General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of August 23, 2010
Monday
Patrick and Robin were stunned to learn that Lisa came by earlier and took Emma out for ice cream. Patrick wanted to call Mac but Robin warned her husband not to get excited. They split up and went looking for Lisa and Emma. Patrick went to the hospital and told Steven what happened. Patrick said if Emma wasn’t back by the time he got home, he was calling the cops. Steven told Patrick he better be prepared to come clean. Patrick returned home to find Lisa and Emma. Patrick took his daughter and called Robin to come home. Patrick barked to Lisa that if she goes near Emma again, he’ll have her arrested. Just then, Robin walked in.
Sam called from the Lopez’s van and gave Jason her GPS location. Jason said
he’d be right there. Shortly after, Jason caught up with Sam and a shoot out
ensued. Lopez and his henchman got the jump on Jason and Sam, but not for
long. Jason overpowered the men, stole the van and got away. After stopping,
they noted the irony of being in a van full of illegal goods. They kissed,
then the police showed up.
In Italy, Franco’s art broker, Wilhelm, asked Brenda to be the subject of
Franco’s next masterpiece. Brenda called Franco unstable at best and opened
the door for Wilhelm to leave. He urged Brenda to reconsider the offer.
Wilhelm even presented Brenda with a large check but she turned him down
flat. Brenda left to work out, and when she returned, someone was in her
room.
At Casa de Corinthos, Sonny confessed to Dante that he just shot Johnny
Zacchara. He stressed, however, that Sonny shot Johnny in self defense. In
fact, Sonny swore on his children’s lives that if he hadn’t pulled the
trigger, he’d be dead. Sonny pointed out that he could have had Johnny
disposed of but left his rival with a fighting chance. Dante said he
believed his father.
At Metro Court, Jax warned Claire that the war between Sonny and Johnny was
heating up. Jax also warned Claire that women around Sonny have a bad habit
of getting killed. Claire assured Jax that when it comes to Sonny, she’s the
one in charge. Just then, Claire got the call about Sonny shooting Johnny.
She was excited about the prospect of putting Sonny behind bars for good.
At G.H., Steven told Maya to get back into the fray. Just then, Johnny was
rushed in. He’d lost a lot of blood. Maya notified Ethan about Johnny’s
shooting and Ethan arrived at the hospital, as did Lucky. Lucky asked Maya
to check for gunpowder residue on Johnny’s hand. Later, Maya told Ethan that
Johnny’s condition could go either way. In the waiting area, Ethan and Lucky
debated Sonny’s motives while Johnny opened his eyes and saw Maya. Johnny
asked to see Ethan and Olivia. Maya said she’d call Liv. Ethan went to talk
to Johnny and Lucky eavesdropped.
Alone, Ronnie dumped Johnny’s gun into the harbor. Afterward, Ronnie and the
cops showed up at Sonny’s. Dante told Ronnie that he believed Sonny did
shoot Johnny in self defense. Ronnie said no gun was found with Johnny.
Sonny was furious.
Tuesday
Outside the van, Jason and Sam were approached by a cop. They figured they were busted with the van full of the Lopez's illegal bounty but the cop just asked if they needed help changing their flat tire. Jason and Sam talked their way out the pickle, and the cop was called away to a traffic accident. Jason told Sam they needed to ditch the van. He set the van ablaze but Sam twisted her ankle in the ensuing explosion. Jason picked Sam up and carried her off.
In Rome, a shadowy figure lurked in Brenda's room, but hid when Murphy knocked on the door. Murphy entered, excited about getting offered the part of a spy in a major movie franchise. Somehow, though, the conversation drifted to the men in Brenda's past. Brenda then got a call to attend a gala on behalf of Cartullo. Murphy suggested a quick getaway to Lake Cuomo. Brenda liked the idea but insisted she couldn't get away. Murphy then pressed Brenda for a decision on his marriage proposal. Brenda didn't give him an answer but agreed to a getaway. After they left the room, the shadowy figure sneaked out.
At Sonny's house, Ronnie insisted that no gun was found on Johnny's body. Dante walked over to Sonny and spat, "You lied to me." Ronnie called Sonny arrogant and Sonny told him to shut up. Sonny was escorted out but Dante said, "Wait!" Sonny insisted that he was letting the facts speak for themselves. "I'm telling the truth, Dante!" Sonny shouted as he was led out.
At G.H., Johnny lost consciousness and was rushed into surgery. Lucky demanded answers from Ethan about Johnny's actions. Lucky then mentioned the missing gun and said that Sonny isn't, "that stupid or sloppy." ... Ronnie brought Sonny into the PCPD, and informed Diane that Sonny already confessed to shooting Johnny. Diane said Sonny knew better than to speak without his lawyer present, and there was no way Ronnie could prove the shooting was premeditated. Claire showed up and said perhaps there was a way, after all. Claire played a tape of Sonny stating that he wanted Johnny dead.
At their home, Lisa apologized for "the mix up" with Emma. Lisa claimed she left a message for them at the hospital. "I know exactly what you're doing," Robin huffed. Robin told Lisa that she took Emma on purpose and ordered her to stay away from her family. After Lisa left, Patrick told Robin that the situation was all his fault. Robin said she'd call Mac but Patrick insisted on coming clean. "While you were in Africa, I slept with Lisa," he admitted. Robin was in shock and Patrick said that sleeping with Lisa was the biggest mistake of his life. Patrick insisted that he loved his life and loved his wife, but Robin replied that he trashed their marriage. Robin then told Patrick to get out.
Michael met Jax at Metro Court, and Jax broke the news of Sonny's arrest. Michael couldn't understand why Sonny would do something like that.... Lucky and Dante compared notes at G.H. about the shooting. Lucky interrogated Maya, who provided no new answers.... Michael showed up to talk to Dante, wanting answers from Johnny. Dante told his brother to go home.
Lisa returned to G.H. and invited Steven out for a beer. Steven asked about Emma, and Lisa accused Robin of being a paranoid drama queen.
"You're in deep," sighed Diane to Sonny in the PCPD interrogation room. Sonny insisted on seeing Claire, despite Diane's protests. Sonny asked Claire to look at him. "I'm innocent," he declared. Claire replied that their game was over, and walked out.
Wednesday
Dante had a dream that he woke up in bed with Brook Lynn. Just then, Lulu arrived with breakfast — for Michael. Dante insisted on clearing the air about Brook. Lulu didn't want to hear it but Michael spoke up for his brother. After Michael left, Lulu said Dante shouldn't have been drinking with Brook in the first place. As they talked, Brook Lynn came by and told the couple that even if Dante was drugged, he still wanted her. Brook added that when Dante was ready for her, she'd be waiting. After Brook left, Dante assured Lulu that she was the only woman he wanted. Lulu wondered if they needed some space but Dante persuaded Lulu to forgive him. She said she would, if he did something for her, then whispered in his ear. Dante's eyes widened.
Sam woke up in Jason's arms in a campground. Her ankle was still sore but Jason assured his woman that he'd take care of her. Jason got her to an abandoned cabin and got Sam something to eat. Sam enjoyed spending the time alone with Jason. Jason replied that he thought of Sam every day while he was in prison and vowed he'd never lose her again. Jason prepared to carry Sam out the door when shots were fired at them.
Maxie showed up at Robin's and knew her cousin had been crying. Robin then mentioned Patrick's confession of adultery with Lisa. Maxie told Robin that no matter what, Patrick still loves her. Robin was angry about Lisa befriending her when she first got to town, and called her rival, “out of her mind.” Maxie pointed out that sometimes we hurt the ones we love the most.
At G.H., Lisa overheard Patrick tell Steven that Robin threw him out. As Patrick lamented his mistake, Lisa walked by like nothing was wrong. Later, Robin showed up at work and asked Lisa for a moment. Robin then called Lisaa “home-wrecking whore” and said if she ever goes near Emma again, Robin will kill Lisa herself. Afterward, Patrick tried to talk to Robin, but she caused a scene at the hub and told Patrick that she hated him.
Lucky warned Ethan about sticking by Johnny if the war between Sonny and Johnny continues. Ethan then asked Lucky if he missed, “coloring outside the lines,” and suggested giving in to his Spencer instincts. Lucky said he'd pass.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas entertained the three boys while Elizabeth took care of Aiden. The boys were having a great time playing on the island. Later, Nikolas overheard Liz talking to the baby about how she felt out of place there.
Maxie had Lucky investigate Lisa, but Lucky came up with nothing criminal in her past. Later, Lisa showed up at the police station and reported Robin's threat.
At Kelly's, Michael caught up with Brook Lynn and figured out that Carly's paying her to break up Dante and Lulu. Brook was speechless.
Thursday
At Kelly's, Michael told Brook that he's convinced Carly hired her to break up Dante and Lulu. Brook denied the accusation. Lulu walked in and barked at Brook to stop working Michael. Brook stuck by her story, saying Dante was interested in her. Michael asked the girls to call a truce, to no avail.
Dante checked on Johnny's condition. Maya told him it was still
touch-and-go. Dante asked for Maya's opinion; she shared that she thinks Johnny is a good guy. Just then, Olivia showed up. "You wouldn't listen to me," she sighed. She picked up his hand and told Johnny he'd get through this — and that she loved him.
At the PCPD, Diane told Sonny that his situation looked bleak. She then mentioned that Jason disappeared. Dante went to visit Sonny, who still insisted that he shot Johnny in self-defense. "You keep saying that, but the problem here is, I don't believe you," Dante stated. Sonny countered that after he shot Dante, he vowed that he'd never shoot an unarmed man again. Sonny then asked Dante to believe his story, not as a cop but as a son.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas overheard Elizabeth telling Aiden that she's not comfortable staying there but was going to make an effort for the sake of her sons. Later, Nikolas called Sarah and asked her to give Liz a graceful "out" and suggested that she call Liz and ask her to come for a visit. Sarah did call, and Liz was thrilled to hear from her big sis. After their chat, Liz talked to Nikolas about visiting Sarah. Liz was hesitant but Nik told her she should go. Liz packed up the boys and said good-bye. Spencer told his father he wished they could have stayed longer, "Yeah, me too," Nik replied.
At the cabin, Jason got Sam back inside as bullets flew. Sam feared they were out-gunned. Jason ordered Sam to stay down and let the gunmen believe they were out of ammo. Jason planned to sneak out of the cabin and get the jump on the gunmen.
At G.H., Robin chewed out Patrick at the hub in front of their co-workers. Steven intervened and told Robin that she didn't want to do this at work. A tearful Robin walked away. Later, Patrick went home to find Robin packing his things. She asked him to come back later, adding that she believed cheaters don't stop cheating. Patrick continued to apologize but Robin wasn't interested and kept packing. "I'll do whatever it takes," he insisted. "Just give me another chance."
At the PCPD, Lisa told Lucky about her affair with Patrick and that Robin threatened her. Lucky was skeptical but didn't show it. Lisa said she planned to keep a low profile but wanted the police to know, "God forbid something should happen." Lisa then went back to work. In the locker room, Steven suggested that Lisa take some time off but she refused. Then, Lisa opened her locker to find it trashed.
Friday
At the cabin, Sam was certain that Lopez's men would burst in at any moment.
When things quieted down, she and Jason discussed their past adventures.
Just as they were about to kiss, they heard a noise; it turned out to be
nothing. Sam suggested when they get home that they take a bubble bath
together. Jason replied that he didn't feel that imperiled. They both smiled
and Jason said it was time to make his move. Jason sneaked outside and as
the gunmen attempted to move into the cabin, Jason fired from above while
Sam shot at them from inside the structure.
In the PCPD interrogation room, Sonny told Dante yet again that he did not
shoot an unarmed Johnny. Dante relented and said that he believed Sonny was
telling the truth. Dante stated he'd look into the case, and Sonny pointed
out that Claire and Ronnie would not be happy. Dante noted that he hasn't
always done what was popular. As they discussed how Johnny could have dumped
the gun, Diane burst in and chastised Dante for speaking to Sonny without
his attorney present. Sonny tried to tell her that Dante believed him but
Diane wasn't hearing it. "Your misplaced trust is going to land you in
Pentonville," she huffed. Dante left and Sonny thought back to the time when
Brenda wore a wire to entrap him. Diane called Bernie in and hypothetically
suggested a client jumping bail, then walked out. "When do you want to
leave?" asked Bernie. As Sonny contemplated their suggestion, Bernie asked
where Sonny would like to go. "Rome," Corinthos replied.
On her terrace in Italy, Brenda was on her laptop when Murphy stopped by. He
stated that he wasn't sure about taking his latest movie role because in
their months apart, another man could sweep in and whisk Brenda away. She
assured Murphy that she wasn't going anywhere. Alone, Brenda recalled making
love to Sonny for the first time. Murphy startled her when he returned with
beers and offered to take her on a boat ride. Brenda opened up about her
ex-husband, Jason, explaining that it was a marriage of convenience. "Isn't
it time you married for love?" Murphy asked. After some lighthearted
badgering from Murphy, Brenda accepted his marriage proposal.
At home, Robin told Patrick that she always feared that his womanizing
nature would never go away. Patrick expressed resentment about living in the
shadow of Stone. Robin noted that sleeping with someone else was no way to
fix that. Robin added that she wanted to forgive Patrick but then she
remembered the time when Emma was missing. "Please leave," she asked. "I'm
not going to give up," he stated. "Neither will Lisa," Robin replied. A
teary Patrick left.
At G.H., Lisa and Steven were stunned to find Lisa's locker covered in
blood. Steven vowed to launch an investigation and Lisa stated the obvious:
Robin could be the culprit. Lisa left the hospital and bumped into Patrick
on the street. She said he looked like he could use a friend. Patrick told
her to keep walking. Lisa said things worked out the way they were supposed
to but Patrick called her delusional. Patrick repeated that sleeping with
her was the worst mistake of his life. Lisa was crushed but stated that in a
few days, Patrick would see things differently. Just then, Robin called and
said their family doesn't work without him. Patrick asked to talk more and
Robin said she'd come pick him up. Lisa eavesdropped on Patrick's side of
the conversation. Shortly after, as Robin drove down the street, Lisa leapt
out of hiding and jumped in front of Robin's car. Patrick turned around and
saw Lisa bounce off the hood of Robin's vehicle.
