I could be wrong, but I think you may be thinking of Angel, Holden's wife who was abused by her dad.

From what I remember, and I was very much a NEW ATWT viewer back then, Meg and her husband Josh wanted to have a baby. After a time of trying, they checked into why Meg wasn't getting pregnant and I believe it was determined that because of excessive scarring from an earlier miscarriage, that Meg would find it very difficult if not impossible to conceive. Meg never had a hysterectomy. She wanted children and tried to have them.

It was a significant plot point at one time, that Meg could not conceive...Angel was the same, but hers probably (if I remember correctly) had to do with abuse from her father when she was younger. Alice Haining did an amazing job as Angel Lange Snyder.

It was a significant plot point. I don't believe she ever had a hysterectomy although I think it was suggested when she had the miscarriage. I just wish the show had addressed it more. Based on her history it is highly unlikely that she could have gotten pregnant twice so easily. Since it initially was addressed so may years ago it would have been easy to say that since then she had some newer medical treatment to correct the problem to at least make it more probable that she could get pregnant. Stuff like that is important to those of us who have watched for a long time.
