General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of November 26, 2007

Monday

Jason visited Sonny in the hospital, and told him he wasn't sure Zacchara killed Emily. He explained how enraged Nikolas had been, and how he had attacked Jason. He recalled that he tied Nikolas up, but he had no idea who had cut him loose. Sonny told Jason he needed to take some time off work to get himself together. Kate came in, and Jason left. Sonny reminded Kate how dangerous his life was, and that people would continue trying to kill him. She, of course, refused to let him scare her off and they kissed, just as Carly walked in. Carly asked for time alone with Sonny, and both Kate and Sonny
expressed their desire for Carly to accept Kate. Carly told Sonny she thought they should tell the kids about Emily together. Elsewhere in the
hospital, Trevor asked Patrick how Zacchara was doing, but Patrick wouldn't release any information to someone who wasn't family. In Zacchara's room, however, Patrick went over his injuries with Johnny and Trevor, who Johnny allowed in. Anthony was paralyzed from the neck down, and would never walk again. Johnny insisted he be alone with his father so he could say goodbye before he was taken to a facility for the criminally insane. Anthony warned him to use Trevor to secure his position, and then kill Trevor before Trevor killed
him.

Det. Harper showed up at Carly's house with more questions. He was trying to confirm that the same person that killed Emily had strangled her, but she
told him that wasn't possible since Zacchara killed Emily and she knew Zacchara hadn't strangled her, because he was busy with Jason and Elizabeth. Det.
Harper was surprised to find there could have been two killers running around Wyndemere that night.

Sam went to see Nikolas at Wyndemere. She was worried about him; she knew he wasn't eating or sleeping. He told her when the funeral was, and Sam assured him she would be there. Nikolas was surprised the Quartermaines were even
allowing him to come to the funeral. He talked about his regrets, and Sam tried to convince him he couldn't live that way. After she left, Jason
showed up and asked Nikolas to recount the night for him. Together they went through it step by step, and Nikolas blamed Jason for leaving Emily
unprotected. Nikolas said he killed her, but when Jason asked if that was really true he admitted he didn't remember. The conversation got heated as
Jason became frustrated with Nikolas' inability to remember anything. Det. Harper walked in as Nik told Jason they had both failed her. Jason left, and
Nikolas told the detective that he didn't remember anything about Emily's murder, but that he knew Jason wasn't the killer. After Harper left, Nikolas
fell asleep and had a nightmare in which he strangled Emily.

Luke woke up to find Lucky at his bedside. He asked Lucky if he'd had any luck searching for Emily's killer, unaware he was actually informing Lucky of Emily's murder. Lucky listened in disbelief as Luke gave him what details he knew. Tracy came in as Lucky wreaked havoc in the room. She insisted he stop immediately, and explained Luke's condition. Lucky left, and Luke let Tracy know he was not happy that she lied to him about Lucky's whereabouts. She told him she would do whatever it took to keep him alive. Lucky ran into
Elizabeth in the hall. As Jason listened nearby, Lucky laid into her for her lies, and blamed himself for not protecting Emily. Tracy was shocked to find
Monica working, who blew up at her when she expressed her concern. They went into Luke's room, where Monica reviewed his charts. She warned him if he didn't get the quadruple bypass, he would probably die. Tracy and Monica
left, but Tracy returned just in time to find Luke tearing wires off his body and climbing out of bed. She demanded he prove his feelings for her by
getting back in bed.

Lulu packed up her things, and prepared to move out of Jason's penthouse.

Sam found Lucky on the docks and told him how sorry she was about Emily. He talked about his history with Emily, and the demise of his relationship with Elizabeth. Sam pointed out that he didn't have to lose Jake.

Jason went to Elizabeth's house. They talked about Emily, and Liz did her best to console him. She offered to bring Jake down to cheer him up. She
went upstairs and came back down with Cameron and Jake. Just as Jason took Jake into his arms, Lucky walked in. Before anyone had a chance to speak, Cameron ran in screaming, “Daddy”, and ran into Lucky's arms. Jason gave Jake back to Elizabeth, and left, but not before hearing Lucky say he missed both his boys.

Carly and Sonny, who had been released from the hospital, went back to Carly's. They sat the boys down to tell them about Emily. Carly took Morgan
upstairs, and once they were gone, Michael asked if it was the same man who killed Leticia. Sonny told him they thought it was and Michael became
infuriated that Sonny hadn't killed Emily's killer, and stormed out.

Tuesday

Luke sneaked back into bed, but Tracy said she spotted him in the hall. Lulu arrived with Tracy's cell phone, prompting Luke to figure out that Lulu moved back into the Quartermaine mansion — but not to be closer to her sick father. She defended lying about Lucky to keep Luke from having another heart attack because she loves him. Later, Luke had trouble breathing while dressing up as a doctor.

Jason tried to report to Sonny on business, but Sonny told him to take time off and go to Emily's funeral. Jason said he's skipping it for Monica's sake, and advised Sonny to do the same. At the Q manse, Alice brought Michael and Morgan to visit the grieving Monica. The boys were going out for root beer floats instead of going to the funeral. In the cold halls of Wyndemere, Nikolas flashed back to seeing Emily before the Black and White Ball. Then he suddenly realized all her belongings were missing. He summoned Alfred and screamed at him to move everything back. Alexis chided him, so he then asked Alfred politely. She offered to help him control his anger. "No one can help me," he pronounced. Meanwhile, Lucky ran into Elizabeth at the church, and they agreed to put aside their issues to take care of Nik. Later, outside Kelly's, a furious Michael told Jax that Sonny should "take out" the guy who killed Emily, but Jax insisted Emily wouldn't want that. After Nik put Em's engagement ring under her picture, Liz and Lucky arrived to take him to the funeral — "All for one, one for all." He scoffed at the old Four Musketeers concept, but agreed. At the penthouse, Jason told the Jackal he's not going to the funeral, but Spinelli pointed out Jason is all Monica has left. Elsewhere, Sonny visited Monica, who ordered him to stay away from the ceremony. Sonny said he really did love Emily. "Emily is dead because of you, Sonny," Monica fumed, pointing out that Sonny destroyed Jason's life and Emily in turn. Sonny told her Jason needs to attend the funeral. "I hope you rot in hell," Monica snarled before throwing him out.

Later, Nik, Liz and Lucky found Edward inside the church. Edward said Nik helped Emily get through her mother's death, called Liz more like a sister than Em's friend, and praised Lucky for staying in Em's life. Nik blamed himself for Emily's death: She wanted to cancel the ball, but he wouldn't listen. Outside, Kelly and Lainey reminisced about Emily's drinking prowess and called her "funny...and human." When Monica arrived at the church Ned and Dillon offered their support, and Jax hugged her. Georgie arrived with Maxie, who snarked at Dillon. He and Georgie exchanged awkward chit-chat until he asked why she shut him out of her life. "I met somebody," she replied. He wondered if he knows the guy. Lesley praised Monica's maternal skills. Ric caught up with Skye outside the church and asked to sit with her. Mike and Bobbie arrived together and noted the pain of losing a child, like he lost Courtney. Inside, Jax suggested Alexis stay away from Jerry "for your own good." Logan stopped Lulu and talked about Luke. Tracy expressed condolences to Monica that made her tear up, while Liz and Lucky recalled fun, funny times with Emily. Sonny returned home to find Kate ready to attend the funeral, but he explained why they weren't going. He noted he owes Emily his life for helping him get treatment. Kate insisted he isn't responsible for her death. Carly arrived a the penthouse and urged Jason to attend the ceremony for his own sake. At the church, Monica asked for a moment alone with Nik; neither was sure they could do this. Monica noted how much Emily loved Nik and Spencer. Outside, a nervous Jason tentatively approached the church.

Wednesday

At Emily's funeral service, Edward suggested that Monica secretly wanted Jason there, but she scoffed. On cue, Jason strolled into the vestibule and remained hidden, listening, as the service began. Father Coates sang Emily's praises. "Emily is at peace now," he intoned. Elizabeth took the podium to eulogize her best friend's "grace, dignity" and "unqualified love." She called Em "an iron fist in a velvet glove" who loved her adopted family. "You should all be very proud," she told the Quartermaines. Then she praised Emily's friends and co-workers: Epiphany, Patrick, Robin, Lainey and Kelly.
Liz called Em "my rock, my support system." And then she called Jason Emily's "hero." Jason suddenly appeared in the doorway, but Liz soldiered on, recounting the tale of the "Four Musketeers." She told Nik that Em loved her "fairy-tale prince" more than anyone. This triggered a mournful music montage of good times and sex in Nik's mind. After Father Coates ended the service, Tracy, Ned and Dillon shared embraces. Liz approached Lucky and told him she doesn't want to fight anymore. He agreed, but wondered if he could ever forgive her. Epiphany and Dr. Ford returned to GH (in formal wear) and bemoaned the loss of a future doctor. Patrick and Robin discussed how they shouldn't waste any chance at happiness and talked about true love as Leyla watched from a nearby wheelchair. "Did we give up on us too easily?" Patrick asked Robin, prompting Leyla to flee. "I was never happier than I was with you," Robin admitted, but she was wary of him suddenly wanting to become a father. He admitted that ain't gonna happen. Back at the church, Edward wondered how to get on with life. Ned wondered what would Emily want?, then decided she would want them to take care of each other. Lucky wanted to go back to Wyndemere with Nikolas, but the mourning prince peeled out before his bro could jump in the car. So Lucky went to the empty Kelly's, where Sam spotted him. "I wanna be with you," he said. They started smooching, and left.

Carly told Michael and Morgan it's okay to cry over Emily. Then she bubbled about them remaining her babies. "You want another baby? Just have one," groused Michael. Later, Johnny was waiting for them. Michael insisted that his father's enemy cannot be trusted, so Carly sent him upstairs. Johnny doubted that his father killed Emily and fretting about Lulu's safety because his lifestyle is too dangerous. (Here we go again....) When Lulu arrived, Carly hid Johnny. Fresh from Em's service, Lulu wanted to tell Carly she loves her, and likened Carly to her mother. "I always wanted a daughter," Carly confessed. Lulu suggested she try to have another child. Carly noted it's possible she wouldn't be able to get pregnant again, but it would be fun to try. When Jax arrived home the girls shared a giggle.

Dressed as a doctor, Luke made for the elevators even as he gasped for breath. Scott spotted him and chortled over the prospect of Luke dropping dead. Next thing we saw was Luke being loaded back into bed by Regina. Dr. Julian warned Luke his partying lifestyle must end, but Luke bristled. The heart doc warned that Luke could die without a bypass, and Regina noted that David Letterman and Regis Philbin had both survived bypasses. Scott encouraged Luke to refuse the surgery and die. Later, Luke tried to get out of bed again, but Tracy stopped him. "The doctors are not gods," he growled. Tracy recapped Emily's funeral by noting that Liz "droned on and on" and "Nikolas wandered around like a zombie." She warned Luke not to die and make her attend another funeral.

Somewhere, someone texted, "It wasn't Anthony" to someone. Liz returned home to find a teary Jason sitting in her darkened living room. They embraced silently. Back at Wyndemere, Nik suddenly heard Emily call out "Nikolas!" He turned to see Em grinning at him.

Thursday

Kate came to Sonny's to call the police about an intruder, but Sonny told
her it was just Max, who was checking her "new" security system (which was
wired into Sonny's place). Kate was furious at the bodyguards and the boats.
Max begged her not to break up with the boss because Sonny will go back to
Carly. Kate feared she was just a pit
stop on Sonny's road to reconciliation with his ex. Sonny insisted that
won't happen. Kate said she doesn't want to be perceived as "under your
protection," and wants to be a magazine editor again. Sonny said if she
wants to be with him, she has to be protected. "I don't do ultimatums," she
huffed, and insisted he remove all the security. When he refused, she said
until he does, "We're not seeing each other!"

At her house, Elizabeth led Jason upstairs, where they got down to business.
Meanwhile, Jax and Carly got busy themselves — until she stopped him. She
demanded he fetch her a snack. When he left, she dug out an ovulation meter.
When Jax returned with pizza chips and champagne, she was wearing a green
negligee and lamenting all the death around them. She spit the champagne
back into the glass, arousing Jax's ... suspicions. But she distracted him with
more kisses. Back at the love nest, a fully-dressed Jason and Liz reflected
on her performance — no, not in bed, at Emily's funeral. "I love you," he
said, noting he thanks God every day for her and Jake. When Gram dropped off
the kids, Jason told Cameron that Emily loved chocolate cake, just like he
does. Liz took Cam upstairs for a bath, leaving Jake with his dad. Jason
told Jake he would have loved Em. When Liz returned, he mentioned, "He's
got my hands." They enjoyed watching him sleep. Liz noted, "Emily would want
us to be there for each other." They exchanged I love yous and kissed, then
he left.

Georgie brought chicken soup to the penthouse for a sick Spinelli, but he
sneezed and spilled it all over her. After changing into a robe upstairs,
she returned, when the Jackal called her "beautiful" and kissed her! Or not.
Georgie was daydreaming. The real Spinelli was obsessing over the chemical
make-up of soup. They discussed the murky origins of the robe she was
wearing (Was it Jax's? Brenda's?). Then he noted that Georgie "harbors a
romantic soul," which should be exposed. Then there was a knock at the door:
It was Nadine — with chicken soup.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas was able to not only have a conversation with Emily —
he could touch her! "If I've gone crazy, I don't care." he said, kissing
her. He insisted he'd killed her during a blackout, but she claimed, "You
could never hurt me." He told her he kept her ring; she vowed to always love
him. He wondered if he had conjured a vision of her to seek forgiveness. She
noted the last thing she remembered from the ball was him looking for her.... Then, Alfred knocked on the door. When he entered with Nik's supper, Alfred
didn't see Emily standing in the middle of the room. "I really am insane,"
Nik realized. As Emily looked stricken and insisted that she is real, Nik
tried to rationalize seeing her. She couldn't recall what happened after he
grabbed her. But he couldn't remember killing her. "I'm still dead," she
whispered. He answered by pointing out he can talk to her and hold her — he doesn't care how or why. "You're here," he recited over and over, and
they embraced.

Friday

At the hospital, Jax checked with Elizabeth on Jerry's condition, then ran into Sonny. They discussed Zacchara's situation and the murder spree. Sonny reassured Jax that he put extra security on Carly and the kids. Jax claimed the murders were Sonny's fault because they related to some vendetta against him. Sonny disagreed. Bobbie was speaking at Emily's memorial service at the hospital chapel when everyone's beepers started going off. The staff rushed to the ER where they met incoming patient from a car accident, a woman on her way to her wedding. After examining her, Robin and Patrick were pessimistic about her prognosis. The bride-to-be's family piled into the ER, including the wedding party and the fiancé, demanding answers. Patrick broke the news that she needs emergency brain surgery and promised to do everything he could for her. The groom kissed his fiancée on the forehead before they wheeled her into surgery.

Jason thanked Carly for getting him to go to Emily's service. Carly confided in Jason how Jax wants a baby. She said she was afraid she might not be able to conceive, and was worried about the toll that "trying and trying" could take on her marriage. So Carly admitted she's been secretly trying to get pregnant, so Jax won't be disappointed if she doesn't. Jax walked in and asked what would he be disappointed about. Carly covered as Jason left but Jax wouldn't let it drop. Carly left and went to see Kelly at the hospital for fertility help. Kelly had to excuse herself for an emergency page; she was needed to work on the injured bride. Kelly informed the family that she needs to perform an emergency hysterectomy to save her. The case hit home with Patrick especially as he listened to Robin's emotional and impassioned talk with the woman's family. Patrick pulled Robin aside and urged her to reconcile with him. Robin suggested that their interests and life goals were too divergent. Patrick pulled Robin into an emotional kiss.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas was haunted by another vision of Emily: "Is it true? I'm dead?" Emily asked, handing him today's newspaper. Emily tried to reassure Nikolas that he didn't kill her. When he questioned if she was really there, she hugged and kissed him. "I know the newspaper says that I'm dead, but I love you as much as I always have," Emily said, holding Nikolas in a tight embrace. Nikolas became emotional when he touched her hair and recalled the moment he touched her and she wasn't breathing. Alexis walked in but clearly did not see Emily. Alexis offered her support during his grief, and suggested that whatever problem he was suffering from wasn't going to go away just because Emily died. When Alexis left Det. Harper came to visit. Harper told Nikolas that the mask found at the crime scene was splattered with Nikolas' blood, so he'd have to arrest Nikolas for Emily's murder, while "Emily" looked on.

Johnny took a seat at his father's desk. "What must it be like to hold your father's power?" Trevor asked. "I'm trying to remember what my father was like before he went crazy," Johnny confided. He tried to dismiss Trevor, but Trevor insisted Johnny needs him for guidance as he takes over the business. Johnny rejected that help and went to pack. After packing, Trevor convinced Johnny that they need each other to survive and thrive. Trevor suggested they hold a strategy session after Johnny unpacks. Lulu arrived and was shocked to see Johnny settling into his father's home, instead of moving out. Lulu berated Johnny for his apparent 180.

Lucky came to the hospital to visit Luke and ran into Lulu. Lulu noted how agitated Lucky was. He said it was because of Emily. Lulu asked if he'd started using alcohol or drugs, but Lucky said he was still sober. Lulu was enraged to learn that Johnny is a suspect in Emily's murder. Meanwhile, Sonny and Jason discussed the Zacchara situation, Johnny's troubles and their struggles with their own children. Jason visited Elizabeth and said they need to figure out what happens next. Elizabeth admitted how comforting his presence has been lately. As they talked there was a knock at the door — it was Lucky. "We need to talk about Jake," said Lucky on the doorstep. Lucky told Elizabeth that it's too dangerous for Jake to be around Jason, and expressed his desire to reassert himself as Jake's father.

Trevor paid Sonny a visit with a take-it-or-leave-it, one-time offer. As a thank you for saving Ric's life, Trevor offered a truce between him and the Zacchara family — "or else."
