DAYS Week of October 4, 2010
Monday
Sami told Rafe she knows who shot EJ and said she wants to tell him everything but hesitated because she fears losing him. He assured her that won't be the case. The moment was interrupted by Gabi and Arianna who showed up to celebrate Sami moving in. They saw a brochure from the Green Mountain Lodge and were stunned to hear that Rafe and Sami are planning to get married. Ari was none too pleased and was concerned about EJ's reaction. Rafe started bickering with Ari, who refused to apologize about feeling sorry for EJ. Rafe said they didn't intend on telling him until after the wedding, anyway.
EJ consulted Stefano about what to do regarding the shooting and whether to make Sami pay. Roman showed up to talk about the crime. EJ said he remembers everything, including the wedding, but claimed that his memory gets a little hazy after the ceremony. Roman surmised EJ could be fibbing so he pressured DiMera to recall his exact last memory but EJ's monitors went off. Lexie chided Roman for making EJ's blood pressure rise. Roman, in turn, suggested that EJ was controlling the monitors to avoid the interrogation and pointed out that EJ can't seem to remember anything involving Rafe at the wedding. Meanwhile, EJ vowed to make sure justice is served and laughed at Roman for thinking he'd actually get the truth. Later, EJ confirmed to Stefano that he can control the monitors and explained that he's buying himself some time to figure out what he wants to do. He vowed to take his kids away.
Brady and Nicole made out in the mausoleum, much to Vivian's chagrin. They rushed off to find a bed and left Viv to wallow in her entombed state. "It's getting more difficult to find my happy place," she quipped. Brady and Nicole had sex. Afterward, Nic was happy that he didn't skip out on her, joking that she thought it all was a hallucination. Brady was quiet so Nic asked him if he's happy with what just happened. He said he realized that he missed her and promised that's his only motive. Brady had a vision of Viv in bed next to him, taunting him. He woke up with a start and rushed out. Nic wondered if he was going to let Viv out and then snagged his cell phone. Meanwhile, Viv wondered if Nic had called the cops.
At the Pub, Justin and Adrienne caught up to discuss Victor and Viv's wacky wedding, where Viv might have gone and their own painful divorce, but agreed they don't have any regrets. Justin took a call; Adrienne was offended when he referred to as one of his clients.
Brady went back to the mausoleum to work through his feelings at his mom's grave. Nic tried to reach Viv on the Bluetooth. Vivian was confused why Brady would return and asked Nic to help her. Surprisingly, Nicole sided with Brady. "Oh, my God. He seduced you to buy your silence!" a stunned Viv realized. Meanwhile, Justin saw Brady at the pet cemetery and wondered what's going on.
EJ called Sami to play on her guilt. He asked after his kids. Sami pointed out how awkward it is maintain a charade. EJ could tell that she's cracking and said it won't be long before hell begins. Then Ari arrived.
After Sami left the house, Rafe told himself that Sami knows that Will shot EJ and surmised that's what she was hesitant to tell him. So, he vowed to figure out a way to protect the kid.
Tuesday
Ciara told Bo that she misses her mom and wondered when she's coming home. Meanwhile, at the prison, Warden Smith told Hope to keep out of trouble as she started her new job. Later, Lee told the Warden that everything will be just fine.
Kayla called St. Marys and made plans to meet up with Sister Ann discuss the paternity test. Stephanie was still trying to figure out who would switch it, saying that she's the only one who knows about Chloe and Daniel's one-night stand. Kayla told her daughter she looks desperate by sneaking around behind Nathan's back and advised her to back off lest she ruin her relationship for good. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Daniel called Nathan out on hiding something and demanded to know what it is. Nathan said he still has issues with Chloe and cited Lucas; Daniel bristled when Nathan hinted that Chloe isn't as timid and fragile as she acts. He wanted to know whyNathan has such a problem with Chloe — just as Steph arrived. She interrupted and Dan stormed off.
Chloe happily showed Melanie the spot where she and Daniel are going to get married. When father Matt arrived, he was surprised to hear about Chloe's wedding plans. After Mel excused herself, he lectured Chloe about not coming clean. She explained that the test proved Daniel is the father after all and thinks it's the best thing to do is to keep quiet lest two happy marriages get ruined. Father Matt disapproved but wished Chloe the best. Then he agreed to baptize her baby but continued to warn that she'll lose everything if the truth does eventually come out.
At the mausoleum, Justin asked Brady why he's acting so strange. Brady said he's on edge and just wants some alone time, explaining that the old coffin is still there because Vivian just left it for him to deal with. Justin offered to have it taken care of but Brady refused. Justin was still concerned about Brady's behavior. Then Nicole arrived and advised Brady to come clean, then covered for him by spinning a story that she was doing a piece about Isabella for Titan TV. Justin didn't buy it and called Nic insensitive. Meanwhile, in the sarcophagus, Vivian was fading fast. She begged Lawrence to save her and was happy to see Justin when she turned on the video feed.
Kayla came to visit Ciara and Bo at the Pub. Bo was happy to see her and asked her if she wants to stay with him and Carly. She scoffed and pointed out that she doesn't approve of Carly's lies. Later, Justin told Bo he needs to discuss Hope. Meanwhile, Kayla visited Hope in the clink. Kayla assured Hope that she has her full support. Hope then said she's going to give Bo his freedom because she knows that's what he wants. Kayla was floored and said Bo and Hope belong together. Back at the Pub, Justin presented Bo with divorce papers.
Nicole agreed to keep Brady's secret about Viv, who was miffed. Brady expressed his growing guilt over what he's doing but Nic told him she won't let him change his mind now because he'll go to jail. Brady then admitted to manipulating her when they had sex and said he's changed and won't be played by her if she tries anything. They agreed to join forces, shared a kiss and departed. Viv, meanwhile, vowed revenge once again.
Daniel saw an emotional Chloe, who reported that Father Matt is going to baptize their child. Daniel was concerned about why she had been crying and assured her that their future was bright.
Back at the hospital, Nate was hesitant to tell Steph what's bothering him, but noted that she's the only person he can trust. Then he revealed that he knows Chloe cheated on Daniel but doesn't know with whom. Mel entered just in time to hear what Nate said.
Wednesday
Maggie dropped in on Victor to chide him about using Philip and Melanie just to get close to her. Victor was amused that he ruffled her feathers so much
by offering to let Phil and Mel live at the manse so he could see Maggie
more.
Melanie was overcome with emotion and conflicted about what to do after
overhearing Nathan say that Chloe cheated on Daniel. She called her dad and
told him they need to talk. He was busy at the moment but she tearfully
pleaded with him to talk to her before the wedding. Chloe asked Dan what's
going on; he was worried about how distressed Mel sounded. Chloe then got a
call from her dad who said he can't come to the wedding. She was bummed.
Meanwhile, Stephanie asked Nate why he's so obsessed over what he learned,
surmising that it's because he's worried about Mel's feelings. He explained
his case, pointing out that he works with Mel and is compassionate but it
has nothing to do with Steph; she wasn't buying it and admitted that she has
a secret, too, saying that she's not over his past with Mel. He told her
that she's being ridiculous.
Brady and Nicole woke up in bed together. Nic told him that they won't be
going back to prison and told him not to ruin things for them. She worried
about people getting suspicious but he assured her that no one is missing
Viv. She was suddenly concerned about Viv's well-being. "God, it's like
having a puppy," she exclaimed as she wondered if Viv would have enough
water until after the wedding.
In the mausoleum, Viv was thrilled that she could hear her trusty pal Gus
through the receiver but wondered why she can't see him. Meanwhile, in his
room, Gus got frisky with a lady as loud electronic music played. The
receiver was in his duffel bag under the bed. When Gus's lady friend saw his
shrine to Viv whom he lovingly called his "Madame," she was confused about
his devotion to her. Viv, overhearing all, screamed for Gus to help her.
Brady later showed up at the Kiriakis manse to taunt Viv some more via
Bluetooth and was talking to her when Victor walked in. He fibbed about why
he's there and then asked his gramps if he can move into Viv's old room ‹
with Nicole. Victor was aghast. "What has she done to you?" he asked.
Maggie came home and saw a depressed Mel, who beat around the bush about
what's eating her. Maggie thought Mel was sad about moving out and told her
she can still change her mind. Mel tried to explain that she found out
something awful about one of her "patients" cheating on their husband and
sought Maggie's advice about telling the truth. Maggie advised her not to
get involved.
Chloe was in a state of pre-wedding bliss when Nic showed up at her doorstep
unannounced bearing a peace offering: a gift for the baby. Nic begged for a
do-over for what happened at the shower and asked to her friend to take her
back. Chloe needed to know that Nic would keep quiet about the secret. She
promised to; Chloe let her back into the wedding party and her life. Nic was
thrown that Chloe had made Mel the matron of honor.
Steph was upset to hear that Sister Ann had to reschedule her meeting with
Kayla and told her mom that Nathan knows. Kayla warned that he might not be
the only one who knows. Meanwhile, Mel showed up to talk to Nathan, who was
still dripping wet from the shower. She was frantic and called him a liar,
saying he's going to fix what he's done to her and her father.
Back at Gus's, he heard Viv faintly calling out for him and was shocked....
Daniel arrived at Maggie's looking for Mel and they discussed how upset she
was earlier.
Thursday
At the Pub, Kayla confronted Stephanie about trapping him into a
relationship and ridiculed her for the birth control snafu, reminding her
daughter that she's better than that. Steph was regretful for playing such a
stupid game; Kayla was annoyed and made her daughter promise that she'll be
okay. Later, Steph ran into her and Adrienne and was miffed that she'd
spilled the beans to Kayla about the birth control. Adrienne explained that
she did it out of love; Steph declared that their friendship is over.
Nicole and Chloe made up and parted ways before the ceremony. Chloe was
hopeful that nothing would go wrong on her big day. Meanwhile, Daniel was
still on the hunt for Melanie and shared a moment with Philip, who told him
that if Chloe ever lost him, it'd be like losing her soul. Phil was happy
for Dan. Later, Phil stopped by to visit Chloe. They cleared the air about
what happened and agreed to keep the past buried forever. Phil felt bad for
what he did, especially to Daniel. Chloe was confident that everything would
be fine. They talked about being friends and laughed about being family
after the wedding. Then they hugged.
Nathan confirmed to Melanie that what she heard him say about Chloe cheating
is accurate and explained that Chloe tried to chase him down after he found
out. Nate explained that he tried to walk away from it; Mel was outraged
that he kept Chloe's lie even when he knew it was hurting Daniel. She
refused to accept his apology; he admitted that she still means something to
him. Mel continued to rail against him for believing Chloe's claim that the
baby is Daniel's. Mel left and was determined to find out the truth before
the wedding and blamed Nate for making matters worse. She said their
friendship is over and was upset that he's not the man she thought he was.
Then Steph arrived. Mel called her a bitch and Nate spineless before
storming out. Steph tried to console guilt-ridden Nate.
Gus finally located the receiver; Vivian was elated. "My savior!" she
exclaimed and quickly explained what had happened to her. She begged him to
get her out of the sarcophagus, but he pointed out that it's kind of what
she deserves after what she planned to do to Maggie. Viv tried to explain
herself, but Gus refused to save her. "You made your bed now lie in it," he
said.
At the Kiriakis manse, Victor tried to talk Brady out of hooking up with
Nicole, to no avail. Daniel arrived to get ready for the wedding. Nic also
showed up, much to Victor's dismay who made a crack about hiding the silver
before he scurried off. Daniel was surprised to hear that Brady and Nicole
are together and expressed his concern to Brady, who assured him that he has
everything under control. He claimed that he needs Nic for "an important
project". After, Brady promised Nic that Victor wouldn't interfere with
their plan or kick her out. They went to Viv's room and declared it their
own.
At the park, Victor saw Maggie at the wedding site. Victor said he knows
that Brady is drinking, is back with Nicole and is spiraling out of control
and he wants Maggie's help in handling the situation. They tried to figure
out why Brady would do something so reckless and agreed to step in if
necessary. Victor was glad to have Maggie's support.
Kayla saw Philip and hinted that she knows who he really is and it's only a
matter of time before everyone else does too. At the hospital, Daniel
realized he forgot the wedding license and has to go back to the apartment
before the wedding. Meanwhile, Chloe was getting ready for her big day when
there was a knock at the door. It was Melanie, who swiftly served Chloe with
a slap in the face.
Friday
Chloe was stunned when Melanie showed up at her apartment and slapped her. "You cheated on Daniel," Mel declared. Chloe tried to deny it at first, but Melanie told her to shut up because she knew the truth. Chloe noted that Melanie had no proof and would only be hurting Daniel if she told him what she thought she knew. Switching tactics, Melanie asked why Father Matt wouldn't marry Chloe and Daniel. Chloe claimed he had another commitment, but Melanie didn't buy it. She suspected he knew the truth and decided to call the rectory to check. Chloe implored her not to. Melanie realized that amounted to a confession from Chloe and was even more upset. Chloe broke down and recounted how Vivian paid off the hospital worker and motel clerk to make her think Daniel and Carly were having an affair and Chloe slept with someone once as a result. Melanie asked who it was, but Chloe refused to name him. Mel said she was going to tell Daniel. She then asked if Chloe was sure the baby was Daniel's. Chloe revealed she had paternity tests done. Mel wanted to see the results, but Chloe insisted she didn't have them. Melanie didn't believe her, so Chloe blurted out that someone else knew about the switch — Carly.
Sami called Rafe, trying to track him down. Will could tell she was rattled. They discussed the repercussions of the shooting.... Stefano visited EJ, who was reading a book. EJ revealed that he planned to use Arianna to figure out if Sami or Will shot him. Ari arrived. Stefano excused himself. EJ told Arianna that she was the only one who could trust and revealed he suspected either Sami or Will pulled the trigger. He asked her to poke around.
At the mansion, Kate and Lexie went over the renovations Stefano wants to accommodate EJ's eventual return home. Lexie admitted that as much as Stefano loved her, nobody could ever replace EJ in his heart. After, Lexie visited Sami and implored her to keep up the charade with EJ that they were still together. Sami reluctantly agreed, but noted that EJ wasn't stupid and would catch on that she was really in love with Rafe. Sami went to the hospital to visit EJ, who apologized for being cruel to her in the past. He turned the screws by adding that nothing she could ever do or say to him would make him stop loving her. Gulp, thought Sami, who hurried out to see the kids. After she did, EJ dropped the phony smile from his face and remarked that she should enjoy the children while she could.
Arianna went to Sami's, but only Will was home. She claimed she was there to apologize to Sami. They discussed EJ. Arianna could tell Will hated him, so she started questioning the teen about the shooting. Sami came home and caught the end of Ari's interrogation. She demanded to know why Arianna was grilling Will. Ari insisted she was just making conversation.
Chad visited the DiMera mansion and told Kate that he wanted the job Kate offered. She said she would let him know.
Dr. Ben Walters stopped Daniel at the hospital, but he was rushing out to get the marriage license for the wedding. Ben told Daniel about EJ's blood pressure problems, then wished him well on his wedding. Carly joined them and asked to talk to Daniel before the nups. They headed to the pier. He admitted he was distracted that he hadn't heard from Melanie, who said she really needed to talk to him. Carly assured him everything was okay, then gave him a wedding gift. He was touched. They had a good heart to heart and talked about how all the bad times were behind them.
