Yep, 1/23/09 is their LAST day, both actors were fired. Regarding the ratings, ITA, IMO DAYS is sunk. My last day is Drake's last day, I won't be watching this crap after he leaves.

To the powers that be at NBC and Days of Our Lives:Words cannot express my disappointment in the treatment of Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn. How could you fire the MOST POPULAR actors and characters on this show? I can only think that the creators and NBC have lost their minds...you all must actually want this show to get cancelled.I have been a loyal and dedicated fan of this show for as long as I can remember. I grew up with Days. I can remember (before I was old enough to start school - kindergarten - and watching the show with my mom). As I grew up and went out on my own, I continued to stay with the show. Even when it was on at 3 PM and up against General Hospital with the Luke and Laura craze and against Guiding Light with Mindy/Phillip/Beth/Rick story lines, I remained a loyal Days viewer. In the days of VCR's, I taped the shows. Now with TiVo, I still tape and watch the show everyday (until now)After 40+ years, my 10-year-old daughter and I must finally say goodbye to Days of Our Lives. I stuck it out with the first firing of Drake Hogestyn; I was convinced it was just a ratings trick. But now, I can no longer continue if Drake and Deidre are gone. How dare you fire the most popular characters on this show?To all the actors on Days, thank you for the many years of enjoyment (and tears), I wish you all well. Good Luck.

I hope it is true. I won't have to skip over their part when watching now! I used to watch their storylines but lately they have been boring.
