Monday
Luke warned Kristina that the real perpetrator could come after her again — and whatever happens to Ethan will be on her head. "Tell me who really beat you up," he begged. Luke volunteered that his own father beat him, his sister and his mother, so he knows what it's like to protect an abuser. "I'm sorry," she sobbed — but Sam interrupted and threw Luke out. When Alexis returned, she was shocked that Luke had been there, and left to confront him. Kristina moaned that she had messed everything up.
Wailing about Ethan, Sonny ordered Jason, "I want him to hang on a hook! Then I want him dead! I wanna kill him! Ethan Lovett is gonna die!" Jason noticed Claire lurking outside tried to shut down Sonny, who finally noticed the prosecutor. "I'll see you in court," she snarked. Jason pointed out the obvious: nothing can happen to Ethan. But Sonny mused, "The jury will never know." Claire went to the courtroom and asked Jax how to trigger a Sonny meltdown in court. Jax suggested getting someone to testify that Sonny is violent toward women. Sonny arrived and implied that Jax has paid off Claire. Back at the restaurant, Conan suggested some ideas for attracting new business, but Jason pointed out they don't want more customers. When Luke arrived, Jason revealed he thinks there's a hole in Kristina's story, and suggested Dante should help Lucky investigate. Later, a furious Sam arrived, and Jason took her to Kelly's, where they saw Ethan hitting on a waitress.
At the hospital, Georgie told Maxie's spirit that she has a decision to make: whether to live or die. Maxie noted that Spinelli is great, but she's sure she will break his heart because she's attracted to bad boys. Georgie reminded her that bad boys won't make her happy, but Maxie insisted she wants men who take chances, just like she does. "I need to be the best at whatever it is I do," she declared. She wondered if maybe it would be better for Spinelli if she died. The girls watched as Johnny entered and lamented not rescuing Maxie sooner. He praised her as a sympathetic listener, revealed that while he loves Olivia, he can't get over her defending Sonny. Then Spinelli rolled in and noted Maxie is dying. As Spinelli beat himself up, SpiritMaxie professed her love. Then Johnny was called away. "I put you in danger whilst attempting to prove my manhood," Spin lamented to Maxie. He mused how he never expected to land the most beautiful woman in the room. "My life matters because of you," he declared, and promised to do anything to make her happy — even let her go. Touched, SpiritMaxie demanded to return to her body. Georgie warned her sister that she won't remember anything, but was cheered that she wants to live. Maxie returned to her body and awoke, to Spinelli's delight.
Morgan went to PCPD to bring Dante a Yankees mug, but found only Ronnie, who tried to get him talking about Michael — but Morgan was clever. When Dante arrived, he pulled Ronnie aside and threatened to carve out his heart if he goes near his brother again.
When court resumed, Claire called Johnny to the stand, where she elicited testimony about how Sonny married Claudia as a business arrangement, and that he saw Sonny abuse Claudia "all the time." He claimed Sonny treated Claudia like property and called her a whore when all she wanted was a baby. As Kristina listened from the back of the courtroom, Johnny related how Claudia lost Sonny's baby — and Sonny was glad. Johnny said Sonny beat her down every day. "That's a lie!" Sonny screamed, calling Johnny a weasel. "I've never hit a woman in my life!" He called Claudia a witch who got what she deserved. Then pandemonium reigned in the courtroom.
Tuesday
Luke and Alexis argued about which of their children should be believed: Ethan or Kristina. At Kelly's, Sam baited Ethan, who went about his business. She asked Jason if he thinks Kristina is lying. He noted she is too close to the issue. And, since Sonny wants him to "take somebody out," he wants to be absolutely sure. He urged her to let Lucky investigate. Sam left, disgusted.
After Judge Carroll regained control of his courtroom, he berated both lawyers for the disruptions, and Sonny for his outburst and openly threatening a witness. Johnny noticed Kristina crying in the back of the courtroom, which attracted the judge's attention. After identifying herself she left. Sonny wanted to follow, but the judge threatened him with contempt. Kristina went home, where Alexis heard her sobs. K confessed going to court, where her father's out-of-control reaction to Johnny — and contempt for Claudia — scared her. Alexis admitted Sonny's temper gets the best of him. "Did he ever hit you?" she asked. Alexis insisted Sonny never abused her or any other women. Meanwhile, Judge Carroll cleared the courtroom and accused Claire of manipulating her witness to provoke Sonny. Outside court, Sonny confronted Johnny, who said he didn't know Kristina was in the room, but she needed to know what kind of man her father really is. When court resumed, Claire wanted Johnny to continue to testify, but the judge adjourned for the day. When he ordered the jury sequestered, Coleman claimed to have a virus, but could not get out of his duty.
At PCPD, Dante cautioned Morgan not to talk to Ronnie. Ronnie took Dante aside and warned he'll have Dante's badge yanked if he interferes on Sonny's behalf again. Ronnie noted he protected Franco because he had a personal relationship with him. He cautioned Dante that he could not be a good son to Sonny and a good cop at the same time. When Carly arrived, Dante recapped. Carly was suspicious of Dante's motives, but he promised never to take advantage of his brother. Carly wanted that if he uses her family against Sonny, "no badge or gun will protect you."
At Shadybrook, Elizabeth told Steve she has decided to check herself out; she will continue outpatient therapy. He questioned her decision, but she insisted she will be happier and healthier at home with her boys. At G.H., Nikolas and Tracy faced off over Ethan, with Nik pointing out that since Luke raped Laura, attacking women runs in the family. Ethan appeared, and Nik warned him that he won't forget what Ethan did. Ethan told Tracy it's time to leave town. Tracy went to Luke, who decided to stop Ethan. Later, when Ethan went to The Haunted Star, Luke warned him that fleeing will make him look cowardly. Ethan insisted it's time to move on, so Luke offered to line up fake documents and assistance in Europe — which will take a few days. Luke warned his son that if he flees on his own, Luke will track him down. Nikolas went to Shadybrook, where Liz announced her intention to leave. Nik didn't think she's ready.
An elated Johnny found Lulu at Jake's. She was celebrating Maxie's improvement, but he wanted to celebrate getting to Sonny from the stand. When Dante arrived, he was less-than-pleased to hear of Johnny's coup. Carly went to Jason, who was sure Dante was working Morgan. Then, Diane burst in and declared the trial as good as over, and Sonny "all but convicted."
Sonny went to the lake house to talk to Kristina, claiming his ugly outburst "was a legal trick." She was aghast: "How stupid do you think I am?" she asked. "I never hit Claudia; I never hit any woman," he shouted. She insisted she knows what it feels like to be hurt and to be told it's your fault.
Wednesday
Ethan got into an argument with a woman over who ran whom off the road. He offered to help her, but she wouldn't hear of it, so Ethan went to the Quartermaine mansion to collect Luke's cigars. As he was leaving, that same woman arrived — and Edward introduced her as Maya, his great-granddaughter. Meanwhile, at The Haunted Star, Tracy suggested taking Ethan out of town. For his own good — and because she's upset that Edward invited Maya to live at the mansion. Luke liked the idea of going to a tropical paradise on Tracy's dime. But as soon as she left, he got a call with word of an impending "delightful surprise." Back at the Q manse, Edward threw Ethan out, and he and Monica welcomed Maya. They also discussed how wonderful their substitute housekeeper is. Then Tracy returned, and asked Maya how much cash she wants in order to disappear again. Horrified, Edward and Monica sent Tracy away, then Monica went to the hospital. Edward was impressed by Maya's poise, which he likened to his former flame, Mary-Mae. He noted that he was sad he waited too long to tell Mary-Mae how he felt. He never knew Bradley and botched things with Justus, so he wants to get it right with Maya. Maya thanked Edward for his help, but pointed out making her and her sister Zoe move into the mansion was borderline blackmail. Maya went for a drive, and ended up at an empty house. "No one lives here anymore," Lucky announced.
Back home from Shadybrook, Elizabeth told Jake and Cameron, "Mommy's all better." But Steve was concerned about her pushing herself. Later, Helena forced her way in and invited Liz to move her brood to Wyndemere. Elizabeth revealed she now has the results from Nikolas's second paternity test. At Metro Court, Carly told Olivia Robin wants to meet, and theorized it was about Sonny. Olivia mentioned she refuses to be an apologist for Sonny, because Dante wants him jailed. At G.H., Robin appealed to Liv to feel compassion for Sonny. A shocked Patrick denounced Robin for pleading Sonny's case. Olivia vowed to tell only the truth in court. Robin and Patrick then bickered over her advocacy for Sonny.
At Metro Court, Kristina asked Carly if Sonny ever beat her. Carly admitted their relationship is volatile, and while Sonny was sometimes emotionally and verbally abusive, "so was I." Carly explained that she was in an angry, insecure place when she first hooked up with Sonny — who didn't know anything about functional relationships, either. They each provoked screaming matches, but he never hit her. Sonny is not a batterer.
Dante asked his mother if she thinks he could ever abuse a woman. She said he only takes after Sonny's good side. She knows Sonny would never abuse a woman, because if he was ever going to hit one, "it would have been me." Back in the day, she got mad and punched Sonny in the jaw! "Sonny just froze," but didn't hit her back, because "Sonny does not hit women." Later, Luke asked Dante to help Lucky look into the accusations against Ethan, because Sonny will trust Dante if he says Ethan is innocent. Later, Ethan delivered the cigars, and Luke told Ethan he's going to the tropics to keep Tracy occupied — because "something very sweet" is headed Luke's way. When Tracy arrived, she wondered why Luke wanted to remain in PC. And then Skye sauntered in. "Blaze," Luke smiled.
Dante met Kristina at Kelly's and offered to help his sister make sure her attacker pays. He's worked a lot of domestics, and knows that abuse only gets worse. Kristina asked Dante if he thinks their dad is sorry for shooting him. She admitted she hates Sonny, but can't help wanting to love him. Kiefer entered and asked if they were talking about the beating. A suspicious Dante asked if Kiefer knows anything...
Thursday
Dante told Kiefer that he's determined to get to the bottom of his sister's beating, and asked Kiefer about the party she skipped. Kiefer said Kristina lied to him, "and look what happened." Elsewhere, Maya told Lucky that Mary-Mae was her great-grandmother. Lucky explained that nobody lives in the house anymore; he was the last, and left it because it housed too many ghosts. Maya revealed she is a med student with a little sister to support, and asked his opinion of Edward. Lucky called him an "ends justifies the means" kind of guy. Then he got a call from Dante about a lead on Kristina's attacker. At Kelly's, Lucky agreed Kiefer is suspicious, and mentioned Jason's suspicions about Kristina's timeline. Lucky went to question the guy who threw the party, while Dante canvassed Kristina's neighborhood. When they compared notes, they discovered Kiefer had left the party early, and his car was seen in the neighborhood that night. The guys summoned Kiefer back to Kelly's, where the boys played good cop/bad cop: "How pissed off were you?" Lucky asked, while Dante took Kiefer's side. Kiefer pointed out that Kristina was out of line that night, hinting that she got what she deserved.
At The Haunted Star, Tracy squared off with Skye, who was impressed by Ethan's looks. She mentioned her own quest for her birth parents, and Tracy demanded to know what Skye is up to. Then Edward arrived and introduced Maya to everyone, even as Tracy and Skye kept sniping at each other. Then Tracy left in disgust, going to Jax at Metro Court with an idea. Back at the Star, Luke asked Ethan to get Edward and Maya out of there. Alone, Luke asked Blaze, "Why did you come back?" He flirted shamelessly — until Tracy returned.
Nikolas arrived in time to watch Elizabeth read the paternity-test results for Helena. "It looks like you're gonna be a father again," she sighed. After Helena left, Nik vowed to protect Liz and the baby from Helena. Liz was upset that she's lost a chance to make up with Lucky, so she asked Nik to be available to her and the baby. Helena went to GH and paid off the lab tech for altering Nik's second test, as well. She hinted that she's going to destroy the Spencers, "using their own flesh and blood."
At Metro Court, a randy Kate and Coleman started smooching in a corridor when Judge Carroll strolled by and scolded him for not keeping his "horse in the barn." Meanwhile, Diane railed at Sonny for his outburst in the courtroom. She said their best chance of winning over the jury — suggesting that Sonny is a loving family man — is gone. At GH, Robin was subpoenaed to testify. Elsewhere, Olivia revealed to Johnny that she won a romantic getaway in a contest — but he wanted to stick around for the trial. Kate needled her cousin about being caught between Sonny and Johnny: "Whose side are you on?" Liv declared herself through with making excuses for Sonny. Kate warned that that Sonny is going to press for a relationship with Dante. Carly went to see Jason, who told her Robin will testify. Jason reminded Carly that her own testimony can may turn the case around.
Back in court, Claire recalled Johnny and asked about Claudia's birthday party. Johnny claimed Sonny intended to kill Claudia as revenge for Michael's coma. Claire puzzled everyone by taking Johnny off the stand before he could testify about Sonny's tirade against Claudia. Claire then called Robin to the stand. She acknowledged being friends since she was a kid, and that Sonny was kind to Stone. Claire asked Robin to recount Sonny's toast. Robin did it almost word-for-word, thanks to her photographic memory. He called his wife "a faithless bitch," and added, "Claudia has lied to us for the last time."
Friday
Lucky accused Kiefer of beating Kristina because she deserved it. Kiefer admitted she made him look like an idiot at the party. As he made up a story, he flashed back to the real events. Lucky warned Kiefer that Kristina will crack, so if he better confess to avoid being killed by Sonny. Kiefer suddenly realized they were running good cop/bad cop, and stalked off. The partners realized that Kiefer did it. Dante vowed not to let the “spoiled little punk get away with beating my sister.” At the lake house, Kristina was upset to learn that Dante and Lucky were still investigating. She accused her mother of lying about dropping the charges. Dante and Lucky went to The Haunted Star and told Luke they’re closing in on the real perp. Luke summoned Alexis to warn her that she’s going to owe his son an apology. But Alexis was resolute in believing her daughter.
Jason told Carly he’s prepared to fly Sonny to South America. Carly worried that the jury now sees Sonny as a violent man with a temper. On the island, Michael lamented being cut off from baseball spring training and all communications. Max said Diane told him the trial is going well. Michael secretly called Kristina, who told him the trial was going terribly. Michael reminded her that he killed Claudia, but Kristina pointed out that Sonny is guilty of other stuff.
On the witness stand, Robin recalled that Sonny told Claudia: “Thank God you’ll never bear my child.” However, Robin also called Sonny “one of the most decent and kind” people she knows, and never saw him abuse a woman. Leaving the stand, Robin feared she had hurt Sonny. Patrick tried to reassure her. Claire called Maxie to the stand, but Maxie was still in the hospital, trying to run Crimson until she was served with a subpoena. She decided to make herself look too sick to testify, and Lulu was angry at her for protecting Sonny. Judge Carroll declared a recess to assess whether Maxie can testify, ultimately deciding to bring the court to G.H. Outside court, Sonny embraced Robin and insisted he didn’t expect her to lie. Sonny next went to the restaurant and told Jason and Carly that things are going badly -- and he worried about Maxie. Jason assured him that she won’t implicate Michael. Back at G.H., the trial resumed with Maxie recounting what she saw that night: Sonny driving Michael’s car. Claire asked if Michael was in he car with him.
At the Star, Skye embraced ex-husband Jax, who was elated to see her. He mentioned he’s separated from Carly, and has a daughter. Tracy chortled over distracting Skye from the frustrated Luke. Jax took Skye to Metro Court, where they ran into Warren Bauer. Jax recapped the Kristina situation for Skye, and how Carly resents him for trying to put Sonny in jail. Kiefer arrived and told his dad that the police think he hit Kristina. “What do I do?” he asked. Warren dismissed Kristina as the “unstable” daughter of a “public menace.” He urged his son to figure it out on his own. Kiefer resolved to get K to reinstate the charges against Ethan. Later, Dante and Lucky told Warren and Melinda they are investigating Kiefer. Meanwhile, Kiefer went to the lake house and told Kristina that the police have figured out he really hit her. Kristina got scared, and he got angry, then hit her across the face. Later, Kiefer stood over the fallen Kristina, screaming, “This is all your fault! You made me do this!” He ran off, nearly bowling over Alexis at the door. Alexis was shocked to find Kristina bloody and unmoving.
