GH Week of November 10, 2008

Monday

When Jax noted that Carly spent the night with Sonny she insisted nothing happened, but Jax was still furious. "Please don't give up," she pleaded, but he wasn't interested in her explanations. He accused her of being "addicted to Sonny," told her to sign the divorce papers, and left. For his part, Sonny made sure Karpov was dead, while Olivia cringed. He retrieved his shell casings as Liv dialed 911, but she couldn't speak. Later, when Mac arrived, he told Harper it looked like Sonny got his revenge. A shaken Olivia went to GH, where she asked Elizabeth how she could stand to be with a man like Jason, who kills as if he's changing his socks. Liz said, "It's kinda personal," but Olivia insisted, "Murder is murder. And it's wrong." Sonny went to Carly and said, "I need an alibi." She said, "You destroyed my life tonight," and wondered why she shouldn't destroy his. Sobbing, she showed him the divorce papers, but he wanted an alibi — and a snack. She suggested maybe it's time he paid for his sins, noting that she wasted her last chance with Jax in order to bring Sonny a gun. "That's how sick my thinking is," she wailed. Carly pointed out they don' love each other, but "I can't stop." She brought him Toaster Tarts, which he ate without complaining this time. He even thanked her! She bemoaned always helping him at her own expense. He started to leave, but Harper arrived, intent on questioning them both. Olivia returned to the crime scene, where Mac recognized her and asked if she knows who killed Karpov.

At the coffeehouse, Jason demanded Spinelli locate Sam, because Jerry has lots of plastique to plow up something big. Spinelli wondered if Sam is Jerry's accomplice or captive. Aboard the Gibraltar, Jerry told Sam he tried to go straight, but didn't have it in him. While he waxed poetic, she sent a distress call, which quickly brought the Coast Guard. Realizing what she did, he smacked her. Jerry convinced the lone Guardsman the beacon was activated by accident and sent him packing. Sam pointed out that Jax will be saddened by Jerry's "death," but Jerry noted Jax would get over it. Back at the coffeehouse, Spinelli found a Coast Guard report of a false alarm involving one "James Brosnan." Jason recognized Jerry's alias.

In the woodland cabin, Luke and Laura began to kiss — then Lulu and her brothers arrived. "I can't believe my whole family's together," Laura bubbled. "It's a miracle." Laura promised to tell her family if she feels a relapse coming on, and demanded that everyone promise never to withhold the truth from her again. Luke said the kids didn't know the remarriage ceremony was "symbolic," and agreed not to do anything like that again. Lulu started to ask Luke about Tracy, but Nikolas' helicopter arrived and brought them back to L.A. At the hotel, Tracy told Scott Laura was safe. He needled Tracy about Laura being the one true love of Luke's life. When the group returned, Nik offered to bring everyone back to Port Charles. Laura insisted on thanking Tracy and apologizing for the way she was treated at the "wedding." Tracy warned her, "I'm not giving up my husband."

Back at GH, Patrick told Anna the transfusions were keeping Robin alive, but the longer the DIC lasts, the worse her chances. Anna demanded he think like a father, not a doctor. When Robin asked about Emma, he noted she's surviving his "mediocre" fathering skills. Anna ordered him to fetch Emma, and warned Robin not to give up. "Get your strength from me," she commanded, grabbing her hand. "Emma really needs you." Robin promised to try. When Patrick returned with Emma, Robin vowed she's going to survive. Looking at Emma, she promised, "We're gonna have the best life ever."

Sonny and Carly declined to answer Harper's questions without a lawyer, so, despite a conspicuous lack of evidence, Harper arrested Sonny for Karpov's murder.

Tuesday

Jax told Carly that Karpov had been murdered and said she must have been telling the truth about Sonny being at her house for her sex. Carly was angry with Jax for the constant push-and-pull of their relationship. Jax told her all he wanted from her was honesty: Does she love him, or is she too involved with Sonny? Carly promised Jax she loved him. Jax told Carly he thought they had a chance and that he missed her. Carly told Jax she couldn't stop herself from helping Sonny. Jax left. Diane showed up to question Carly. After evading Diane's questions, Olivia and Carly talked about what they saw.

Sonny wasn't too thrilled to see Olivia. The two argued over what happened. Sonny wanted Olivia to keep quiet. As she left, Diane arrived. She told him that Carly's story better match his. Sasha paid Sonny a visit. Diane returned to the police station and told Sonny they were going to have an uphill battle. Carly arrived at the police station. Jax was there as well. Mac demanded that Carly make a statement.

Spinelli slowed Jason down with a queasy stomach, but didn't hesitate to pull out his laptop to find Jerry's ship. Elizabeth called Jason to report Robin had stabilized. She asked him if he'd like to meet up, but he (of course!) said no.

Jerry refused Sam coffee, telling her that soon it would be time for a fake death and a real death. Sam attempted to taunt Jerry about his failures as a criminal. Jerry finally gave her some coffee. When she was alone, Sam struggled to break free. Jerry ran into Spinelli at the docks. He clumsily tried to fight Jerry, but Jerry knocked him out. When he came to, Spinelli revealed to Jason that he put a tracking device in Jerry's pocket! Jerry began assembling explosives as Sam begged him to reconsider. Jason found Sam just as Jerry returned to the room. The two began to fight and a gun went off.

The Spencers returned home. Laura was reunited with Leslie. Leslie defended Luke when Laura expressed her anger toward him for lying about Tracy. Leslie wanted to cook dinner, but was interrupted when a doctor from the clinic arrived and told Laura she needed to go to France. Everyone promised to support Laura, who didn't know what to do. Everyone left so Luke and Laura could talk. Later, Luke went to the Quartermaine mansion to talk to Tracy. Edward attempted to meddle, but Big Alice took care of him. Luke assured Tracy he was staying with her.

Johnny arrived at the Spencer house. Lulu was ecstatic and introduced him to Laura. Laura told Johnny she was glad her daughter had fallen in love with such a fine young man and hugged him. Nikolas came back and introduced a nervous Nadine to Laura. The two bonded, and Laura said Nadine was perfect for her son. Lucky brought Elizabeth to see Laura. Elizabeth and Lucky told Laura that Jake is Jason's son. Elizabeth apologized to Laura for lying, but Laura was sympathetic, having had a similar situation when Nikolas was born. Laura realized that Tracy was responsible for the "doctor" showing up at her door. She confronted Tracy, who was unwilling to back down.

Sasha spoke to a mystery voice over the phone. The voice told Sasha that everyone connected to Sonny would soon pay…

Wednesday

Jason and Sam leaped overboard as the Gibraltar exploded — with a laughing Jerry still aboard. On the docks, Sam vowed not to say anything to Lucky. At GH, Maxie needled Elizabeth about fawning over Jason, and so Liz wondered why a guy like Spinelli is interested in Maxie. Maxie went to Spinelli and vented about Liz, and then Sam and Jason arrived, soaking wet. Maxie started mouthing off about Jason and Sam's "bizarre water sports," so Spinelli ushered her out. Maxie went straight to the nurses' station, where she told Epiphany (and Liz) about seeing Jason and Sam together and soaking wet. A stricken Liz rushed to the penthouse, where she found Sam in sweats with Jason. "What the hell are you doing with her?" Liz demanded.

At the PCPD, Carly told Mac, Harper and Jax that Sonny was with her when Karpov was shot. "We were having sex," she confessed. "I'm not proud of it," Sonny admitted, backing her up. "It happens." A disgusted Jax stalked off, but Mac wasn't convinced. Sonny took Carly aside and asked why she lied for him. She insisted she told "the lie everyone would believe," and the lie "that would cause both of us the most damage." And now Jax is gone forever. Sonny warned Carly they're not getting back together, and she flipped out, because she doesn't want a relationship with him. "The next time you kill someone and you need an alibi, don't call me," she hissed. Then Mac told her about the freighter explosion, and how Jax had been notified that Jerry was probably on board, since the cargo ship was (inexplicably) "registered" to Jerry. She rushed to the docks, where Jax told her there's no way Jerry could have survived. Then Jax got a call, but no one was on the line. "I think it was Jerry," he said. Outside PCPD, Sasha warned Sonny, "You'll go last, of course."

At the old Quartermaine place, Laura warned Tracy she can fight for what's hers — but Tracy noted Luke isn't Laura's anymore. Tracy said it would be better for Luke if Laura left him alone; he's changed over the years. What did they ever have in common? Tracy thinks she's more compatible with Luke because "We're cynics," and Luke "gets to be himself." Laura insisted "Luke loves me, and he always will." When she left, Tracy started crying. Later, Lulu arrived and thanked Tracy for giving Luke a reason to live. Lulu was sure Luke would choose to go with Laura, and advised Tracy to get out first. Laura returned to the Spencer house and called a family meeting. She told Luke that Tracy plans to fight for him. And while Laura was confident their bond is still strong, maybe they shouldn't be together right now. "I am going to pursue my therapy…in France," she declared. Then Laura met with the kids individually. Lucky encouraged her to do what she has to do. "My old life is lost to me," she noted, so she intends to build a new one. She's proud of the adults Lucky and Liz have become. He said he's with Sam now, and they'll visit her in France. Then Nik said he's grateful for whatever time they spent together. She noticed he still misses Emily, and he said he's trying to move on. She told him the only cure is "the passage of time," so he should live his life. Then Laura praised Lulu for her strength and encouraged her to love again, with Johnny — who is "a very nice young man." Laura advised her to always trust each other and be honest, and don't expect love to be easy. They embraced, and then Luke arrived. Laura invited everyone to France — including significant others and children. At the air field, Laura told Luke she's glad he's "peaceful." He praised her generosity and maturity. And he offered to go to France with her. "I need you to be well," she said, declining. "I love you." They kissed passionately. "Be happy," she said. "Be well," he answered. When he asked, "Will you come back?" she looked confused and didn't answer. "Goodbye, my angel," he whispered. Aboard the plane, Scott came out from behind a curtain.

Thursday

Outside PCPD, Sasha warned Sonny: "They're going to wipe you out — and make you watch." Sonny insisted he acted in self-defense — and revenge for shooting Kate. Sasha insisted she knows for a fact that Karpov did not shoot Kate. "When death finally comes, you'll be begging for it," she sneered and left him.

At Kelly's, Mike tried to see if Mercedes was open to letting Sonny sneak a visit with Morgan; she didn't seem to be. Nikolas and Lucky arrived, talking about how Laura is in France now. Lucky told his brother that Jason is Jake's real father, but Lucky loves Jake like his own. Later, Sonny went to Kelly's and recapped about Carly's alibi to Mike.

Caught in Jason's penthouse, Sam insisted, "It's not what it looks like," but Elizabeth thought it looked like the penthouse wasn't too dangerous for Sam. Sam tried to explain about the undercover operation, but got frustrated and left. Jason insisted "nothing happened," but Liz said she was hurt that he can go on adventures with Sam and doesn't trust Liz enough to tell her. He played the "I don't want the mother of my child endangered" card. She told him Laura now knows he's Jake's father. Also, Liz now regrets all the lies she's told and wants her relationship with Jason out in the open. "Do you want me, or not?" she asked. "Yes," he replied, and they kissed. He said if they're together, it will mean 24/7 bodyguards, but Liz was ecstatic. She left to pick up the boys, but not before extracting a promise that he would come over for dinner. "I'll be there," he vowed. Sam found Lucky waiting for her at home. He said the Coast Guard didn't find Jerry's body, but decided he's dead anyway. Sam told Lucky she loves him and wants a future with him. Back at the penthouse, Cody told Jason the Russians are coming — and Jason's a target. Jason called Liz to cancel (for her own protection), and she freaked out and threw her phone.

Nikolas met up with Nadine at the nurses' station, then took a call from his immigration lawyer, allowing Nadine to overhear his INS troubles. "It looks like I could be deported," he sighed. "We won't let that happen," she chirped. Later, Nadine asked Leyla about immigration problems — and got it into her head that Nik actually wants to marry her to avoid deportation.

On the waterfront, Jax said he's holding out hope for his brother, but noted, "I was a fool — about Jerry and about you." He knew Carly was lying to cover for Sonny, but that was the problem: "Every time Sonny needs you, you're always there." He said he cannot count on her — but Sonny can. "You helped Sonny get away with murder." When he wouldn't listen to her, she left. Meanwhile, Maxie brought Kate home and they shared girl talk about the old days with Olivia and Sonny in Bensonhurst. Then Jax arrived, so Kate sent Maxie to the office. Jax told Kate that Carly got Sonny sprung by telling the cops they were busy having sex at the time of Karpov's murder. Kate was stricken. As for Carly, she went to Kelly's looking for Jax. Sonny thanked her for lying but Carly was furious about losing Jax. Sonny reminded her, "We're not going back, that's all I'm saying." Carly went ballistic, noting the next time he needs help, she's going to throw this incident back in his face. Sonny went to Kate's and started to tell her about his alibi, but she already knew. And she didn't care if it was a lie or the truth. "It doesn't matter any more," she hissed. "We're through." He noted Karpov stabbed him and Carly saved him. Kate accused him of turning to Carly at every opportunity, and was mad that it took so long to realize that he and Carly are perfect for each other. Kate finally understood that she comes second to Carly and to his job. She called the breakup "irrevocable," and threw him out.

Carly was on the docks looking for Jax when she got a call from Morgan, which Jax eavesdropped on before disappearing. Meanwhile, some Russian thugs busted up Kelly's. Maxie saw — and one thug saw her! Sasha called Sonny and told him, "The end has begun," while basking in the flames of Kelly's...

Friday

Lulu asked Johnny if the Zaccharas burned Kelly's. Back at Crimson Point, Johnny quizzed Anthony about the chaos in Port Charles. He said Karpov did it all as revenge against Sonny, but it could work to their advantage. He thinks Sonny will need the Zacchara organization for protection because Jason will distance himself from Sonny. "I hope you're ready to meet your new brother-in-law," Anthony chortled. Later, Johnny told Lulu his father will be happy to manipulate the mob war so Johnny comes out on top. Lulu said, "I love you," and they kissed.

Maxie told Jason and Spinelli she saw a gang speaking a foreign language torch Kelly's — and she recognized one thug with a tattoo on his wrist. Maxie was offended that Jason worried she would run her mouth about his mob business. Jason privately warned Spinelli that Maxie has a little tunnel-vision Carly in her. Meanwhile, Sasha reported to a voice on speaker phone that Maxie saw the gang, and got the order to teach her a lesson. When Maxie left the coffeehouse, the Tattooed Thug followed her. Sonny visited Mike at the hospital, and explained the diner was torched because of him. Sonny vowed to rebuild it. He felt guilty — but noted he could not let an attack on his dad go unpunished. When Kate arrived, Mike promised to be ready for their next wedding ceremony. "There isn't going to be a new wedding," she said. "Sonny and I are through." Then she and Sonny argued about how Carly will always be the third person in the room. Olivia eavesdropped as Kate said Sonny always turns to Carly, no matter what. He warned her that with the Russians on the warpath, everybody close to him will be a target, but he's taking precautions to protect her and Mike. She called him insane, and walked away. Sonny decided to go talk to Jason. At that moment, Bernie was telling Jason that the transport yard was destroyed, and the men were furious at Sonny for precipitating this war. Back at GH, Olivia told Kate she hired private security because of Sonny's mob war. Then Olivia got decked out in black leather, went to the coffeehouse and demanded to see Jason, but he wasn't there. So she sat in his office to wait. While she was there, some Russian thugs busted up the place and then set it on fire — making wrecking the place first a pointless waste of energy.

In her hospital room, Robin assured Patrick he would have been fine without her. Later, Matt visited, and Robin asked him to babysit — Patrick! She needed a break from his smothering. Later, she admitted to Emma that both she and Patrick are control freaks. Epiphany said Kelly cleared mother and child to be released. "The Scorpio-Drakes are going home," Robin chirped.

Sam arrived at GH to assure Elizabeth that she and Jason were not sneaking behind Liz's back, and she's not interested in rekindling with Jason. Liz grumbled about her problems with Jason, noting that maybe love is not enough. Later, Maxie (followed by the Tattooed Thug) visited Sam's apartment and confessed she sent Liz to the penthouse. Sam admitted it was probably a good thing Liz interrupted them. Sam then admitted she loved the adrenaline rush of her adventure with Jason. The Tattooed Thug prepared to enter Sam's place with a baseball bat. Jason went to the nurses' station and told Liz he will wait for her on the roof. When she joined him, she whined that he doesn't want to be "this angry, bitchy person." He revealed he missed dinner because he's marked for death because of Sonny. Then he noticed his office was on fire. Inside, Olivia realized she was trapped. Sonny arrived just in time to find the offices ablaze.
