Melody Thomas Scott Out at Y&R

According to the actress's Twitter postings, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, Y&R) just learned that Friday, June 3 was her last air show. Her Twitter account posted the following around June 7.
"Let me reiterate: I have NEVER asked for a leave of absence from the show. MTS" "Had not been told by ANYONE that that was my last scene,day,show,episode,whatever u want to call it.Time passed.… I returned to work on January 7th (approx) Continued working regularly til 4/28, when I shot what turned out to be my last scene. Last Fri. [June 3] was my last air show. that was shot 5-6 weeks earlier.Of course, no one bothered to tell me that."

I cannot picture Y &R without Nikki. I have watched the show for over 30 years and cannot remember MST not being on it! I hope they will reconsider and bring her back. The way her last show went left a lot of possibilities for her and Victor.
I hope they wrap up the Lily/Cane storyline once and for all and I agree with other viewers that they could end Phyllis any time now and it would be ok.
Is there any kind of leadership over on Young & Restless? First they let Cane go, then they let Billy go, then Diana, and now Nikki. Has this show lost it's mind or have all of the people who write, direct and produce just stupid. I can not believe the whole Melody Scott Thomas thing. Really Nikki Newman!. Didn't they go though the same thing when Eric Braden was ask to leave the show. You may not like the Newman's but they make up a big part of Genoa City. If you take out Nikki you take out the soul of the family. Has for Diana (Maura West) love her or hate her at least she gave you something to talk about. The Young & the Restless is my favorite soap drama, but stupid sh*t like this make me want to stop watching all together, and we wonder why Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz have taken over daytime t.v.
Please bring Nikki back shes one of the best, and beside i have yet to see her and Victor make it as a couple. We love Victor and Nikki Newman.
Well if indeed this is true. I have watched my last days of The Y&R. Some characters you just do not mess with. Nikki being one of them. You need to ax Genie Frances and bring Melody Thomas Scott back pronto. I have watched this show since day one. But I can and will cease to ever watch again. We the viewers are the ones who have made this show #1 for so many years. We can also make it the bottom of the barrel if you so wish.
I do not know what is going on in the heads of the Bell family....... But they have lost their minds. I have already stopped watching the B&B. I cannot stand the roles of Stephanie and Taylor. They think their poo doesn't stink. When it smells to high heavens. I am sick of the way theey are always pounding away at Brooke. The latest with Brooke and Thomas lying that they had sex together was the show stopper for me. I am done with the lot of you people. I will free up my afternoons altogether now. Not living my life to make sure I am home in time to watch the shows no more.So adios to The Bell family and all you idiots at the helm. Hope that you are happy. Die hard Y&R and B&B fan gone forever.
I've watched the Y & R since it came on over 30 years ago, but if they cut MTS out, I'm outta here. She's one of the best actresses on Daytime, not to mention more beautiful than ever. Don't know what's with the writers there, but the storylines are awful for the most part. Can't stand Genie Francis & that whole Cane/Lilly/Colin story, get rid of it! Gone are the days of great storytelling like we used to get from Bill Bell!
I agree with some of the things you are saying until you mention the Cane/Lily s/l that is the most exciting s/l to come along in well let me see... like forever!! If the boring NEWMAN crap is what kept you watching well more power to you. THE ( NEWMAN HOUR)is what kept me not watching. I hate to see MTS leave like that. It ismainly the writers fault not the characters if they would balance the show out it would not be in the mess it is. Everybody is going to like some parts of it and some parts of it won't like. There should be something for everybody. Why do posters always have to state all or nothing is a mystery to me. I would have had sympathy for your position until you started slamming the characters I like.

I could not believe what I read!!!! If Melody goes, I go. I have watched Y &R since its beginning, I am so loyal to this show that I either DVR it or watch it on internet when I miss a show. I am not in favor of Maura on the show, I knew her on AW and don't care for her as Diane. I am totally not in favor of bringing on Genie Francis (which I read she has a 3 year contract) or Tristan Rogers and beginning a whole new family line. Stick with what has made Y & R the top show.......the Abbots, Chancellors, and Newmans. If bringing Genie on meant losing Melody then something is totally wrong!!!!!!! I will abandon Y & R if this is the case. Not nice, TPTB!!!!!!!!!
So Abby must have drunkenly run over the Bells. They are on life support and Katherine has been left in charge and has gone rogue! What is going on in those peoples heads? Meoldy out without so much as a "Thank you for your DECADES of service and help in making us the number one soap on the air." And Mara out too. (Diane plays sociopath better than Adam did.) I honestly can't believe this is true. Nikki is one of the best reasons to watch Y&R. Her last scene at AA was amazing. Come on. If this has anything to do with employing Miss Francis, what a showing of misplaced loyalty. One might think that in this climate, the soaps would want to go back to their roots...to what made them popular with the fans. Reduce the peripheral storys and stick with the bread and butter...Abbots, Chancelors and Newmans. You're going to lose views over this one.
This is obviously a joke without the punchline. How in the world can you get rid of one of the main, long-running characters on the show to make room for Genie Francis? Whose idea was it to bring her on this show anyway? I thought that she was so beloved on GH and had this big comeback with Luke (I never watched GH by the way). What in the world are the writers doing? It was enough that I learned that Maura West (my dear Carly Snyder) was leaving, now you are kicking off an "old school" character? Also, I was really beginning to like Sharon and Adam together and now both of the characters are just using up unnecessary airtime. Y&R has been a top-rated show because of the fans that watch and support it. You are supposed to keep us entertained. Please do not mess with the fans or your numbers will definitely slide from low to no viewership. You could be possibly be the last soap standing if we have our say so please give us our respect too.
This is aweful..why are they getting rid of a main character that has alot more story line to offer...I say put her back on Y&R shes one of the best actors on that show.

Unbelievable! Nikki is one of the core characters on the show. And even if for some insane reason they wanted to get rid of the character, Melody certainly deserved better treatment than this after all her years on the show. She could have been given proper notice and a warm send-off. But the fact that they are getting rid of Nikki is just shocking. I wonder if they intend to pair Victor up with the newly arrived Genevieve?
If this is true, I will tell Y&R just what I told GH when they tried to let go Rebecca Herbst..... 'I will stop watching your show' There are a few other people I love on the Y&R, I love Melody. She is a good actress, she has been on there from almost the beginning. You need to stick with your core Familys. Stop bring in new people & families....as much as I love Genie Francis, & like seeing her on Y&R, not at the expense of Melody. I am still not over John Abbott being gone, or Brad & Colleen!! You need to build up the Abbott Family and give them back their business...enough already of VICTOR getting everything he wants. ugh.
Keep Melody not only on the show, but put her back on Contract.
Even if Y&R is planning a big story for her (doubtful) the truth remains that she is off contract and free to pursue other work. She just might be otherwise engaged if Y&R were to come calling. I hope she is. Serve them right.
Melody out now....really?? Have the powers to be lost their freaking minds....they are wanting to be next on the chopping block, after Maura West who is just brilliant and now Melody. They must know that this will lead to the end of their show with all this craziness going on. I can't believe what they are doing. Bring Melody and Maura back and write good stories for the great actresses they are!

I've been watching Y&R since I was 10 years old and there are certain characters that you don't mess with, like Catherine, Jack, Victor, and.....Nikki!!! I am shocked and saddened - it's like a death in the family. And to not even give her the respect she deserves by letting her know is unjust. I'm so disappointed. Please rethink this Y&R - afterall, you just brought Cane back, and he is a newbie in comparison to Nikki Newman.

I was just thinking. Most of us are newbies and have not watched the show for like 30 years but my mom just told me that the Newmans have not always been the core family in GC it was once the Brooks. Well maybe Shakespeare was right-maybe the Newman's 15 minutes are up. I know I am sick of them.
Victor and Nikki was once newbies , too and they replaced someone. well, what goes around comes around.
She isn't confirmed off the show ... She just hasn't been in any scripts since Nikki went to rehab. My guess is that they're building up the story for an explosive return.

viewer's alone, leave our TV programs alone. The young and restless can have
the talk shows, reality shows, the talent shows - leave the soaps alone, and don't
play with the star's lives - the executives know that they have a great show in Y&R
so leave it alone - sign the contracts - get off your duff's and give the viewers what
they want to VIEW.

Why are they being so cruel, she has been there for over 30 years and they don't communicate with her? All the characters I care about are getting fired. I'm still not over Brad.
I knew something was going on they weren't using her this year.They are doing the same thing with Jill. I've been following Jill since grade school and I'm getting sick of not seeing her. I'm leaving with Jill, I've been waiting 35 years for her to be the lady of that darn Chancellor Estate, I know it sounds stupid but its really the only reason I'm still hooked on this soap. I'm about to give up, I think Katherine is going to out live her.
What am I missing, isn't her husband part of the show? This really does suck as she is one of the back bones of this show! I really don't like the direction the show is going anymore! Catherine, what the hell are you doing anyway????? This is a side of you that I don't like!

Melodys husband was fired and is now at the Bold and the Beautiful. Who knows that may be where she shows up next. The Bells have lost their minds for sure. They seem to be trying to dismantle the #1 soap of all times. To treat MTS the way that they have is a disgrace to her and her talent. We have watched her and Victor grow up together so to speak. Its a sad sad day. Raining tears in Genoa City.
Maybe this is how TPTB were able to afford Genie Frances?? I can't imagine that character staying in GC very long. That whole arc with Cane/Caleb/Ethan whatever...waste of ink. Why are the current storylines about NEW characters?? Cane's family, Sophia (really...they couldn't come up anything but a baby daddy story?), Tucker, Diane...these are peripheral characters driving main stories. HELLO? No one is home at Y&R.
So Nikki is supposed to be in rehab forever? Or after rehab she 'needed time for herself' yep, that really sounds like Nikki's character NOT! One thing I AM glad about is not having to listen to the writers letting Victor abuse her.
So now what...are we suppose to believe that Genie will play against Eric? really? Genie already stated she won't play a victim again, so that pairing won't work! well then why don't we just send Melody to GH as the new love of Luke's life!
HOW rude of them to treat her this way. And BTW Melody has NEVER looked more beautiful, healthy, and sexy! Y&R you LOST on this one. Her talent is amazing and you cannot replace that character.
Taking Melody (Nikki) off Young and The Restless is so wrong. Even though Victor is Arrogant and ruthless, they are two of the cast that make the show. First soap opera mistakes was taking The Guiding Light and As the World Turns off and now this. Whats next. I started watching the soaps as a child. I was raised on them. Personally I think Nikki (Melody) and Victor should get back together and stay together.
Melody has been a part of our lives for decades. Shame on you for disrespecting her and all your soon to be former viewers!

I don't see this addressed - Why did AMC have to uproot everyone, at HUGE expense, & move to LA only to be canceled?? Disney had to klnow they were going to dump the show so why destroy the lives of all the crew, staff, actors, etc only to thumb their noses at them while junking their jobs?? I'm glad I'm too old for Disneyland! I wouldn't waste a penny on them and won't buy any of their advertised products. What a waste.

Who is writing this show and no way are Victor and Nikki the two that makes the show. I am sick of both. Sick of seeing Jack act so stupid and running in the same circle. Sick of the stories, not one good one at the moment. Every story is a repeat of the last two years. Explain how Adam can daydream about Sharon and she has her new hair color when the last time that he saw her she was a blonde. Kill the stories and start from the beginning. Victor gets away with murder and Kate is acting mean and nasty. Hate when Lily, Chloe, or Cane are on the screen. I record and skip through the show. Best screens are Billy and Victoria with the kids.
Well welcome to the FF button. I do the same when Billy and Victoria are on. So what does that tell you? There should be something for everyone. I think that is why soaps are dying because we think our favorites are the only ones who should eat up air time. I hate Billy and Victoria
I can't believe that they did that to Melody! I've been watching Y & R ever since it started, and I just can't believe them doing that to her. All those years she's been there. She is a great actress and they should be ashamed of themselves treating her that way. Take care Melody, you will be missed. :o(

I hate to see her go, but since she is gone can Victor be next? Please? I absolutely HATE the character of Victor Newman. He is an arrogant bully, and it's a wonder his children have turned out so comparatively well.
I feel like stopping watching all my soaps. B&B has been blah lately. Days is just starting to get good with the Viv/Quinn/Chloe story, but that's going to end with their firing. Very frustrating and demoralizing week for this fan.
Sad.
I don't know what is going on with the soaps these days.
