So Roxy goes off to see this man who is in a coma, obviously Rex's father. So now the question becomes: Who is this guy?
Hopefully it is not a new character, but someone that has a previous tie to the show. The character played by Roscoe Born (who'sname escapes me at the moment)? That would be pretty sweet writing.
Too bad they killed off Victor Lord when the resurrected him a few years ago. Rex could have been yet another of Viki's long lost siblings, along with Todd and Tina. Also it would have made him an uncle to Viki's girl and not a 'brother' to Natalie. But alas, poor Victor is permanently, long dead.
But if he is the son of Roscoe's character, would that not make him a half brother now to Viki's other daughter? Sweet!
Anyway, I have been catching the show hit or miss for the last couple of weeks and if anyone can tell me if they have given further clues to the guy's identity or your speculations, have at it, please.
Ah, yes, Mitch Laurence! And yes Victor Lord has died only twice. Once in the 70s and then when it was revealed that he had faked his own death and was, evidently, backing the cult led by Mitch. Anyway, to your question about Marco Dane. The character last appeared on General Hospital years ago in a storyline that featured him interacting with Luke, Sonny and Tracy. Since then the actor that played Marco has passed away.So my money is on Mitch Laurence as Rex's daddy. We know Rex's mom was involved with his cult at some point. It would make perfect sense.

Oh, no I had no idea either. I loved him.
I am saying this in all seriousness: Didn't the actor who played Marco Dane have a twin brother, and that is who actually died?? It was a case of the media jumping the gun??
Marco did have a twin. Don't remember which one died though
erald Anthony (July 31, 1951-May 28, 2004) was an American actor.Born Gerald Anthony Bucchiarelli, the son of Italian immigrants had roles and appearances on many shows such as Another World and L.A. Law. He is most remembered for his role as Marco Dane on the ABC soap opera, One Life to Live, a role he played from 1977 through 1986, and from 1989 until 1990, and on fellow ABC serial General Hospital in 1992. Marco arrived in Llanview as a low-life pimp and pornographer who was only supposed to last for 8 days, but Anthony's offbeat look as well as his impassioned performances and electric chemistry with co-star Judith Light (Karen Wolek) made him such a fan favorite that only a few months after producers killed off Marco in 1978 they revealed the real victim was Marco's heretofore unknown brother, Mario Corelli. Anthony was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for the role in 1982,[1] and won in 1993.[2][3]During his absences from daytime Anthony had many guest-starring roles on television and a recurring role as kind-hearted Father Pete Terranova on Wiseguy from 1988-1989. Anthony also directed an independent film, Twisted, and episodes of All My Children. He continued to appear sporadically in primetime; in early 2003 he played a bit part on As the World Turns; when asked why he had not returned to daytime sooner, he said "no one asked me."Anthony was married to his One Life to Live co-star Brynn Thayer from 1981 to 1983.Anthony died on May 28, 2004. Soap Opera Digest reported his death as a suicide, but his family insisted his death was from a heart attack.[citation needed]
I don't think it's Mitch. Didn't he do the whole Nat/Jess switch because he didn't want a child of his being raised by Roxie? There has to be another one we aren't thinking of.

I remember reading this when it happened and I guess I forgot. He was a great actor and so sorry that he passed.
I think it is Mitch too, I loved him even though he was completely evil
What show is he (Rosco) on now? I don't suppose d it's GL?
Quote:What show is he (Rosco) on now? I don't suppose d it's GL? I think it's Y&R.....(Terrible Tom/Gloria's ex).
Yea he is. He died on the show but is making brief appearances as his ghost.
That's what I thought. It's been a very long time since I've seen Y&R. They moved the times around too much so now I only get to read about it in SoD. LOL!
So I think for maximum storyline potential the father of Rex needs to be Mitch Laurence.Imagine all of this coming out and then Mitch begins to come out of his coma?Rex having to now deal with Jessica as his 'new' sister? Will Natalie feel left out again because there is now a bond between those two she doesn't share?I just think that Mitch as dad give a TON of storyline to be played.
I don't anything can mess with the bond Rex and Nat has. Rex isn't that gullible. jmo
Quote:I don't anything can mess with the bond Rex and Nat has. Rex isn't that gullible. jmo But Natalie sure is...She will make it all about her....'why did this happen to me?'
Yea, you are right about that
OK, this wouldn't mean much in the OLTL universe but if they were to pull back and show Ron Hale on that bed, with Ilene Kirsten standing next to him, I would jump up and down with glee. He isn't doing much on GH these days and a reunion of Roger & Delia would be so fun!!

I suggested that Roger actually be the doctor that saves Shane since Roger is a doctor.

Mitch was who Rosco played. I can't see anyone else playing him, but they've done that sort of thing before.... Has Victor only died 2 times? Also a long time ago my favorite bad guy turned good was Marco Dane. I can't remember what happened to him. It would be kinda cool if they brought someone old back like him.
