General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of October 6, 2008

Monday

On the docks, Nadine made sure that Nikolas caught her kissing Spinelli. Nik appeared nonplussed and after he walked away, Spinelli realized that Nadine kissed him for Nik's benefit. A confused Nikolas went to the hospital and talked about the situation with Elizabeth. Liz pointed out the obvious, that Nadine was smitten with him. Meanwhile, Nadine babbled to Spinelli that she's not even in Nikolas's league. Later, Nikolas found Spinelli and, in his own Spinelli way, he advised the prince to share his true feelings with Nadine.

Carly told Jax that since they're divorcing, there's no reason for her to hold onto her shares of Metro Court. Carly informed Jax she's going to Montreal on business. Jax stated he was, too, and Carly was waiting for Jax to offer her a ride. He eventually did, but Carly turned him down, stating that she could get to where she needed to go without his help.

At G.H, as Olivia took a call from her son, Dante, Kate told Patrick that Dante was Sonny's son. Patrick assured Kate that she'll be okay but she fell back to sleep before Olivia re-entered the room. Patrick informed Olivia that her cousin's prognosis looked good and he advised her not to push Kate's buttons. Alone, a tearful Olivia thanked Kate for not spilling the beans to Sonny about being Dante's father.

Jason broke the news to Sonny that he's not going to retaliate for Kate's shooting. Jason said he wasn't willing to go to war on circumstantial evidence. Sonny was furious and screamed, "What kind of message is that sending? The only way to make sure this doesn't happen again is to make sure Karpov pays with his life!" Jason insisted he was loyal but pointed out Sonny's emotions were clouding his decisions. Sonny called Jason weak. "You were like a brother to me," Sonny bemoaned. “And now, you're nothing.”

Ric and Claudia shamelessly flirted at Metro Court, where RIc reminded her of their "agreement." "Walk me home and we'll see," Claudia purred. Claudia was most appreciative of Ric's efforts in winning Johnny's freedom, as Ric slipped off her boot and gave her a foot rub. Claudia slipped off Ric's jacket. Ric took Claudia's face and they debated the chances of one of them betraying the other. Throwing caution aside, they gave in to their libidos and kissed. They quickly stripped and had hot, wild couch sex.

At Crimson Pointe, Anthony chastised Johnny for ramming his boat into Karpov's freighter. Johnny emotionally pointed out that he has accepted his fate and is ready to do his father's bidding. Anthony was compassionate about John's loss of innocence and promised he'd guide his son with a firm yet gentle hand. Johnny then found Anthony's hidden rifle, a Russian rifle, the one used to shoot Kate. Johnny figured out that his father shot Kate. He then lifted Anthony out of his wheelchair and flung him on the floor. Johnny said he knows Anthony can walk but Anthony shouted back that if could walk, he'd kick his son's ass. John left, stating that if Anthony called for help, they'd find the Russian rifle. Johnny then stormed out. Anthony stood up and chuckled, “That's my boy.”

Sonny showed up at Kate's room but didn't hear any of Olivia's one-sided conversation.... Nikolas rushed to Nadine's side after she fell down the steps at the docks.... Johnny got a shock when he walked in on a naked Ric and Claudia.... Cody informed Jason that Sonny's taking action to take back the business.... Olivia was relieved when Kate woke up. She wanted to see Sonny but Olivia told her cousin that Sonny lied and he's not out of the mob. "He's the reason you were shot," she noted.... Anthony met with Sonny in the hospital chapel and told Corinthos that he was the answer to Sonny's prayers.

Tuesday

Johnny caught a naked Ric and Claudia and asked his sis, "So, this is how you got Ric to defend me?" Ric told Johnny that what happens between him and Claudia is none of his business. Claudia informed her brother that she slept with Ric because she wanted to. Johnny was disgusted and punched out Ric. Claudia hit John over the head to knock him out. She asked Ric to go and said she'd handle her brother. Ric complied and Johnny woke up. "Did you hit me?" he asked. Claudia assured Johnny that she could handle herself with Ric but Johnny demanded she stop seeing him. She reminded her sib that their personal lives were off limits. Johnny stated that if Ric ever hurts her, he'll kill him.

In the chapel, Sonny was curious about Anthony's offer to join forces. Sonny didn't believe that Anthony would offer up control of the family. Anthony said he was offering his resources so Sonny could get revenge on Karpov, even if Jason stood in his way.

At G.H., Olivia told Kate that Sonny plans to go to war over her shooting. Olivia filled her cousin in on Sonny's vendetta against Karpov. Kate brought up the subject of Dante but Olivia refused to entertain the idea of introducing Sonny to his son. Olivia huffed that Sonny is the reason she was almost paralyzed. When Kate stuck up for Sonny, Olivia said she should blame him — and Sonny, appearing in the doorway, agreed. Alone, Sonny tried to comfort Kate. She asked him to stay with her until she fell asleep. After Sonny left, Olivia told a sleeping Kate that if she wants to endanger her life with Sonny in it, that's her decision but there was no way she was pulling Dante into the circle of violence. Diane came to visit Kate, who woke up. Kate asked Diane to tell her if Sonny had been doing business with Karpov. Diane cautiously replied that while Sonny may have changed who he does business with, the business itself may not have changed. Kate was crushed.

After her fall, Nikolas brought Nadine into G.H. Elizabeth chastised Nikolas for not letting Nadine know how much he cares about her. In the E.R., Leyla counseled Nadine, as well. A recovering Matt gave Nadine a clean bill of health. Nik offered Matt more money but Dr. Hunter refused his charity. Nik pointed out that Nadine insisted he save Matt first. Matt asked Nadine to
stop investigating him and walked out. Nik tried to talk to Nadine but the words weren't coming out properly. Nadine said not to worry; they're still friends. Then, she scooted out.

Ric informed Anthony of Johnny's attack. Anthony gave Ric a raise, calling it "hazard pay." Ric warned Anthony that Johnny was a loose cannon but Anthony wasn't concerned. He shared that his plan to entrap Sonny was working out perfectly.

At the coffeehouse, Cody filled in Jason that Sonny is making moves to get back his business. Jason was surprised Sonny was acting so fast. He also fretted that Sonny's rash actions could start a mob war. Jason instructed Cody to keep tabs on what's going on. Spinelli arrived and asked Jason if maybe he should consider Sonny's request. Jason informed Spinelli that Sonny is out for blood and not thinking clearly. Later, Jason brought Cody to a
warehouse where Sonny was plotting against Jason. Needless to say, Morgan was not pleased. Sonny warned Jason that he'll regret not turning over the business to him.

Max burst into Jason's office and slugged down the booze. When Milo asked him what was wrong, Max replied their father was coming for a visit. "That's great," replied Milo. Max lamented that he informed their Sicilian father that HE was the one running the Port Charles mob. Milo gulped.

Wednesday

At PCPD, Mac was having a hectic day and relieved when Anna stopped in for a visit. She informed him that Robin proposed and Patrick turned her down. They two shook their heads at the kids inability to make up their minds.

At GH both Robin and Patrick snapped at Epiphany, prompting her to ask what was wrong and was there any hope of resolution for their conflict before the day was out. Epiphany asked the doctors nicely to work out their own problems on their own time. She then took a break. Later, Mac showed up to talk with Robin. Mac assured his confused niece that everything would work out between her and Patrick. Just then, Patrick walked by and Mac arrested him for, "Failure to yield — to my niece."

At Metro Court, Jax literally bumped into Carly. As they chatted politely, Alexis showed up and mentioned that he was supposed to meet her in the restaurant to discuss his divorce. At that point, Carly told Jax that she doesn't want the hotel in Montreal. She wanted the Metro Court. As they left to discuss the matter, Jerry showed up and Alexis filled him in on the battle. Jerry was optimistic that Jax and Carly would get back together. He offered Alexis a quickie but she turned him down to get back to work.

Nikolas and Nadine continued being awkward with each other. Nadine continually kept putting her foot in her mouth and neither brought up the subject of how they were feeling after having sex.

At the coffeehouse, Max confided in Jason that his father was the Sicilian mobster Maximus Giambetti. Max then mentioned his little fib to his pop about him running the Port Charles mob. Jason pointed out that he's a little preoccupied with Sonny at the moment but Max begged Jason for help. Elizabeth called in the middle of Max's begging, asking to see him. Diane showed up with contracts and Jason asked her to find out what Max was trying to say while he slipped off to see Liz. Max grabbed his gut in pain, leaving Diane confused and concerned. Max filled Diane in about his family background, just as Maximus showed up in the doorway. Maximus hugged Max, shook Milo's hand and called him Mario and patted Diane on the tush.

Lucky and Sam enjoyed playing house with the boys and got in some kissing time on the couch during their nap time. Sam then pointed out that Lucky slipped and called her his girlfriend, prompting him to smile. Lucky asked what she'd call what they had. She called him her best friend.

Jason met with Liz and she returned the plane ticket to Italy that she never got to use. Jason was frustrated and pointed out that his lifestyle is a deterrent to them getting together. Liz asked if he thought about giving the business back to Sonny. Jason said if he gave everything up without a fight, he'd be a coward and left. Liz returned home to see Lucky kissing Sam and sighed. Meanwhile, Jason returned to the coffeehouse and was caught off-guard seeing Maximus.

At the clinic, Matt told Nadine that the fire was arson and probably connected to the counterfeit drug ring. Matt remembered seeing a pair of black shoes with a dragon insignia before passing out. Hmmm, thought Nadine. Disguised as a maid, she snuck into Jerry's room at Metro Court and started snooping. Of course, Jerry came in, noticed things moved around and found Nadine in the closet. "I can't wait to hear your explanation for this," he stated. He grabbed her menacingly.

Jax saw Nikolas in the hotel lobby and gave him a hard time. Nik said he was there at Carly's request. Jax warned Nikolas to back off from Carly. Just then, Carly showed up and announced her business proposal to Nikolas: She suggested selling half her hotel shares to Nik, leaving Jax furious.

Thursday

At the Metro Court, Carly insisted to Jax that she owns half of the hotel and can negotiate whatever deal she wants with Nikolas. When Carly detailed how Nikolas wants to dedicate a playground on the grounds in Michael's name, Jax was appalled. He accused Nikolas of using Carly and suggested she knew as much. Suspicious of the prince's motives, Jax reminded Carly that Nikolas was also angry at her for keeping him from Spencer. Jax promised to stop whatever deal they eek out and stored away. Carly asked Nik if he was vying for a share of the hotel for revenge. Nikolas maintained his desire to invest in the hotel is bolstered by Jax's resistance. Carly informed Jax that she is going to deal with Nikolas.

In Jason's office, Diane introduced Jason to Maximus as Max's bodyguard. Maximus chastised Jason about his appearance, slapped the back of his head, and ordered him to say sorry to Max for being disrespectful. He also had some choice words for Diane, "This lady lawyer has some pretty impressive assets," he noted. Maximus continued to lecture his son about rules, respect, order and discipline. Jason realized something was afoot and reluctantly apologized. After he grabbed a change of clothes, Jason returned. Maximus hit on Diane and scoffed when she described her boyfriend. Bernie called and Max fielded the call, taking cues from Jason's body language. Diane suggested that she and Maximus take a stroll. He agreed and they took off with Milo, leaving Jason and Max alone. "Get Bernie back on the phone," a furious Jason barked. After his phone call, Jason told Max he's taking the reins back in three days. Diane and Maximus returned. Jason fetched the Sicilian mobster a drink and Carly barged in looking for counsel.

Sonny visited Kate at G.H., he again explained his involvement with Karpov and blamed himself for her shooting. He told her about the Russian bullet and claimed he said he should've known about the gunfire. Sonny declared that he is going to get revenge to make sure no one hurts her again. That of course, requires going back to the mob. Kate begged Sonny not to allow himself to get dragged back in. "I have to defend what's mine," he growled and left.

Maxie took the helm at Crimson to get the December issue out. When Clarice called to check on something, Maxie fibbed, and passed idea off as one of Kate's decisions. Olivia arrived in time to hear the conversation and called Maxie on the carpet. After all, she was with Kate all day and knew she did not make any editorial decisions. Olivia had a chuckle when she learned Spinelli calls her cousin "The Glacial One." The Brooklyn beauty marveled at Kate's office. Olivia remarked that Maxie reminds her a lot of Connie. Maxie continued to call the shots and let Spinelli know they were going to be stuck working all night. The Jackal tried to his best to assist Maxie by muddling through red bags. They heard a commotion and cowered behind Kate's desk as two gunman made a ruckus in the foyer.

Jerry injected Nadine with a drug inside his hotel room and she passed out. Later, Nikolas went on the clinic and spotted her laying on the floor. Nadine was disoriented and Jerry lurked in the shadows.

At the PCPD, Mac left Patrick handcuffed in an interrogation room. Robin arrived and demanded her uncle let her paramour go. But Mac refused to cut Patrick loose until he had his say. The top cop laid out the facts, Robin and Patrick love each other, they're having a baby together and said that marriage, like anything worth while, is a risk and left. Robin told Patrick how wonderful he is and admitted she has tried to control her entire pregnancy and claimed she wondered if he knew she still loves him. Patrick told Robin their child is the second greatest thing to happen to him, as she's the first. He said if she didn't want to marry him he understood why, but he wants it all. He dropped down on one knee and said, "Robin, will you marry me?" "With all my heart, yes," she replied. Mac opened the door as they smooched and they shared their joyous news. To which he replied, "It's about time."

Sonny stumbled upon Olivia under the hood of a car. "Enjoying the view?" she asked.

Friday

Carly demanded to know why Jason was acting like Max's flunky. Her jaw
dropped as Max, Milo, Diane and Jason perpetuated the ruse and Max
introduced Carly to Maximus as his girlfriend. Maximus praised his son's
taste, saying, "You got one hot tamale." Carly joined in the game of
make-believe, shoving Diane out of her way so that she could act all sexy
with her "boyfriend." Diane downed a stiff drink and sniffed that the
relationship isn't that serous. Maximus tried to put the moves on Carly but
she declined his dinner invitation. After Carly left, Maximus told Max to
dump Carly so that he can date her himself.

Lucky and Sam had sex on the couch and talked about their future. He told
her that he's in love with her. "Are you serious?" she asked, telling him
how happy he makes her. "I love you, too," she assured him.

Claudia rented a room from Coleman, who served her a drink and failed to get
any info out of her as to what she needed the room for. Ric entered and they
headed upstairs to

Robin visited Kate's hospital room and they shared a heart-to-heart. Kate
observed that sometime Robin is the only one who can get through to sonny.
Robin recounted how Sonny cared for her late love, Stone, adding, "Sonny's
like family to me." Robin said that maybe Kate can convince Sonny to steer
clear of the mob, but Kate wasn't so sure. Kate asked Robin if she would
keep Sonny from her child (were Sonny to have sired Robin's baby). Later,
Patrick broached Robin about whether it was safe for her to be friends with
Sonny, then quickly backed down. They talked about the wedding and agreed
that they both wanted to tie the knot before the baby came. Robin explained
that because she's Catholic, they needed premarital counseling. Patrick went
to Jake's to drink and bend Coleman's ear about whether he should tell Sonny
about the kid Sonny doesn't know he has.

Sonny watched as Olivia worked under the hood of her car. She dismissed his
(sort of patronizing) praise of her mechanic skills as "rampant sexism."
Talk turned to Kate and Olivia said he would have to choose between Kate and
the mob. Alexis arrived and, against Sonny's wishes, Olivia told her that
Karpov was behind Kate's shooting. After Alexis left, Sonny yelled at Olivia
for her loose lips. Olivia made it clear that she was interested only in
Kate's safety, not in Sonny's desire for revenge.... Olivia and Claudia made
each other's acquaintance at Jake's.

When armed Russian intruders burst into Crimson, Spinelli and Maxie quickly
hid. When the coast was clear, Maxie was horrified to see how they'd messed
up the office, knocking everything over. Spinelli spotted a note from the
thugs, promising that "Next time Kate Howard dies." They ran to Jason with
the news and Maximus was stunned by Spinelli's show. Maxie tried to cover
for Spinelli's oddness. Jason told Spinelli to show the man some respect.
Maxie enjoyed ordering Jason around to support the ruse that he's a peon.
Spinelli gave the threatening note to Max (resisting his desire to give it
to Jason). Maximus didn't think Karpov was behind the note.

Alexis met with a surly Karpov at her office. She told him in no uncertain
terms that she was going to convict him on drug-smuggling charges and dared
him to strengthen her case by running. Later, Karpov met up with Jerry and
ordered him to kill Alexis.... Sonny went to see Alexis and begged her not
to investigate Karpov. Alexis countered that Sonny needed to shut down his
revenge mission. "Do you really think you can stop me?" scoffed Sonny.
