General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of August 9, 2010

Monday

On the docks, Sonny mistakes Claire for Brenda on the docks, then invites her back to his place. Once there, it begins to rain. Claire asks Sonny about the name he called out on the docks. Sonny opens up and tells Claire of his history with Brenda. In an attempt to shove Brenda out of his mind, Sonny kisses Claire.

At GH, Elizabeth meets Shirley's snarky daughter Marny, who badmouths her late mother. An emotional Elizabeth defends Shirley and explains that Shirley expressed regret for her estrangement with her daughter and ex-husband. Marny was touched and saw her mother in a new light, thanks to Liz's words.

After Johnny was arrested for the murder of Tomas Lopez, he was brought into the PCPD where he was held for questioning. Johnny accused Dante of again compromising himself to protect Sonny by allowing Johnny to be framed for the crime. Afterward, Olivia learned of Johnny's arrest and begged him to give up his vendetta against Sonny. Johnny warned her that the honest, earnest Dante she remembers has changed. Olivia refused to listen to Johnny anymore and bolted out of the interrogation room, nearly colliding with Judge Carroll. The judge saw Johnny being held and asked him what he was charged with. Johnny informed Judge Carroll that Sonny set him up. He also informed the judge that Claire Walsh has compromised herself with her "friendship" with Sonny. Judge Carroll swore he'd have her career and her head on a platter if Johnny's claims were true.

After Carly ordered Brook Lynn to step up her plan, Brook purposefully got drenched in the rain and arrived shivering at Dante's, claiming her hot water was out. She then took a shower to warm up and stayed for a glass of wine.

In Oregon, Lucky appealed to Karen as a mother and asked her to return baby Aiden to his real family. Lucky passed himself off convincingly as Aiden's pop, and Karen believed him and allowed him to take the child. On the plane home, a stewardess told Lucky that his son his a beautiful baby and Lucky did not correct her. Alone, Lucky told Aiden that he wished he was his father. Back in Port Charles, Elizabeth and Nikolas sat down with Spencer, Cameron and Jake to tell them why they didn't bring their new baby brother home. Just as they told the boys that Aiden was missing, Lucky came in holding the baby. A tearful Elizabeth took the child from his arms, and Nikolas thanked his brother. As the family bonded, a despondent Lucky slipped out.

Tuesday

Today's episode was pre-empted for a GH Brenda marathon.

Wednesday

In Italy, a brunette sat at a makeup table while flustered stylists fluttered around her. The brunette was nervous, as her hands were shaking. An attendant popped his head in and said, "Ten minutes." Shortly after, the brunette, now dressed in a gown, was escorted out and down a darkened hallway. Just as she was about to walk onto a stage, a man with a knife went after the brunette, but security captured the assailant. The brunette was introduced ... Brenda Barrett!

At Casa de Corinthos, Sonny pulled Claire into a kiss, and she asked if he wanted to go upstairs and make a baby. Sonny insisted that Claire did not want to have a child with him, and told Claire to just admit that she was attracted to him. He then suggested that Claire may want to stop trying to bust him. "There are other gangsters you could prosecute besides me,"he pointed out. Sonny suggested they just sleep together but she said no baby, no way. Claire then kissed Sonny and left.

Maxie ran into Lucky in a rain storm down on the docks and dragged him into Jake's to warm up. Maxie asked Lucky why he was standing alone in the rain. Lucky confided that he found Elizabeth's baby, and part of him wished the child was his. Matt showed up and asked if Maxie wanted to join him. She said she couldn't, since she was with Lucky and her friend was having a bad night. "He's not the only one,"Matt mumbled. Matt recovered and then asked her out for the next night. Maxie happily agreed and Matt headed out. Maxie then returned to Lucky and counseled him.

At Metro Court, Carly called Michael after he disappeared during their meal. Carly was worried, and she asked Lulu if Michael had said anything to her. Lulu replied that he had not and assured her Michael was doing well living with Dante. When Lulu stated Carly should be grateful for Dante's help, Carly fantasized about grabbing Lulu by the hair and threatening her. Carly snapped out of it, and mentioned that she hoped that Dante never cheats on Lulu.

At the loft, a robe-clad Brook Lynn flirted with Dante and pulled him into a kiss. Dante pulled himself away and told Brook that while any guy would be lucky to be with her, he was not that guy. Brook acted hurt, then Michael walked in. Michael apologized and both Dante and Brook insisted he didn't interrupt anything. Brook quickly left. Dante said nothing happened and asked his brother not to mention anything to Lulu. Just then, Lulu entered. She told Michael to call his mother. Michael smiled and exited, and Dante pulled his girlfriend into a kiss.

An angry Olivia blew into Jake's and demanded a drink. Coleman was happy to oblige. Olivia vented that she was tired of being caught in the middle between Sonny and Johnny.

At the lake house, Kristina gently told Alexis that she need not be so overprotective. Alexis was concerned about Taylor but Krissy assured her mom that her new study partner was a nice boy. Taylor arrived, ready to tackle the War of 1812. Kristina told her mother it was okay for her to leave but Alexis said she changed her mind about going out. Kristina insisted that she was fine and ordered her mom to go visit Mac at G.H. Alexis reluctantly complied. The teens began to quiz each other, but when Taylor leaned in for a kiss, Kristina pulled back and things got awkward. Krissy apologized, as did Taylor, who expressed his admiration for the girl and asked if they could remain study partners. Krissy smiled and said yes, but then Taylor said he should go and left. Michael stopped by afterward, and Kristina told her brother that she felt "damaged."

Brook went to Carly and reported that her effort to seduce Dante failed. Brook wanted to give up but Carly refused.

Thursday

Ethan visited Johnny, who was being held at the PCPD. Ethan reported that he
moved some of Johnny's assets to post his bail. Johnny got angry but Ethan
pointed out that it would keep him from jumping bail. Ethan then warned
Johnny about retribution from the Lopez family if they truly believed Johnny
killed one of their own.

At the loft, Lulu and Dante basked in the afterglow of lovemaking. After
they dressed, Lulu left just as Olivia dropped in to offer some motherly
advice. Dante's eyes widened when Olivia brought up the M word — marriage.
Dante retaliated by asking if Liv was ready to become a grandmother. "Now you're playing dirty
pool," she claimed. Dante did acknowledge that he loved Lulu and couldn't
imagine being with anyone else. Olivia suggested that he may want to see how
Lulu feels about their situation. Later, Dante awkwardly brought up the
subject with his girl. They expressed their love for each other and stated
that was enough for now. However, Lulu did linger over the possibility,
which made Dante squirm.

Michael was haunted by bad memories when he returned to Pentonville to visit
Jason. There, Michael expressed concern about Carly's intentions toward
Dante, then warned Jason that Johnny was about to start a war. Michael
informed Jason about Johnny being accused of killing Tomas Lopez, and Jason
ordered Michael to stay out if it. Later, Carly came by and Jason asked her
to drop her plan to break up Lulu and Dante. Carly said she couldn't and
vowed to make them pay for Jason and Michael going to prison. Afterward, Sam
came by with a plan to blackmail a judge to get Jason out of Pentonville.

In Rome, Suzanne, the head of ASEC (Alliance to Save Exploited Children)
told Brenda that she was hiring a replacement after the attack on her at the
charity gala the night before. Brenda refused to run and hide. "I don't want
ASEC to be known as the charity that got Brenda Barrett killed," Suzanne
huffed. Later, Suzanne watched as Brenda was named the spokesperson for the
Cartullo Fashion House, a big supporter of ASEC. When asked by the press if
she was attacked the previous night, Brenda lied and said she was not.
Afterward, Suzanne had Brenda moved to a security building. There were
diamonds waiting for Brenda for a movie premiere but she refused to wear
them, stating, "Diamonds are bad luck for me." Brenda then flashed back to
her heartbreak when Sonny left her at the altar.

Mike and Carly caught up at Kelly's, and were joined by Lisa. Patrick was
about to enter when he saw Lisa and turned around. After Lisa left, Patrick
came back and Carly told him he needed to be a little less conspicuous when
it came to Lisa. They sat down and Carly asked if he was sending Lisa mixed
signals. Patrick stated he was not and told Lisa repeatedly that their fling
was over. Carly warned Patrick that Robin may find out on her own and he'd
better do something to neutralize Lisa or else he could have a big problem
on his hands.

At G.H., Steven advised Lisa to be more collaborative and she got snippy and
accused him of a pointless reprimand. She then threatened to slap Steven
with a sexual harassment suit if he gave her any kind of grief in the
workplace. Later, Lisa heard Patrick tell Steven that Robin was in New York
for a few days and she told a nurse that she had to leave work early. She
then went to the Drake's home, let herself in and made herself comfortable.
Patrick was shocked to come home and discover Lisa having a beer and
watching TV.

At Kelly's, Matt and Maxie spoke about their sex romp in the hospital supply
room. Then, Matt brought up her relationship with Lucky. Maxie said she was
in a bad place back then and they've since moved past that and are just
friends. Maxie was miffed at Matt digging into her past. However, she did
acknowledge that while she loved Spinelli, she's not in love with him. Matt
asked if she was sure of that. Maxie stated that she'd like to get to know
Matt better. Matt concurred.

Ethan bumped into Maya in Kelly's and he asked why she was avoiding him. She
ducked the question and went back to the hospital. There, Steven paid Maya a
compliment on her work. Patrick heard and agreed she'll make a fine doctor.
Ethan then showed up and pulled Maya into a kiss.

On the street, Michael confronted Johnny about laying off Sonny when a car
drove by and sprayed the scene with bullets.

Friday

At Kelly's, Claire quizzed Mike about Brenda, just as Sonny walked in. Sonny
sat down and asked Claire to find a legal loophole to get Jason out of
prison. Sonny added that if Claire did this favor for him, he would know he
could trust her. After Claire left, Mike warned his son about getting
involved with a federal prosecutor. Sonny then admitted to his pop that he
was considering contacting Brenda.

In Rome, Brenda recalled the time when Sonny gave her a diamond bracelet.
Suzanne arrived and asked why Brenda wasn't ready for her date with the man
of her dreams and worried that there was
trouble in paradise. Brenda assured her that Murphy was a great guy but she
wasn't in the mood for a fancy function. Suzanne reminded her that ASEC
could use the media attention. Shortly afterward, handsome movie star Murphy
Sinclair showed up and opened the champagne. He admitted that he didn't want
to go to the premiere, either, but was happy Brenda said yes to going with
him. Murphy then asked Brenda about the attack, but she downplayed the issue
and they headed out. Later, the couple returned after ducking out early and
shared some more champagne. They admitted that money and fame were nothing
without someone to share it with. Just then, Murphy proposed to Brenda.

At Pentonville, Jason advised Sam to be patient and not go forward with her
plan to blackmail a judge. Sam stated that she was willing to take the risk
and left. Jason told the guard he needed to make a phone call.

As Michael and Johnny talked on the street, a car sped by and sprayed them
with bullets. After Michael pushed Johnny to safety, Ethan arrived on the
scene and the guys realized the attack was the Lopez family retaliating.
Johnny noted that Sonny's plan was unfolding perfectly.

Patrick was furious to find Lisa waiting for him in his home. He ordered her
to leave but Lisa refused. Patrick lost his cool and Lisa got upset. She
confessed that she was still in love with Patrick and claimed they were
meant for each other. Patrick didn't know what to say. After taking a deep
breath, Patrick declared that the time for them had past. He said he loved his wife
and daughter and wasn't going to leave them. Just then, Maxie showed up and
spotted an emotional Lisa on the couch. Maxie suspected something was going
on. Lisa denied it and left. Afterward, Patrick noticed that Lisa had cut
Robin's face out of his wedding picture.

At the loft, Lulu enjoyed making Dante squirm with marriage talk, and he was
relieved when his cell phone rang. Dante learned of the drive by shooting
and headed out. At the scene, Dante was upset to see Michael there, fearing
that his brother could get tossed back in jail for violating his probation.
They all told Michael to split before the cops arrived, and Ethan claimed he
was the one who saved Johnny. Maya happened on the scene and Ethan told her
the truth about what happened.

Claire went to Ronnie and informed him of a legal loophole in Jason's plea
bargain and that Morgan was going to be released. Ronnie was upset, but
Claire shared with Ronnie that freeing Jason would ensure Sonny's trust.
Ronnie called it a bad idea and stormed out. Claire then made a call about
Jason's release. Later, Sonny visited Jason at Pentonville and said, "You're
coming home." ... Back at the loft, Dante instructed Michael to keep his
mouth shut about the shooting. Just then, Ronnie arrived and said a witness
spotted someone fitting Michael's description at the scene.
