GH Week of August 30, 2010
Monday
Lisa saw Robin coming and leaped in front of her car. "I didn't see her!" Robin cried. "She tried to kill me," Lisa gasped. Robin told the police she wasn't drunk or speeding. After they left, Robin told Patrick that Lisa is crazy. Back at GH, Robin told Steve what had happened. Steve pointed out that Lisa filled a complaint against Robin. "Lisa is trying to set me up," Robin groaned. Later, Mac took Lisa's statement: "Robin tried to kill me." She revealed the affair, and said Robin is falling apart. She recapped about the locker room, and Patrick confirmed the infidelity. "I told you this would happen," Mac groused. He demanded Robin and the baby move in with him. Patrick insisted Lisa was acting crazy — she even took Emma. Mac suggested, "Lisa is doing an excellent job of making you look disturbed and dangerous."
Brook Lynn told Carly that she broke up Dante and Lulu by letting Lulu catch them together, and asked to be paid. Carly wanted proof before cutting a $50,000 check. Brook moaned that her reputation might be tainted back in the old neighborhood, and if Carly won't pay up, she will tell Dante and Lulu Carly's plan. She doesn't know who she's dealing with, snarled Carly, who didn't fall for Brook's scam. So Brook went to the loft and confessed to Lulu: "Carly is lying to you," she said. When Carly arrived, Lulu asked Carly to look her in the eye and deny Brook's claims. Brook recapped the whole sordid story — and said she couldn't go through with it because Dante is an old friend. Carly confirmed she brought in Brook to seduce Dante.
At Lake Como, Murphy got a call from his agent, who wanted him back on-set. Brenda encouraged him to return. Back in Rome, Brenda wanted to keep the engagement on the down-low for now. He set off for Australia, and Brenda told Suzanne about the engagement. Suzanne wondered if Sonny is completely out of her system. Brenda insisted Sonny is in the past. Suzanne asked if she loves Murphy. Brenda replied that the highs won't be as high, nor the lows as low. At PCPD, Bernie advised Sonny to leave the country ASAP, but Rome is not a good idea. Sonny was adamant. "I gotta end the madness," he declared. Sonny gave Bernie a message for Jason: take care of his children — including Dante. And maybe convince them that he fled in order to protect them. Then Olivia entered the interrogation room, suggesting that the Sonny she grew up with would not shoot an unarmed man; Johnny probably had a gun. Sonny insisted Johnny did, and Olivia chose to believe him. Sonny insisted he only wants peace, but feared for his life. "You're both better men than this," Liv claimed. Dante said he still believes in Sonny. Sonny vowed not shoot any more unarmed men. Olivia suggested not shooting any type of men, but Sonny noted it's too late for that. Sonny recapped about leaving a woman at the altar, and now Robin has run into Brenda. Michael appeared at the station and demanded to talk to his father. "I want you o run," Michael said, because the other inmates all hate him. Sonny told Michael tell his siblings that Sonny loves them — but don't tell Dante they talked. "I'm so proud to be your son," Michael declared and left. Diane entered the room with news that Sonny's arraignment has been moved up.
One of Lopez's thugs stormed the cabin in the woods, and Sam shot him in the back. Jason returned, and then suddenly, Lucky burst through the door, guns blazing! He recapped about Sonny shooting Johnny, and noted that he was tracking Lopez's men until forced to take cover in the cabin. Jason proposed creating a diversion for Lucky to get Sam out. Lucky suggested sitting tight. Then a firebomb came through the window, and everyone stared at it.
Tuesday
In Rome, Brenda was flashing back to the knife attack when Interpol agent Derek Bates knocked on her door to investigate that very attack. He said she's become the target of "a very dangerous individual." No, not Sonny Corinthos — "the Balkan," head of an international crime syndicate. Brenda noted how her work for ASEC has brought unwanted publicity to exploiters of children before. Later, Suzanne scolded Brenda for not being more careful; if she's dead, she can't help ASEC. Suzanne told her to go to London with Murphy, but Brenda refused.
Sonny was brought into night court for arraignment before Judge Hamaad, with Dante in attendance. Sonny pleaded not guilty. When Claire called for no bail, Diane mentioned Claire's improper contact with Sonny. Claire said Sonny asked for it, and she has been a professional. Diane called Dante to the stand, and he testified that Sonny is not a flight risk and loves his kids. Judge Hamaad set bail at $3 million. Dante warned Sonny that Michael told him Sonny doesn't lie to his kids, so Dante was banking on that. Claire flashed back to making out with Sonny, then warned Dante that Sonny hurts the people he loves. Dante went to Sonny's, and found Diane waiting. He realized that Sonny had already skipped town, and called in an APB.
In the wilderness, Lopez's men threw a firebomb into the cabin. As smoke and fire raged, Lucky went out the front door, firing wildly, while Jason carried Sam out the back. Lucky eventually made his way to them — just as the shooting resumed. They moved back toward the house, and realized they were almost surrounded again. This time Jason drew their fire. Later, after shooting died down, the police finally showed up, and Lucky went to handle them.
At G.H., Mac pointed out the only evidence on record are Robin's threats; nothing Lisa did was reported. Mac resolved to write off the car incident as an accident. But Robin refused, noting, "I can't let that bitch so easily off the hook." Mac agreed to keep the case open. Patrick apologized, and Robin sneered that she hates him. Matt visited Lisa, who mentioned concerns about Robin's history with postpartum depression. Later, Robin visited Lisa, to tell her Patrick thinks she's sick and twisted. Outside, Matt asked Patrick if he's sure Lisa is lying. Matt pointed out that no one saw Lisa trash Robin's home or jump in front of her car. Maybe Robin is the one losing it, Matt suggested. Patrick showed up and pulled Robin out of Lisa room. He begged her to stay away because he feared what Lisa would do to their family.
Brook explained to Lulu how Carly hired her to seduce Dante. Carly admitted she did it, "because I love you." She claimed that as Sonny's son, Dante will eventually break Lulu's heart, so Carly wanted to prove what Dante is really like and thereby protect Lulu. "I was wrong," Carly admitted, adding that Dante is nothing like Sonny; he loves Lulu. Brook begged Lulu not to believe Carly, who accused Brook of abusing her trust and her cousin, and told her vacate the hotel — and Port Charles. Lulu was furious at Carly's methods, then casually mentioned that Sonny shot Johnny. On cue, Sonny called Carly — from a jet — and told her Diane is bring something to her from him. Aboard the jet, Sonny flashed back to Brenda telling him to leave town.
Dante returned home and kissed Lulu before they swapped notes about Carly and Sonny. Meanwhile, Carly met Diane at Metro Court. She asked how to get in touch with Sonny, but Diane advised her to let him go. Sonny abruptly diverted his flight to Rome, because, "There's someone I need to see."
Wednesday
Olivia perched at Johnny's bedside, begging, "Please come back to me." He awoke, calling her name. "You're cute when you get scared," he croaked. Liv told him he's been unconscious for over a week, but he'll be okay. He said he remembered Sonny shooting him, then started getting agitated, so Maya checked him out. After Olivia went home to freshen up, Maya returned and told Johnny that Sonny claimed the shooting was self-defense, but the cops think Johnny was unarmed. When Claire questioned him, Johnny said he and Sonny were just talking. Liv returned in time to hear Johnny claim that Sonny simply pulled out a gun and shot him.
Michael summoned Jax to the loft and told him that he cannot follow his parents' dream for his education and career. He wants to drop out of Madison Prep. He's concerned about what he might do to the other students. Jax suggested Port Charles High, but Michael didn't want to go to any school. Jax suggested hiring a tutor to finish his degree. Carly found Alexis and Kristina breakfasting at Kelly's, and told them Sonny skipped the country. Kristina was instantly angry, but Carly pointed out that he couldn't tell her without subjecting her to subpoena. Kristina bemoaned being conflicted: glad he left, but sad he didn't say goodbye. Alexis said Sonny is actually doing the best he can to love her. Carly next visited Michael, to tell him about Sonny. Michael confessed that he told Sonny to run last night. Sonny had asked him to convey his love to the kids, but Carly pointed out he can't tell anyone without proving he violated his parole. They agreed they will miss Sonny. Later, Kristina visited Michael, distraught because she cannot give up on Sonny even though he's the exact opposite of everything she wants in a father. Krissy then worried about returning to school with the gossip machine fully revved about her, and how she can't stand the thought of a guy touching her. She was happy he would be at Madison, too.
Jason brought Sam to G.H., where Claire appeared and demanded that Jason tell her where Sonny went. Steve took Sam away for treatment, and Claire demanded Jason pay her back for getting him out of Pentonville. Steve told Nikolas that Elizabeth is settled in Palo Alto, Calif. Nik admitted setting it up as the best way to let Liz go. Meanwhile, Jason was sure Sonny shot Johnny only in self-defense, but Claire insisted Sonny acted in rage. Then Steve reported that Sam has a soft-tissue injury and has to stay off her feet. At the hub, Nikolas listened to Robin vent about Patrick cheating. Nik suggested that just because someone cheats doesn't mean they don't love the person they cheated on. Later, Diane burst into the penthouse demanding to know why Sonny's plane was diverted to Rome. Jason said, "Brenda lives in Rome." Jason said seeing Brenda is worst move Sonny could make. Then Carly arrived, demanding to know, "Where's Sonny?"
At Crimson, Lulu was cheerful now that Brook Lynn is out of her life. At the Quartermaine mansion, Maya was on her way out when she ran into Brook, suitcase in hand, saying she made a mistake and is looking to return to "my family." Edward invited her in, but Tracy was suspicious. Brook called Tracy "Granny," and admitted she had a falling-out with Carly because she couldn't go through with breaking up Dante and Lulu. Edward invited her to stay, but Tracy insisted Brook must go back to school; Brook agreed. Edward went to check on Brook's room. Brook grabbed his cell phone and tried to do a wire transfer of $50,000 — but Tracy busted her. Edward said she can keep the cash if she agrees to live under Q house rules. Brook wasn't having that, and left. Nik found her wandering in the rain outside Kelly's, and took her home.
Thursday
Johnny told Claire that he was unarmed when Sonny shot him. Olivia urged him not to lie about the shooting, noting that Sonny told her a different version of events. Johnny was disappointed that she took Sonny's side, and told her not to bother coming back. Claire asked about Johnny being at Kelly's before going to Baker Street on his way home. She was skeptical that he wasn't carrying a gun. And why would he want a truce? Johnny said he didn't want Sonny's kids to become collateral damage. She was suspicious that he was so confident in his story. Later, Michael visited to remind Johnny that he owes Michael for saving him. Michael demanded that he tell the truth about whether he had a gun.
Kristina noted that she and Michael can be outcasts at Madison Prep — and lean on each other. When Dante returned, he pronounced Sonny "guilty as sin," but noted Sonny does love them. Kristina said sometimes you actually have to be there for your kids. Krissy was happy Sonny left, but Michael and Dante tried to convince her not to give up on their dad. Later, Lulu came home, and Dante admitted he can't let the investigation go. He doesn't know whether Sonny ran because he's guilty or really is being railroaded. He resolved to find a witness who saw him unarmed. Or armed. Whatever — he just wants the truth.
Nikolas brought Brook Lynn to Wyndemere, for tea and a hot bath. She was suspicious, but accepted. Later, she told him Carly screwed her over. Brook made trying to break up Dante and Lulu by sleeping with him sound like any other summer job. When it didn't work out, Carly pulled the plug and left Brook penniless. But Nik has a job for her: "I'll pay you to be my date for the weekend." She insisted she's not a hooker; he explained he just needs a companion for a house party.
Jason tried to resist telling Carly where Sonny went, but she wore him down. "I think he went to find Brenda," he said. Carly was furious that Sonny ran out on all four of his kids to chase after "spoiled" Brenda, "his favorite little toy." She said Sonny will be happy until things fall apart again, because Brenda is "just as crazy as" Sonny. Carly wanted to intervene, but Jason made her promise not to do anything. She stormed out. Then Sam hobbled down the stairs, and he told her about Rome, noting, "he's not smart when it comes to Brenda," and they always end up hurting each other. Sonny arrived in Rome, staying in a villa owned by old pal Tino Coppola. Sonny saw Brenda's photo in a magazine and flashed back to calling her "the most perfect woman in the world." Tino's assistant told Sonny that Brenda is at Hotel Paradiso — and mentioned that Tino is concerned that Sonny not cause trouble with the Balkan. Sonny assured him he is on personal business. Meanwhile, Suzanne scolded Brenda for going shopping while the Balkan is targeting her. Suzanne suggested going back to the States, but Brenda balked at returning to Port Charles, because she has resolved to live her own life and be happy. Suzanne was satisfied when Brenda agreed to be more careful. Alone, Brenda contemplated Sonny's e-mail address. She flashed back to a fight with Sonny — or rather, shouting at him and breaking stuff and cutting her own hair — over being more than just a pretty face. She was interrupted by a call from somebody she very much wanted to see. Outside, Sonny sat at a cafe, with a view of Brenda's hotel. Back in Port Charles, Carly met Jax at Kelly's because it was a special place for him and Brenda, and she indicated that Sonny has gone to Rome. Jax lamented being in the middle of Sonny and Brenda drama. Carly asked if he wanted to fly to Rome to save her from Sonny again. In the Eternal City, Sonny dropped his magazine just as Brenda came out of the hotel and looked around...
Friday
In Rome, Brenda spotted the guy she was looking for: Murphy. Meanwhile, a charming local lady chatted up Sonny, distracting him. Sonny recapped his relationship with Brenda for the woman: "We tried, we failed, we tried," but they could never quite get it right. Sonny also talked about Stone, being force to marry another woman, and how he encouraged Brenda go off on her own. Sonny said he just wants to see Brenda to know if she's happy. As his new companion left, she told him it would be a crime to let true love slip away without fighting for it. In her room, Murphy told Brenda that Suzanne called him about Brenda going out without guards. Brenda was angry that Suzanne was checking up on her. And that Murphy assumed she needed him to look after her. He asked her to come to England with him and she flipped out. She screamed at him and accused him of thinking of her as someone who needs a man to rescue her. He realized that she was projecting her pent-up anger at Sonny. Murphy insisted he didn't deserve to be blamed for what other guys did. Brenda bristled at the idea of knuckling under to a threat from the Balkan or anyone, and if Murphy doesn't like it, he can leave. So he left. She chased after him. Elsewhere, two men examined a photo of Brenda and Murphy. "This is the woman we're looking for," said one guy.
Back in Port Charles, Lucky ordered Michael to leave Johnny alone; if anything happens o Johnny it will look like attempted murder, and Michael goes back to Pentonville. Michael left. Lucky asked, if Sonny and the Lopezes were gunning for Johnny, why was he unarmed? "How would you like a new job?" Johnny replied. Lucky was wary of being bribed, but Johnny just wand him to quit and come work for him. Lucky went to the loft and told Lulu about Johnny's offer -- and confessed he was tempted. "I'm restless," he admitted. Police work is frustrating him. He's envious of Johnny and Sonny for the "rhythm and creativity" of being an outlaw. He and his father used to run scams (but only on people who deserved it), and he misses it. He promised to tell her if he makes a decision.
Robin demanded some lab results and left to check on them, leaving a beaker bubbling. Meanwhile, Patrick consulted with a new orthopedic surgeon for a case. After Patrick went to prep, Lisa came over and told the doc that another patient's mother is accusing him of shoddy work, and she's willing to take the operation so he can deal with the woman. Later, Lisa eavesdropped as Robin apologized for her personal problems affecting the job; he was only concerned about compromising patient care. When Robin returned to her office, she found Emma's favorite toy, Tubby Puppy, boiling in the beaker.
At Kelly's, Jax called Carly his standard-bearer; noting that no other woman would ever match up to her. But she was still jealous of Brenda, which distressed Jax. He mentioned michael doesn't want to return to Madison, and Jax agrees, but will defer to Carly's decision. At the penthouse, Jason told Sam how needy Brenda was. Later, Dante came by and challenged Jason to prove his conviction that Sonny didn't shoot an unarmed Johnny. Then Carly burst in, babbling wildly about where Sonny went -- before she noticed Dante was in the room!
Kristina and a girlfriend from Port Charles High lounged at the country club. When Michael came over, Kristina asked him to talk her out of transferring to PC High because of all the grief Sonny has caused. He confessed he is pondering dripping out himself. Kristina's pretty pal tried to drag Michael into a playful water fight, but he violently recoiled in horror from her touch.
As the hit men prepared to strike, Sonny waited at the cafe, and Murphy stomped through the street -- until the thugs grabbed him! There was a struggle, and a gun went off. The sound attracted attention. Brenda turned to see Sonny -- and they smiled at each other.
