GH Week of February 9, 2009
Monday
At Claudia's bedside, Trevor chuckled about manipulating Sonny into murdering Anthony. He then revealed the missing sphere of biotoxin to his captive. Just then, Carly entered and saw Trevor with the poison.... Jason burst into the chapel and pleaded with Sonny not to kill Anthony. An agitated Sonny reluctantly honored Jason's request and conked Anthony on the head instead.... Nikolas finally located the mystery woman, whose resemblance to Emily left him speechless.... Robin, Maxie, Johnny and Emma arrived at G.H., only to learn from Jax that it was quarantined.... In the O.R., the feds sealed the biotoxin but Spinelli realized that the air was filled with gas. Recognizing a spark about to ignite, Spinelli whisked Winifred out of the room just before it exploded.
After the explosion....
On the ground floor, Epiphany told Lucky that she needed help evacuating the hospital but he insisted on checking on Elizabeth first. Lucky took the stairs up but couldn't get past the 9th floor.
In the chapel, Sonny told Jason that Anthony was now his responsibility and split. Jason carried Anthony to an empty hospital room and handcuffed him to the bed. Anthony came to and smelled smoke. Jason said he'd come back for Anthony before the fire got too close.
In the trailer, Jax and Robin met with Agent Rayner, who called Patrick to find out about the blast. Patrick said he was going to check on it and hung up. Robin was frantic. As everyone fought, Maxie pointed out that Emma needed medical attention. Robin asked Maxie and Johnny to take the baby to Mercy while she stayed behind to help. Maxie was surprised but complied.
At Jake's, Ethan regaled Luke with tales of his misspent youth in Australia and how he arrived in Port Charles. Luke wasn't buying Ethan's story about stumbling upon The Haunted Star by accident, especially since he'd coincidentally run into Holly in Australia just before coming to the States. As they downed shots, Luke caught Ethan dumping the booze and added to the amount that the grifter owes Spencer as repayment for his attempted hustle. Ethan started to lose his cool.
Spinelli whisked a grateful Winifred to safety and she wept as she thanked him for saving her life.... Sam and Lulu raced to the 10th floor to check out the damage and found Jason. They all agreed they needed to find Spinelli. Just then, the trio crossed paths with Spinelli and Winifred, where they briefed them on the explosion and fire. The group then divvied up responsibilities and parted.
When Olivia wanted to go get some answers, Kate asked her to keep an eye out for the DVD. Olivia was dumfounded at the request but Kate was adamant and refused to reveal what was on the DVD to anyone other than Sonny.
Carly begged Trevor to be careful with the poison but he insisted that the sphere was his ticket out. Trevor bid Claudia a hateful adieu and took off. "He's crazy," stated Carly. Claudia retorted that Carly needed to get that poison back from Trevor before more people died. Carly ran into Sonny and told him about Trevor and the poison. Sonny took off to locate the looney Lansing. Carly returned to Claudia and helped her evacuate. Claudia noted the irony in that.
On their way to Mercy, Maxie thanked Johnny for his help but admitted she missed Spinelli.... Jax and Robin busted into the hospital to start evacuating G.H. Epiphany told Robin she was really glad she was here.
Alone, Elizabeth woke up distraught. Rebecca entered and told a shocked Liz that she'd get help. Nikolas found Liz and said they needed to evacuate. Liz replied that they needed to find the woman who was just there. Meanwhile, Rebecca reached a dead end hall that was ablaze. As she turned to run, part of the roof collapsed and she fell and hit her head.
Robin got a hold of Patrick and informed him that she was there and Emma was safe at Mercy with Maxie. Epiphany thanked Robin but advised her to go to Mercy to check on Emma.... At Mercy Hospital, Johnny didn't hesitate to use his family name in order to get Emma immediate medical attention. A doctor examined the baby and diagnosed Emma with pneumonia, stating that she was in critical condition.
Trevor located a handcuffed Anthony, who demanded his freedom. Trevor nearly choked Anthony, then left. Later, Sonny found Trevor and held him at gunpoint. Trevor threatened to expose the poison. Sonny put his gun down as Trevor walked away. Afterward, Sonny found the handcuffed Anthony. Sonny turned down Anthony's pleas for assistance. Later, Sonny located Trevor again. "Do it!" Trevor shouted. "You'll punch your ticket and everybody else's." Just as Sonny was about to shoot Trevor, the fire reached the oxygen supply closet and another explosion ensued.
Tuesday
Sonny lost sight of Trevor after the oxygen storage closet exploded, then caught up with Jason and informed him that Trevor's carrying the missing poison sphere.
Lulu sat with Tracy while waiting to be evacuated. Tracy tried to get Lulu to go without her but Lulu refused to leave Tracy's side.... Jax was desperate to find Carly but Epiphany insisted that he help evacuate patients.... Patrick chastised Matt for trying to care for patients in his weakened condition.
Nikolas found Edward pushing Monica in a wheelchair and he led them to safety. Edward remarked that he originally thought Emily was too good for Nikolas, but Nik has proven himself over the years. Nikolas mentioned that Em had been on his mind all day. Nikolas then went and found Tracy and relayed that she was okay. Edward went to check on his daughter while Nik sat with Monica. They talked about their love for Em. Nadine walked by and overheard the conversation.
While waiting for instructions, Claudia and Kate made a game of pushing each other's buttons. Olivia told Kate to shut her trap about the missing DVD and said there were more important things to worry about. Carly applauded Olivia for putting Kate in her place. Just then, Sonny arrived and realized that all the women he's been with were gathered together. "How's that for awkward?" Olivia sniped. Claudia dropped her gaze and noticed the missing
DVD on the floor, underneath a table. Sonny took Kate and Olivia to safety, while Carly waited with Claudia. Claudia told Carly to save herself, then tried to get the DVD without being seen but Carly wondered why Claudia was being so nice and figured that she was up to something. She gave in to Claudia's request and left.
Jason told Sam that he believed that he and Sonny were getting back on the same page again.
Spinelli told Patrick that he's established an e-mail link to Mac. Patrick told Spinelli to request an air rescue from the roof but Spinelli was concerned that the blizzard conditions wouldn't allow such a rescue. Once alone, Winifred confessed to Spinelli that she was petrified and asked how she could be more calm and confident like The Jackal. Spinelli was touched by her adoration.
Edward found Tracy and was thrilled that she was ornery, because that meant she was feeling better. Lulu went and sat with Liz. There, Liz told Lulu that if anything happens to her, Lucky will need help raising the boys. Lulu refused to listen to such talk. Patrick arrived and informed the detainees that Mac was working on a rescue plan and firemen were clearing the stairwells. Matt praised his brother for his heroic efforts.
While Jason was checking for casualties, he found Emily look-alike Rebecca, who was unconscious. Jason was stunned but pulled her out of harm's way when the ceiling collapsed. Jason carried her to safety and Rebecca regained consciousness. Jason told Rebecca that she's a dead ringer for his deceased sister. Sam found them and also couldn't get over the resemblance. Sam escorted Rebecca to a safe area, where they ran into Monica and Edward. "Emily?" Monica asked. "Good God," remarked Edward.
Sonny got Kate and Olivia to safety and went to go back for the others. Kate insisted that she needed to talk to him but Sonny said he needed to rescue the others. Sonny bumped into Carly, who informed him that Claudia was waiting to be rescued. Meanwhile, Claudia fell out of her wheelchair and managed to get to the DVD. Sonny arrived but Claudia was able to keep it out of sight.
Jax went to Mac and demanded to be allowed to assist with the helicopter rescue. Inside G.H., Spinelli informed Carly of Jax's plan. She was frantic. Carly and Spinelli ran to the roof and saw Jax trying to land, but a gust of wind made it appear that a crash was imminent.
Wednesday
While waiting to be evacuated, Kate told Olivia that once the crisis as passed,
she and Sonny would finally be together. Olivia replied that Kate needed to
wake up and pointed out that during the crisis, Sonny was staying by his
wife's side, not hers. After Sonny left, Claudia was unaware that she
dropped the DVD. Kate spotted it and had Olivia pick it up. Olivia complied
but took the DVD and left the room. Kate was furious and Claudia cackled.
Olivia threw the DVD into the fire, stating it was for Kate's own good.
After Monica and Edward spotted the Emily look-alike, Rebecca, Monica fainted.
Meanwhile, as they put out a fire in the stairwell, Jason and Nikolas
compared notes on Rebecca. As Nik rejoined the Qs, Monica woke up, unable
to believe the resemblance between Emily and the mystery woman. Nikolas
asked the Qs if Emily could have had a sister, to which they said that was
not a possibility.
On the hospital roof, Carly screamed as Jax tried to land a helicopter
during the blizzard. On the ground, Alexis burst into the police trailer to
ask Mac who was crazy enough to try and land a copter in a storm. She wasn't
happy to learn it was Jax. The helicopter crash landed in the
GH parking lot. On the roof, Carly was frantic. Spinelli dragged her inside
and they tried getting info on the crash via the Internet. No survivors had
been reported. Shortly after, Spinelli and Winifred lost their computer
signals.
Robin assisted in evacuating babies from the nursery. As Robin held an
infant in her arms, she started to cry while thinking of Emma. At Mercy,
Maxie wondered aloud to Johnny about why Robin was acting so distant from
Emma. The doctor told them that they have two choices in treating Emma.
Maxie came clean and said that Emma was not their daughter. I need a parent
here to make some choices. Fast!' the doc exclaimed. Maxie said she'd call
Robin and Johnny took off to retrieve her. Maxie prayed for Emma, Robin and
Patrick's safe reunion. The doctor returned to say that Emma wasn't
responding to medication.
Matt and Nadine spoke about losing Leyla.... An ailing Tracy told Lulu that
it's still possible that Luke might come to their rescue. Lulu, however,
didn't see that as a possibility.
Jax entered the police trailer none the worse for wear, much to Alexis's
relief. Jax wanted to get another chopper to try it again. Mac considered it
and reluctantly gave the go-ahead to use a police helicopter. Alexis,
however, pulled rank as D.A. and forbid it. Jax pleaded with his pal to let
him try again and Alexis caved.
At Jake's, Luke continued to school Ethan in the ways of the world over a
game of pool. Once again, they discussed Holly. Just then, a man and woman
came in from the storm and pointed a gun at the men. The woman claimed that
Luke and Ethan stole her money, then she took a wad of cash from Ethan's
jacket and claimed it was hers. Luke faked a heart attack and Ethan hit the
man over the head with a bottle and knocked him out. They then found out
after that the man is a sheriff.
As Patrick and the others planned a rooftop evacuation, Carly went to Lucky
to see if she could make it down the same stairwell. As the fire spread,
Jason went back for Anthony, whom he'd left tied to a hospital bed. Spinelli
and Winnie got their signal back. Rayner ordered Winifred to be on the first
copter out.
Jax successfully landed the chopper on the hospital roof. The gang was
thrilled to see that Jax was okay. He began to evacuate the captives....
Jason returned to Anthony's room, which was now empty.... Sonny found Carly
but the roof collapsed on them.
Thursday
Claudia ran into Trevor in the stairwell. He bet her that he'd survive and she wouldn't. Claudia insisted that she was a survivor but Trevor continued to taunt her. He called her love for Johnny unnatural and when she lunged at him, Trevor tossed her down the stairs. He pointed out that if he'd dropped the poison, they both could have died. Trevor then left an injured Claudia behind in the stairwell.
At Mercy, Maxie tried to calm a crying Emma. Johnny arrived with Robin, to Maxie's great relief. Maxie handed Emma to Robin. She hesitantly took her baby in her arms. Robin laid down with Emma, saying, "It's okay, baby." As Robin pondered Emma's course of treatment, Maxie fretted after Johnny informed her that Spinelli was still trapped in the burning hospital. Robin asked Maxie to go back to G.H. to get Patrick, then rocked her baby girl to sleep. Robin then told a sleeping Emma the story of how she and Patrick met. The doctor retuned to examine Emma and warned if there was no change, Robin would have to choose a course of action.
After Nikolas told Rebecca about her resemblance to Emily, she barked at him to back off. She said she understands that he and Em's family are grieving but insisted it has nothing to do with her. When he started asking personal questions, Rebecca told him that her life was none of his business and took off.
After beating up the sheriff in yesterday's episode, Luke and Ethan wound up being cellmates. After betting for crackers, Luke decided that he'd had enough and called a guard to try and schmooze his way out of jail. Luke offered to comp the cop at The Haunted Star. Then, the cop pointed out that the sheriff they assaulted was his brother. Ethan chuckled at Luke's failure. Then, the girl who accused Ethan of robbing her returned. Ethan sweet-talked her into trying to distract the guard so they could escape. Luke applauded his cellmate on his efforts. However, the gal was discovered after she lifted the guard's key and she was escorted out.
On the roof, Patrick supervised the evacuation. Tracy, Edward, Matt and Nadine climbed into Jax's copter. Tracy didn't want to leave without Lulu, while Matt told Patrick that he didn't want to go. Patrick ordered them all to leave.... In the police trailer, Winifred informed Mac about the situation inside the hospital. Winnie praised Spinelli as a hero.
Jason was stunned to find Anthony missing. He wanted to go search for Zacchara but Sam insisted that Jason concentrate on survival, not finding Anthony. Sam went back to told Spinelli and insisted that he evacuate. Nikolas then met up with Sam and Spinelli and informed them that he scared off Rebecca. Sam offered to help him find her. They split up. Nikolas located Rebecca, who agreed to come with him only if he kept his distance. Just then, a portion of the roof fell on Rebecca.
Ric asked Lucky has Elizabeth was. Lucky informed him that Liz made it out safely. Lulu and Olivia joined them. Patrick arrived and ordered them all on the next chopper. Ric asked Patrick if he'd seen his father. As Patrick ordered the others out, Ric searched for Trevor. When he found his father, Trevor told Ric to save himself. He also gave him one last piece of advice: Ric was never wanted or loved as much as Sonny so he needs to move on. It's a competition he'll never win. Trevor then took off and Ric joined the others on the roof to be evacuated. Jax took off with the next group.
Jason found Claudia in the stairwell. "You're not going to help me, are you?" she asked. Jason carried Claudia to safety and she realized that Jason had been shot in the arm.
Trevor found Kate waiting to be evacuated. She refused his offer of assistance. Trevor pointed out that Sonny has other priorities now and he's the only game in town. He professed his love for Kate and asked her to come with him. She told Trevor that she was ashamed of her association with him. He then revealed the sphere of poison. Kate was shocked. Just then, Sam stumbled upon them. Trevor held up the poison and ordered her to back off. He then ran and Sam followed him.
Maxie arrived at G.H. and checked in with Mac. She was frantic to find Spinelli. Maxie then sneaked into the building as the firefighters raced in.... Robin was relieved to hear Emma was improving. The doctor credited it to the power of a mother's love.... Jason found Kate, who told him Trevor has the poison.... Spinelli went to check the utility closet to get a signal and became trapped. Meanwhile, Patrick found Spinelli's laptop in the hall.... Rebecca was trapped under debris.... Sam chased Trevor to the roof, where he threatened to drop the sphere.
Friday
Inside the burning hospital, Kate told Jason that Sam had gone after Trevor. Once alone with Claudia, Kate blurted out that she knows that Claudia is responsible for Michael being in a coma. Claudia denied the accusation and told Kate that Sonny won't believe her if she spills.
After getting hit by falling debris, Sonny and Carly recovered but found themselves trapped. They managed to dodge the fire and make it to a stairwell.... Nikolas freed a trapped Rebecca but then got knocked out. Rebecca frantically pulled him to safety. Afterward, Nik regained consciousness and Rebecca escorted him to the roof.
On the roof, Sam told Trevor to hand over the sphere but he asked why he'd want to "cancel my no-fault insurance policy." Trevor stated his aim was to use the poison as his ticket out of the Zacchara family. Sam pulled a gun on Trevor and demanded the poison. Trevor told Sam that he played Anthony like a violin, but he won't be played.
Lucky and Elizabeth reunited at Mercy. She told him about the Emily look-alike.... Lulu checked in on Tracy. Together, they wondered where Luke was. Tracy told Lulu that she was proud of how well Lulu kept her head in the crisis and that she was glad to be Lulu's "step-monster." Before things got too mushy, Tracy ordered Lulu to check on the evacuees and find her errant father. Lulu returned stating Luke was nowhere to be found. She brought Tracy coffee and Tracy counseled her about Johnny.
Now inside G.H., Maxie climbed the stairs to get to Spinelli. Meanwhile, Patrick informed Jason that Spinelli was missing. Jason vowed not to evacuate the burning building without Sam and Spinelli.
Diane showed up at Alexis's office to comfort her. Together, they fretted about their friends trapped in G.H. and those trying to save them. The gals did shots and discussed everyone involved with the hospital crisis. Alexis lamented that she's been a horrible mother to Sam. She vowed to work on her relationship with her firstborn should Sam get out of the burning structure unharmed.
Jax landed the helicopter to evacuate Kate, Claudia, Nikolas and Rebecca. On the roof of the other wing, Trevor was furious that the copter was leaving without them. He threatened to drop the poison from the rooftop, then tossed the sphere in the air. When Sam went to catch it, Trevor pushed her off the roof and tumbled over after her. Jason arrived on the roof, found the gun, then saw Sam hanging on to the edge of the roof for dear life. He pulled her to safety and retrieved the sphere.
Johnny broke into G.H. to find Maxie and found Sonny and Carly in the stairwell. He continued up in search of Maxie. After Sonny and Carly made it out alive, he complimented Carly and called her a survivor. Jax arrived and he and Carly shared a tender reunion.
Rayner questioned Kate and Claudia and informed them that Trevor was dead. Rayner suspected he jumped from the roof to avoid being burned to death.
After his own evacuation, Patrick met with Matt and Nadine in an ambulance. They watched G.H. burn as they remembered the times they shared in the hospital. Just as they were about to take off to Mercy, Rayner arrived to "debrief" Patrick. Matt said he should be the one to be interrogated. Nadine tried to calm him down. Just as they were about to take off, Nikolas asked her to hold the ambulance.
