One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of August 16, 2010
Monday
Both Mandy and Clint asked for their cash/favors from David and Dorian, respectively. When Dorian told Mandy that she knew Mandy and David weren't in love, Mandy insisted that she and David were "forever," then caved and admitted David had paid her to pretend to love him. Meanwhile, David Téased Clint with information about Kim. "How did you get her to leave?" Clint demanded to know. Reassured that Clint wouldn't kill him, David gave Clint a USB with all the information he wanted about Kim.
David and Dorian ran into each other outside of Rodi's, displayed proof of each other's chicanery, declared their hatred for each other... then melted into a passionate kiss.
Dani asked Todd if he and Téa "had a place." The father and daughter decided that Rodi's would be their place. When Todd's hired hand admitted he'd lost Téa, Todd fired him, but vowed he wouldn't give up trying to find his wife.
At the hospice in St. Kitts, Shaun tried to convince Téa to let Todd and Dani be with her, and offered to bring Téa home. Téa declined, and said goodbye to Shaun with a big hug. Téa was left alone as Dani and Todd looked at the shooting stars in the sky. "Good night, Mom," Dani said.
Blair was reading Téa's book on Dani when Eli came in and told her he was avoiding John McBain. Blair wondered what was going on between Eli and John. John was "the other team," Eli explained — when Eli visited Hannah at St. Anne's, John had stopped him from seeing his own client. "He was treating me like a criminal," Eli complained. A somber Blair revealed that Kelly had convinced John that Eli was a criminal, and that Kelly thinks Eli was implicated in her mother's murder. "Kelly can't hurt me," a stunned Eli responded, "I have nothing to hide." Eli urged Blair to do a complete background check on him, an offer Blair declined. Later, Greg called Eli and reported that Téa had checked in. "Good," Eli said. "Everything is going according to my plan."
John told Hannah that he didn't think she had overdosed on purpose, then asked if she'd had a visitor that night. Offering to help her, John asked what Eli had told her to do. Eli had nothing to do with "what I did," said Hannah, who wanted John to leave her alone. With her help, he could put Eli away, encouraged John. Hannah spilled everything Eli did, including forcing her to take the pills to save Cole's life. Hannah added that Eli had pushed Marty. She knew should have told the truth sooner but she wanted to break up Cole and Starr, Hannah explained, plus she didn't think there was enough evidence to put Eli away. "Nobody is going to believe me," she bemoaned. "I believe you," John assured her.
Natalie insisted to Brody that she was carrying John's baby, but Brody wasn't so sure. Viki came home and was delighted to see (or think she saw) Natalie and Brody bonding over the baby. Delighted that Brody would be part of the family, Viki said she wanted a houseful of grandchildren. "You look a little pale," Viki noted of Natalie, who told her mother that she was pregnant, too. Viki was surprised by the news, but happy.
Jessica asked Ford if they had had sex, and let him know that she knew he was tested for Hep C. Ford confirmed that they did in fact have sex. "Why did you lie to me?" cried Jess. He didn't want someone else going after him, Ford explained, then shared more bad news: they didn't use a condom. "I'm sorry," he said. "I'm pregnant," Jessica shot back, insisting the baby was Brody's. Their story would be that they didn't sleep together, Jess said before storming out.
Jessica was thrilled to learn that Natalie was pregnant. Natalie explained she'd kept mum because she didn't want to take the spotlight away from Jessica and Brody. Brody had a sick look on his face amidst all the congratulatory hugging. Clint showed up and Brody asked for his blessing to marry Jessica. Then Natalie told Clint she was pregnant. "I'm assuming it's John's," he said with a smile. Clint drank a toast to his family as Natalie and Brody stared at each other.
Tuesday
David and Dorian kissed and tried to get the other to say, "I love you" first. "Say it," Dorian insisted. The two danced around and then said, "I love you" in unison.
Ford researched his odds on being the one who got Jessica pregnant. Frustrated, he cranked up the music, which woke James up. Ford said that he was angry because James asked out Langston. Ford thought Langston just said yes to get back at him. Ford demanded that James call off the date with Langston. Ford told James that their newfound mother and brother were family in name only. Ford said he wanted to protect James from Langston. "You can't trust a chick like that," he said.
Starr wanted to talk Langston out of going out with James. Starr tried to convince Langston that James asked her out to make Starr jealous. Langston actually thought Starr was jealous. Starr reminded Langston that James was Ford's brother. "James is not Ford," Langston insisted. Langston admitted she was using James just as he was using her. Dorian and David arrived at La Boulaie giggling. Langston didn't see why Starr was so interested in her date with James.
On the roof of The Sun building, Dani and Todd looked up at the shooting stars. Both agreed they hadn't stopped thinking about Téa. At home, Dani went to bed and Todd called Shaun, who showed up ASAP. Todd wanted him to find Téa. Dani listened to their conversation from the staircase. "I can't do this job. Because Téa doesn't want to be found," Shaun said. "How do you know what Téa wants?" Todd asked. Shaun hedged and didn't let on that he knew exactly where Téa was. Todd didn't think that Téa knew what the right thing was. Shaun again said he couldn't do the job for Todd. Shaun left Todd's house and took a call from Greg. Greg reminded him not to tell any one where Téa was. "Don't worry; you can always count on me," Shaun said, clearly troubled about the situation he was in.
Todd told Dani he would find Téa himself.
On the phone, Eli told Greg he wanted him to stay with Téa till "the end." Greg wondered why it was so important for Eli to separate Téa from Todd and Dani. Téa interrupted Greg and told him that she'd had an episode.
Blair couldn't stop thinking about what John told her about Eli. Blair looked at Eli's passport. Then Blair overheard part of Eli's phone conversation; he quickly lied and said he was talking to his assistant, not Greg. Blair admitted she went into his briefcase. "And I found something very interesting," she said. Blair assured him she just wanted to know where he had been. Eli was relieved to realize that Blair wasn't suspicious of him at all. Eli needed to know that Blair trusted him. She promised him that she did. She wanted to know what his real name was. It was Elijah Clarke Rayburn, he said. He thought having a jailbird brother wouldn't help his law career, so he dumped their last name.
Greg checked out Téa's eyes. She started to cry at the thought of never seeing Dani or Todd again. She wondered if she made the wrong choice. Téa admitted she'd be as furious as they were if the tables were turned. She told Greg about her conversation with Shaun. Greg thought Téa was being heroic by keeping Todd and Dani from seeing her waste away. "You are right," Téa said. "I've said my goodbyes." Greg was relieved that Téa hadn't changed her mind. Greg gave her some drugs for the pain. Téa's eyes went blurry when she stared at a photo of Todd and Dani.
Hannah told John that Eli attacked Ford. Hannah said she begged Ford to tell John the truth about Eli, but he refused. "Ford is scared of Eli," John surmised. John asked if Hannah knew any more of Eli's secrets. John thought Hannah and Ford should have come to the police first. Hannah began to panic about Cole. "Nothing is going to happen to Cole," John promised. "Don't worry. We are going to nail him." Hannah did admit to obstructing justice. Hannah said if she hadn't lied about who pushed Marty, then maybe Eli would have been in jail already.
Dorian and David snuggled in bed. David suggested they get married the next day.
Blair kissed Eli and suggested that they get married tomorrow, as well.
John came to Ford's door and immediately handcuffed him.
Wednesday
Brody told Jessica that he's protecting someone but wouldn't name names. Cole and Starr demanded to know why Brody was watching them. "All John said was to keep you safe," Brody explained. As Cole left to talk to John, Starr chatted with Brody and learned about the upcoming weddings in her family via the Internet.
Haunted by the memory of sleeping with Ford, a desperate Jessica confessed to Kelly that she had had sex with Ford. Kelly wondered if they could trust Ford to keep his mouth shut, and urged Jess to stay calm.
Brody walked in on Jessica asking someone on the other end of the phone, "How long until a paternity test can be performed?"
James dropped by LaBoulaie looking for Ford. "Why don't you just admit it? You are only asking me out to drive Starr crazy," Langston told James, who accused Langston of going out with him to stick it to Ford.
As Ford sat handcuffed to a desk at the police station, John made it clear that he knew Eli bashed his head in. Cole arrived at the precinct and John told him Hannah may not have pushed Marty down the stairs. When Cole wanted details, John asked Cole to please trust him, adding, "Let us get justice for Hannah and your mom."
Ford admitted that he had been blackmailing Eli because he knew his other identity — Bennett Thompson. Later, Natalie showed up at Rex's door with the reconstructed papers that Eli had shredded. Kelly joined them and they saw an image on Eli on the page.
A blissful Dorian and David tweeted that they were the happiest people in the world. Eli and Blair walked in on their smooch fest to announce they were getting married today. Dorian objected, saying they couldn't because she and David were getting married today. Langston couldn't believe what she was hearing. When David joked that he'd find a new boyfriend for Langston, she asked Dorian to put a muzzle on her beau. Instead, Dorian asked Langston to be her maid of honor. After Langston introduced James, David asked him if he had a job.
To keep the peace between the squabbling men, Dorian said they should just have a double wedding. "I want to show this town exactly who the Cramer women are and who the men they love are," Dorian announced. Eli said a double wedding was fine with him. Blair couldn't believe how lucky she was to have found such a gem of a man.
Starr headed to LaBoulaie to follow up on what she'd just read online about the two weddings. Starr had a big hug for Blair and Dorian before she ran right into James. "What are you doing here? To see me?" Starr asked. James said that he was there to take Langston out on a date. "You can take him to the wedding," David suggested. Starr's unease about the Langston-James situation was obvious as she came up with reasons James shouldn't be there. James showed Starr the bullet that he now wears on a chain close to his heart and said he'd see her at the nuptials.
Thursday
Brody wondered why Jessica was asking a doctor about a paternity test for an unborn baby. Jessica said she was working on a story and did her best to change the subject. As soon as Brody left, Jess called the doctor's office back.
Ford told John he had been blackmailing Eli about his other identity as Bennett Thompson. John wanted to know how Ford knew about the two identities and discovered that Ford had had an affair with Bennett's wife in Los Angeles. The wife's name was Olivia and she was very wealthy, but unhappy in her marriage. Then Olivia disappeared. "It was if she had vanished off the face of the earth," Ford shared — but not before she told Ford that Eli had been after her money. He blackmailed Eli because he'd been desperate for money, confessed Ford. John told Ford that Eli would have been behind bars if Ford had come to the police sooner, then gave Ford a pad of paper and ordered him to write down everything he knew about Eli/Bennett.
Kelly showed John the reconstructed mug shot of Bennett Thompson/Eli Clarke. John wanted to know where Kelly got the photo, and was not happy to learn she'd broken into Eli's room. Kelly wanted Eli arrested before he married her cousin.
At the police station, David hinted to Nora that she should worry about Inez working with "Pa." David rattled off a list of things Inez would say to Nora before making a move on Bo. Sure enough, when Nora met Inez she rattled off all the comments/compliments David had predicted she would. Shortly afterward, David warned Nora again about Inez, "that so-called assistant."
David interrupted Bo and Inez' conversation and was annoyed by the fact that Inez didn't know about Bo's other son — him. David asked for Bo's blessing to marry Dorian, and Bo reluctantly agreed to be his best man. Nora learned that she would be giving a toast at the wedding.
Inez was stunned to see her son Ford at the police station. She wanted to help him but he said no thanks. "They are using me to get information about somebody else," he snapped, then barked at her to get out. Inez called Eli asking to represent her son. With a wicked smile, Eli agreed to take on Ford's case.
Dorian was none too pleased to learn from Starr that James was Ford's brother; Langston was none too pleased that Starr had shared that piece of information. Blair objected to Langston dating James. "He carjacked my daughter," Blair reminded them. "You are only going out with this boy to make his brother jealous," Dorian accused Langston. Langston pointed out that Dorian had been making David jealous for weeks. "It's one date and I'm keeping it," Langston said.
Starr was furious when Cole insisted Hannah was innocent of the crimes she had been accused of, then informed Cole they had two weddings to attend. Cole wondered why Starr wasn't excited about it. They needed to talk about James, said Starr — she was certain the Langston/James date would be kaput now that it was known James was Ford's brother.
Nuzzling Eli in the backyard, Blair marveled that Eli had never been married before.
James ran into Eli in Dorian's living room and a tense conversation ensued. James told Langston, Dorian, Blair, and Eli about what it was like spending those few days with Starr and pleaded for a chance to spend some time with Langston at the wedding and experience what a real family was like. Blair told Langston that going out with James to make Ford jealous would backfire. In a passionate speech, David spoke up for James and Langston going out together, and Dorian caved. But she warned James, "If you hurt my daughter you are a dead man."
John told Bo, Nora and Kelly that Ford could confirm that Eli was Bennett and brought them up to speed about all the things Eli had done. John wanted to get a warrant on Eli ASAP.
Friday
Dorian charged into Viki's living room gushing that she was high on love. Viki was thrilled to learn that David and Dorian were back together. "He proposed," Dorian beamed, adding that they'd be getting married that afternoon with Blair and Eli. And the person they most have to thank for their reconciliation was Viki, admitted Dorian. "Is this really you under all this happiness? It's not like you to apologize," Viki observed, then assured Dorian that she and David would have eventually have gotten back together with or without her and Charlie's assistance. "This is going to be my last wedding," Dorian vowed.
Nate and Dani bonded about having sudden sibs. Blair checked on a miserable Dani, and invited her to her wedding. Dani declined -- she wanted to be there if Todd found Tea. Dani and Blair talked about missing Tea. "You mean a lot to my mom," Dani told Blair. "We were mortal enemies and now we're really close friends," Blair acknowledged. Blair wondered if Dani had a message for Nate, as he'd be at the country club, the site of the nuptials. "Maybe we should go find me a dress," Dani said with a smile.
At the country club, Matthew called Nate "towel boy" and demanded more ice. When Nate asked why Matthew was being "such a bitch," Matthews wore he'd make the rest of the summer as painful as possible for Nate.
John filled Bo and Nora in on the headway they'd made on Eli/Bennett. Another one of Eli's aliases was revealed: Craig Pattison. Apparently Craig had been arrested for murdering his wife, but was released.
Inez told Ford she got him a lawyer. He panicked when he realized his new lawyer was Eli. "No need for you to get involved," Ford said nervously to Eli as he barked, "shut up!" at his mother. Ford forbade his mother from contacting Eli again. Nora entered the room and said she needed Ford's cooperation before they could arrest Eli. Ford said he couldn't sign the statement and retracted everything that he had told Bo. "Did Elijah Clarke threaten you?" Nora asked. A nervous Ford ripped up the statement.
When Bo reported to Inez that Ford would be free to go in an hour, Inez let it slip that she'd spoken to Elijah Clark. Bo's jaw dropped. Nora blamed Inez for ruining a major case by calling Eli.
Eli confronted Kelly about everything she had told Blair about him. "Do you know how deranged you sound?" he asked, and ordered her to back off. When Kelly didn't flinch, Eli wondered if Kelly was crazy like her mother was. John walked in after Eli brought up the fact that Kelly had once killed Blair's unborn child. "Arrest him," Kelly demanded as John produced handcuffs. But John arrested Kelly instead! Eli asked John why Ford had been arrested. John lied that Ford had some information about a drug dealer. "Are you seriously arresting me?" Kelly asked John as they walked away.
Destiny was angry with Shaun for not helping Dani find her mom. David interrupted the group and Destiny immediately guessed that he was marrying Dorian. David invited everyone to the wedding, including Nate, much to Matthew's disgust. When Matthew grabbed David and explained that he was THE Nate, the one who stole Dani, David uninvited Nate. Nate told Matthew that Tea is dying and that Dani doesn't know where she is, which stunned Matthew into silence.
When Eli slipped out of LaBoulaie, John made sure the detective was on his trail. Dani showed up at the club for the wedding, which delighted Destiny and Nate. Meanwhile, Eli entered Blair's bedroom. "There's been a change of plans," he said ominously.
