General Hospital Recaps
GH Week of December 11, 2007
Monday
Tracy scolded Luke about not getting the operation, accusing him of being a cowardly quitter. He admitted he doesn't believe in any afterlife, so he's not anxious to give up on this one — but he won't stop living "my way." At Kate's estate, she refused to let Sonny protect her, claiming he's taking away her independence. Alexis interrupted the discussion to threaten Sonny with arrest for trespassing. Kate said she let him in, prompting Alexis and Diane to snipe over the legal issues. Disgusted, Sonny left. Later, Kate went to GH, where she discussed Epiphany's son issues with Cassius, who mentioned that he's a singer. Jerry appeared and advised Kate to dump Sonny to avoid the gang war. Furious, she stormed out. Sonny visited Luke, who mused about life and death. "I never saw this coming," he admitted. Sonny also expected a much more violent death, and noted that operations are a crap shoot. "Fight to live, or choose to die," he shrugged. Tracy chased away Sonny, who got into it with Kate over her talking to Jerry. Lucky visited Luke to urge him to get the bypass. Later, Alexis agreed to have dinner with Jerry — provided he split the check. Still later, Sonny appeared at Kate's place and admitted he wanted to be with her, but she wondered when what she wants will matter to him. Later, Lucinda came to prep a fading Luke for emergency surgery — tonight.
Georgie interrupted the attack on Maxie and revived her sister by shaking her a whole lot. At the police station, Lucky told Ric he was blaming Jason for Emily's death. Mac interrupted with word for Lucky that Maxie had been attacked. After he arrived he comforted his niece. She recounted being attacked from behind. Georgie kind of saw the attacker, but couldn't ID him.
She suggested he might have sent her a text message. Back at PCPD, Ric baited Jason about Emily and now Maxie. He mused about having Sonny's blood literally in his veins, but insisted he still hates Jason for ruining Elizabeth's life. Jason wasn't interested in cooperating with Det. Harper, but Diane put a stop to the interrogation anyway. Harper soon returned to say Maxie was strangled with a phone cord. Later, Harper quizzed Maxie, who didn't see her attacker's face.
Skye told Trevor she can't sell Alcazar's lots. Johnny arrived and insisted on taking over negotiations. Skye said she's not ready to sell. Ric watched as Johnny warned her not to sell to Sonny. Skye stormed out, and Ric confronted his father, accusing Trevor of covering for Johnny. Ric insisted he won't let anyone hurt Skye.
At Kelly's, Georgie refused to take the rest of the day off. When Coop arrived she told him about Maxie's attack. Jason went to Johnny's mansion to compare notes about the attacks on the women. Johnny said he glimpsed the attacker, but his description of "medium-build, brownish hair" was too generic to help. Lucky strolled in (How?) to question Johnny about Maxie's attack.
Tuesday
Monica wanted to operate on Luke immediately, but Tracy wanted to wait for Dr. Julian. Luke decided to get it over with. Lulu arrived to meet Aunt Bobbie, followed by Skye. Lulu set off to find Lucky before the operation.
Nadine was glad not to work O.R. duty tonight because she believed when her elbow itches, someone's about to die. Tracy insisted Luke wait for Dr.
Julian because Monica is "about to implode from grief." Luke proposed a second honeymoon in Las Vegas or Monte Carlo. Later, Bobbie assured Luke that Monica can "absolutely" do the operation — and he can survive it. Then Skye visited to tease him with a sexy whisper. Epiphany told Nadine she has to work the O.R. after all. Tracy confronted Monica, who insisted this isn't the same as Alan's case. Later, Lulu returned with Lucky to visit their father. He told them to take care of each other and their families. "Enjoy the rush," he advised. "Life is a thrill ride."
Strangely, Coop knew that the killer sent a text message, calling him the Text Message Killer. At the police station, Mac asked Maxie to look at a lineup, then summoned Georgie to do the same. At the Zacchara manse, Lucky arrested Johnny for questioning in Emily's death. Later, Coop and Georgie arrived at PCPD. Det. Harper revealed Johnny's violent juvenile record, which prompted Mac to flip and jack him up. Meanwhile, Diane arrived at the penthouse, where Jason asked her to get Johnny released so the cops can chase the real killer. Elsewhere, a minion informed Trevor about Johnny's arrest, but he decided to let the kid stew. Lulu arrived at PCPD to bring Lucky to the hospital. At a lineup with no lawyers present, Mac and Harper egged Maxie to finger Johnny, but she couldn't. Neither could Georgie. Then Maxie remembered the attacker smelled like soap or shaving cream. Coop dropped Maxie and Georgie at Kelly's. Diane turned up at the station to secure Johnny's release. Then Trevor arrived, but Johnny took off without him. At Kelly's, Maxie and Georgie bonded over the trauma. Logan arrived, looking for Lulu. Then Scott arrived, asking him about becoming a cop and his relationship with Lulu. Scott got a call from Bobbie, summoning him to GH. Back at the hospital, Lulu climbed into Luke's recently vacated bed and called out for her mother to help her father. In the O.R., Luke was put under and Monica began the operation — accompanied by Emily!
In the waiting room, Lesley welcomed Scott (and Logan). In the O.R., Monica was so distracted by Emily that she started losing her patient. On the table, Luke suddenly awakened in a white room to see sexy vision of Skye.
Naturally he assumed he was in heaven, but she suggested it was hell. The sound of bells deafened Luke until he suddenly found himself at home as an old man. Georgie went to her car to retrieve her cell. Meanwhile, Maxie got a text reading, "C U soon." Georgie spotted Coop outside, acting strangely.
Back at GH, Johnny was disappointed to see Lulu embracing Logan. At the penthouse, Trevor scolded Jason for springing Johnny. "Wasn't it enough to lose your sister?" he asked. Then he warned Jason he will lose somebody else close to him.
Wednesday
Monica froze during Luke's surgery. Epiphany called for another nurse to find another surgeon to replace her. Dr. Julian arrived and took over the procedure. Luke awoke in "heaven" as an old man who found Skye waiting for him. "Heaven" turned to "hell" when Lulu came downstairs with Logan, their arguing brood of kids, a barking dog and a disco-loving Lesley. Luke begged Skye to get him out of "hell." Skye then showed a scene where Luke was partners with Lucky at the police department and was social buddies with Mac. Skye showed how Scotty was an international tycoon and had hooked up with Tracy. Luke was exasperated by everything he witnessed, and when he didn't the answer she wanted when she asked if he'd do things differently in his life if given the chance, she walked out and left him alone. Luke opened the door to follow her, and stepped into a blinding light.
Sonny instructed Max to supervise their resumed shipments. Kate paid Sonny a visit to finish their conversation. Sonny thought they were already finished. Kate conceded she just wanted to see him again. Sonny opened up and told her he went through a rough patch a while back but got help and therapy and worked his way back. He told her how Kate reentered his life and gave a spark that lit up his life again. Sonny added that he learned he can't live his life in fear of "what ifs" and can only enjoy the present. Kate admitted he made a convincing argument. She said the same goes for her, too — he makes her happy, he provides a spark and he inspires passion in her. The two embraced and began to kiss, then made love. Sonny asked her to come upstairs and spend the rest of the night with him. Kate said she couldn't until he showed that he could respect her wishes. She left.
Trevor issued a warning to Jason and threatened that he would lose someone else, like his sister, if he wasn't careful. Jason lost his temper, threw Trevor onto the desk and pulled his gun on him. Spinelli urged Jason not to shoot. Jason backed down and released Trevor, who told Jason to warn Sonny that Jason just stared "a war." Johnny arrived and asked Jason why he had his lawyer spring him from jail. Jason said he only wants a truce because he doesn't believe Johnny killed his sister. However, Jason warned Johnny "not to confuse kindness with weakness." Trevor returned home and ordered a strike on Sonny's operation in retaliation.
In Luke's hospital room, Logan comforted Lulu about her dad's surgery as Johnny eavesdropped outside. Logan and Lulu then joined everyone in the waiting room. There, Tracy exploded at Scott for joining them while they waited for Luke to come out of surgery. Bobbie admonished Tracy for not being fair. Monica appeared and said, "I'm sorry." As everyone looked on in horror, she revealed that Dr. Julian stepped in for the surgery because she froze during the operation when she saw Emily's face everywhere and lost focus. Monica assured Lulu that Dr. Julian was doing everything he could to save her father. Bobbie offered her support to Monica, while Tracy told Monica not to speak to her. Monica warned Lulu that when Dr. Julian took over Luke was slipping away. In the OR, Luke rallied. Luke came to in the recovery room, and saw Skye and Tracy at his bedside. "I've been to hell and back," he quipped.
At Kelly's, Maxie received flowers from Coop, and thanked him for them. Coop said he was sorry he wasn't there to protect her. Maxie showed Coop and Georgie the latest text message she got from the killer. Georgie went to Spinelli for help in trying to trace the text message. Georgie asked Spinelli if he could try to see if Coop may be the culprit. "I'm afraid my sister's in love with the man who's trying to kill her," she warned. Maxie told Coop she didn't want to be alone for the night. Coop told her he was going to ask her to stay anyway, and the two ran upstairs to his room.
Jason visited Sonny and told him about Trevor's visit. Sonny was upset that Jason didn't kill Trevor when he had the chance. Johnny returned home and asked Trevor why he wasn't the one who to bail him out of jail. Trevor told Johnny he made a truce with Sonny via Jason. Trevor shocked Johnny by telling him it was too late now, the war has begun. Max returned with a flesh wound on his arm to tell Sonny that their shipment had been attacked and was destroyed, and some of their men were killed and injured. "It's war," Sonny concluded.
Thursday
Maxie said her brush with death has made her want to be nicer, so she wanted to be friends with Spinelli. She invited him and Georgie to join her and Coop for skiing in Vermont. He declined. Georgie insisted Maxie not go, either, because she thinks Coop tried to kill Maxie. She asked her sister what she really knows about Coop, prompting Maxie to flash back to his exploits as "Three." Elsewhere, Lulu brought Logan waffles, then mused about her relationship with her father — which amounted to ice-fishing. She admitted liking opening up to him, so they embraced again. He was grateful to get a second chance with her. Later, Maxie brought Sam a dress she had altered, and mentioned she's back with Coop. Oh, and she was almost killed. Sam invited her and Coop to spend the night at her place tomorrow for a romantic dinner and time in the hot tub. Maxie accepted.
Lucky told Sam that Johnny ordered Sonny's shipment hijacked, and suggested she hire a bodyguard. She suggested Lucky move in with her, pointing out the advantages of living together. He wondered if she was still trying to get back at Elizabeth, but Sam insisted she was sincere. "I care about you, Sam," he said, and they smooched until he got a call to pick up a suspect. At the coffeehouse, Sonny and Jason discussed setting up Johnny. Meanwhile, at the not-so nearby Zacchara estate on the Hudson River, Trevor told Johnny the hijacking was a message for Sonny, but Johnny saw Trevor's gambit as a threat to his authority. Johnny wanted a truce, but Trevor wanted to take out Sonny first, calling PC "the gateway to the Northeastern corridor" (seriously!). Johnny wanted to share profits from the docks with Sonny (seriously!), but Trevor laughed. Suddenly, Lucky strolled in, all the way from PC, to bring Johnny in for questioning. Back in PC, Det. Harper came to the cafe to bring Jason downtown for questioning. Then Alexis arrived to lecture Sonny about private property and serve him with a restraining order, which Sonny laughed off. Harper asked Jason if he got Johnny sprung just so he could kill him himself. When Jason clammed up Harper let him go. In the squad room, Jason saw that Lucky had hauled Johnny across the state in record time. In the interrogation room, Lucky needled Johnny about starting a mob war. Meanwhile, Lulu traveled across the state to the Zacchara estate, to thank Johnny for giving her a lift, but she found Trevor instead. Trevor said Johnny had been hanging around GH, which surprised Lulu. Trevor further told her Johnny is being questioned about a triple homicide. Back in PC, Logan went to Kelly's, looking for Lulu. Georgie told him she was willing to forgive him for hurting Lulu — and she wanted background info on Coop. Logan called him "strong, fearless" and obsessive about finishing whatever he sets out to do. After apparently hopping a jet, Lulu visited the coffeehouse, where she told Sonny that Johnny had nothing to do with the hit at the docks. Sonny noted that Johnny must deal with the consequences of choosing life in the mob. Georgie went to the penthouse and made Spinelli dig up Coop's military record, which revealed commendations and special-forces training. Georgie figured that was good training for killing women. Outside Kelly's, Cruz spotted Coop texting, but figured it was just "sex talk." Cruz warned him that even deleted texts are never really gone. Coop asked Cruz not to tell Maxie he wasn't at work.
Lucky asked Johnny where he was last night. When Johnny said GH, Lucky guessed why, and warned him to stay away from his sister. At GH, Lulu was given a note reading: "Meet me tomorrow 7 p.m. Pier 52." When she ran into Logan, he invited her to dinner tomorrow, but she claimed she would be babysitting for Liz. At Crimson Point, Trevor revealed he faked the letter to Lulu and another to Johnny that would send them both to Pier 52 tomorrow night. He ordered his lackey to "spare the kid but kill the girl. And make it look like Corinthos ordered it."
Friday
Johnny confronted Trevor for ordering the ambush; Johnny would never have agreed to it. He told Trevor he was setting up a meeting with Sonny. Trevor warned him not to be naïve — Sonny didn't have his best interests at heart. He warned him he wasn't going away and that Johnny would need to get used to it. One of his men brought Johnny a note from "Jason," saying they needed to meet at Pier 52. He left. Meanwhile, Lulu waited at the pier, where Logan found her. Lulu made up an excuse for being there. Logan told her he just wanted her to be safe, and that if she cared about him, she wouldn't be standing around alone on the docks. Lulu got annoyed and walked off.
Sonny pointed out that the Zaccharas were responsible for the shootings.
Jason asked how he wanted to handle it. Sonny wanted to give Johnny the chance to make it right. Jason thought Johnny would be willing to make a deal. Sonny told him to clean out one of their warehouses, but not to kill him. Max let Kate in, and Jason left. Sonny asked if she knew what Alexis was up to. Kate said she had no idea she'd gone that far, but she wouldn't be taking it back. The injunction wouldn't be removed until Sonny removed his security. Sonny told her he didn't want to lose her, and she needed to be protected. He got a call from Trevor, asking him to meet. Sonny said he'd be there, and told Kate he had to go. He asked if he could see her tomorrow. She said no and left after they exchanged "I love you"s. At Metro Court, Trevor told a man to get a sniper and ordered him to take out Sonny as soon as he had a clear shot.
Spinelli told Georgie he hadn't found any evidence yet that something was up with Coop. She told him she needed to find something soon so she could convince Maxie before Coop killed again.
He found a military file on a woman that was strangled in Iraq while Coop was there. After Georgie left, Jason came in and asked Spinelli to get info on the Zacchara warehouses. Spinelli told him he was doing research for Georgie. Jason told him Georgie was just interested in him. Spinelli was completely taken aback. He recovered and told Jason what he'd found out about Coop — he thought he was the text message killer. Jason pointed out that anyone could have strangled the woman, but Spinelli told him about all of the other clues they had. Jason asked him to hack into Coop's phone records. He was able to find out from the PC police records that Coop wasn't working the day Leticia was murdered. Jason said if it was Coop he'd been looking at it all wrong. He'd assumed the killer had motive. Spinelli went back to their conversation about Georgie, and asked if Jason meant Georgie liked him. Spinelli got all smiley thinking of Georgie choosing him.
Maxie told Coop that Sam was letting them use her apartment for a night to themselves. She told him how glad she was that they were working things out.
Georgie interrupted and asked to speak to Maxie alone. Coop left them, and Georgie told her she found out that a woman had been strangled near where Coop was stationed in Iraq. Maxie angrily insisted it wasn't Coop. After Georgie left, Logan and Lulu walked for coffee, and Georgie told them Maxie and Coop had just been there and they'd been talking about Iraq and all the soldiers that had died. She brought up the woman that had been strangled, and asked if Logan had heard about it. Logan said he hadn't, and Georgie tried to continue the conversation, but Lulu cut her off and asked if they could talk about something else. Johnny walked in, and asked for coffee to go. Logan suggested next time he go to a different coffee place. After he left, Lulu angrily asked why he had to do that, and they continued to argue about Johnny. Lulu said she was keeping her distance from him. Logan backed down and asked if he could give her a ride to Elizabeth's, but Lulu said she needed to stay and help Georgie.
Lucky went by Sam's, and told her he was thinking about her offer to move in. She apologized for blurting it out. He told her he thought it would be a great idea for them to move in together. Even though it had begun as maybe just a fling, what they had had turned into much more. She asked what them moving in together would mean for Cam and Jake. He said he wanted them to get to know her, since she was going to be part of his life. Lucky got a call and had to leave, but not before telling her how much he liked the idea. She asked when, and he said soon. Maxie showed up shortly after, and Sam gave her a pep talk. Maxie thanked her for her support, and Sam left. Outside, she talked on the phone as she walked through the park, and hung up after hearing a strange noise. She didn't see anything, but she hurried away.
Sonny met Trevor, and Trevor asked that he receive his offer with respect.
He blamed the shooting on Johnny, and said Johnny lived on the edge. Sonny asked if Trevor was suggesting he take Johnny out, and Trevor said he would take care of him if Sonny would back off. Just then, a sniper took aim and fired.
After Logan left, Lulu told Georgie she had to be somewhere else and asked her not to tell Logan. Georgie got a text saying, "Tell your sister to meet me in the park." She went to the park herself, where she was frightened by a noise in the bushes. At the apartment, Maxie set up, making the atmosphere as romantic as possible. Coop sent a text before leaving his place. At Sam's, Maxie was soaking in the hot tub when a figure appeared behind her, unnoticed. Lulu meanwhile, rushed back to the docks where she heard footsteps coming toward her. Jason checked out Coop's room and grabbed his gun when he heard someone at the door.
