Monday
Shane was about to reveal his birth date to Rex when Roxy called with the news of Charlie and Viki's engagement. At the other end of the diner, Viki was turning down Charlie's "proposal" when Shane came running over and excitedly yelled, "You guys are getting married!?" Once Rex and Shane were out of earshot, Viki confessed that she'd spoken with Roxy earlier about whatever it is Charlie was planning to tell her and they both jumped to conclusions. Viki suddenly realized that Charlie wasn't proposing marriage. Charlie explained that they hadn't known each other long enough to get married and Viki agreed. "I just want to cherish the time that we have together," he told her. Viki was relieved, but asked what it was Charlie had come there to tell her. Trying to cover, Charlie admitted that he misses living with her. Viki invited him to come back to Llanfair and he readily accepted.
Meanwhile, Shane lamented his mom's dating status to Rex and noted that Rex would be a good dad. Charlie came by and Rex remarked how happy he is to have found his dad. Jared walked in and freaked when he overheard Rex congratulating Charlie on his engagement. Charlie set the record straight with everyone and explained that he wasn't marrying Viki, but was moving back to Llanfair. Once Shane and Rex were gone, Charlie explained what had happened at the diner and said he wants to relish his time with Viki should the truth about him and Jared come out.
Todd asked Gigi what she's doing at Llanfair and didn't believe that she was living there. Todd guessed that Ramsey's the reason she stayed in town and that he is threatening her. Gigi didn't want to discuss Ramsey's threats. Gigi acknowledged that Ramsey is afraid she'll turn him in for kidnapping, pointing out that Todd could go to jail, too. Viki walked in and asked who's going to jail. Todd admitted to Viki that he held Gigi and Shane hostage when he was looking for Sam. Viki was upset with her brother, but Gigi came to his defense by saying that Todd was actually pretty good with Shane. Rex brought Shane back to Llanfair and Shane excitedly informed his mom that Rex will be co-coaching his Little League team. In the foyer, Rex asked Gigi why Shane has to keep his birthday a secret. Gigi confessed that Shane was born on March 25, which prompted Rex to think back to a night of passion between him and Gigi on the Fourth of July. Gigi explained that Shane was three months early and that's why he has asthma. She also lied that she met someone and fell in love with him right after Rex left town. Rex seemed to buy the story, but said he'd like to take Shane to baseball practice again sometime.
Jessica called Nash and was curious when she heard Sarah's voice in his suite. "It's the TV," Nash lied, then quickly ended the conversation. Nash admitted to Sarah that he hadn't told his wife that he is sharing a two-bedroom suite with Sarah, who hadn't mentioned it to Cristian either. Nash casually joked about not having anything to feel guilty about ... yet. Then they headed out to a reception. Meanwhile, Blair was enjoying her first night as Capricorn's owner and asked Cristian to have a drink with her. They toasted to Capricorn and their respective relationships, even though Cristian was clearly unsettled by Sarah's absence.
Langston and Starr couldn't believe what they saw on the pregnancy test stick. "I'm pregnant," Starr stated, dumbfounded. Starr started to freak out as the revelation sunk in, and asked Langston to promise not to tell Cole that she's pregnant. Langston assured her friend that she'll do whatever Starr needs. While taking a nap, Starr had a dream about Cole accepting the pregnancy and standing by her. In her dream, Cole refused to leave her room and Starr woke up in tears. Her mother rushed in and comforted her. Blair asked Starr to tell her mom what's bothering her, but Starr said she couldn't. Blair pointed out that Starr looked like she wasn't feeling well. "You know?" Starr asked, afraid that her mother had figured out that she's pregnant. Meanwhile, Langston met Markko and Cole at the diner and said she wasn't sure another clandestine meeting would be possible between him and Starr. She said she didn't want to see him get into trouble, but Cole remarked that things couldn't get any worse. "Oh, you have no idea," Langston blurted out, prompting curious looks from the boys.
At the Buchanan Enterprises office, Jessica asked Natalie about her night at the cabin with Jared, but she didn't want to talk about it. Jessica explained that Nash was away with Sarah, leaving Jess home alone with her baby and her busy writing career. Natalie asked Jess if she could get a sitter so they could head to Capricorn, where Jessica continued to press Natalie on what happened at the cabin. Natalie thought back to Jared's confession (and their kiss) but told Jessica she didn't miss out on anything. Cristian brought Natalie and Jessica their drinks and asked Jess for the name of the hotel where Nash and Sarah are staying. Meanwhile, Nash and Sarah were enjoying some champagne at the end of a successful night. Cristian called the hotel and was surprised to hear Nash answer the phone as a tipsy Sarah was giggling in the background.
Todd handed Viki a copy of the newspaper article about Clint that he planned to print in The Sun. If Viki could present some evidence that would contradict his unflattering assertions about Clint, then he would revise the story.
Tuesday
Sarah and Nash were clearly drunk when Cristian called and wasn't too thrilled to hear that Nash was in Sarah's room this late. Nash explained to Cristian that by some mistake of the hotel, they were sharing a two-bedroom suite. Sarah grabbed the phone from Nash and stumbled around the room as she
talked about how huge the apartment is. She rolled onto an ottoman and said she really missed her boyfriend, revealing that they were drinking lots of expensive champagne to celebrate a successful day. Sarah went off to look for her phone, spilled the champagne all over the floor and forgot she was even talking to Cris. After a few failed attempts to say good-night to him in French, she hung up and sipped some more bubbly with Nash, assuring him that everything was "super cool."
Over drinks with Natalie at Capricorn, Jessica jokingly suggested that "Uncle Jared" join them. Jessica summoned Jared to their table, then promptly left Natalie alone with him. Jared almost instantly hit on her, which reminded Natalie that he wants the world to know how he feels about her, but she won't let him. Meanwhile, Cristian informed Jessica that their
respective partners are sharing a suite in Napa. Neither seemed totally certain that they were cool with it. Layla and Talia showed up at Capricorn, too, and Talia was clearly nervous about running into Antonio there. John explained to Talia that he's certain Ramsey planted the drugs on him at the
bust. Layla approached Antonio, who was getting drunk and belligerent with new partner Eddie. Antonio looked over at John and Talia in their close discussion, while Layla came over to advise Talia to pay some attention to her boyfriend. Once Talia was at the bar, Layla asked John what he was doing
with Talia and pointed out that John did dump Evangeline for Natalie. Antonio carelessly quipped about how easy it is to lose things, but she said he doesn't have to lose anything else. Eddie watched as Antonio berated John and Talia for questioning Ramsey's authority.
Cole picked up on a weird vibe from Langston and demanded to know what's going on with Starr. He threatened to head right over to La Boulaie, so Langston sat him down and said that Starr hasn't been feeling well due to stress. Cole expressed his regret for what happened the night before Starr was supposed to go to Hawaii, only because her dad found them and is now keeping them apart. Langston remained distracted about Starr while trying to study with Markko, who offered that she could tell him anything. Langston asked Markko to walk her home, leaving Cole alone at the diner. Cole thought back to John warning him not to go near Starr or her house.
Ramsey told a mysterious woman who was raving about the view to go back upstairs when he heard a knock on the door. It was Todd there to issue a few threats. Not only did he assure Ramsey that he'd get his penthouse back, he revealed that he had a little chat with Gigi and there's something to be
said for the power of two. Once Todd was gone, the woman came back downstairs and informed Ramsey that she kept the drapes open upstairs "for the view." But for who?
As Sarah and Nash continued to get drunk from Nash's magic bottle of unlimited champagne, Nash revealed that he'd once had a vineyard in Napa. Sarah shared that she had a dream that she was in a band called Afternoon Confusion, which was funny considering she had a band called Midnight Logic in real life. Nash asked Sarah what her real dreams are. She admitted that
her music took a hit after she was nearly strangled to death by the Music Box Killer, but that she had started writing music again. She also really likes booking bands, she added. Nash told her she has a future in his wine business, too, if she wants it. Meanwhile, Jessica chatted with Cristian and
lamented not having gone on the trip with Nash. While Cris was off getting them some drinks, Jessica leaned over and observed Natalie with Jared, who was telling Natalie that she's got the hots for him. Jessica finally walked over and hinted that she knows what's going on between them. Natalie was immediately defensive and blurted out that there's nothing going on between her and Jared. "I was just going to say that you guys are throwing yourself into your work to forget the past," Jessica stated. "I'm way over the past," Natalie snapped before stalking off. Jared didn't make Jessica feel any
better about her own situation by suggesting that Napa is a lovely place to visit with your loved one this time of year.
Sarah laughed at herself as she tried to stand up and fell onto Nash. They both agreed it was best they go to bed — separately, of course. Back in Llanview, Natalie asked Layla about the wedding dress she was designing for Adriana, prompting a bitchy response from Layla. Natalie went over to
John's corner of the bar just in time to hear Eddie accuse John of trying to date Talia. Natalie asked if she was out on a date with John, but Talia said she came there with Layla. Antonio drunkenly suggested to Cristian that Sarah can't be trusted, then asked Jessica if it bothers her that Nash and
Sarah are together in Napa. Talia lamented to John that she blames her problems with Antonio on Ramsey and wondered why he is after them. Meanwhile, Ramsey talked to a mystery guest about the spectacular view at the penthouse and sat down to read a mystery novel to him/her.
Wednesday
Gigi brought Clint some coffee and flinched when she heard that Rex was coming by. Lindsay called Clint to report that Bo had barely slept a wink over BE and offered her assistance, but Clint insisted that he would no longer resort to underhanded tactics. Clint met with Calvin Jenkins and shamed him for pulling some "dirty tricks" on BE. Calvin questioned Clint on his preemptive strike against Warren Cobb, leaving Clint with a veiled threat that Calvin will protect himself first.
Lindsay met Dorian at the Palace to help with the wedding planning and asked what had made her change her mind about Adriana and Rex. Dorian lied that it was all Rex and his charms, of course, which Lindsay knows something about. After Layla presented them with the designs for the wedding dress, Lindsay gossiped with Dorian about Bo and Nora's little drive up to the lodge. When she noticed that Dorian seemed rather pleased, Lindsay wondered if that meant Dorian wanted to reunite with Clint. Dorian scoffed at the idea. Lindsay alluded to some "business situations" that she's helped out Clint with. Dorian urged her to keep sharing, so Lindsay admitted that she'd provided with Clint with some damaging info. Afterward, Dorian was quite pleased with herself.
Rex ran into Shane at BE and asked what Shane wished for when he blew out his birthday candles. Gigi put a stop to their conversation, informing Shane that Rex can't give him what he wants (which is a dad). Shane asked Rex about his "cool" job and Rex gave him a lesson on background checks. Shane went off to get ready for school, leaving Charlie to casually ask about Jared's whereabouts. Sensing a little jealousy, Gigi asked how Rex would feel if she and Jared were to date. Rex evaded the question by expressing his confidence that Gigi can handle herself. After Rex and Shane left, Jared pointed out to Gigi that Rex gave him an awfully strange look on his way out. Jared asked if there was anything going on between Gigi and Rex, but she insisted that Rex is marrying the love of his life and Gigi has nothing to do with it.
Charlie awoke from a terrible dream screaming out Jimmy's name, prompting Viki to ask who Jimmy is. Charlie admitted that Jimmy was his son who died as a child and that he blamed himself because he abandoned his family. Charlie explained that Jimmy was just trying to get away from his abusive stepfather and ran out into the street, where he was hit by a car. Viki commended Charlie on being brave enough to share his story with her and felt closer to him because of it. She wished that he could forgive himself and suggested that perhaps in time he would. “I am so grateful that you are in my life,” he told her before going to breakfast with Rex.
Natalie met with Pamela Stuart and said she needed to talk about her "son" Jared. Pamela lied that she was giving her newfound son some space to come to terms with the truth, prompting Natalie to call her out on her lies. Natalie compared Pamela worming her way into Asa's life to Jared and the Buchanans, suggesting that Jared just wanted the Buchanans' money. Pamela said money was not Jared's motive at all and insisted that Natalie hear her side of the story. She went on to explain that her brother was the abusive stepfather of Jared and Jimmy. Nat was stunned to hear that Jared had a brother who died in front of his very eyes. Pamela further revealed that she used to share stories of her time with Asa to show Jared that he can make something of himself, too. Natalie seemed touched by Pamela's account and thanked Pam for her time. Back at BE, she told Jared that her "meeting" gave her a lot to think about. Meanwhile, Viki brought Todd's article to Clint, who wasn't surprised to see what Todd planned to print. Viki suggested that Clint have a conversation with Todd to set the record straight, but Clint was honest that Todd's piece wasn't far from the truth. Clint argued that he wasn't going to let anyone destroy BE or the Buchanan family, whatever it takes. Viki was in total disbelief and didn't recognize the person standing before her. Now that Asa's gone, he has to protect his family and employees, Clint stated. Viki stormed out and brought the article to Natalie, telling her daughter that she doesn't know Clint at all.
At the Palace, Rex noted something strange in Charlie's voice as he imagined what it's like for Shane to grow up without a father. Charlie just said he needs to right an old wrong. Later, Charlie summoned Jared to the Palace and tried to convince Jared not to blame himself for Jimmy's death. Just as Charlie suggested that they let Jared's stepfather pay for what happened, Jared recognized Pamela from across the restaurant. She introduced herself to Charlie as Jared's mother. Meanwhile, Calvin Jenkins was dining with someone nearby and offered to do whatever he/she likes despite his own personal reservations. "I don't care what you like. I'm only interested in bringing Clint Buchanan down," declared Dorian.
Thursday
As Eddie eavesdropped, Talia tried to get Antonio to talk to her at the station but received a chilly reception. Ramsey called Antonio to his office to praise Antonio's work in Angel Square, then compared John the resident lothario to Antonio the family man. "Family could drive a man to do just about anything,” Ramsey stated. Outside, John was telling Talia that they have a real connection. She agreed, admitting that she'd tried to tell herself it was just because they work well together. John proposed it was much more than that, but their conversation was interrupted by Antonio's exit from Ramsey's office. Later, Ramsey spotted Talia in what appeared to be a cozy position with John.
Pamela introduced herself to Charlie as Jared's mom but seethed, "You bastard” when she realized who Charlie is. Jared cleared a few things up for Pamela about his and Charlie's ruse. Charlie thanked Pam for looking out for Jared when he was a kid, but she was hard-pressed to forget his neglectful past. Charlie blamed Pamela's brother for all the troubles Jared and his mom faced back then. Pamela advised Jared that he sort out this Buchanan mess soon, adding that she's sure Natalie will keep mum. She also warned Charlie to watch his drinking now that he has a second chance with his son. She wished Jared the best and left for the airport. Before Jared headed back to the office, Charlie reminded his son to act like Natalie's uncle and Jared caught his drift.
Dorian assured Calvin that her attempt to bring down Clint and BE is simply business and not personal. Calvin pointed out that he knows she was dating Clint last year and deduced that her plan is all about revenge. Dorian asked Cal what kind of skeletons he's got in his closet and advised him to do exactly what she says or she'll find out.
At BE, Bo explained to Natalie and Viki why Clint was taking such drastic actions to save the family business, although he acknowledged that Clint had gone too far by humiliating Warren in front of the family. Even Natalie insisted to Viki that Clint is under a lot of pressure. Later, Viki picked up on a strange vibe from Natalie when she mentioned Jared's name. Thinking back to her kiss at the lodge with him, Natalie claimed that she and Jared just don't often agree on "stuff” and it's nothing she can't handle. Jared returned and asked Natalie why she had to summon Pamela to Llanview. Natalie responded that she's simply looking out for her family, but Jared wouldn't let her leave and pinned her up against the wall. She pushed him off of her and vowed to keep things secret for as long as she wants.
Certain that someone is conspiring against him, Clint met with Lindsay and subtly asked her to dig up something on Calvin. Even though Calvin had been a true friend to Asa, Clint remained suspicious. Just as Lindsay was saying she'll see what she can do, Bo walked in. Lindsay covered that Nora's got her eye on a painting at that gallery and Clint is going to buy it for her. Bo and Clint were arguing about taking down Cobb when Natalie and Jared interrupted to remind them about a conference call. Bo retreated to his office, but Natalie followed to urge him not to give up on her dad.
At school, Langston gave Starr a weird look when Markko pointed out that the school trip was postponed for nine months. Starr ranted to herself at her locker about how she'll be changing diapers by then. Frustrated, she tossed a book into her locker and cried, "I can't do this!” Cole came around the corner and asked what it was she can't do. She reminded him that they can't see each other because her dad will go after Cole. He asked if she'd told her parents what happened "that night” between them, but she said that she had lied for his sake. Cole insisted that they didn't do anything wrong that night. Starr implied that something else happened then, too, and as it seemed she might mention the baby, Langston interrupted and pulled Starr away. "Starr was about to say something, and you know what it is,” Cole said to Langston, who warned Cole that he'd better just forget about Starr. Cole sensed that there's something Langston's not telling him and continued to press her, but she ran off to class. Meanwhile, Markko told Starr that they've all been concerned about her and she shouldn't feel like Langston's the only person she can trust. Later, Langston mentioned to Starr that she might want to talk to an adult about her pregnancy. Starr admitted that she came close to telling her mom. "What are you going to do?” Langston asked.
Viki met Charlie for lunch at the Palace and remarked that she hardly knows her ex-husband these days, asking if you can ever really know a person. Charlie wondered if learning that his waitress girlfriend lived in a mansion was as big a surprise as whatever she's just learned about Clint. Viki spotted Calvin across the restaurant and was curious as to why Dorian and Calvin were lunching. Dorian lied that they happen to know each other and were just catching up. Dorian smiled as she following Calvin out.
Friday
Rex needed to take a break from wedding planning and excused himself. Of course, Dorian hinted to Layla that he was probably off to see Gigi. Adriana arrived and wanted to know where Rex was. Dorian said she didn't know. Layla told Adriana that Rex was spotted with Shane earlier in the day, making Adriana furious. Dorian tried to calm Adriana and admonished Layla for getting her daughter all upset. Adriana called Rex, only to discover his phone in the sofa. Adriana was surprised that Rex would leave without his phone and decided to go off and look for him. Dorian and Layla again questioned Shane's paternity.
At Llanview P.D., John and Talia were doing some heavy flirting, witnessed by Ramsey. John suggested they meet later at an out of the way hotel. The other cops in the squad room were whispering about John and Talia spending so much time together. John managed to get in a good jab against bigmouthed Eddie, noting that Talia could take him in a fight. Antonio continued to give Talia the cold shoulder. She tried talking to him, to no avail, leaving her frustrated. John told Talia he was leaving and suggested she meet him. Antonio watched the exchange and Ramsey egged on Antonio's insecurities. Later, Talia met John at the hotel. She entered the room and neither exchanged words. Meanwhile, Ramsey sent Antonio on a stakeout at the motel
where John and Talia were meeting. Antonio's partner noticed his fellow officer's cars in the parking lot. Antonio was not pleased.
In school, Langston watched Cole and Markko having as word fight with mops, realizing Cole is not father material yet. Langston barked at the boys to grow up. Cole was frustrated by the whole situation with Starr and Todd. He then decided to confront Todd directly and stormed off.
At the diner, Rex ran into Marcie and Michael. He asked Michael to be one of his groomsmen. Michael looked uncomfortable and turned him down. Michael stated he had a hectic schedule and didn't want to commit if he couldn't be sure he'd make it. Michael left to return to the hospital and Rex asked Marcie what that was all about. Marcie said that their relationship has been stressed ever since she got out of jail. Rex tried to bolster her spirits but she didn't want this to be all about her. The two then mentioned all the hours Gigi had been working. Rex headed out to B.E. and Marcie saw Langston come into the diner. She went over to Langston and stated that Starr owes her an apology. She mentioned the time when Starr stated that Todd was abusing "Tommy" and wanted to know what was going on between Starr and Todd.
Marcie then gave Langston some of the baby's pictures to give to Starr and her family. Adriana arrived at the diner and found Marcie. She relayed that Rex was there but left. Shane arrived and showed Marcie his superhero comic based on his dad. Adriana made a quick exit.
Todd went to Gigi and asked her to sign a document. He said it was a
document stating all of Ramsey's illegal doings. "Are you high?" she
queried? Todd said it was their insurance policy. Gigi refused to sign,
worried that Shane would be endangered if Ramsey went after them again. Todd was furious and brought up the fact that Gigi helped that fugitive Marcie hide his kid. As Todd started ranting, Rex burst in and wanted to know what was going on. Todd said he hopes Rex doesn't procreate but if he does, he hopes someone kidnaps his kid. After Todd left, Gigi got teary and said she never should have come to Llanview. Rex asked what was wrong with her. She stated this was not the way she hoped her life would turn out.
Dorian made a call, obviously looking for someone. She got her call
returned. Her person located Brody Lovett. Dorian was pleased.
Langston visited Starr and realized that Starr was considering terminating her pregnancy.... Cole arrived at Todd's doorstep. "You got a death wish?" Todd asked. "I'm not here to see Starr," Cole replied. "I'm here to see you." ... Antonio knocked on the motel room door. John opened it, revealing Talia in bed. Antonio punched John. As Antonio's partner warned Ramsey what was going down, Ramsey was very satisfied.
