Monday
Aboard Jax's jet, Kate asked, "How did a man like you end up married to a woman like Carly?" He said he sees a different side of her. Meanwhile, Carly ordered Spinelli to scour the Internet to find the filthiest dirt he could on Kate. Jason walked in and warned her that trashing Kate will provoke Sonny and Jax, so he sent Spinelli home. When Carly moaned that Kate kissed Jax, Jason pointed out, "You had sex with Sonny." Carly insisted that wasn't planned, while Kate kissed Jax out of spite. Carly was sure Sonny's marriage won't last. Jason wondered if Carly is trying to get Sonny mad enough to tell Jax about the limo tryst. Speaking of Sonny, Kate sent him a package, asking him to plan the wedding menu. Robin visited, and noted Mac mentioned that Sonny retired and Jason is taking over, so she congratulated him — and asked if marrying Kate is his way of dealing with his grief. Sonny said, "When I hear her voice, it makes me happy." Robin said she knows how Sonny gets when he loses people he loves, like Stone. She admitted she felt guilty when Stone died, and Jason helped her because he was unconnected to Stone. Sonny couldn't articulate his connection to Kate, so Robin likened it to a "past life" thing. Then she helped him settle on Italian food for the menu. Outside the New York gala, Kate instructed Jax not to comment on her engagement because she didn't want her nuptials to overshadow Crimson. Kate dropped her ring and ordered Jax to sit still while she searched for it. She leaned her head onto his lap just as the paparazzi threw open the door and started snapping photos.
Claudia told Anthony she tried to set up Trevor all those years ago because she feared he would cut her out of the family. Anthony dismissed her as "a manipulative tramp." Anthony said her mother, Domenica, overstepped her place. Claudia said Anthony tried to shoot his own son but hit her mother. She insisted Trevor ogled her and made lewd comments about her first, so she was trying to set him up. Anthony noted Claudia's unnatural attachment to Johnny. Anthony said when he saw them together, "I knew my attorney was a sucker and my daughter was a tramp." He sent Claudia away to keep her from harming Johnny — just like she had done with Michael's shooting. She handed him a letter opener and challenged him to use it. Johnny interrupted to defend his sister, but she insisted she really is dangerous and fled. She got tarted up and went to put the moves on a stunned Sonny.
Lulu watched from Johnny's balcony as Logan attacked Maxie, then decided to fumble for her cell. Logan called to tell her, "I know what you saw," and wanted to explain. She tried to call Lucky, then tried Maxie's line at the office, and then decided to flee, but ran into Logan in the hall, forcing her to lock him out. While he rationalized through the door, Lulu tried to dial...somebody, a couple of times, unsuccessfully. (Was 911 busy?) Suddenly, Logan chopped the door open with a fire axe while Lulu hid behind the couch in the dark with a giant knife. In the dark, Logan declared, "Nothing can keep us apart," as he grabbed her and begged her to listen. She dropped the knife, but managed to bite him, even as he insisted they belong together. Meanwhile, Johnny wandered into the deserted Crimson office and revived Maxie, who recapped. Back at Johnny's, Logan said he hated himself for what happened in Iraq, but Lulu saw good in him, and he wants her to have faith again. She tried to talk him down, then he kissed her. She made a break for it and got tossed to the floor next to her knife. She picked it up and he ran into it.
Tuesday
Jason suggested that Carly was trying to hurt herself by driving Jax away. Spinelli arrived and showed them the paparazzi photo of Kate in Jax's lap he found on the Internet. On the jet, Kate worried about not being able to contact Sonny to explain the photo. Back at the penthouse, Jason assured Carly the picture had to be a mistake. Carly said Kate is trying to get Jax into bed because she's jealous of Carly's connection to Sonny, and vowed to stop her. Meanwhile, Sonny told Claudia to get dressed and get lost — he's in love. Claudia indicated she was confused about her sexuality as a teen, then recapped how she seduced Trevor to keep him from taking over the family, but noted the sight of Trevor "banging the hell out of his 16-year-old daughter" caused Anthony to send Claudia away instead. Sonny said he would never treat his daughter that way. Sonny pointed out that if you hear you're worthless enough times, you start to believe it. And he's an expert on regretting choices he's made. He praised her for surviving her father's abuse. "Your father doesn't define you; you define yourself," he counseled. Her spirits lifted, she left — but not before reminding him that if he changes his mind, "you know where to find me." While Kate and Jax were in a holding pattern over Port Charles, Carly visited Sonny to drop off the photo with the command, "Rein her in." Later, Kate finally reached Sonny and started babbling. Sonny interrupted to say he knows "somebody took a picture of you doing Jax." When Carly got home she demanded that Jax explain the photo — and explain why their marriage isn't in trouble.
When Noah suddenly appeared at the nurses' station Patrick asked, "What are you doing here?" Noah revealed he had checked into rehab, then joined Doctors Without Borders. Later, as Noah assisted on a procedure, Patrick mentioned that Robin is pregnant. "Are you the father?" Noah asked. "Of course I'm the father," Patrick snapped. Noah noted Patrick would not be a good father. Meanwhile, Robin found Anna measuring the apartment for bullet-proof glass and Kevlar drapes for the nursery. Anna insisted that Patrick could be a good father, but Robin wouldn't hear of it. Anna realized that Robin was dealing with childhood trauma. It's "ill-advised to consider the father of the baby an obstacle," she said. Robin didn't want the baby to come to depend on Patrick only to have him leave. Anna pointed out that Robin is being vengeful because access to the baby is the only aspect of her life she can control. Robin left to get some air. Anna went to the hospital, where she ran into Noah. When Patrick revealed that he's suing Robin, Noah called him a "selfish ass." Meanwhile, Jason ran into Robin at Kelly's, and she asked his advice. Jason asked if she's trying to cut Patrick out of his child's life. She claimed she's just trying to head off disaster. Jason pointed out that being pregnant changed Robin, so maybe it can change Patrick. He advised against taking away Patrick's paternal rights out of fear — just as Elizabeth walked by.
As Logan looked at the knife in his gut, he told Lulu, "You'll never get over me," and collapsed. Johnny and Maxie arrived and declared Logan dead. Maxie reported that Logan didn't rape her, then recapped for Johnny how Logan had attacked her. Lulu picked up the story of how Logan then came after her, but she couldn't remember exactly how the knife got stabbed into him. (Was it an accident?) Maxie pointed out that Scotty will never buy her story. Johnny agreed, adding that since "technically [Logan] was unarmed," and there was no proof that Logan broke down the door, Scott could build a murder case against her. Lulu wanted to go by the book, but Johnny suggested dumping the body and covering up the crime. Then Claudia arrived and saw the body. Johnny blurted out: "I killed him."
Wednesday
As Elizabeth looked on, Jason told Robin that Patrick should do what's best for his child — no matter what it costs him. After he left, Robin told Liz that she has to convince Patrick that the baby would be better off without him. Robin and Liz bonded over loving unavailable men. Liz pointed out Patrick is trying to change, but Robin figured that's only for now. Liz pointed out that he never lied to her before, so she should believe him now. Noah told Patrick that suing Robin is crazy. Anna chimed in that Robin is pushing Patrick away, and she's willing to "stand up for my grandchild's father." So Noah decided to "stand up for his grandchild's mother" and tell a judge that Patrick is unfit to be a daddy. Later, Robin was excited to see Noah, who broke the news he would testify for her while Anna would back Patrick. "Don't you think rotten is a little harsh?" Robin asked. Noah claimed Patrick screwed half the women in the hospital and will never make family a priority — and Noah admitted he was a bad role model. Anna said Robin is reacting to her messed-up childhood, and suggested Noah is still a lousy father. Robin said this issue is between her and Patrick. She's not blaming anyone for how she feels. Anna asked so why are they going to court? Robin said she knows what makes Patrick happy. "You make me happy," he said. She said the baby was her idea and she loves him for doing the right thing, but "I don't want you to, and I don't need you to."
Jax assured Carly that he hasn't cheated on her, and he thinks the photo is kind of funny. "You should know me better than that," he said and explained about Kate losing her ring. Carly called it exactly the kind of excuse a cheating husband would make. Meanwhile, Sonny wasn't buying Kate's explanation either — even though he acknowledged that she would never cheat on him. Turned out he was playing with her — he trusts her completely. Kate decided she needed to do damage control with a press release, and sighed that it's only a matter of time until "Carly starts throwing herself at you." Elsewhere, Carly asked if Jax could swear he never kissed Kate. He admitted kissing her the night Carly and Sonny took Michael to the institute. Carly demanded he admit being attracted to Kate, but he declined. Carly claimed he always puts Kate first ahead of his own wife. "Clearly, Kate Howard is more important than our marriage." When Jason got home, Carly was waiting to tell him Jax's story. Jason pointed out that kiss was the same night Carly and Sonny had sex. "That doesn't count!" she said. "Sonny was a go-back, like a redo." She claimed it meant nothing, whereas Jax's kiss meant everything — and he kept it a secret. Sex doesn't mean she and Sonny are getting back together. If Jax learned about the sex it would break his heart and ruin everyone's lives. She returned home and told Jax, "I can't believe you kissed Kate." He apologized for hurting her, and swore he loves only Carly. He wants to hang in until the magazine is launched. He promised no more out-of-town trips. Then they kissed. Back at Sonny's, Kate assured Giselle that Crimson is still on track. She told Sonny she doesn't understand his dynamic with Carly. "If you ever cheat on me with Carly you know we're through, right?"
Johnny told Claudia that Logan tried to kill him, be he got Logan first. Claudia warned him that Scott won't accept a self-defense story, and made him recount the story. Maxie claimed Logan confronted Lulu at Crimson. Lulu claimed she was leading Logan on and he flipped out. Johnny said Logan broke down his door, so he defended himself. Maxie said when she and Lulu arrived Logan was already dead. Claudia noted there was no evidence and no witnesses. Johnny told Lulu to let him and his sister take over, so she left with Maxie. Claudia and Johnny mulled where to dump the body. Spinelli went to Kelly's to get chips and orange soda. Maxie burst in and took his soda and began arguing loudly with Lulu, but there was something...staged about it. Spinelli opened the soda, which drenched him. Later, Maxie explained that the fight needed to be staged to give them an alibi. Lulu wondered why she was helping her. Maxie said if she had a weapon she would have killed Logan herself. Spinelli went home and told Jason about the public fight. At the clinic, Nadine heard a sound outside: Logan's body being dumped. When Harper arrived she told him she got a partial plate of a car: ATJ. At that moment, Johnny was removing that plate from the car.
Thursday
Harper was quizzing Nadine and Nikolas at the clinic when Matt arrived and recounted his encounter with Logan at the Elm Street Pier — conveniently leaving out the bit about wanting to buy counterfeit drugs from him. Meanwhile, Diane arrived at the coffeehouse to announce Logan's killing. Spinelli immediately claimed to be Jason's alibi, but Diane pointed out he needed someone better — and "pregnant doctor" Robin fit the bill. "You will be a prime suspect," Diane noted, since Logan worked for the Zaccharas, Jason is violent, and Logan was a failed bodyguard for Corinthos. Spinelli vowed to learn who did kill Logan, using the Internet. (Who needs cops?) Diane was pointing out that "jackaling" is illegal when Harper arrived to arrest Jason. Later, at PCPD, Lucky told Nik the partial plate traced to one Malcolm Dodge, whom Jason was suspected of killing. Nik warned Nadine that the Zaccharas will come after her if she implicates them, but Nadine refused to be a "coward" and back down. In the interrogation room, Diane told Jason the cops can hold him for 24 hours (based on the license plate link), then left to represent another client in a custody case. Back at the clinic, Matt told a caller that he couldn't buy the fake drugs from Logan, so now it's on to Plan B.
Claudia arranged for the door to Johnny's apartment to be replaced, then dumped the carpet. She pointed out that Johnny will be a suspect after that public fistfight with Logan and wondered if the blondes could keep the secret of Johnny's "guilt." At that moment, Lulu was feeling compelled to confess, but Maxie stopped her, pointing out that Lulu already cracked his skull "by accident" once, and encouraged her to let Johnny protect her. Then Mac arrived to tell them Logan was murdered. Maxie reacted with shock and sympathy. Mac was surprised to learn Maxie had seen Logan at the pier yesterday. In the Zacchara suite at Metro Court, Anthony told a bickering Ric and Trevor that he suspects Johnny killed "the monkey" — but his son better not go to jail for it. Then Mac arrived to check everyone's stories. When Anthony laughed that he needs help to use the bathroom, Mac suggested he ordered a goon to kill him. Ric suggested Logan was the victim of a bar fight. Then Maxie and Lulu arrived at Johnny's place, where Claudia was aghast that the girls had staged a public argument.
Patrick arrived at Robin's place with a peach trifle and hopes they could be civil in court. Then Noah arrived and accused Patrick of being a liar. Anna suggested it would help Robin if the boys reconciled. Patrick said he accepts Noah as a co-worker, but rejects his attempts to rewrite history and become a father now. Noah acknowledged he was obsessed with his career, but predicted Patrick will do the same. Then they argued over who suffered more for Noah's alcoholism. Anna suggested they just move on — like she and Robin have. Robin noted the guys are too much alike. Noah regretted that he never committed to his family, and he's just trying to prevent Patrick from making the same mistake and then descending into self-loathing. He stormed out, leaving Anna to regret getting involved. Robin took Patrick aside and told him, "I think you're a far better man than Noah gives you credit for." She suggested delaying the court date, but he said, "I love you, and I love our kid, so I have to go through with this."
When Spinelli told Maxie about his murder investigation, she dumped soda on his computer, hoping to ruin his data, but he assured her his data was backed up and vowed to continue. Then she screeched: "Jason didn't do it!" At Johnny's, Lulu was lamenting messing up when Mac knocked on the door. Claudia had gone to Anthony's, and wasn't surprised when Ric said Logan was killed. Anthony asked her if Johnny told her when and where he killed Logan. Anthony knew about the smashed door and bloody carpet. He ordered her to tell the cops she was an eyewitness to Jason killing Logan. At that moment, Nadine was at PCPD, looking at a lineup that included Jason....
Friday
Spinelli told Sonny that Jason had been arrested, but refused to reveal details of the case because Sonny is retired from the business. After a fuming Sonny stalked out, Spinelli redoubled his efforts to investigate the case. At PCPD, Carly burst in on the lineup before Nadine could identify anyone (How did she get in there?) and accused Harper of railroading Jason. She insisted Jason was with her last night. Nadine could only identify a dark sedan, but Carly went to Jason and said, "I covered for you." Jason assured her he is innocent. Claudia balked at framing Jason, but Anthony was convinced that Johnny was guilty and needed protection. She admitted Johnny killed Logan in self-defense — and Maxie and Lulu were there. Anthony fretted about the blondes keeping their mouths shut, and warned Claudia it will be her fault if Johnny lands in prison. When Mac and Lucky tried to question Johnny, Lulu interfered, so Lucky took her for coffee. Johnny then refused to say anything without an attorney. At Kelly's, Lucky chatted with a clearly rattled Lulu. Mac returned to PCPD to find Mayor Floyd there, asking where Scott is. Mac reported Scott is off sailing until July 24. Floyd wanted Logan's killer found before then.
In the courtroom, Alexis and Diane bickered until Robin broke it up. Anna arrived to say she will not testify for either side. Then Noah arrived and said the same. Without any opening statements, Patrick took the stand and admitted he never wanted to be a father. Under Diane's questioning, he testified that his behavior made it hard for Robin to trust him, "but I'm not a stupid man." He realizes it's ironic, but Robin and the baby are now the most important thing in the world to him, and he wants to make a life with his new family. A clearly moved Robin stood and told him he can see her and the baby anytime he wants. Later, Noah told Patrick, "You're a better man than I am. I'm proud of you, son." Patrick walked away without acknowledging him. Robin thanked Patrick profusely, suggesting, "We're gonna make a good family." Anna got a call from Eli Love and panicked. She said he's coming to town, so she needs to "evac," because, "I can't be around when he finds out I'm going to be a grandmother."
Kate welcomed former assistant Clarice back to Crimson as the "accessories editor." Jax had just arrived when reporters burst in to ask Kate and Jax sleazy, gossipy questions about their "affair." While defending herself, she let slip about the engagement to Sonny — who chose that moment to walk in. The gossip-mongers asked how it feels to have his bride sleeping with Jax. "I'm proud to be marrying Kate Howard," he replied. After the yellow press left, Kate fretted that she has gone from fashion icon to bimbo. Sonny insisted that she was "born with class."
Back at PCPD, Carly told Jason she sent reporters to Crimson, armed with rumors of Kate's affair. Later, Jason returned to the office, where he told Spinelli he has a "pretty good idea" who killed Logan. Then Jason spotted an image of a certain car on Spinelli's laptop. Claudia returned home and admitted to Johnny that she told Anthony everything. Johnny worried that their father will off the blondes to protect him. Claudia suggested Lulu is a weak link and pointed out their father will kill Claudia if she doesn't do a good job covering for Johnny. At that moment, a thug snatched Maxie from an elevator and dragged her to a suspicious Anthony, who demanded she recount her version of Logan's death.
Later, Carly visited the deserted Crimson offices, looking for Kate. Sonny said Kate was crying in the ladies' room. Carly was proud that her scheme had humiliated Kate, and boasted she'd do it again. She recapped about The Kiss, and called Kate a manipulator (she ought to know!). Sonny warned that if Carly does not start respecting Kate, he will tell Jax that Carly seduced him in the limo. Little did he know, Jax was standing right behind him!
Spinelli summoned Lulu to the coffee shop to inform her he knows who the true culprit is — just as Johnny walked in. (How did he get in there?) Elsewhere, Jason was examining the car used to dump Logan's corpse (How did he find it?) when Claudia drew a gun on him. He said shooting him won't help her cover up the fact that Johnny killed Logan.
