I have been a avid fan of days for over 20 years. That said, I cannot see where the writers and Ken Corday are heading. I understand all the budget cuts, but are the others shows cutting their older stars. Take a hint DAYS, Y&R is showcasing their veterans with a good mixture of the younger stars. Their ratings are steady, and some weeks even going up. Where are the Bradys and Hortons? Its seems we are showcasing more of the DiMeras and Kirakis's.
Quit bringing in new stars who are not connected to the core families, and bring back our favorites. Your send off for John and Marlena was far to quick, and not thoroughly thought through. As for Steve, Kayla, Tony and Anna I will not even go there. Wake up DAYS before all viewers are gone.

Interesting that at Sydney's Christening, which Stefano proclaimed was such an important family ceremony, Tony attended without Anna. I know, Leanne already bit the dust, but there was not even a mention of Anna's name . . why she was unable to be here today . . .

And that kind of writing is the reason people are tuning out. I have watched Days for over 24 years, and I am currently tuned "out" because of this kind of writing and not staying true to the story and the character's. Anna would have been there with Toney, so where is the send off. Is there just going to be death scene that there is no vested interest in...I try to watch, but it is hard to do

I could not agree more. Build the show around the core families - Hortons & Bradys and the veterans that fans have invested decades in and the ratings will improve, which will improve the bottom line. You get what you pay for. Money is just being wasted on all of these new, non-core family characters and disjointed, recycled storylines. Another way to improve the show is to realize that a little DiMera goes a very long way. There is a reason that the good guys win at the end of any popular movie; people would be furious if they didn't and that is only an investment of two hours. Days fans have invested decades in this show, just to have the Hortons and Bradys being overshadowed by these cartoon characters.

Days of Our Lives: The WeddingI promised the fans at the NBC boards that I would finish with a storyline that most of them wanted but the show denied them. Tony and Anna's fans will particularly enjoy it. It's called the Wedding and will be in two parts.http://elfmagi.blogspot.com/Please pass this along to others

Apparently, Leann hasn't made her exit yet, as we're told she visits the DiMera mansion after Tony dies and slaps Stefano (can't wait to see THAT!) So, I'm even more confused as to why she wasn't at the christening. Sloppy, sloppy.

I admit to be frustrated with this show as well. I don't like that Tony and Anna are being written off yet again, and that Tonyis being killed AGAIN. Why not have them leave town to start over without interference from the other DiMera's? There are ways to do it that don't kill them off.I have a feeling that the show is now going to focus on a feud between the DiMera and the Kiriakis families. I don't mind that story but think it could have been done without killing Tony. ALSO, I feel that Victor and Stefano should be front and center in this story. Two strong characters with a lot to give the show.Bradys are still well represented on the show. The Hortons aren't and haven't been for a LONG time. So it appears that the core families are now the Bradys, DiMeras and the Kiriakis's. I will say that getting Tony off the canvas allows them to make Stefano younger. With Elvis being somewhere in his late 20s, early 30s, Stefano can now be played in his mid to late 50s. Hard to do with Tony on the canvas.

IMO, Tony and Anna were the only interesting DiMeras, with them gone, I'd like to see Stefano & Elvis gone as well. But IA that the writers are setting the stage for a DiMera/Kiriakis feud, which is essentially just recycling the old scripts and replacing the name Kiriakis for Brady. The Hortons are still central to the show, they are just so intermarried with the Bradys that it is easy to think of them all as one family. Regardless of the direction that various writers have taken over the years, Hortons/Bradys will always be the natural core of the show. Everytime the writers seem to forget that, the show suffers.Victor and the Kiriakis family are interesting, well developed, complex characters and it is good to see them used as well. Whereas Stefano (and more recently Elvis) IMO, have just been props for lazy writing. Convenient villians to create trouble rather than making the effort to write complex stories from the natural conflicts that arise between well-developed day characters.
