Monday
EJ was stunned when he answered Nicole's cell phone, and Brady revealed "the secret is out." EJ demanded to know what Brady meant. Brady insisted EJ put Nicole on the line as it went dead. Nicole walked in anxious to head out to dinner. EJ dropped the bomb about Brady's call and wanted to know what secret he was talking about. Nicole feigned ignorance. EJ suggested they call Brady back. Nicole hemmed and hawed; then, concocted a story: The "secret" was Brady was doing cocaine again. "You are lying to me," yelled EJ. Nicole refused to phone Brady, pooh-poohing EJ's suspicions. EJ announced they were leaving Paris and heading home to confront Brady together. On the plane, Nicole said she would tell EJ everything.
Chloe accepted Daniel's marriage proposal, and they kissed. Daniel said he wanted to share their news with someone who was like a father to him: Victor. After all, Victor bailed him out of jail and got him an attorney. "I owe him a lot," said Daniel. Chloe concurred and said she wanted to share their news with someone important to her. Chloe met with Father Matt and explained how her marriage to Lucas wasn't real or based on love. Hence, she wanted an annulment, since Daniel had proposed. Daniel met with Victor and explained he'd been reinstated at the hospital and was staying in town. Victor was thrilled. Then, Daniel revealed that he and Chloe were engaged. "You can't be serious," said Victor, noting how she ruined Philip, Brady and Lucas's lives. Daniel went on about how much he loved Chloe. Victor wasn't swayed. "I'd rather die than see you marry that whore," he spat.
Chad phoned Mia to ask about Lucas, then, told her he still didn't believe she was ever on drugs or in rehab. Mia didn't care what Chad believed and told him to stay away from her. Will interrupted to lament about his crazy parents. That's why he respected what Mia did: giving her baby away to two parents who could really love her. Mia agreed, noting they were "good people." Will wondered how she knew, since it was a closed adoption. Mia covered, noting the information was in a report from the adoption agency. Mia's phone rang and it was Brady. He needed to see her, pronto. Mia got rid of Will. Brady arrived and revealed he wasn't certain EJ and Nicole could give Sydney a happy life anymore. He warned that EJ might be closing in on learning Sydney was adopted. Mia freaked. Brady said he'd get back to Mia once he knew something definite. Mia phoned Will, revealing something awful might be happening and it had to do with her baby. Chad, who was outside eavesdropping, walked in and confronted Mia about having a baby, his baby.
Arianna confronted Sami about doing something to Rafe, noting she hadn't heard from him in days. Sami revealed she hadn't talked to Rafe either and said they were broken up. "Still?" asked Arianna, insisting Rafe was "crazy in love" with Sami. Arianna realized something was terribly wrong. Sami suggested calling Roman. Arianna pulled a 180. She suggested Rafe was off clearing his head, which was a good thing, since Sami didn't deserve him. Sami swore she loved Rafe. Arianna apologized and promised to let Sami know when she heard from him. Will arrived. Sami wanted to talk about Mia and her drug abuse. Will revealed none of it was true. It was Mia's coverup story. She'd actually had a baby and given it up. He made Sami promise not to tell a soul, and she agreed. Will left to see Mia, after getting her SOS call. Sami left Rafe another message to call her.
"What the hell are you doing?" asked a woozy Rafe. Meredith told him what she should have done years ago, when he killed her sister. Rafe said he didn't kill Emily. He loved her. Meredith pointed out how quickly he replaced her with Sami. Rafe pointed out how long it took him to fall in love again, but swore he hadn't forgotten Emily. Rafe wondered what Meredith was going to do with him and said she wouldn't get away with it. "I don't want to," retorted Meredith, noting how she'd lost her job and couldn't be happy without her sister. She didn't care if she got arrested or died, as long as Rafe died first. Rafe told Meredith she could walk away from this. He wouldn't report a thing. She wasn't interested.
Tuesday
Rafe dreamt he was at Sami's apartment ready to tell her about Sydney, but she slammed the door in his face. As he slowly regained consciousness, Meredith stood over him. She taunted Rafe about being suspended from the FBI; then, showed him a picture of Grace and said they'd never be reunited, since murderers went to hell. Meredith took Rafe's phone and was furious when she figured out he'd changed the password from Emily to Sami. She took Rafe's wallet and found Emily and Grace's memorial cards. She told Rafe he wouldn't have one, since no one would find his body. Meredith typed a text into Rafe's phone and muttered how he wouldn't be in this predicament if Stefano hadn't brought her to town. Meredith left to get some supplies. Rafe dreamt about chasing after Sami and telling her Sydney was her baby.
Sami and Arianna decided to work together to find Rafe. Sami couldn't believe Rafe would just disappear. Arianna revealed he'd done it before. She and Rafe hadn't had anything to do with each other for a long time. Arianna explained she'd made a terrible mistake, Rafe stepped in and helped, and took a big hit. She noted how Rafe did something dangerous recently: keeping the secret about Grace from EJ. "You think EJ is behind Rafe's disappearance?" asked Sami. Arianna said if Rafe was there, he'd question EJ and Nicole. Sami wondered what Rafe told her about Nicole. Arianna remembered Rafe telling her about Nicole's miscarriage. Suddenly, Sami got an email from Rafe, noting he had to work things out alone and she shouldn't contact him. Then, Arianna got a text, noting Rafe was out of town and needed time alone. Arianna was suspicious. She reassured Sami that Rafe loved her and would be back. Alone, Sami fretted about messing up Rafe's life. Meanwhile, Arianna bumped into Meredith.
Chad told Mia he never would have let her go through her pregnancy alone, if he'd known about it. Mia noted how they were both in high school and couldn't have given their daughter the life she deserved. Chad asked what happened to his daughter. Mia explained she gave her up for adoption and knew she was in a good home. Chad couldn't imagine Mia giving her kid to a stranger. He wanted to see the adoption papers. Mia swore it was too late to do anything and refused to give Chad the agency's name. Chad grabbed her computer to find the information himself. Will interrupted, and the guys started fighting. Will asked what was going on. Chad said he wanted to read Mia's diary. "You told him?" asked Will. Chad said he figured it out and left to find his kid. Will reassured Mia there was no way Chad could undo the adoption and went to call Mickey. Mia took off. She found Chad and apologized to him. She swore she loved their baby, that's why she gave her away. "You need to let her have her life, and maybe we can have ours again," urged Mia. "You want to get back together again?" asked Chad.
Nicole told EJ she was going to tell him the truth; then, starting double-talking about how if she and Brady had a secret, EJ would know. She insisted EJ and Sydney were her life and she'd never to anything to hurt them. EJ knew Nicole was playing him. Sydney started crying. Nicole went to tend to her, realizing she was in pain. EJ wondered what was wrong and worried Sydney might need a doctor. Nicole reassured him, vowing she would protect their daughter. She promised to call Sydney's doctor as soon as they landed. Later, Nicole asked where she and EJ went from here. EJ said that depended on what Brady had to say.
Victor warned Daniel that loving Chloe would be his downfall, as Chloe listened. "I'd rather die than see you marry that whore," snapped Victor. Daniel fumed, warning Victor never to talk about Chloe like that. He threatened to leave unless Victor respected Chloe and welcomed her into the family. Chloe burst in and told Daniel not to go. She wasn't worth it. She had a terrible track record. Daniel said they all made mistakes and turned to leave. Victor stopped him, promising to accept whatever Daniel decided. Chloe and Daniel thanked him. Later, Daniel and Chloe discussed Victor, getting married, and kissed. At home Victor drank. Henderson commended him on being so gracious to Chloe. "Not that the cheap slut deserved it," responded Victor.
Wednesday
Nicole and EJ to the DiMera mansion. Nicole entered and discovered Kate. "I live here now," she cooed. Stefano revealed Kate was his new wife. EJ congratulated his stepmother and father. Nicole couldn't believe EJ kept this from her. Kate showed Stefano a dessert she had the cook whip up for him. Stefano mentioned his diabetes. Kate swore she totally forgot about that. Nicole argued with EJ over their spoiled honeymoon. She went off about how EJ didn't trust her, Stefano married a woman she despised, and how she didn't feel Sydney was safe at home. "We're moving out," she announced. EJ forbade Nicole and Sydney from going anywhere. EJ took Kate to see Sydney, while Nicole asked Stefano why he married Kate. Stefano swore they were soul mates. He asked why EJ and Nicole's honeymoon lasted a day. Did EJ find out something he shouldn't have? EJ asked Kate the reason behind the marriage, too. He assumed it was because of Kate's part in the Chloe/Daniel incident; that his father saved her for a price: marriage. EJ warned Kate not to hurt Stefano or there would be hell to pay. Stefano and Nicole discussed Brady's call to Paris. "Something about Mia's baby must be about to break," said Nicole, begging Stefano for help. Stefano promised to take care of things, but wanted to celebrate his marriage, first. Nicole told EJ she'd join them, after she checked on Sydney. Then, she phoned Brady, insisting they had to meet.
Arianna was surprised to run into Meredith and even more surprised she was carrying mortar. Meredith said she was fixing up her parents' house. The pair went into the Cheatin' Heart and talked about Emily's death. "You still blame my brother, don't you?" asked Arianna, insisting Rafe and Emily and had suffered enough. "Not remotely," countered Meredith. Arianna thought Meredith wasn't honoring Emily's memory. Meredith snapped, noting Rafe killed Emily and snuffed out her life, too. After Meredith left, Arianna summoned Roman and asked him to run a name for her: Meredith Hudson. Roman revealed Sami asked him to run the same name.
Rafe called out for Sami; then, dreamt about telling her her baby was still alive and it was Sydney. Rafe tried to free himself. He spotted a nail on the floor and tried to reach it. Meredith returned and found Rafe on the floor. She hit him and warned he would never get away. Then, Meredith started building a brick wall around Rafe.
Sami fretted over Rafe's goodbye email. Will arrived, and Sami told him about it. Will said he was sorry. Sami asked what happened with Mia. Will explained that Mia's baby's father found out she was pregnant and gave the child away. Now he wanted his baby back and didn't even care that she'd been adopted by a nice family. Will hoped he could find a way to get Mia through this.
Chad asked if Mia wanted to get back together. Mia said not if he kept trying to find out where their baby is. She swore she'd do anything to make sure her child stayed with the family who adopted her. Chad just wanted to see his kid and let her know he was her dad. Mia understood that Chad felt left out of the decision she made, but she did what was best for their child. She told Chad if he wanted to be with her, he had to move on. Chad said he couldn't stop thinking about his baby and where she was. Mia said Chad had to decide: either he gave up trying to find their baby or he lost a chance at reconciling with her. Chad wanted Will out of Mia's, first. Then, they'd talk.
Will got a call from his Uncle Mickey, just as Mia arrived. Sami Mia she admired her for telling Will the truth about her baby. Mia was surprised Will told her. When Will returned, Mia laced into him for telling Sami about her pregnancy. She never wanted to see him again. Later, Mia phoned Chad and said she needed to see him. Will returned home and told Sami he screwed up telling her Mia's secret. Chad arrived to see Mia. She told him she broke up with Will. Meanwhile, Will lamented over how he was going to win Mia's trust back.
Thursday
Stefano toasted to his marriage to Kate with EJ, while Nicole was on the phone with Brady, chastising him for telling EJ about their secret. They agreed to meet on the pier. EJ came out and asked who Nicole was chatting with. Nicole said it was Sydney's pediatrician, and she was leaving to pick up her medicine. EJ talked her into toasting the newlyweds first. Nicole finished her drink and raced off to meet Brady. Stefano and EJ talked about Tony. EJ reminded his father he married the mother of the man who tried to kill him. EJ had concerns about Kate: He and his father conducted business at home and she couldn't be trusted. Stefano said they'd do their business at the office. EJ noticed that Stefano looked pale, but Stefano insisted he was fine. He headed upstairs, and asked Kate to bring him Grappa to settle his stomach. Later, Kate caught EJ giving instructions to one of his henchmen. Kate asked who he was. "An employee," responded EJ, telling Kate to keep her eyes shut and mouth closed. He warned Kate that whatever Stefano made disappear, he could make reappear.
When Nicole arrived at the pier, Brady revealed that Arianna knew about her miscarriage, but not when it happened. Nicole revealed that EJ was suspicious, too. She had a plan, and filled Brady in on the story she'd told EJ about his drug relapse. Brady was furious. Nicole begged him to go along with the lie. Brady refused, noting Victor would fire him. EJ's henchman taped their conversation. Nicole begged for Brady's help, noting he would only lose a job, while she would lose EJ and Sydney. Finally, Brady relented for Sydney's sake. Nicole sobbed with relief, professing her deep love for her daughter. Nicole thanked Brady and left. Meanwhile, the henchman brought his tape to EJ. EJ listened as Nicole begged Brady to help her, like he did the one and only time she was pregnant. EJ put the recorder away. When Nicole returned, EJ announced, "I found out something," adding that Nicole would learn what it was "when the time was right."
Victor wanted to talk to Philip about Kate. Philip spat that his mother was a traitor and out of his life. He stormed off and found Stephanie, who was there to check on him. She'd heard about Kate and Stefano's marriage and about Kate's part in Chloe's poisoning. The twosome admitted they'd always have a place in each other's hearts. Victor interrupted, admitting he was glad they broke up. He gave Philip the memory stick he'd been looking for, noting he wouldn't have to go back to the office. Steph assumed Philip was back at Titan. Philip assumed she didn't approve. She didn't. "I'm not in the mood for one of your lectures today," snapped Philip. Steph left. Victor returned and suggested Philip find a woman who didn't want to turn him into something he's not. "I know a woman who likes me just the way I am," noted Philip.
Nathan got off the phone with Lexie and delivered good news to Melanie: they'd both been reinstated at the hospital. Melanie was thrilled. Things got even better when Nathan asked her on a date. Maggie interrupted and sent Melanie off, so she could talk to Nathan alone. She told him going out with Melanie would be "a huge mistake." Nathan swore he wasn't looking for anything serious and said he was aware of Melanie's feelings for Philip. Maggie didn't want Nathan to get hurt and revealed she knew about the video. "Philip used her," contended Nathan. Maggie thought Nathan deserved better than Melanie. Melanie returned, and Nathan split. Melanie asked Maggie if she'd been talking behind her back. Maggie 'fessed up that she cared about Melanie but was protective of Nathan. She was worried about Melanie's feelings for Philip and urged Melanie to let Nathan go for both their sakes. Nathan returned, and Melanie recounted what went down with Maggie. Nathan insisted he made his own decisions and asked if Melanie wanted to go on a date. She did.
Later, Steph ran into Nathan at the hospital, while Philip showed up at Maggie's looking for Melanie. Maggie warned him if he hurt Melanie, he would answer to h er. Melanie arrived at the pub and sensed something was wrong. Brady admitted she'd be hearing some unsavory things about him soon. Melanie assumed Nicole was involved. "You're still in love with her, aren't you?" she asked.
Friday
Nicole met Brady and reported that things didn't go well with EJ. "He said he needed time to digest something he learned," relayed Nicole. They discussed the convoluted story they were going to tell EJ about. Meanwhile, EJ was on the phone ordering Marco to get all the information he could on Nicole. He hung up and replayed Nicole's conversation with Brady. Marco phoned back. EJ listened, then hung up and had a drink. Nicole and Brady arrived. Brady apologized for ruining Nicole and EJ's honeymoon, swearing he was high when he called them. EJ told Brady to go. After he left, Nicole explained that the secret Brady mentioned was his drug addiction. EJ erupted, accusing Nicole of lying. He pulled out a box. Nicole opened it to find fake pregnancy padding. EJ said he got it at the same store Nicole bought her padding. Nicole quickly made up a story. She bought the padding, because it helped her choose maternity clothes. EJ didn't buy it. He pulled out a recorder and played back Nicole and Brady's conversation. Nicole admitted having a miscarriage, but said it was years ago. She didn't lose their baby. EJ knew she did and demanded the truth about Sydney. Nicole started sobbing as she went on about having their little girl. EJ knew that story was in impossible, "because my daughter is dead," he said.
Sami was reading Rafe's message, when Mia arrived looking for her chemistry notebook. Sami said Will told her about their breakup. Mia revealed she'd reconciled with Chad. Sami wanted to know why. Mia insisted the baby brought them closer. Sami didn't buy it and accused Mia of hiding something. Mia swore she wasn't.
Chad ran into Will and said he tried to call him last night. "What, so you can rub it in my face that Mia broke up with me?" asked Will, noting that Chad shouldn't get his hopes up about reconciling with Mia. Chad said it already happened. Will didn't believe it. They started bickering, and Will left. Chad called Mia, saying they had to talk.
Roman found Arianna at the pub and told her Meredith's story about her parents' house checked out. Arianna mentioned how strange Meredith had acted last night and that she still hadn't heard from Rafe. Roman promised to keep his ears open. Later, Sami met Roman and revealed she had a job interview. She also told him about Rafe's email. Roman already knew. He'd spoken to Arianna, who asked him to look into Meredith's background, too. Sami said she still couldn't believe Rafe was gone.
A dazed Rafe watched Meredith build a brick wall around him. He called out for Sami. Meredith was glad he woke up. She thought she'd killed him the last time she whacked his head. She wanted Rafe to d ie a slow, painful death. Rafe slipped back into unconsciousness and started muttering about Sami's baby being alive. Meredith's phone rang. It was Arianna, so she didn't answer it. Arianna left a message that she would meet Meredith at her parents house. Meredith called Arianna, noting now wasn't a good time. Arianna insisted she really needed to talk. Meredith held firm, when Rafe called out. She quickly hung up, telling Rafe he caught a break. His sister was on her way over, so she couldn't finish the job.
Brady went to the pub and asked Arianna if she told anyone else about Nicole's miscarriage. Arianna said she hadn't. She also understood why he was helping Nicole, insinuating they were more than friends. Sami walked a tad disheveled. She explained she had an interview at a dog spa and had a run in with one of the pups. Sami also told Brady she didn't know where Rafe was. Brady offered to look for him. Sami said no. "I need to accept that that part of my life is over and it's not coming back," she sighed. Meanwhile, a perplexed Arianna walked into Meredith's parents' basement and found the wall Meredith was building. Meredith already left and was dragging Rafe's body on the pier. Then, she rolled it into the river.
