EXCLUSIVE! Huge Y&R Casting Shocker!

Soap Opera Digest has learned that super-popular star Billy Miller (Billy, Y&R) has chosen to leave the soap when his contract expires this summer. The actor joined the show in 2008 and previously played AMC's Richie. Check back here for more scoop!

I can understand a little about needing to spread your acting wings and not wanting to go stale in one character or feeling restless. It could be not coming to agreeable terms in your contract. For me it will be a loss at Y&R. I just wanted to tell you that how you portray Billy as Victoria's husband is very sexy and the way you protect her to the way you lead her into a room. All the big things to the subtle tones in your voice. You can watch other couples and how they are interacting as being in love but most men do not have that certain finesse to make it look so hot to be in love with. To bad it's only on TV. Sorry to see you leave Billy, there will be a void with you gone when it comes to leading men of romance. But I am still using your character as a gauge to what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated. Even though it is a slight fantasy. Is there a chance you would be doing any movies on the big screen? That would be cool. Your a wonderful actor and best wishes on your next endevers whatever they may be.
I have always like Billy, but I never cared for Victoria until Billy and Victoria were paired up together. When they first started hooking up, I would rush home everyday just to watch the two of them. Their non-wedding in Hawaii was fabulous!!! Even after they got serious and really got married, I still liked them. They are my favorite couple by far. And no other actor will be able to portray Billy Abbot as well, especially with Victoria. Billy, Victoria, Reed, Dehlia and Lucy Abbot are the best family that has been on the show in years! They all need to be together.
Billy Miller is very talented and I'd like to see him grow as an actor. If that means watching him in some other time slot, well so be it. I'll watch for him wherever he goes, because he's that good. I'd hate to see his character go, but we all know after these past (almost 4) decades of Y&R that some of our favorites leave and we survive. No matter what, I will still hang on, but I will sure miss his bright smile every day on Y&R.
This is just so sad, to even read that you're not going to be on our show Y & R during the summer.

I sure hope that you could reconsider or renigoiate whatever is stopping you from leaving the show, but if you have other projects in the works-good for you then. :)

To be honest, there's be no real official word as to whether or not Miller is leaving. So far, from what I've heard, he was in contract negotiations with the show. Unless SOD got word later in the day than every other soap mag, then I'm not going to believe this completely. Besides, why would the show, honestly, get rid of the only supercouple it has right now, especially with the extreme popularity that Miller and Heinle's Billy and Victoria have? It wouldn't make sense for them NOT to negotiate with him. From what I understand, he wanted to be able to do outside work, and Y&R has always been good about letting their stars do outside work while on contract! Considering Heinle just re-signed, I think this is merely a "scare tactic" report more than an accurate one. Just my opinion, as Carolyn Hinsey would say...
Please don't leave, You and Victoria are great together. No replacement will be the same.
I hate to see him leave the show, but any actor committed to his career has got to be looking for opportunities outside of soaps, given the demise of this genre. I suspect we'll be seeing Billy Miller on primetime in the future.
As to Y&R, better to write him off the show than re-cast him. He will be a tough act to follow.
Please say it ain't so! Billy has brought so much to this character, and is my favorite on this show by far! He is so cute, and has this mischievous glint in his eye - it's always fun wondering where his mind is going next! He fits the role perfectly, and truly looks like he could be Jack/Ash/Tracy's brother. I really hope he reconsiders, this will be a great loss for this show.
Well, hell they're gonna have to kill him off. No other actor is going to be able to come in with the same humor and wit he has brought to this role and without it they won't be Billy...before he goes maybe he can give ole Victoria some hair tips..wash it brush it or just plain cut the crap off cause she damn sure doesn't know how to fix it!...justsayn

I love Billy Miller! He is a sexy smart wonderful actor and I've loved his portrayal of Billy Abbott! I wish him much luck in the future but I'll miss that wonderfully mischievious smile of his!
Good. I never really warmed to Billy Miller as an actor anyway. He never should have been paired with Amelia Heinle anyway. Her husband who played her husband on the show has left also. To me, they could never really pair her with someone that has lasted. Victoria and Billy just came out of left field. Even when he was on All My Children playing the character Ritchie, I did not like Billy Miller just as an actor. I can't say that I am upset by this. There's is just something about him that never really appealed to me.
I think he has done a great job with the part since the beginning, when perhaps the writing was not the best. My favorite episode was the Christmas episode he did two years ago. I'm sorry to see him leave but wish him the best in the future. And speaking of the future, SCC Crankypants...try looking at the glass as half full. I think you will find yourself to be a much happier person if you do this. :-)
I knew being paired with Vikki would be the kiss of death for this character. Every man that has ever been paired with whinyvikki is off the show. She is horrible. I do not blame BM for wanting off the show. They ruined his character by making him Billy Newman instead of Billy Abbot. I wish him well.
Billy, please don't leave. U R one of the reasons I still watch Y&R. Let Michael M leave but not U. Love Billy and your chemistry with everyone. I really hope there's a good reason for yr leaving like a better show at night. I FF thru so much and U R one of the people I luv to watch.(:(:(: So sad.
I hope he changes his mind about leaving. He is absolutely the best person to play the character of Billy Abbott.
Maybe if we all write him and tell him how much we love him, he might consider staying? I have lots of people who are ready to start writing.
Best character on the show. This is the best Billy ever! He looks and acts like a younger version of brother Jack. He should not leave, excellent character and actor!!!!!
No, this can't be happening. Billy Miller owns this character. I can't imagine anyone else playing him. He is the best Billy Abbott the show has ever had. Billy, your fellow Tx Longhorn's heart is broken! :o(
No way!!!! I LOVE him as Billy... I even enjoyed him as crazy Ritchie on AMC... he's super talented and portrays one of my favorite characters on the show. All I can say is, good luck to Y&R on recasting him.
He'll be missed... he has added so many layers to his character... and lots of laughs also. In fact, Victoria has a sense of humor with him... who knew! Best wishes whatever your future endeavors may be, Billy Miller.
