General Hospital Recaps

GH Week of Sept. 13, 2010

Monday

Johnny struggled out of bed, but couldn't remain upright. Ethan advised him that the best way out of the hospital is to tell the truth. He cited Kristina, who's been through hell this year. "What about my sister?" Johnny growled. Ethan noted that Sonny's kids are still here. Johnny confessed he intended to waste Sonny, but hesitated when he saw the construction worker. When his gun disappeared, he saw a chance to send Sonny away for good. Meanwhile, Dante and Jason watched the construction foreman's video, which clearly showed Sonny shooting Johnny, but was inconclusive as to whether Johnny was armed. Dante bullied the worker into surrendering the video footage, and took it to Johnny. He said there was photographic evidence that Johnny pulled a gun on Sonny, however, if Johnny declares a truce, the evidence might disappear. Johnny confessed to having a gun, and given a choice between prison and a truce, "I'll take a truce."

Claire told Sonny she's too close to him to prosecute, so she will seek reassignment. Later, Kristina visited PCPD to ask her father why he came back. He said he didn't want anyone to think he shot an unarmed man. Kristina said when Sonny was gone she began to regret all those months of hating him. Next, Krissy went to the swings in the park. When Ethan stopped by, she recapped about her father, and admitted she didn't want Sonny to think she hates him. She wants to believe in him, but doesn't want to get her hopes up. Ethan told her to be open to the possibility that he won't disappoint her. And it's not her job to fix her father. Later, Jason told Sonny that Dante is bluffing Johnny, and if he agrees to truce, will Sonny? Sonny felt guilty about how his actions have threatened Kristina and Michael, and agrees to talk. Dante put Johnny and Sonny in the interrogation room to settle things. They came close to agreeing on terms — but Johnny must stay away from Sonny's family. Then Claire arrived, wondering what's happening.

In Rome, knife-wielding thugs tried to usher Brenda out of the hotel, but when they were blinded by a sea of paparazzi flashes, Brenda bolted. Later, she blamed Suzanne for not maintaining security, and fumed about not letting anyone tell her how to live her life. She also didn't want to cancel the costume charity event,so she agreed to more security. Suzanne agreed not to call Murphy; but he found out from his publicist anyway, and came to Rome, intent on bringing her back to London. "I don't think I can marry you," she told him. "I have these unresolved feelings."

In the park, Carly used Sonny's return to illustrate for Michael the idea, "Sometimes you have to do what's right over what's easy." He realized dropping out of school would be the easy way. Carly assured him he would come out of Madison stronger. Michael agreed to go back. Then he went to the penthouse, where Sam was hobbling on crutches, begging for company. He told her about his school issues. She advised him to stay in school. After she brushed his hand, Michael withdrew hastily. When Jason returned, she told him about Michael, then suggested sailing in Greece. But he got a call from Suzanne, who said he was listed as an emergency contact. Michael found Kristina moping in the park. Krissy noted that while she enjoys Ethan's company, she would freak out if he (or anyone) tried to touch her. Clearly Michael understood. At Metro Court, Jax told Maxie to make space in Crimson for a cover-feature on Brenda. Later, Carly stopped by to tell him that Sonny is back to clear his name. Jax was not as thrilled as Carly. Nevertheless, they both liked her dress, and they made love. Afterward, Maxie returned with a cover proof, which Carly asked to see. She glared at him when the cover showed Brenda.

Tuesday

Olivia was impressed that Dante brokered a truce between Sonny and Johnny. In the interrogation room, Johnny amended his statement to Claire: He admitted having a gun and intending to shoot Sonny. Claire said she's closing the case to save the taxpayers money. Johnny left. Olivia was relieved, and Johnny accused her of being glad that Sonny wouldn't go to jail. Sonny asked Claire to his home, so he can cook her dinner. Dante returned home with roses for Lulu to celebrate the new peace, and they started kissing. Later, she praised him for not breaking the law in this case. Claire arrived at Sonny's place looking hot. He admitted he thought about her a lot in lockup, and whether she was playing him. She admitted she originally was, but she started to like him for real. "Are you wearing a wire?" he asked. She offered to let him pat her down. Claire noted she's going to have to recuse herself from any future cases against him because she's no longer objective. She tried to leave, but he wanted her to stay and enjoy his...er, cannoli. He kissed her, but she broke it off and left.

Suzanne told Jason that Brenda has been the target of two attempted abductions, and her best security cannot protect Brenda. He told her he will come to Rome and deal with Brenda directly. Sam was disappointed. He invited her to Rome with him, but she begged off and left to run some errands. She observed that Brenda was smart to marry him because he's a great protector. In Rome, Brenda confessed to Murphy that she has unresolved feelings for someone else. She's projecting the other relationship onto her and Murphy, and it's not fair. He insisted that she marry him anyway. She said he needs someone who will love him completely — and he should go find her. He accused her of sabotaging her own happiness. They kissed, and he left. Back in PC, Jason asked Spinelli to book him on the next flight to Rome. Spinelli was psyched to meet Brenda, but Jason insisted he's going alone. As Spinelli argued that Jason was making a grand romantic gesture, Sam returned after listening at the door. Spinelli fled, allowing Jason to explain that he's going to Rome only because he has to. They kissed, and he left.

Brenda told Suzanne she broke it off with Murphy, and wants to take another trip for Cartullo.

Jax told Carly that it was his idea to put Brenda on the cover of Crimson. Carly didn't buy his "it's just business" excuse. She told him to go to Rome, since putting Brenda on the cover is the same thing as chasing her.

At Jake's Kate gave Coleman custom-tailored shirts from London, and bubbled about Brenda being on the cover. Patrick came in, followed by Lisa. Kate got an urgent text about the magazine and left. Patrick approached Lisa and tried to talk to her. Robin arrived and confronted Patrick. Lisa accused Robin of not wanting to let anyone have Patrick. As Lisa watched, Robin got in Patrick's face about hanging with Lisa. "You can have him," Robin said, and stormed to another booth. Steve arrived, and Robin sought his help making Lisa look like the unstable wench she is. Robin needs to appear interested in someone else. Steve warned of an "emotional quagmire," but agreed to help, so they left together. Lisa told Patrick that Robin is trying to make him jealous. A furious Kate told Jax to make the Brenda cover happen, even if Carly's panties are in a twist. She encouraged him to reconnect with Brenda. Jax said Kate would like to see him divorce Carly, so a Brenda cover kills two birds with one stone. Carly strode into Jake's and ordered a beer, complaining about Brenda. Carly recapped the history of Brenda and Sonny and Jax and Jason yet again, ending with a warning: "I will not be sharing."

Wednesday

Patrick and Robin talked in the interrogation room, under the watchful eye of Uncle Mac. Maxie scolded Mac for not trusting Patrick. She pointed out that cheaters can love, too. Robin vowed to give Lisa the impression she hates Patrick as part of their plan to get Lisa to incriminate herself. Patrick wanted to talk about their relationship, but Robin was feeling too betrayed and hurt. Mac broke up the confab, and Robin told Mac she didn't know she could hurt this much. Later, Patrick, Lisa, Robin and Steve assembled to review Robin's suspension. Lisa said Robin needs psychiatric care for doing crazy stuff and blaming it on Lisa. Robin exploded, calling Lisa a "child-stealing, home-wrecking bitch" who can have Patrick — as long as Lisa stays away from Emma. Robin got more and more angry, and spouted more and more hurtful things. Steve agreed that Robin needs counseling. Robin reminded Steve that he slept with Lisa, too. She refused counseling, so Steve extended her suspension. Lisa told Patrick that he and Robin could never work, so he should focus on himself and being a good dad.

Mr. Buckler, principal of Madison Prep, explained to Michael that many parents are uncomfortable with him attending, but Jax and Sonny made generous endowments, so he's in. But any trouble, and he's expelled. Later, Bryce Hawthorne accused Krissy of skipping Kiefer's funeral to dally with Taylor. When Michael defended his sister, Bryce taunted him mercilessly, and grabbed Michael by the throat.

Carly and Josslyn met Jax at Kelly's, where Carly said she's insulted that he put Brenda on the cover. Josslyn's parents pretended to talk to her while they argued about Brenda. Jax left, and before Carly could follow she ran into Nikolas and Brook Lynn. She called Brook a traitor. Nick promised he won't give her a chance to betray him. He said he hired her for a job, and when it's over, they're over. "You only get what you pay for," she responded. Later, in answer to a summons from Jax, Carly overheard Jax telling Maxie that Brenda is banned from Crimson. Carly accused him of staging the scene for her benefit. "I don't' care that Brenda is in your magazine," she cried. "I care that she's in your heart." Jax pledged his love to "the mother of our daughter," and vowed he won't give up on her.

At the loft, Lulu answered Dante's phone. It was Lucky, who told her he's in London, searching for Luke's trail. She gave the phone to Dante; it turned out Lucky was actually in Galway, Ireland, pretending to be gun-for-hire Ronan O'Reilly on an Interpol mission. Since the real Ronan died in an accident at a "soccer" game, he needs intel on Galway United. Dante advised him to listen more than he speaks, and take down the first guy who messes with him. Later, at PCPD, Dante accused Ronnie of framing Sonny. Then Dante got a call from Principal Buckler. Arriving at Madison, Buckler said Michael attacked Bryce and beat him badly. Krissy insisted that Bryce started it, but Buckler pointed out that she's hardly impartial. Bryce complained that Michael "completely lost it." Buckler decided to expel Michael. But then Taylor arrived and explained what really happened: Bryce taunted Michael. Then the other kids backed Taylor's version. Later, Kristina went to Kelly's, where she ran into Ethan. She expressed her concern for Michael, and mentioned her own scars. Ethan said he has "total faith" that she will recover. When Maya arrived, Ethan noted it's been a month since their first kiss, and kissed her in front of Krissy. Michael told Dante that he learned in Pentonville not to let anyone back him into a corner. Dante suggested they talk about what happened in prison.

In Ireland, redheaded Siobhan burst into the pub, called Ronan a "bastard," and slapped him. She said he killed Donnie. Then Liam, Donnie's brother, drew a knife and attacked "Ronan." Lucky fought him off without killing him. Siobhan demanded, "Who the hell are you, what have you done with Ronan O'Reilly?"

Thursday

Dante asked Michael to talk about what happened to him in prison. Michael asked his brother to leave it alone. Dante apologized for his part in Michael going to Pentonville and said he just wanted to help. Michael replied if that was true, he'd never bring up the subject again.

Jason arrived in Rome and met Suzanne. "You're Brenda's ex-husband?" she asked. Before giving up any details, Suzanne quizzed Jason about his history with Brenda. Afterward, Suzanne filled in Jason about Brenda's attacks. Jason stressed that he wasn't there because he cared about Brenda but he would protect her, since she means a lot to people close to him.

Brenda went to her photo shoot and told the photographer she couldn't wear a wedding dress. The photographer cajoled her to proceed and while she posed in another dress, Brenda flashed back to all of her weddings with Jason, Jax and Sonny. Brenda returned to the hotel and bitched to Suzanne about having to do a wedding shoot and the lack of security that's almost gotten her killed. Jason listened from the doorway and sighed. Jason knocked and Brenda opened the door to Jason. She tried to slam it shut but Jason was too quick. "Do you really want to die?" he asked Brenda. She accused Sonny of sending him, but Jason denied the claim.

At Casa de Corinthos, Claire arrived and barked at Sonny, "How dare you send me this?" Claire chastised Sonny for sending a gift of earrings to her office via Max. "This was completely inappropriate," she huffed. Sonny dismissed Max, then asked Claire to model the earrings. Sonny couldn't understand why Claire wouldn't move forward since she took herself off his case. Sonny asked Claire to have dinner; she said she would if he took back the earrings. After Claire left, Sonny recalled an argument with Brenda
involving jewelry.

In Ireland, Siobhan questioned Lucky (a.k.a. Ronan) about why he let his attacker, Liam, live when he had no problems killing her beloved Donny. Ronan claimed that he did it for her protection, as her dearly departed beau was a dangerous thug whose presence jeopardized her very life. Siobhan realized Ronan was correct in his comments. He then brought the lass back to his room, where Siobhan pulled a gun on him, vowing an eye for an eye regarding Donny. "You killed him like he was nuttin' " she huffed. Ronan grabbed the gun, then offered it back to her to see if she really meant to kill him. Siobhan grabbed the gun, then accused Ronan of being someone else.

Jax and Carly discussed the state of their marriage and the possibility of a reconciliation. They kissed and Dante interrupted with news of Michael's fight at school. Carly was miffed that the school called Dante and not her. Carly went to talk to Jason and learned from Sam that he was in Rome. Carly stated that she refused to share Jason with Brenda. Sam questioned Carly about Brenda's past with Jason. Just then, Michael showed up looking for Jason. Carly asked for a moment alone with her son.

Dante arrived at Sonny's and caught his father in a contemplative moment.... Jax warned Claire that she was walking into a trap where Sonny was concerned.... Sonny admitted to Dante that Claire was just a diversion, as he's interested in another woman.

Friday

Brenda accused Jason of being sent by Sonny. He informed her the charges against Sonny were dropped. She asked if Sonny is involved with anyone. Jason said he didn't think it's serious. Brenda was, however, seriously furious that Suzanne had called Jason. In Port Charles, Carly railed at Michael over Jason going to Rome for Brenda instead of sticking around to counsel him about school. When Brenda refused to explain why the Balkan was targeting her, Jason called Spinelli. Brenda snatched the phone from Jason, while simultaneously in PC, Carly grabbed Spinelli's phone — putting the women on the line together. They sniped at each other until Jason retook the phone. Carly told him that Michael almost got suspended. Michael grabbed the phone and told Jason it was just a stupid fight, and handed off to Spinelli. Jason told him to look up the Balkan. Then Brenda suggested maybe she was targeted because of her work with ASEC. When Carly returned home, she found Jax waiting, with reconciliation on his mind. She pointed out that it always falls apart. "We both made mistakes," he noted, but he wants a life with her. She wondered it love was enough. He told her to go for it! And they kissed.

Claire told Jax that she deliberately compromised her professional standing so that she can determine if Sonny is interested in her as a person, or as a prosecutor. Jax accused her of throwing away her career for a chance to become Sonny's collateral damage. "What — or whom — did Sonny take from you?" Claire asked. Meanwhile, Dante told Sonny that he can't use one woman to get over another — as Dante knows from experience. Sonny noted they are more alike than they thought. Sonny talked about a great love that he knew was doomed to fail. He still thinks about her, but has realized it's time to move on. With Claire. On his way out, Dante ran into Claire, and noted that she would no longer be lecturing him about ethics. Claire was impressed that Sonny had homemade pasta. She said she feels liberated after recusing herself from any case involving Sonny, and it was all her choice. "I'm a big girl," she asserted, and kissed him. They moved upstairs to his bedroom.

In Ireland, Siobhan claimed to see compassion in "Ronan's" eyes. Lucky dropped the accent and claimed to be an undercover cop. When she complimented his "fake" accent, he resumed the Irish one. "How'd you manage to pick up a soul?" she demanded, noting that he'd changed. "I found God," he replied. He made up a story about breaking into a church after a job, and realizing that God must have another plan for him. As he went on about changing and redeeming one's life, it was clear Lucky was talking about himself.

Back in PC, Robin told Maxie she's been suspended, and that she and Patrick are baiting Lisa. Maxie insisted Patrick still cares about Robin, and doubted Lisa would hurt Emma. But Robin was taking no chances with Emma. Later, Lisa invited Patrick to a NASCAR event in Delaware for the weekend. He hesitated, so Lisa advised him to make a clean break and start living life again. They kissed, as Steve watched disapprovingly. Later, Steve promised to get Patrick scheduled for a surgery that would keep him in town. Then Steve reported back to Robin. Maxie went to the hub, where Patrick assured her that once Lisa is outed, Robin can have her job back. A little later, Maxie ran into Lisa, and they argued. Patrick broke it up, and warned Maxie not to bait Lisa. Lisa eavesdropped as Patrick said he's planning to get out of the NASCAR date. She also heard Maxie say everything is a ploy to expose Lisa. Lisa asked a nurse to fill a prescription for a powerful, "experimental"sedative.

Brenda asked Jason to protect her at a work gala tonight. Back in PC, Dante arrived at the penthouse looking for Jason, spotted Spinelli's work, and demanded to know what he knows about the Balkan. In Ireland, Lucky was expecting to meet with the Balkan when there was a knock at the door.
