First, I want to say up front that I love Tyler Christopher. I've always like the balance he gives the character between the stable Laura side & the insane Stavros side. I also enjoy his occasional bursts of Cassadine nasty. But, this story... not so much. Nik's temper tantrum & his nastiness toward Rebecca were overblown. The writers have taken the wrong approach with this story. Feeling anger toward her? Yes, of course. Feeling stupid? Sure. But, this unbridled rage is ridiculous.

Emily was not Rebecca's best friend. They didn't grow up together. When Rebecca formed this plan, Emily was just some information on a piece of paper. Some facts. She was not a person. It was only after getting to know Emily through the eyes of her loved ones, did she become real to Rebecca & she realized what she was deprived of went deeper than her wallet. But, none of this matters to anyone. All they care about is that she defiled sainted Emily's memory.

It's especially ridiculous coming from Nikolas, who spent the majority of the time he knew Emily making her life miserable. Yes, they were great together, had great chemistry, etc., but that doesn't change the reality. The reality is if he wasn't pushing her away for one reason or another, he was allowing his psychotic grandmother to torture her. He treated her terribly when his lookalike raped her & went on to have an affair with Courtney & father a child with her, while he was still married to Emily & while Emily was trying to recover from the rape.

So, this hysteria about how Rebecca has defiled Emily just rings hollow to me. To me, it's more about the reality of realizing his plan to turn Rebecca into Emily by recreating his life with her & planting Rebecca in it, hasn't worked. I believe that's what his temper tantrum's about. His need to villify Rebecca is based on realizing Rebecca is not Emily & he blames her for it.

I just hope that Rebecca doesn't turn into a mealy mouthed goody-goody to try to win him back. I hope she realizes Edward is right about Nik & moves on with someone else, preferably not someone who'll compare her unfavorably to Emily. I'd also like her to tell Lucky off about suddenly taking Ethan's word for gospel & not giving her a chance to answer Ethan's claims.

Actually, the entire story stinks & has from the moment the writers tied her to Ethan. It was a desperate ploy to try to generate interest in him & it failed. This "nutsy Nikolas" story is also a transparent way to facilitate Nik & Liz getting together. He'll get crazier & crazier & the only person who'll be able to save him will be Liz. And that will only be recycling Sonny's manic depression storyline substituting Nik & Liz for Sonny & Emily.

Though I usually ff past anything Rebecca and Nikolas, I must say that I actually put the ff finger on hold during the nutsy Nikolas going off on Rebecca scene. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think she deserved every bit of it. JMO

Me too. When he kissed her & said "your just a cheap sub for Em." I loved it. He had me worried for a second. And I know people are upset with Lucky for telling Nik, but I think he did the right thing. He even told Nic, that maybe she did care for him that She called things off with Ethan. Lucky first obligation was to his brother, not Becca. Nic would have been real pissed if he found out later & that Lucky knew...brothers need to stick together. I can't help I adore GV/ Lucky..if only the writers would see what a Gem they have in him.

He definitely deserves an emmy for that kiss and then the slam dunk. He was so cool and calm when he said that it must have stung her like a hornet sting! Go Nikolas!

I haven't seen it yet, but form the sounds of it I am gonna like it! I don't see hwy Rebecca would think Nik would just "overlook" this betrayal. If she was afraid of losing him, once she started falling for himshe should have told him. But again it goes to show th writers aren't willing to stray into something they are unfamilair with, ie honesty. I think it is a good thing that Nik is relaizing that he was had, maybe it will help him heal over Em's loss. Just my humble opinion.

Yep, I think him going "Cassadine Soft" on Rebecca is gonna be a highlight for me. Soft because any other Cassadine would have her killed. We don't want him to go too Cassadine crazy but I think it's about time Nic went alittle rogue. Now the breaking stuff and sitting on the wall was a bit much but him getting some revenge on Rebecca even if some of it is rooted in the fact that he did try to recreate Bec in Em's image, is on point. The writer's just have to be smart about it. It shouldn't be a sadistic, vindictive thing, but more like what Amelia did to Sam. I hated that, but it was very effective.

Well, I was glad to see today that I'm not the only one who feels the way I do. Even Nik's best friend, Liz, pointed out that Em would be the first one to tell him that she wasn't some pristine saint that Rebecca villified. She was human & she had lots of flaws. As for when I was referring to going Cassadine nutsy, I was talking about coming attractions where he goes on & on about her spitting on Emily's grave & wanting to get even. First of all, what Rebecca did was wrong. There's no question of that. But, he acts as though Rebecca & Emily were lifetime best friends & Rebecca somehow betrayed Emily. There was no betrayal. You can't betray someone you don't know & you don't automatically love someone just because you find out you are sisters. That Oprah stuff does happen in real life, but not all the time. Sometimes, you learn you have a sibling & it is the complete reverse. We still don't know anything about how Rebecca was raised. We don't know what kind of values the people who bought her instilled in her. But, she's extremely focussed on money which is an indicator that she was poor. When a person grows up poor, there is sometimes a resentment of the wealthy that is instilled in you by your parents or through watching your parents working 2 jobs to try to pay the bills & barely making enough. There is the possibility that's the case with Rebecca. Is it rational? No. But, I've also never had to find out that my birth mother sold me & then made arrangements for my twin sister to live with wealthy people when she died & hopefully neither has anyone reading this. I can't speak for what went through Rebecca's head & neither can PRINCE Nikolas, who has had people falling all over themselves to please him since he was born. He's never had to lift a finger for himself. Alfred would hold his tea cup for him if he asked him to. Nik's never had to look for a job or for that matter, actually work for a living. Sitting around, ordering people to do things is not work & now, he's going to use his power to fire her? On what grounds? More to the point, if she wants to fight back, she can sue him for sexual harassment in the workplace. There are enough honest people in that hospital who would testify to the many times Nik took her away from her work to play around & even threatened to fire Epiphany for scolding her for dithering around with him during her shift. Firing her now will only add to a lawsuit, assuming she wants to play as dirty as him.If he really wanted to make Rebecca suffer, instead of all the Cassadine melodrama, simply ignoring her would be the most effective way. He's going to go too far & even Lucky will turn against him.

Rebecca may have grown to care about the Q's and Nic, but she came to town to fraud them. And although she says she was gonna tell Nic everything, we (they) have no proof of that. Those are more words coming out of her mouth just like she didn't know Emily was her sister. Nic said he was hurt but more humiliated than anything and that's what's driving his anger. As would anyone if they just found out they've been duped. Whether you really love me now or not doesn't matter. And I'm not gonna feel better until you feel a little of what I feel, that's real life.

As for sexual harrassment, I don't think so. Especially when it comes out the real reason she breezed into town. Ignoring her might be effective, but what fun is that?

That girl came to town to scam everyone. She knew about Em, & was pissed that Em did good & she didn't boo hoo.... life sucks. She shacked up with Ethan who I almost feel a tiny bit sorry for, because he seemd to really like her..or as much as someone like him.

Ok, so I finally saw Mon ep last night. Wow. Nik did a great job of giving Rebecca what for. However, his little tantrum afterward, was a bit much, but I can kind of see how if someone plays your emotions like that how you could really be that angry. If Nik really wants revenge, then getting her fired from GH is child's play. Meet someone else (in this case it is obviously going to be Liz) and rub it in her face. Become friends with Ethan. As for Lucky telling Nik, I have seen some for and I have seen some of you against. I am in the for column. Whether or not Ethan had an ulterior motive is something Lucky and Nik should definately look into, but if I had info I would share with my sibling. However, Lucky should have told Nik with the caveat of "think about the source of this information". Perhaps it could have and would have been better to confront Rebecca in front of Ethan just to see who could be telling more of the truth. Definately would have given more drama, and of course would have give Ethan a chance to I don't know be a somebody??Just my thoughts.

My main point in this seems to have gotten lost along the way & it's my own fault. The thing I'm most concerned with in this story isn't really what happens to Rebecca. My concern is for the character of Nikolas. He's always been the perfect balance between Stavros' pure evil & Laura's pure goodness. He's got the Cassadine on simmer most of the time, but every once in a while, it boils over. I'm fine with that because it's one of the things that makes him interesting. I don't want to see them ruin that just so the end result is "Spencer/Cassadine Feud: The Next Generation." That would be boring & would ruin a perfectly good character & wreck the brothers' relationship just so Lucky could bond with Ethan.I assumed when they brought Natalia Livingston back & plopped her right back in the middle of all the actors she worked with the first time around, that it was to capitalize on her chemistry with all of them. I've seen none of that. In fact, in every case except with Monica & Edward, it's been flat. A large part of it is because everyone was suspicious of her from the beginning, but something is missing & for me, making her turn out to be the "bad twin" was a big mistake. I'm not saying she should be an Emily clone. She was interesting when she first came on as Rebecca because she wasn't like Emily & resisted everyone. She wasn't bad, but she wasn't a clone of Emily either. She was her own person. It was only after Nikolas began working to turn her into Emily that she became boring. By the way, who exactly was using who in this relationship? This turn Nik has taken is just the latest mistake they've made along the way. For me, making him flip out & crusade against Rebecca is wrecking the character. More to the point, if I know these writers, they have a story coming up to explain why Rebecca was so desperate to get all of that money that will have all these characters feeling ashamed of themselves. I have the feeling there's more to it than the writers have let us see so far.

I like the Nik storyline...the prince being played...I like to see the nice Nikolas go dark and become more Cassadine...it would offer me tremendous drama...it is going with history. It doesn't have to be forever...but a storyline and I find it interesting...I liked Nik in his rages after who would die for love...I have to say this storyline surprosed me I didn't think I'd like it. but I do....

I wasn't picking on you I hope you don't think that! I agree with some fo what you said, but I am not a Rebecca fan, I also wasn't an Emily fan. So perhaps I am prejudiced to start. However, I found Rebecca more intriguing when she had the ehavy makeup and darker side of her personality. Since is an Emily clone now, I am beyond bored. I also like when Nik gets his Cassadine on. It is a nice switch now and again. I certainly hope that they don't ruin his relationship with Lucky et all. That would be disastrous. However, with the current writers on payroll, I must say I do not have much hope for this show. And that makes me sad.

"Stavros' pure evil & Laura's pure goodness" Laura's my girl, but don't forget she killed when she was a teen & she also get get good & mad.. nobody can be a saint married to Luke. I loved her, she was always so nice & sweet, but when she got mad she had a good hissy fit.Anyway I just don't see anything wrong with Nic going off. Did I miss something. Is he having something evil done to her? Sometimes I walk away or change the channel..maybe I've missed him do something..besides have a Sonny tempure tantrum.

No, but the previews kind of leave me with the impression that he's going to make it his mission to ruin her life. THAT would be spitting on his beloved Emily's memory. It would also be trading one obsession for another. She didn't do anything to him. Her plan didn't come to fruition. He felt humiliated. Well, he should feel humiliated. He also gave her a dose of that too, when he offered her the million dollar check. To keep going after her is only turning her into a victim. If Monica & Edward get involved, he'll be taking on Emily's family, as well. And, since everything he does has to pass the "Would Emily approve?" test, he'd be going against what her wishes would be. Would she be angry that this woman came there looking to take from the people who loved Em? Yes, but she would also feel compassion for her & let her have her say. I'm not saying that she shouldn't pay for what she tried to do. I'm saying there's a limit & it's going overboard to decimate her life. And, if that's not what the writers have planned, ABC shouldn't engage in false advertising.

I think what Nik should do is pay attention to what's going on with the people he loves & get involved in that. Instead of going after Rebecca, finding sick reasons to stay connected to her, he should focus on his aunt & her children. Let Molly be his distraction for now. The best revenge is what Emily would want for him anyway. To get on with his life & find someone new.

I don't tjink he went over to his dark side for good, he had a lot of booze in him that night to help fuel the rage. And today a few verbal jabs .. that wasn't to bad. The previews do make it look like he's going to make her pay, I hope not ..but lately it seems that the previews are actually nothing like what the show turns out to be, so I'm hoping this is the case. I also think it was good that Molly showed up when she did, molly's and her families problems will be a great distraction for him. The girl did make a lot of sense and perhaps she got through to him.As for Liz I like them together. Bessides pissing Lucky off (which is very easy to do) what do they both have to lose, that is their reason to stay apart. Did I miss something? I did find it strange that Lucky is finding reasons to push Liz and Nicholas together, it just seems out of character.

Yeah. It's very forced & even Greg Vaughan looks uncomfortable having to once again play the poor duped sap. The whole notion of Liz & Nik is grounded in history. I don't know how many people remember that when Lucky came back altered by Helena, Nik & Liz pretended to be together to con Helena & while they were always together, there was this one point where that line was blurred like it is now. Outside of a possible tantrum on Lucky's part, I don't see what they have to lose as long as they prioritize protecting their friendship. Actually the two of them together makes alot of sense. Both are dealing with the fact that they can't be with their most recent true love. So, anyone else will just be a substitute, at least in the beginning. It might as well be someone they know they can be honest with & open about their pain with. Liz can't share that with Lucky because he's still so jealous of Jason. I don't see Nik ever being jealous of him. Unless Jason leaves the mob to win her back, which it looks like will never happen.

No Jason has made his choice and I don't think it's possible to get out any more. I think Liz and Nicholas would be great together. Like you said they have a great friendship to lay the foundation, they have both seen each other at their worst - no suprises, and I think they really listen to each other. All of that is a wonderful way to start. Besides can you imagine how his son Spencer would bloom if there were 2 other kids and Liz around to mother him? It would be great.

Yes, it would. That kid needs a mom. Alfred doesn't cut it. And, neither would Rebecca. She just seemed to creep the kid out. And, he made her nervous & uncomfortable. I'll bet she doesn't like children (Emily adored them, so it would be one more difference between the women.)

Does everyone have to sleep with everyone else on the show? Can't a few couples, just be friends. Alexis, Sam and Claudia slept with both Rick & Sonny. Now Elizabeth could end up with Lucky's brother, Nicolas. Maybe she'll get pregnant and have another kid for Lucky to help raise.

They had a good one for Lucky in Rebecca until they ruined that whole story by having her turn out to have really known about Emily & revealed her plan with Ethan. If they had left it at a bizarre coincidence that Em's twin popped up in town, she'd have been perfect for Lucky. They were doing great together. But they had to trash her character & of course, God forbid Lucky should be too happy for too long. They can't let a day go by without Lucky scowling or whining. It's like they don't like how perfect his face is & want him to be full of frown lines. Somebody over there's jealous of all the hunks. All they do is cry & frown.

Your right about Rebeca & Lucky. They need to find away to bring them back together. Now I'm going to be mad if he goes down hill when he finds out about Nic & Liz. Those 2 need to go public. If Liz doesn't want Lucky fine then stop giving him hope. This is the only area Nic is pissing me off, Lucky is his brothers & they need to be honest & stick together.Women ( & men) come & go but family needs to sticky together!

I still don't like the direction they're going with Nik & Rebecca. Does she need to be punished? Yes. Do I think they should destroy the character of Nikolas in order to accomplish that? NO! If Nik does what it looks like he's going to do, they will not only ruin the perfect balance of Nikolas' character, but worse. They will have made him indistinguishable from Sonny. To steal from our friend, paul, they will have "Guzanated" him. He will have become just another irritable jerk like Sonny. That, in turn, will put a pinprick in the balloon of Nik & Liz before it even gets off the ground & destroy his relationship with Lucky, reserecting the Spencer/Cassadine feud (which I suspected the writers wanted to do anyway). All of this leads to boxing Tyler into a go nowhere storyline, like Stefan & we all know how that ended. I sincerely hope I am wrong about this, but I don't think I am.

Soap operas have always been fantasy. We need to remember that. Yes we want it to also resemble real life also.
Now take Nic, he lost the love of his life. Then a women who acts all innocent comes to town who looks just like his lost love. She pretends to not know anything about Emily, she pretends to be innocent. Nic, being a real sweet old world kind of guy believes her. He fell in love with her. Then his brother does what any brother should do & tells Nic the truth. Now he is one pissed dude. She made him look & feel like a fool & betrayed him. Heck I'd want revenge too. I just want him to go so far as do kill her or do anything illegal. This stupid girl knew Ethan was out there ready to tell on her, she should have had the guts to tell Nic herself. No I don't want Nic to turn into his crazy family, but I'm happy if he gets alittle of it. He has always been a little soft.

Yeah. But, it doesn't look like that's what they're doing. If you watch Tyler's face, you can see it's alot more than that. I'm starting to think there might have been solid reasoning behind Helena's objections to the women he's loved & those that Stefan & Stavros loved as well. Maybe she's aware of a genetic mutation in her family (she has it herself). Maybe it's triggered by something like this--emotional shock. We don't know much about Stefan, Stavros & Alexis' childhoods except Stavros was cruel. But, perhaps something triggered that too. Stefan was apparently a pacifist until after Laura left the island to go back to Luke. With Nik, maybe it started with Em dying & what happened with Rebecca just let the beast out. Maybe this is why Helena always wanted him to be with someone she selected. Someone he wasn't emotionally invested in. I'm not saying she's a loving grandma looking out for him, but it's possible she believes she's doing what's in his best interest.

Nicolas appeared to be Cassadine to the core yesterday in his scenes with Rebecca. He looked like he couldn't bear to be anywhere near her after they had made love. Looks like he could be a chip off the old Cassadine block. Elizabeth needs to run before he shows this side to her.

It's not him turning to the Cassadine side every now & then. He's now totally Cassadine. Even Alexis, with all her problems, could see that. And, Diane, who doesn't know Nik that well, noticed the ice cold & detatched way he was speaking. Even his attitude toward Alexis, the aunt he adores. He didn't even act like he believed she was innocent. He seemed almost impatient when Diane told him how damaging that deal was to her murder case & told both his inferiors that he'd take care of it. Actually, I was wrong when I said he'd be indistinguishable from Sonny. Sonny's never cold with someone he loves unless they have hurt him.

Well, he'll get more exciting in another couple of weeks or months when he & Lucky are fighting. Lucky & Ethan will team up & it'll be Spencer/Cassadine Feud: The Next Generation. In the middle will be the woman he's trying to destroy (which, by the way will accomplish his goal of closing the door on his life with Emily because by destroying Rebecca, he's the one spitting on Emily's grave, the person she was & everything she believed in), the woman he's lusting after & 3 small children, as well as Lulu. Goading him will be his evil grandmother. In the meantime, who else is he going to trample to get what he wants? He's already treating his aunt like she's a moronic lackey. The only thing worse than the character assassination of Nikolas will be making Ethan into a hero. If you all are going to enjoy that story, I'm glad for you, but I will not.I personally do not believe they need to destroy the good & noble character he's always been to make him more interesting. I think it's laziness on the part of the writers. It's also the only way they know how to make characters more interesting. It's what they did to Jason Quartermaine (not evil, just cold to everyone who loved him), Lucky (when Hels brainwashed him), Jerry Jax, the list goes on. There are plenty of ways they could make Nik more interesting that do not involve destroying the complex character he already is. He could lose his money & have to learn how to survive in the real world. Actually, hold down a real job. Spend some time with his son (he's probably the worst father on that show). As it stands now, this story is of no interest to me because they've simply thrown Nikolas into the giant cesspool full of dark psychos that are already there. We have Helena, Jerry, Claudia, Anthony & Sonny. What the heck? Why not one more? JMO

I don't read spoiler's so maybe you know what's coming up but I just don't see that. I don't see how giving Nikolas a backbone and making him more ruthless when its called for, not turning him into a nutjob like Claudia, is ruining his character. I saw Friday's show and I didn't see him treating Alexis like a lackey. I saw him finally taking off the rose-colored glasses and seeing what was happening with his family and finally doing something about it. Was it ethical? No, but sometimes as a Cassadine you throw ethics out the window. Nik has been through a lot. He's handled it well but this Rebecca thing was the straw the broke the camel's back. So he's at that screw it point, I'm doing me. I think that's justified. But, I see why you're so leery about it because the writer's always take things too far. Here's hoping they don't take Nikolas to the Claudia line. I don't think he would jepardise (I can't spell today) his relationship with his siblings. That should be his stopping point.

As for Jason and Jerry. Really, who liked Jason Quartermaine? If they hadn't made him Jason Morgan he probably would have left the show and been re-cast a million times like A.J. was, and we all know what happened to A.J. Or he would be wherever Ned is. Such a waste, I loved Ned.
Jerry's always been a little left of the law, so its not so much of a stretch that he did what he did. I think where he did it was the issue. I do not believe Jerry had any intentions of killling kids. And I'm not so sure I'd put Jerry in the same category as Claudia and Anthony. Sonny yes, but wacko and his offspring, no.

Seems like Nikolas can't get it on with Rebecca unless he is fantasizing about Elizabeth. Nothing would make me happier than for him to call out her name while making love to Rebecca.

Me too, for a few reasons. First, maybe she'll wake up & realize he can't stand her. As a result, maybe we'll see a little of the spunky, take no crap girl she was when she came to town, instead of this "Sweet Polly Purebread" copy of Emily that she's become. She & Edward could team up to take Nik down a peg.Another reason I want to see that is more people in that town have to become aware of the change in his personality, especially his brother. Lucky is so deluded that I doubt his sobriety will survive the realization that Nik has snapped into Cassadine Kookoo. Not to mention the realization that St. Liz is a ho. He's got her up there on a Laura pedestal & she definitely doesn't deserve it.The final reason I want that to happen is that I think Greg Vaughan & Natalia Livingston are great together & their pairing was actually fun & a healthy choice for Lucky. Whatever chemistry Tyler & Natalia had as Nik & Em, they don''t have it now & that's the main reason they should have her hear him call Liz's name.

Greg & Natalia are much better togethor than Tyler & Natalia, Tyler & Rebecca, or Greg & Rebecca. On a side note, I think Tyler looks a little chunky. I think it's probably muscle under his clothes, but I'm used to him being/looking much slimmer.

That's why I love this forum. We all have different opinions. I don't think Nic needs to be taken down a peg. Personally I enjoy the darker side of his character. Rebecca needs to the feel the heat for what she did. She's gotten off too easily if you ask me. Ok, so she didn't quite go through with it, but it's the principle. As far as Liz and Nic, this is wrong on so many levels. The main one being Emily was her best friend. Dead or not she shouldn't be hooking up with her ex, not to mention he's her ex boyfriend/husband's brother. Same for Nic, how're you gonna hook up with your brother's ex plus the best friend of the "love of your life". A touch gross for me.

However, perhaps its my age and experiences, but I really don't see the issue with the Nic/Liz pairing. In fact I like it. I mean they have been pushed together so much, spending a lot of time together, and how could feelings not evolve? However, what I don't like is the lying to Lucky. Be upfront with the guy, heck he practically pushed Liz into Nic's arms. My fear is teh great relationship that has developed between the Cassadines and Spencers (ie Lucky and Nic) over the years, I really hate to see it destroyed over this. What I think needs to happen is some fresh blood for these folks. Not necessarily new characters, but maybe bring some back or put them in new circles, or something. I mean seriously You would think the only people available for Liz to date are Jason, Lucky and Nic. What about Matt? Dante (although he is interested in Lulu). mix it up a bit, that is all I am asking.

I think its cool but Elizabeth should have learned her lesson a long time ago about lies. If memory serves me right, they got her in a little trouble in the past. Really loving Nikolas' dark side.

I'm liking the darker side of nic too. Just so long as he doesn't get real bad...you know like killing people or trying to freeze the world....anyway If Liz wanted a troubled man, why not stay with Jason.I like Liz and Jason, if he could blance home & mob world.

Granted, it does violate the friends/exes/siblings rule, but then that rule really never applied in Soapland or there wouldn't be soaps! I just don't think there is any spark left between Lucky & Liz. Let Liz go back to being the bad girl and bang her ex-brother-in-law, and let Lucky find happiness elsewhere. Greg had really good chemistry with Natalia in the Carnival scenes.
