Viki walked into the Palace and saw Charlie's hand on Dorian's. Charlie was delighted to see Viki, and Dorian told her that everyone missed her. She and Charlie help each other, said Dorian. Awkward! Viki, explaining that she was at the Palace to meet Marty, said she wanted to talk to Charlie privately. "I came
for you, too," Viki told a hopeful Charlie, and admitted she missed her Llanview family while in London. But she was afraid and didn't know if she could cope with more disappointment and hurt, Viki added, uncertain whether she was strong enough to live with the worry that Charlie might drink again. Still, Viki told Charlie that she wanted him back — the real Eiffel Tower in Paris reminded Viki that Charlie always puts things back together. "I don't want to live without you," she sobbed. She wondered if he could put them back together again. "Does this answer your question?" Charlie asked as he pulled her in for a kiss.
After Matthew overheard his parents talking about getting married, Bo confirmed the news. Although he was a little annoyed that they had waited this long to tell them, Matthew was delighted. Bo asked Matthew to be his best man. Clint walked in and got snippy when Bo delivered the wedding news. He wanted the four of them to pull together and be a part of each other's lives, said Bo. Clint told them that Kim was no longer in the picture, welcoming their "I told you so" remarks. After Clint left, Nora suggested they put off their wedding for a hurt Clint’s sake, but Bo said absolutely not. "We move on," Bo said, and showed Nora the ring. "It's gorgeous," she gushed. Bo slipped it on her finger and the two kissed. "This is awesome," Matthew said.
Rex learned that the nurse they were speaking to had always been at Llanview. She didn't recognize Rex, so he explained he had been abandoned at the hospital. Rex showed her a photo of Allison Perkins. The nurse seemed to recognize Allison and was stunned to learn that Allison had taken the abandoned baby. Gigi hoped that the nurse remembered something about that night that would help Rex find his parents. The nurse did remember that evening, "like it just happened." It had been her husband's birthday and there had been a terrible accident. She met the ambulance and had seen a little baby bundle on the gurney. "It must have been you," she said, looking at Rex. She explained that she had seen someone enter a car and drive off. She remembered that Allison had come to claim baby Rex. "She seemed so sincere," the nurse recalled. "If I had known the truth I would never had let her take you.” The nurse remembered that the baby had something with him. "I still have it. I can show you," she said, and handed him half a heart on a chain. There was no note. Gigi assured Rex that whoever left that necklace for him was "out there waiting to be found."
Marty, pushed down the stairs by an unknown person with dark
gloves, was unconscious on the landing. John headed up the stairs (the elevator was out) and found her. At the top of the stairs he saw Natalie, who ran to get a doctor. John asked Marty to come back to him. "Where am I?" she asked groggily. Greg rushed down the stairs, asked her some questions and checked her pupils. Natalie watched as a nurse joined in. John informed Greg that Marty was pregnant. Once in the ER, Marty said that she was cramping and bleeding. Greg asked how she fell. "I was pushed," she said. Marty's OB/GYN was rushed into her room. As Marty tried to calm down, John assured her that everything would be alright no matter what. "I can't find a heartbeat," the OB/GYN said solemnly.
When Todd ran into Téa in the hospital outside of Marty's office, she asked him what was wrong. Todd pointed at the name on Marty's office, and began to rant and rave about Cole cheating on Starr and how Marty had returned to Llanview to stick it to him. They’d all be better off if she was dead, he raged, then began drinking at the Palace bar. Todd remembered his unpleasant conversation with Marty. Dorian came up from behind and began talking to him.
Téa learned that Marty had been pushed and worried that Todd might have done it. Checking out the crime scene, she recalled Todd saying they'd all be better off if Marty was dead.
Tuesday
Jack came upon Kelly in the living room of La Boulaie and inquired about her mother's murder. Kelly explained that the coroner insists she died of natural causes, but that didn't satisfy her. Blair chuckled as she watched Kelly replace one of Dorian's flowerpots on the mantel with a vase her mother made. Later, Jack told Blair he knows about the baby Blair lost and suggested that's why she hates Kelly. Blair said it's complicated, and admitted that it doesn't matter how many kids she has, a mother still misses the ones she lost. Jack asked about the vase Kelly put on the mantel, and Kelly eavesdropped as Blair said they'd probably have to look at that ugly thing for a while. Blair apologized to Kelly and they agreed to proudly display the vase with some flowers in it.
At the Palace, Renee seated Dorian as far as away as possible from newly reunited Viki and Charlie. Viki admitted that being together again felt right. Charlie promised that he's a better person now and won't let her down again. Viki wanted to leave, and Charlie asked if it'll be okay with Jessica if he comes home. Viki suggested that Jessica needs to face the world as it is now, not as she remembers it. On their way out, they had a run-in with Dorian, who gloated that she has some business to discuss with Charlie. Viki's face dropped. Dorian explained that she'd made Charlie a handsome offer to erect the new city center. Charlie pulled Viki aside and volunteered to decline the job offer if it's going to cause a problem for them. Viki could see how excited he was, and agreed to not stand in his way. Charlie accepted the job, but Viki warned Dorian that if she pulls anything shady, Viki will make her regret it.
Upstairs, Ford was taking advantage of the suite the college booked for a visiting director and tried to persuade Langston to stay there with him. Langston noted that the Palace has special meaning for her and Markko, but he didn't seem to mind. Ford kissed her all over and removed her blouse, but Langston stopped him to ask if he sees other people. Just then, he received a call from Karen, the pizza delivery girl. Ford lied to Langston that it was just a male student who wanted help with a project, then told Lang that she's the only woman for him. As they resumed making out, Langston said she wished they could go public.
Markko found Cole angrily stewing at home, and Cole explained what happened with Hannah and Todd. "I'm not the one who's been cheating," he declared, which didn't go unnoticed by Markko. Cut to Todd and Starr at his office, where he said something cryptic about why he did what he did. "What did you do, Dad?" she asked. He averted the question, and reiterated his belief that Starr will always stand by him in the end. When Starr returned home, she made it clear to Cole that she'll never push Todd out of her life. Markko headed to the Palace to make romantic plans for him and Langston, and overheard a waiter taking a call from "Mr. Del Toro," who was really Ford impersonating the director. Minutes later, he was the one making the delivery to their room, on the verge of finding Langston in flagrante with Ford.
At the hospital, the doctor advised Marty that she'd miscarried, which Marty already knew. John wrapped his arms around Marty as she began to cry. Marty began to apologize for what happened, but John told her she did nothing wrong. John then blamed himself for being away in California, but she said the only person they have to blame is whoever pushed her down the stairs. John mentioned that Natalie was at the top of the stairs when he found Marty, which made Marty start to think. Meanwhile, Natalie ran into Téa and asked why she was there, and Téa flashed back to Todd saying they'd all be better off if Marty were dead. Téa excused herself to phone Todd, while Natalie waited for word on Marty's condition. Nat even tried to steal a look at Marty's chart, which the nurse quickly snatched away. Téa caught on that Natalie seemed very anxious, and vice versa, while Marty suggested to John that Natalie's the one who pushed her. She recalled the nasty conversation that they had at the coffee shop and their run-in at the hospital right before her fall. John agreed to look into her claim, then came face-to-face with Natalie when he emerged from Marty's room. She immediately asked about Marty and was crushed to hear that they lost the baby. When she expressed her sympathy, John coldly asked if she was really sorry. Téa went to see Todd and asked flat out if he pushed Marty down the stairs.
Wednesday
Danielle could hardly believe what she was reading about her father as she rehearsed in front of the mirror for the play. Nate stopped by to run lines, but they first shared some pizza and talked about her and Matthew. Dani was unclear as to whether she and Matt are really are a couple, saying her parents weren't exactly great role models in the romance department. Later, things got awkward when he stroked her face as part of the scene. When the script called for a kiss, Dani was nervous, but Nate persuaded her to go for it. Afterward, Dani had to catch her breath. Meanwhile, Destiny ran into Matthew at Bo's empty hospital room and asked how his dad was doing. When he reported that Bo and Nora are planning a wedding, Destiny asked if he'd be bringing Danielle as his date.
Cole told Starr that Todd claimed she'd always forgive him, no matter what. After vowing to not let Todd come between them, Cole and Starr reaffirmed their love for one another and began to make love. Afterward, Starr handed him two tickets and asked if he'd take her to her last prom. He agreed, recalling how strange their prior two proms had been. Meanwhile, Langston and Ford were in the middle of getting it on at the Palace when Markko, dressed as a bellhop, arrived with room service for the illustrious Latin director who was supposed to be staying there. Markko was disappointed to see Ford at the door instead of Del Toro, but Ford offered to arrange an introduction when the director comes to town. Langston cowered behind the door in fear, then ran to the bathroom when Ford actually invited Markko in. Markko innocently reminisced about his time at the Palace with Langston and revealed his plans to re-create that night after prom. Once he was gone, Langston took out her anger on Ford with a kick to the crotch. Markko, meanwhile, returned to the loft and told Starr and Cole that Ford was using the director's suite to hook up with someone.
After asking if he pushed Marty, Téa explained to a clueless Todd that Marty fell down the stairs at the hospital. Téa clearly still believed that Todd was capable of pushing Marty down the stairs, and Todd wanted her gone. She explained that she's just looking out for him as his attorney. She then asked him one more time, and he quietly answered, "Yes, yes, I pushed Marty down the stairs." But he was just testing her, which made her blow up at him. Once she was gone, he made a couple calls to get info on Marty's condition, to no avail.
At the hospital, John asked Natalie about what happened between her and Marty the day before. Natalie admitted that she'd said some things she regrets and feels horrible about it. When he asked if she wished that the baby was gone, she swore she didn't mean that, that she simply wondered what would have been had Marty not gotten pregnant. John informed Natalie that Marty says she was pushed. Natalie knew what he was getting at and told him to just ask her already if she pushed Marty down the stairs. When he did, she was dismayed that he'd even entertain such an idea. Natalie insisted that she tried to apologize to Marty after their argument but that she did not push Marty down the stairs or see who did. She told him to go back to Marty, but before he walked away, she reiterated that she was sorry for the loss of his baby.
Thursday
Todd tried once again to call the hospital regarding Marty's condition and even resorted to pretending to be Cole. Cole, meanwhile, still didn't know the bad news, seeing as he'd been making love to Starr all night. Before heading to work, Markko told Langston that this year's prom is going to be one they'll never forget. Once he was gone, Cole asked Langston if she'd really broken things off with Ford. She lied that she did. Later, Starr noticed that Langston didn't seem too upset to hear that Ford was with "another girl," prompting Starr to ask if Langston was the girl with Ford at the hotel. Langston swore on their friendship that she's through with Ford.
Kelly arrived for work at The Sun and noticed that Todd was very distracted. As she tried to catch him up on her trip to California with John, Todd obsessively looked over press clippings about Marty. Todd suddenly had the urge to go out, leaving Kelly confused. Later, she was stunned to find Rodney standing in her office.
Over breakfast at the Buenos Dias, Cristian told an excited Layla he has something he wants to ask her. Ford's arrival broke the moment, and Layla teased their roommate about being out all night with his pizza delivery girl. "That's who you think I was with last night?" Ford chuckled, just as Markko arrived. Markko advised Ford to be careful with the pizza delivery girl, because she's an old friend. Ford smiled to himself when Markko later boasted that he and Langston have no secrets. Meanwhile, Cristian resumed his proposition for Layla, who was disappointed to realize he was just asking her to the prom. He promised her that their prom date would be the best night of her life.
Jessica pouted as she gazed at her solo prom ticket and threw her arms around Viki as soon as she walked in, saying how horrible everything has been. Viki asked Jessica if she'd had any progress recovering her memories, but Jessica still believed she was 17. She told her all about Cristian and Layla, so Viki advised her to bring someone else to the prom.
Natalie interrupted Brody's workout to vent about her run-in with John, informing him that John believes she pushed Marty down the stairs. Brody reminded Natalie that John is just following protocol and looking at all the angles. Meanwhile, Marty demanded to John that Natalie be punished for pushing her. John asked if she's certain that Natalie caused her fall, and while she didn't actually see Natalie do it, she recalled having seen Natalie right before that outside her office. The nurse came in with a message from Cole (really Todd) and told Marty her son already knows about the miscarriage. Marty was confused. She phoned Cole to break the news to him, then told John that it must have been someone else who spoke with the nurse. She then pressed John to arrest Marty and accused him of protecting her. He promised that whoever hurt her, even if it's Natalie, he will bring to justice. John summoned Brody to the hospital to take Marty's statement, and when Brody told John how sorry he was, he had to confess that he'd just seen Natalie. John led Brody in to see Marty, who reluctantly gave her statement, pointing out that Brody was there when Natalie verbally attacked her at the coffee shop. Outside, Todd tried to sneak a peek at Marty's chart. Just as Marty began to remember something about her confrontation with Todd, Cole caught Todd looking at Marty's file, while John came upon Natalie in the stairwell.
Friday
Blair was rehearsing a romantic tune at Capricorn while Eli waited in the wings, enjoying the smooth sounds of her voice. When she finished up, she was startled to see him standing there, and he was quick to compliment her on her singing talent. He asked how her pizza night with Jack went, and she told him about Kelly crashing their party. Eli pressed her about why she can't get along with Kelly, and Blair admitted that she lost a baby because of her cousin's reckless driving.
At The Sun, Kelly was startled by Rodney's appearance in her office. He asked her not to go, and she was shocked to hear the supposed mute speak. He had something he needed to tell her and, pointing to her mother's vase, said, "Melinda ... murdered." She begged Rodney to say something else, but all he did was hand her John's business card. Kelly went to make a call, and when she returned, Rodney was lying unconscious on the floor.
John found Natalie in the hospital stairwell and asked what she was doing there. Natalie accused him of jumping to conclusions about her, but he told her that's not the case. She asked him what he really thinks, and he assured her that he doesn't think she’d hurt a pregnant woman. Natalie admitted that she meant what she said that they had a chance, before he knew Marty was pregnant, but the minute he accused her of hurting Marty, he destroyed anything they could have had. After Natalie stormed out, John resumed his sweep of the crime scene and uncovered a black fiber. Marty, meanwhile, was giving Brody her statement and informed him that she'd had a run-in with Todd the day of her fall as well. Marty recalled the nasty things he'd said about Cole and about her and John. Suddenly, Marty recalled Todd's veiled "We'll see" threat.
Cole found Todd lurking outside Marty's hospital room and asked what he was doing there. Todd explained that he's a major benefactor and can do whatever he wants there, then claimed he just wanted to see how Marty was doing. Cole blurted out that she miscarried, which Todd didn't yet know. Brody emerged from Marty's hospital room to find Todd and Cole on the verge of a scuffle and advised Cole to go see his mother. John returned to hear Marty say that they have two suspects and Todd is one of them. Marty begged an irate Cole not to go after Todd. Meanwhile, Brody tried to question Todd about his whereabouts the night before.
Starr found Hannah at her door and took it as the perfect opportunity to confront her about trying to steal Cole. Hannah claimed that nothing is going on between her and Cole. When Hannah heard that Cole was at the hospital visiting his mom, Hannah asked what was wrong and Starr revealed that Marty lost her baby. Cole returned to the apartment and informed Starr that her father caused Marty's miscarriage, while Hannah listened nearby. Meanwhile, Langston ran into Ford and tried to break things off with him, but when he claimed he was falling in love with her, she started to rethink things. He was about to walk away from her when she asked him if they could make it work for real.
