It's like you said they are rigged.

They could have easily nominated OLTL instead of AMC for writing and Outstanding Daytime Series. The nominations that AMC has received are nothing but total jokes. I don't know how they pulled it off, but they did. And as far as Krystal being nominated, I just don't get it. I like the character and the actress, but I don't get what she has done in the past year that was so significant to warrant an Emmy nomination. And why did David Canary get snubbed? I really don't understand the Emmy's at all.Doesn't matter, because we all know that Y&R's actors are going to clean house. And the final award is either going to go to GH or Y&R.

I wish I could explain, but I can't. All I know, it's (Pratt's nomination) an insult to every writer in daytime and primetime to even include him in a 'writer's' category because it implies he is considered as such. Ask any fan of AMC who watched under his reign of horror, and they will tell you the man is no writer. I know there are fewer shows on air, and if five aren't worthy of nominations, just nominate the few that are. At least it will give the entire award show some credibility because as it stands now, the Daytime Emmy Award Show is the Rodney Dangerfield of award shows..it doesn't, and with these kinds of nominations, will never get any respect.I cannot believe David Canary was not nominated for lead actor...he was tremendous all year even if his character was ruined at the feet of the odious Annie. (glad she wasn't nominated). Maybe he didn't submit anything. Perhaps he didn't want to be asssociated with anything with Pratt's name on it. Who knows? I'm still fuming over Bobbi Eakes nomination and still cannot for the life of me see what she contributed to the show. Her talent aside, what did she do to get this nomination? and moreover, were the entries from all the other entrants so paltry that she was the best of the least? It's all a big mystery, and it will not get me to watch.

That's why I think they should nominate one person for each category, from each of the shows....that would even out the playing field, and give some that are continually being ignored, the opportunity to maybe have their name thrown into the pot. I'm truly tired of my boy Trevor St. John (Todd, OLTL) being ignored every year. The man is an acting genius. He took on a HUGELY popular role, and made it his own. He had incredible shoes to fill, when he took on the role...but truth be told now, I can't imagine anyone else playing Todd.Hell, I'm tired of the whole cast of OLTL being ignored. Tea, Todd, Blair, Starr, Cole.....the list goes on, of people that should have been nominated. No one on the cast of AMC, with the exception of David Canary, Thorstan Kaye & Alicia Menshew even deserved to be nominated. And even though I'm not a huge fan of Zendall, I still think it was a huge slap in the face for either one of them not to receive a nomination. I mean, Bobbie Eakes? Come on!! What in the hell has she done?! And I'm just dumbfounded as to how AMC got a nomination for Best Writing or Outstanding Daytime Series. I'm a fan of AMC, but I can honestly say, without a doubt, they don't deserve this at all. No disrespect to all of the people that work hard every day to put this show together....but come on, it's been in the toilet for quite some time. I don't know what the industry is seeing in AMC, but the fans can smell the crap fumes seeping through their televisions.And I've been watching since Wednesday, when the new writer's material starting airing, and I'm not impressed at all. They need to kick Lorraine Broderick out of the writing sessions and start coming up with their own material....becasue the direction that Pratt was heading in, and the direction that Lorraine continued to go in, is not the right path to take. It's time to do a 180 and go into a completely new direction. it should be like night & day. They could easily wrap up this crap that's going on, and save this sinking ship. There needs to be a big catastrophy....a tornado, a hurricane, an earthquake a bombing (Planned by Vanessa) to whisk into town and wipe the slate clean. Then have these characters come out of this incident in the way that we remember them. The current storylines, or lack there of, are not working. There is no love, excitement, thrills, chills.....NOTHING. This garbage with Erica & Greenlee is SOOOOO stupid. As well as the garbage between Erica & Jack, David & Ryan, David & Madison, Ryan & Madison.....does anyone else see the pattern I see. Using the same characters in these stupid sub-plots does not make a show. The only decent story they had going thus far, in May, was the one with Janet & Amanda...but they've already wrapped that up. It's pathetic how bad the writing is on this show. And what's even more pathetic is the recognition this show is getting, for the horrible job that they have done & continue to do with this show.

Eh, on second thought, the folks on the nominating board fell down a rabbit hole. Maybe that explains it.

How could they have nominated OLTL when their gay storyline was so "wrong"?! goes to show you they would rather give Pratt an Emmy over a writing team that gave you a beautiful gay love story.

I'm not sure I understand what your saying..I thought OLTL did a great job on their gay s/l......At least, most people I know thought so...While, AMC/PRatt's so-called same sex couple s/l was distasteful, disgusting, and some horny old perverts fantasy about lesbians changing when in the orbit of a hot guy....I get that Frons/ABC has a prejudice against gay/lesbian s/l...... Hell, they have a prejudice against women, but I do think that OLTL tried to tell a good story....Maybe, I'm misunderstanding....

My point was that it was wonderful and they flushed it.
