Exclusive: Y&R’s Kay Sendoff And DAYS’s Eileen Davidson Speaks Out
In the new issue of Digest, Y&R's exiting head writer, Josh Griffith, previews the emotional on-air death of the late Jeanne Cooper's alter ego, Katherine Chancellor. “It’s very overwhelming,” says Griffith. “Katherine is, in so many ways, the heart and soul of Genoa City. To learn that she’s gone is as devastating to them as it was to us when we lost Jeanne.” Meanwhile, Eileen Davidson shares her true reasons for walking away from the role of DAYS OF OUR LIVES's Kristen. "I was just going back and forth because it was such a great experience. I love the people there dearly. [Eric] Martsolf [Brady] and I had great chemistry, and I told him that it’s like catching lightning in a bottle; you just don’t know. So I had a lot of mixed feelings about it, but I was just feeling that for a lot of reasons, it was the right thing for me to do," she says of making the tough decision.
