Monday

Nicole peered into the pub to make sure Trent wasn't inside. Philip arrived and suggested they go in for a drink. Nicole said she wasn't looking to hang out with anyone, since her world was coming to an end. Philip suggested they drown their sorrows together. Inside, Philip shared the latest on him and Morgan: his new girlfriend was willing to give him another chance, despite the fact he'd threatened to kill her father. Philip insisted the threat was never real. Nicole understood. People threatened to kill people all the time, at least in her world. She noted that she wanted to kill Sami. Philip knew Nicole had been saying that for years. Nicole cracked that if Sami had "the good sense to die," she could stop saying that. Nicole told Philip all about seeing Sami and EJ going at in on the hospital stairwell. Then, she revealed she had a fantasy about Sami, EJ and company. Philip was intrigued.

Cue the black and white film noir flashbacks! Once again, EJ was romping with Sami, until Nicole returned home and he pushed the tart into the closet to hide. Later, Nicole figured out her husband was cheating on her, while carpet sweeping and discovering an earring. Nicole paid a visit to private eye Lucas' office and hired him to investigate. Across town, Philip discovered a frumpy Chloe in glasses sitting at his club, removed her spectacles and viola! A singing star was born. Back at the PI office, Lucas solved the case of the cheating husband easily enough: the earring Nicole brought him belonged to his wife, Sami!

Nicole continued recounting details of her fantasy. Chloe told her ex boss, Lucas, about her singing job at the club, but noted her heart belonged to him. Philip couldn't believe Chloe chose Lucas over him, even in Nicole's fantasy. Philip ordered another round of drinks and asked Nicole if Lucas ever confronted Sami about her cheating. Nicole continued her tale, noting Sami swore to Lucas that EJ was her first affair. Sami announced she was running off with EJ and left. Meanwhile, EJ told Nicole he was going away on business. "Monkey business?" asked Nicole, who swore no one could just up and leave her. Soon, Sami arrived to meet EJ. Nicole wrapped a scarf around her neck and strangled her. Later, Lucas showed up and asked what Nicole meant when she phoned and said she'd taken care of things. Nicole showed Lucas Sami's body. Lucas said he wasn't taking the rap for this and wouldn't help Nicole hide the body. Then, he pulled out a gun.

Philip asked if Lucas shot Nicole. She said no, he was too much of a gentleman. Lucas went back to his office where he found Chloe, who admitted she'd quit her job at the club because Lucas was the only man for her. Lucas was thrilled. Back at their apartment, Nicole confessed to EJ that she killed Sami. EJ called Nicole crazy. Nicole threatened to kill EJ and herself if he didn't come back to her. EJ decided to stay with Nicole. No one ever loved him enough to kill for him. EJ said they had to go on the lam, before the cops found out what Nicole had done. While they were packing, Abe and Roman arrived and arrested Nicole for Sami's murder, noting she'd get the electric chair. EJ didn't offer to help.

"The end," announced Nicole. Philip thanked Nicole for sharing her fantasy and left. Alone, Nicole muttered about the possibility of EJ coming to his senses. Then, maybe, she'd have a happy ending. One cue, EJ showed up, stormed over to Nicole's table, and announced, "I know what you did to Samantha."

Tuesday

Stefano made a drink for Anna and invited her to get comfy. He showed her a photo album of Anthony. (Tony was a cricket player, it turns out.) Stefano ranted about how Tony had betrayed the family and would pay for it. Anna told Stefano that she wasn't going to fall for Stefano's threats against Tony. Stefano remarked he would soon have a new heir. Anna took her leave.

At the Brady Pub, Lexie and Theo ran into one of Theo's little friends, Sawyer, and his mom. The child asked why Theo never speaks to him. Lexie explained to Sawyer's mom that Theo had been diagnosed with autism and they were searching for the right school for the boy. The mom told Lexie that another child, Matthew Benson, had also been diagnosed with autism.

Also at the pub, EJ ordered Nicole to stay out of Sami's affairs. Nicole denied having called the police but EJ told her not to bother. Nic told EJ to stop trying to save Sami from herself, arguing that Sami would benefit from having to pay for her mistakes. EJ agreed that Sami was out of control. Nicole stalked off. EJ walked across the restaurant to say hello to Lexie and Theo. Lexie tried to cover her Theo-related anxiety in front of EJ, but he saw through her. A frustrated Lexie asked EJ if he could help her reduce Theo's obsessions. "Whining won't make things better," she ultimately concluded. They chatted about Stefano; Lexie said she needed to stop by to see their father. As Theo's fixation on a spoon continued, Lexie told EJ that she'd been called before the hospital board for a performance review. EJ assured her that she'd be fine. Lexie's impatience with Theo continued to intensify, a fact that did not escape EJ, who urged Lexie to just give Theo the spoon already. EJ filled in Lexie about the latest Sami drama. Lexie worried about EJ's involvement with Sami... Daniel, meanwhile, sidled up to Nicole at the bar. Nicole told Daniel that Pookie was her only friend. He wanted to know why, if that was the case, she was choosing to stay in Salem. She explained that she was sticking around for a guy, although it wasn't working out so well. Daniel told Nicole about Theo's autism. Nicole's stomach was bugging her; he suggested she go to the hospital if it persisted. Daniel told Nicole that he was in Salem because of a love interest, as well, one that he cared for deeply. "So what's the problem?" she queried. As Daniel explained that the girl had left for Paris, Nicole deduced that he was referring to Chelsea. Nicole wished him luck.... EJ opened up to Lexie about Nicole. Lexie told him that she'd encouraged Nicole to go for it with EJ.... Daniel figured out that Nicole was into EJ, who was still across the room.... Lexie was encouraged when she saw how easily EJ and Theo got along but felt bad when she saw how well Sawyer and his mom related.

At the police station, Roman railed at Sami for breaking into the Horton cabin. Sami defended herself, saying she had to check on her daughter. Roman reminded Sami that she needed to follow court orders. Marlena arrived and warned Sami that if she didn't comply with the judge's ruling, she could lose custody to Lucas altogether. Sami claimed that her baby was being improperly cared for by Lucas and Chloe when she arrived on the island. Marlena scoffed that Sami sounded like a spoiled brat and that the baby needed both of her parents in her life. In the hallway, Roman privately told Marlena that she had been a little rough on Sami, but Marlena disagreed, calling Sami a spoiled manipulator. "I will no longer enable her," Marlena declared, suggesting that Roman follow her lead. Roman went back into his office and informed Sami that the judge had decided to extend Lucas's custody rights. Sami was not pleased with Roman's tough-love approach and when he left, she immediately made a call to the DiMera mansion. The message she left for John ended up in Stefano's hands. Stefano came to see a surprised Sami. She told him to go to hell.

Hope came to see Kayla at the hospital and invited her out to the Blue Note.
Kayla declined but Hope insisted, noting that she'd arranged for a baby-sitter. Kayla agreed. Hope told Kayla how angry Bo was about Stefano not being charged for his role in the hospital lockdown. "Steve's angry, too," sighed Kayla. Both women were worried that their hubbies would take matters into their own hands. Hope promised Kayla that she'd keep a close eye on the situation. Marlena approached the ladies and they invited her out with them. She said yes. Hope told Marlena that they were working around the clock to link Stefano to her poisoning but wanted to know why Stefano was targeting her. Marlena told Hope it was because Stefano was paying her back for what she did to him. Kayla admitted to Hope that she knew the reason, as well. "I was responsible for his coma," Marlena confessed. She described how she had injected Stefano with the same untraceable toxins with which he had once injected her.

Wednesday

An annoyed John arrived for Stefano's cocktail party. EJ wondered if John wasn't "a little bit curious" to know what Stefano was up to. Sami arrived, noting she was on the guest list and that she'd been leaving messages for John. Stefano walked in, admitting he'd intercepted them. Sami told John and EJ that Stefano tried to help her at the police station, but she declined. John asked Stefano to stay away from his stepdaughter. EJ told Sami he was thankful she didn't accept Stefano's help. Sami countered that it was because EJ didn't think she deserved help. EJ called Sami childish and self-destructive. Anna asked what this party was all about. Tony suspected it was Stefano's attempt to get them back on his side. Stefano admitted he was not the reason their family had been torn apart. It was because of someone more ruthless than him; someone they would least suspect. Meanwhile, John warned Sami to stay away form Stefano. He couldn't be trusted. Soon, Marlena arrived and Stefano announced she was the guest of honor. Tony, Anna, EJ and Sami threatened to go. Stefano forbade it until everyone learned why Marlena was there.

Stefano accused Marlena of having a heart blacker than his and said it was time both their families knew what she was capable of. Marlena walked out. John stopped her. Marlena didn't want to be denigrated in front of everyone about deliberately putting Stefano in a coma. John supported her, noting Stefano did a terrible thing — he took the man she loved away from her. She'd never get that John back, because of Stefano. John vowed to kill Stefano if he ever hurt Marlena again, and said he could see why the man he used to be was so in love with her. Marlena returned the party and admitted Stefano's accusation was true. She'd injected him with a toxin that put him in a coma. She had to stop him from hurting anyone else. Sami stood by her mother. Stefano asked Tony and EJ their thoughts. EJ insisted nothing had changed. Tony concurred. Stefano was outraged and vowed revenge. John put Stefano on notice. He instructed his brother to stay away from Marlena and not breathe a word to anyone about what she'd done. Stefano refused. "You thought this was war before? Brace yourself," threatened John as he left. Stefano just laughed. On his way out, John told Marlena he was proud of her for standing up to Stefano. Marlena feared Stefano was determined to get even. John urged her not to worry; he'd protect her from his evil brother.

Lexie read her invitation to Stefano's party, as Abe arrived home. They discussed Theo, and Abe sensed something was amiss. Lexie said she'd run into Sawyer, a friend of Theo's, and his mother at the pub. The little boy said hi to Theo, but he didn't react. Lexie just wished her son could be normal. Abe consoled Lexie, as they discussed the medical progress being made with autism. Theo just needed to continue his therapy. Abe brought up all the stress Lexie was under and wondered if the hospital blamed her for the recent lockdown there. He noted that Stefano orchestrated it and that he felt like driving over to the mansion and tearing him apart. Lexie noted they did have an invitation to Stefano's party. Abe thought they should attend to find out what he was up to. Lexie said she couldn't care less what Stefano is up to. She wanted nothing more to do with him. Later, Abe and Lexie enjoyed some alone time and admitted how lucky they were to have each other. The phone rang and it was the hospital board's secretary confirming Lexie's meeting with them. Abe wondered if Lexie was worried about losing her job. Lexie hoped that wasn't the case. Abe assured her that no matter what happened, he was more than capable of taking care of their family.

Thursday

At the pub, Nicole told Philip she'd met the man of her dreams but wasn't sure how he felt. In walked EJ, so Philip made himself scarce. EJ commented on Nicole's drink. Nicole said it was just orange juice; she had "a bug." EJ filled Nicole in on the latest at Chez DiMera — namely, Stefano's cocktail party and Marlena standing up for herself. He mentioned Trent and asked why Nicole didn't take her divorce settlement and head to Tahiti. Nicole said she'd want someone to share the island with. EJ assumed it was him. When Nicole toyed with him, EJ admitted he'd "be devastated" if she were seeing someone else. The pair decided to explore their feelings with a proper date. EJ proposed drinks, a leisurely dinner and a romantic moonlit stroll. A teary-eyed Nicole was touched. Then she thought about Sami, noting she wanted her out of the picture. EJ said Sami would always be a part of his life, because of Johnny. Nicole swore she wouldn't have a problem sharing EJ with Johnny, but she didn't want to share him with Sami.

Philip approached Kate, who was talking on the phone in between coughs. Kate swore she was fine. Philip didn't buy it and insisted on taking her to the hospital. Meanwhile, Daniel arrived there, having been called in for a meeting. Lexie knew it was to testify at her board hearing and feared the worst. She'd fallen behind on some of her duties. Julie arrived and told Lexie she and Mickey were on her side. Daniel assured Victor was, too. Soon, Victor and Eleanor, the chairman of the board arrived. Philip brought Kate to the hospital. Daniel happened by and wanted to examine her. Kate said she'd be more comfortable with another doctor and went to make an appointment. Daniel told Philip this couldn't wait. When Kate returned, Philip informed her she needed to be X-rayed today! Daniel asked Kate about her cough and other symptoms and had a nurse check her vitals. Daniel assured Philip they'd find out what the problem was, as he headed off to Lexie's hearing. Alone, Kate told Philip she wanted to leave. Philip insisted on taking care of his mother. Suddenly, Kate started coughing up blood. Philip went running for help.

At the board hearing, Eleanor noted Lexie had been delinquent in her job. She never arranged a fund-raiser this year. Eleanor said Lexie was unqualified. Daniel walked in and disagreed, praising Lexie's work. Eleanor asked about Theo's autism. Daniel said Lexie's personal life didn't interfere with her job. Lexie said her son's situation might have affected her work but not her commitment. Eleanor asked Lexie and Daniel to leave so the board could vote on Lexie's fate.

Abe told Roman about Lexie's board hearing. Roman noted Stefano should be held responsible for the lockdown. Abe vowed to do whatever it took to bring down Stefano. Soon, Roman got a call from the mayor, who was on his way to discuss something important. The mayor arrived and announced they had a serious problem: the cops' response during the crisis at the hospital. He had watchdog groups wanting someone to answer for this. Abe said he knew the mayor was looking for a scapegoat and insisted he'd done things by the book. Abe noted Stefano was responsible for the lockdown, the same man the mayor let walk. The mayor pointed out Stefano was comatose during the lockdown. Hence, he couldn't have orchestrated what happened. Abe asked how much money Stefano was bribing the mayor with. The mayor fumed and threatened to fire Abe. Abe countered by saying he quit and stormed off!

Friday

Trent summoned Nicole and her checkbook to the pub, threatening to reveal their marriage to Victor. Max and Stephanie arrived, having just returned from France. Steph spied Trent inside and tried to get Max to leave. Max spotted Trent, charged in and decked him, while Steph called Steve for help. Trent demanded to know what Max's attack was about. Max explained it was about Claude, the guy Trent pimped out his own daughter to. Melanie showed up and slapped Trent. She and Max laced into him. Melanie asked why Trent didn't tell her about her brother. Trent tried to drag Melanie away. Max snapped. He grabbed a beer bottle, smashed it, and held it to Trent's throat. Steve, Kayla and Caroline raced in. Caroline got Max to back off, noting his Pop would not approve of his behavior.

Bo and Hope confronted Nicole, a.k.a. Misty Circle, a.k.a. Mrs. Trent Robbins. Nicole played dumb until Bo threatened to take her down to the station. Finally, Nicole ‘fessed up about her history with Trent. Things were fine at first. Then, he started to gamble, drink and became abusive. One day Nicole left, assuming he'd filed for a divorce, but Trent hadn't. Bo said they had to tell Victor, but first he raced into the pub to see what was going on. Trent said he wanted to press charges against Max. Steph scolded Melanie for egging Max on. Bo told Max he could be in big trouble and urged him to apologize to Trent. Max refused. Melanie told Trent she wanted to kill him.

Philip got a nurse to tend to Kate, then phoned Lucas. Soon, Lucas arrived at the hospital and Philip filled him in on what was happening with their mother. Lucas and Philip went in to see Kate, insisting they were staying until she was X-rayed. Philip got a call and walked off. Alone with Lucas, Kate took a moment to bash Chloe. Maxine arrived with a wheelchair to cart Kate off for X-rays. Lucas and Philip chatted about Chloe, Sami and Lucas' joint custody of Allie. Lucas said he needed a job to look responsible. Philip offered him one at Titan. Lucas accepted. When Maxine returned with Kate, Philip pulled out his computer and said it was time for a family meeting. It was Billie and Austin checking in on Kate from cyberspace.

At the board meeting, Daniel extolled Lexie's work as chief of staff. Then, he and Lexie left so the board could vote on Lexie's fate. Daniel told Lexie they'd be fools to can her. Lexie admitted letting her personal life interfere with work. However, if she'd known about Theo's condition, she might not have accepted the job. Theo needed a full-time mom. "Then you know what you have to do," advised Daniel. Mickey fetched Lexie, and Eleanor prepared to deliver the verdict. Lexie interrupted and resigned. She'd continue her practice, but with a flexible schedule. Eleanor suggested Lexie reconsider, since the board had voted to keep her. Lexie wouldn't and left. Victor approached Daniel and scolded him for bedding Kate. Then, he told Daniel his relationship with Chelsea was over. Daniel insisted he wasn't giving up on Chelsea. The nurse arrived and gave Daniel Kate's X-rays. Victor raced to her side. Kate was surprised to see Victor. Daniel was more stunned by the results of Kate's X-rays.

Abe returned home and paid the sitter watching Theo. Then, he read Theo's latest therapy evaluation. Lexie arrived and Abe asked about the board meeting. She was silent. Abe played with Theo, asking him to match the pieces of his puzzle. Theo did! Lexie was thrilled. She read Theo's evaluation and smiled. Lexie told Abe she resigned from the board. Abe noted he'd resigned from the police force. Lexie was stunned and worried, citing the cost of Theo's therapy, their mortgage, etc.... Abe said not to worry. He'd get another job. He just couldn't work for a system he didn't believe in and had been corrupted by Stefano. Lexie begged Abe not to go after Stefano. Theo interrupted, saying, "Choo choo." Abe and Lexie saw he'd finished his train puzzle and were so proud.
