Monday
Sam confronted Ethan about Kristina. He explained that he told her that she was too young for him. Sam accused him of physically hurting Kris. A puzzled Ethan denied it. Sam didn't buy it. An argument ensued; Luke intervened, saying that Kristina had no business coming into the casino since she was underage. This got Sam even more upset. Meanwhile, Kiefer relentlessly beat Kristina, leaving her battered. Kristina cried and begged him to leave her alone. Kiefer broke down, too, and blamed her for making him angry.... Luke assured Sam that Ethan hadn't touched Kristina, but she still warned Ethan not to come near her sister. After, Luke chastised his son for acting before he thought. Ethan replied that he'll handle this on his own. Later, Luke confided in Tracy about his problems with Ethan, and how Ethan is being "stalked" by Sonny's daughter. He feared that Sonny would eventually confront Ethan, but then decided not to worry about his adult son.
At the hospital, Helena demanded from a lab tech that she be the first one to see Elizabeth's paternity test. Steven overheard and asked what business she had with their lab. Helena replied that her family's money is the lifeblood of the hospital and she can speak with whomever she wants. She threatened to get him fired, but he wasn't fazed.... Lucky paid Liz a visit in the mental ward. She told him that she's learning how important it is to deal with the truth and asked if he wanted the baby to be his. He replied that he'll love the baby, no matter what. She pushed him to give her a straight answer and he admitted that he wants to be away from her and move on with his life. "Having a kid together would be one more thing keeping us trapped in something that doesn't work anymore," he said quietly. She became upset as she processed his words.
Dante paid Jason and Sonny a visit and asked how Michael is doing. They, of course, didn't have an answer for him. Dante advised him to really help Michael by letting the teen come clean about Claudia's murder, and have a shot at living a normal life. Dante accused Sonny of hiding behind Michael so that Sonny wouldn't have to go to prison. After he left, Jason asked Sonny if he'd planned to tell Dante that Michael killed Claudia. Sonny answered that Dante has genuine concern for Michael. Jason believed that Sonny didn't want Dante to think that he's capable of beating a woman to death. Sonny admitted that he's haunted by the abuse he suffered from his stepfather and wished that he could make Dante understand about Michael. Jason didn't think that Dante would understand if he told him the truth, and Michael would end up going to prison.
After Maxie suffered a coughing fit, Kate and Lulu took her to the hospital. Kate felt guilty for having Maxie come to work. Robin declared the case serious enough to get Monica's input since Maxie could have heart problems. Maxie was frightened. After, Kate asked how Maxie was doing. Robin stated that Maxie was dealing with work stress in addition to being sick. This made Kate feel worse. Spinelli went to visit Maxie and freaked out when he saw her attached to various hospital machines. Monica asked him to hold it together. Maxie assured him that she and her heart would be fine.... Robin confided in Patrick how worried she is about Maxie.
Molly and Alexis enjoyed an ice cream sundae together and bonded over their love of reading. Alexis shared that when she was a kid, her father believed that his children should be seen and not heard. She added that when she was a kid, she was very shy. Dante joined them and Molly expressed her excitement over Sonny's upcoming trial and the drama surrounding it. She asked Dante for the inside scoop, but he didn't want to discuss it. Still, she asked why he didn't call Sonny "Dad." Dante replied that he'd never do it. Molly pressed on to see how he felt about having a new, large family. Dante told her that he always wanted siblings. Alexis asked her daughter to stop with the questions, but Dante didn't seem to mind the chat.
Dante then joined Lucky and informed him that it was looking as if Michael was going to be the star witness in Sonny's case. Lucky correctly concluded that Michael had conveniently "disappeared." Dante was determined to find him. Lulu interrupted and Lucky left them alone. She hoped that her brother wasn't the father of Liz's baby. Later, Dante shared that he enjoys cooking; Lulu noted that Sonny does, as well, but Dante insisted that he's nothing like his father.
Nikolas went to see Liz. She filled him in on her encounter with Lucky earlier, and how he's hoping that he's not the father. Nik asked if she'd hoped that the baby would be the one thing to get her and Lucky back together. She stated that she doesn't have a choice but to accept Lucky's decision. Nik told her that he pulled some strings and asked to have the results sped up.... Helena met up with the lab tech and got the results from him. She prepared to open them.
Later, Jason joined Spinelli in the hospital and listened as Spin blamed himself for Maxie's condition. Spin noted that Jason loves his son, Jake, but had the courage to walk out of his life — and that he's bad for Maxie, and so wants to let her go, as well.... Mac visited Maxie and asked why Robin let her leave the hospital. Maxie insisted that it wasn't Robin's fault that she'd gone. Robin implored Maxie to take better care of herself. Maxie asked for Spinelli, but Mac thought she was better off without him there. Monica then informed her that she has pneumonia and it's putting a strain on her heart.
Ethan went to see Kristina and found the bloodied teen crying on the floor. He picked her up and promised to get her help, then carried her into the hospital. His face was scratched by a freaked out Kristina in the process. Epiphany called Patrick to tend to the case. "What happened?" he asked. "I don't know," Ethan said. Patrick called Sonny and told him to get to the hospital. Alexis and Molly then got the news.... Steven told Lucky that he's going to have to wait to question Kris. Steven and Patrick were horrified that someone could've done this to a young girl.... Lucky questioned Ethan about Kristina; Ethan replied that he'd gone to visit her and found Kristina beat up. Lucky was suspicious.... Ethan returned to the Haunted Star and Tracy asked why his face was scratched. He told her that "Good intentions lead straight to hell.".... Alexis and Sonny arrived at the hospital. Sonny demanded to know who did this. Lucky then asked for a name, as well. "It was Ethan," Kristina lied.
Tuesday
Nikolas told Liz he'd put a rush on the paternity test results, knowing she wants it to be Lucky's baby. Elizabeth noted Lucky being the dad would be the easiest for everyone. Elsewhere, Helena read the results, smiling like the cat that ate the canary at the news that Lucky was the baby daddy. She told the doctor to fix the results, so she and Nikolas could raise a Spencer as a Cassadine and destroy the family with one of their own. Later, Elizabeth hung up from a call with Cameron and Steve as Helena appeared. Helena assured Liz that she'd see a lot of her if the baby was a Cassadine.
Sam asked Jason for advice on Kristina, explaining Ethan rejected her sister. She feared her talking about her past had influenced the young girl into following in her footsteps. At the casino, Ethan studied his scratch and Tracy questioned him. Meanwhile, a hospitalized Kristina fingered Ethan as her abuser, citing the Haunted Star confrontation first and then pinning the lake house beating on him. As she broke down in sobs, Lucky realized that Sonny had vanished. At the casino, Ethan recounted the night's events for Tracy. After she left, Sonny showed up and pulled a gun on Ethan. Luckily, Dante walked in. "You pull the trigger, I guarantee he isn't going to lie and say he shot himself!" he warned. Alexis called Sam to tell her Ethan had beaten Kristina and then returned to Krissy. She assured her daughter she loves her and they'd get through this. At the Haunted Star, Ethan insisted he was innocent and both Dante and Lucky tried to talk Sonny down. Sonny yelled at Ethan some more and stalked out. Ethan tried to explain to Dante, Lucky and Tracy what had happened. Given Kristina's ID, Lucky had no choice but to bring him in. Sam showed up at GH to support her sister and assure her the beating was all on Ethan.
Ronnie brought Johnny into the PCPD, wanting him to testify at Sonny's trial. As for Sonny, he went straight to Jason to unload about everything and arrange for Ethan's death. "What are you going to tell Luke?" Jason countered. Lucky brought Ethan into the PCPD interrogation room and when Lucky stepped away, Johnny slipped in. Ethan told him what's going on. Back at GH, Sam talked about the times men had hit her and assured Kristina she'd find strength and define her boundaries. Tracy left another message for Luke as Alexis stormed in, demanding Tracy track her hubby down. A stony Alexis warned Tracy what Ethan was in for. Jason tried to play devil's advocate for Sonny about starting trouble with Luke, but Sonny insisted Ethan had to die. Back at the PCPD, Lucky told Ethan that the evidence was stacked against him and it didn't look good. Johnny made a beeline to Jason, telling him he
thinks Ethan is innocent and begging him not to off the guy. As Kristina flashed back on Kiefer beating her, Dante walked in. Her new big bro assured her that she's gorgeous and "it's just what happened to you that's ugly." She reached for his hand, grateful to have his support. Out at the nurses' station, Sam told Alexis about Kristina being sexually active and apologized. "I never wanted her to end up like me," she said. Sonny came back to Kristina's room. Dante couldn't help but be affected watching Sonny at his daughter's side. At the station, Ethan continued to defend himself to Lucky, furious that Lucky didn't seem to believe him. As for Kiefer, he came by the lake house, where a tearful Molly told him Ethan had beaten Kristina. At GH, Dante listened in as Sonny talked to a sleeping Kristina about Deke and Adella. "None of my kids were supposed to go through anything like this," he wept.
Wednesday
Nikolas summoned Lulu to tell her he's certain the paternity test will name him the father of Elizabeth's baby and he wants to do the right thing because he loves Liz. A furious Lulu noted Liz only loves herself, and he is trying to convince himself he loves her. Nikolas then invited Lucky to the reading of the DNA results, but Lucky scoffed that Nik should call him with the results. When Nik went to Shadybrook to pick up Elizabeth, they agreed to learn from their mistakes and not repeat them.
Tracy bailed Ethan out of jail. Lucky warned that Ethan is safer in jail than on the streets, and offered police protection — which Ethan declined. Back at The Haunted Star, Ethan vowed to clear his name. However, later, Lulu found Ethan preparing to flee, and pointed out that will make him look more guilty. At PCPD, Alexis ran into Mac who had the results of Kristina's DNA test ready.
Johnny visited Maxie, who sang his praises for rescuing her. Spinelli overheard, and rolled off in despair. He told Robin that Maxie is drawn to the Dark Prince, and Spin's efforts to be a hero merely put her life in danger. Robin reminded him that Maxie loves him, so he should be at her side. Spin returned and Johnny left. Maxie begged him not to feel inadequate, but Mac arrived and barked at Spinelli. Maxie tried to defend Spin and had a coughing fit, so Mac withdrew. Robin declared Maxie has to stay in the hospital until the docs get a handle on what's wrong with her.
At Metro Court, Claire pressed Carly about producing Michael. When Jax and Olivia arrived, Claire asked if Michael really was out driving that night. Liv had nothing to add to her statement.
Helena ordered Alfred to refurbish Wyndemere in anticipation of the baby's arrival. At GH, Elizabeth and Nik awaited the DNA results — which were delivered to Epiphany by Helena's bribed technician. Lucky arrived outside just in time to hear Epiphany announce: "Nikolas is the father."
Sam warned the hospitalized Kristina that the first day after is always the worst — and that the police will come to ask questions. Meanwhile, Alexis went to Jason and urged him not to kill Ethan, because Kristina will blame herself for the death. Sam said she knows from her own experience that the attack was not Kristina's fault. And the bruises will heal. Sam begged her sister not to protect her attacker: Ethan. After Sam left, Kiefer slipped into her room. "I'm so sorry," he sobbed. "I can't believe I did this to you." She started crying, too. "I thought you were gonna kill me," she cried. "How could you do this to me?" He asked why she protected him, hoping it was because she still loves him. She said she doesn't want her father to kill him. He thanked her for saving his life. When Alexis came in, he left. K sobbed, "This is my fault, because I lied." She was referring to lying to Kiefer and blowing off the frat party. Alexis promised to prosecute Ethan.
Later, Sam told Jason she blames herself for K's attack, noting she knows what it feels like to be overpowered by a man. She feared she set a bad example as the "wild older sister." Jason reassured her, and urged her to be strong for K. Lucky summoned Kiefer and his parents (both lawyers) to question him about the night of Kristina's assault. Mr. Bauer doubted that Kristina was actually Kiefer's "girlfriend." Lucky's questioning of Kiefer was interrupted by Mac, who announced that the mayor had intervened, and the Bauers left — but not before noting that Kristina's father is a mobster with many enemies. Lucky headed to G.H. Later, Jason visited Kristina to ask her to detail the night's events. She said that after Sam dropped her off at the lake house, Ethan arrived. Jason pointed out that Sam told him she had talked to Ethan at the Star immediately after dropping off Kristina — so Jason asked if maybe she made a mistake.
Thursday
Mac told Alexis tests revealed Ethan's DNA beneath Kristina's nails. Meanwhile, Ethan resolved to run, because nobody believes him — even Lulu. Lulu demanded he stay until Luke returns, noting, "I think Sonny is a hateful pig," but he won't risk killing Luke's son unnecessarily.
Amidst flashbacks of Kiefer, the hospitalized Kristina told Jason that Ethan pounded on the door — and on her — five minutes after Sam dropped her home. Sonny arrived and stopped Jason's questioning, despite his insistence that her timeline is off: Ethan didn't have time to get from The Haunted Star to the lake house. Clearly recalling his own childhood, Sonny pointed out abused kids can't keep track of time or fight back. Time doesn't matter; only survival. He ordered Jason to "handle" the "animal" Ethan, but Jason reminded him that Ethan is Luke's son, so they have to be "sure" before he does something they can't take back. When Sonny returned to Kristina's room, she screamed, "Dad, please don't kill Ethan!" In hysterics, she wailed that Sonny kills people and throws them away like trash, and he wanted Claudia dead. When Alexis arrived, Kristina begged her to make Sonny swear not to kill Ethan.Alexis announced, "He's going to be tried in a court of law — right, Sonny?" Sonny mumbled and slipped out. Alexis followed Sonny and warned him not to kill Ethan. Sonny said Kristina is protecting her abuser, like his mother did. Nobody beats his kid and lives, Sonny roared, but Alexis screamed back "It's not about you," and warned him not to lay a hand on Ethan. Sonny feared Luke would smuggle Ethan out of the country before any trial. Alexis told Sonny not to cause Kristina one more minute of pain. "If that's what you want," he grumbled. Back in her daughter's room, Kristina refused to charge Ethan, but Alexis promised she will, as the mother of a minor, noting, "What he did to you was unthinkable." Alexis encouraged her to testify against Ethan. "I can't," Kristina cried. Outside, Sam told Jason it took 20-30 minutes to get the Star, and Ethan wasn't scratched when she saw him. When Jason expressed reservations about Kristina's story, Sam warned him not to make things worse by doubting Kristina. Then Lulu asked Jason not to kill Ethan — even though she's not sure he's innocent. Sam went to Ethan and started beating on him, but he wouldn't fight back. As he tried to restrain her Jason arrived, shouting, "If you hit her, it's over!" Ethan gave them his side of the story, and Jason declared Ethan safe. For now.
Nikolas told a disappointed Elizabeth that he commissioned a second DNA test, out of state. She said she's prepared to be a single mom, and she and Nik will figure out shared custody. Back at Wyndemere, Helena urged Nikolas to celebrate — and she's moving in to help raise a a true Cassadine. When Nik told Spencer he's getting a baby brother or sister, the kid asked if he's getting a mommy. Sadly, no.
Claire warned Mayor Floyd to steer clear of the press. He offered to get evidence "enhanced," which prompted her to ask if he's on Sonny's payroll. Floyd cautioned that "nothing sticks to Sonny," and also, she's up against Diane and Alexis. Claire mentioned seeking a continuance stemming from Kristina's attack, but Floyd wanted no delays. Claire went to Sonny and offered a postponement, but he declined, noting he won't let her use Kristina as a pretext for gaining time to hunt down Michael. Elsewhere, Dante suddenly appeared on Sonny's island, looking for Michael. Max and Milo stonewalled. As Michael eavesdropped, Dante said Michael has been subpoenaed — and can to earn respect by stepping up. Michael stayed hidden, but later lamented that his father is on trial for something he did.
When Kate slinked into Jake's and kissed Coleman, he asked her how to get out of jury duty, because it would be a hardship. "How hard?" she purred. She offered to dress him for trial. And then remove the clothing herself. Meanwhile, Alice announced the the Quartermaines, "I have jury duty!"
Friday
Lulu brought Dante a coffee-maker for his new place, and they began kissing on his new couch — until she got an "urgent" call from Maxie and left for the hospital. There, Maxie wanted to work on the new issue of Crimson, but was overcome by a coughing fit. Spinelli suggested she wear an oxygen mask, but Maxie balked. She admitted vulnerability, but chooses not to dwell on her fragile health. She remembered being in the hospital at age 6, and how the oxygen mask was a step down the road to inevitable isolation. She told Lulu to go have sex with Dante — anything that makes her happy to be alive. Meanwhile, Olivia had brought food to Dante's. He admitted he appreciates how awesome she is. He asked if she knew, back in the day, that Sonny and his mother were being abused. She admitted she did, but nobody talked about it in those days. Later, when Lulu returned, she was weepy over how Maxie could die at any moment and lamented wasting time together. They professed their love and kissed. Back at G.H., Robin ordered Maxie to wear the mask. Spin felt responsible, but Maxie noted it was inevitable.
When Carly arrived to get Sonny dressed for court, she found him in a stupor. He confessed that he's been thinking about his mother a lot, and petite Kristina reminds him of his mother and the poundings she endured. He recalled how he vowed that no one he loves would ever go through what he and his mother did with Deke, but none of his money or power protected his daughter. They embraced. He regretted that Kristina saw his violent side, and regretted not killing Ethan immediately. Sonny said Ethan was being just like Deke by accusing his victim of lying. While Sonny was angry that Kristina is protecting her abuser, he wondered if it was his fault because he wasn't around when she was growing up. Carly reminded Sonny that Deke kept him isolated and vulnerable, but Kristina has strong female role models and a protective father. She made a mistake, but won't repeat it. She encouraged Sonny to go to court and set an example for his daughter by fighting. Meanwhile, Kiefer visited Kristina at the lake house, where she cringed from him. He reiterated that he's sorry. "You know that's not me," he lied. When she started crying, Alexis intervened, and sent Kiefer home. He asked Kristina for permission to visit tomorrow.
Ethan visited the penthouse to talk to Jason, but Sam intervened and refused to hear his side, even though Jason listened carefully. After he left, Sam begged Jason not to believe that "pig." When Jason expressed confusion, a furious Sam accused him of not being able to relate to a victim. Sam went to Kristina to instruct her about covering up her bruises with makeup. Kristina lamented that she feels "broken and ugly."Sam convinced her to try it, and they bonded. Alexis ran into Ethan preparing to flee The Haunted Star, and told him that if he does, Sonny will have him killed. She challenged him to stick around and face trial. She slapped him with a restraining order.
Carly told Jason that Sonny is teetering on the edge. Jason told her Kristina could be lying. Ethan went to the lake house, and asked Kristina why she lied.
Big Alice was ecstatic at the prospect of being called for jury duty. Meanwhile, Kate admired the stylish new Coleman — who was sure he would not be picked. Lisa was also sure she wouldn't be selected. When the bailiff called them in, Sonny saw Kate kissing Coleman. She wished him luck. Sonny went to Claire and Diane and declared, "Let's get this show on the road." Diane and Claire conducted voir dire right there. Lisa, Alice and Coleman were accepted for the jury. Claire's opening statement noted that Sonny announced his intention to kill Claudia, and then carried out his threat. Then Diane declared that Sonny "did, indeed, kill his wife."
