So we’re sure Cynthia Preston (Faith, GH) is one classy lady in person, but even we’d be a little afraid to find her in our grocery store. I mean, you’d have to wonder how the meat case got so, uh, packed, you know? But we’re in New York, so that’s not too likely. Those of you in the L.A. area might want to keep an eye out for a loose banana peel on the ground: Apparently, according to our new issue’s Roundup (issue date November 25, on sale November 18), she not only does her own shopping, but uses coupons. Says the actress, “I’m very good about not being extravagant when I grocery shop. I certainly compare prices and bargain shop. I’m very, very practical.” Snip, snip….12:15 PM Day By DaysBetter late than never, yeah? So we had our weekly news meeting, and there’s lots of great stuff out there — from Internet rumors of premature deaths (untrue!) to Super Soap Weekend happenings to particular names getting dropped … like these CBS and NBC stars who’re dating! And just what Michael Easton (John, OLTL; ex-Caleb, PC) really had to say down in Florida this past weekend. And — how about that re-cast on GH? Well, we can’t say more than that right now, but we’ll let you know as soon as we can. Meanwhile….
Get your calendars set: December 1 is World AIDS Day, and both M*A*C cosmetics and a whole bunch of celebrities are pitching in on that day to help those affected by HIV and AIDS. One hundred celebrities in 20 locations around the U.S. and 10 places overseas are donating an hour of their time to support the M*A*C AIDS fund to raise money. Now, there are tons of celebs, among them Bebe Neuwirth and Rita Rudner, but the soap stars are plentiful, too! They’re going to sign autographs during that one hour, ad every cent of sales from M*A*C products (Viva Glam, Kids Helping Kids) goes to the charity. Sounds like a great deal to us.So, now you want to know: Who’s coming? Where are they coming to? How early do I need to get in line? All valid questions. We’ve set up a schedule (tentative for now; be sure to check with the official web site at www.macaidsfund.org after November 14, when the info will all be up there.
