implored her not to, then briefly explained why it was so necessary to lie and said she doesn't want Chloe and Daniel to suffer for a mistake that she made. Anne refused to cover for Carly, pointing out that what she did is immoral. Kayla continued to watch their conversation ‹ this time from behind a nearby shrub. When Carly left, Kayla met with Anne, who was distracted and upset. She asked to reschedule their meeting. Kayla played dumb and agreed. Later, she mused to herself, "If the hospital tech didn't change the results, then Carly did. Stephanie was right; maybe Daniel isn't the father."
Melanie went visit Stephanie and Nathan, who was angry that his ex would show up after their last fight. She explained that she's not there to fight but to make sure that Nathan won't tell anybody the truth. He promised never to hurt her. Steph interrupted their charged moment; Mel rushed out. Afterward, Steph assured Nathan that everything is cool.
Back at the hospital, Rafe pleaded with Ari to get better. Walters told him that her condition isn't stable yet and she'll be in extreme pain when she does wake up. Bo asked Sami again about why she'd been fighting with Ari and Will about his own scuffle with her. They covered; Bo was dubious. After he left, they agreed to stick to their stories if and when Ari wakes up. Sami fretted about the missing tape, which was brought in to the hospital with Ari's purse. Sami spied it at the nurses station and was determined to get
her hands on it to secure her freedom. Will distracted the attending nurse while Sami made a grab for the purse but was caught red-handed; she covered. Later, Sami was hopeful that she could still retrieve the camera after an officer mentioned that Ari's belongings were scattered all over the street and she's not sure she even got everything. Sami left to check things out while Will stayed behind to watch the purse.
Bo ran into Carly and told her about Ari. He was trying to figure out how Sami and Will are involved and pointed out that he thinks they're covering for each other. Carly reminded him that sometimes you have to go outside the lines to protect family.
EJ sneaked into Arianna's room to talk to her. She opened her eyes and told him there's something she needs to say.
