One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of August 2, 2010

Monday

Téa hugged Dani, her choice for maid of honor, ignoring Todd sniping about how she didn't really have many people to choose. Todd urged them to hurry and dress, as the Justice of the Peace was on his way. Upstairs, mother and daughter picked through clothes and Tea told Danielle all about her turbulent relationship with Todd. Todd eavesdropped on the tour down memory lane. "You married Todd for money?" gasped Dani. And "he married me for his daughter," she added. She noted her and Todd's second wedding had been a fairy tale come true and then spoke about how keeping Dani and Todd apart had been a huge mistake. She urged her daughter to learn from her errors and not to "be like Todd and me." In the hall, Téa caught Todd listening and kissed him. "I don't regret any of it," she whispered. "Well, we have some more time left. I'm sure I'll give you something," he joked. Alone, Téa stared a picture of herself with pre-plastic surgery, Todd (Roger Howarth). Nearby, Todd cuddled with both Dani and Starr. Then, Jack showed up. As Dani asked Todd if she missed his old face, a visibly shaken Téa walked in and told him she's not marrying him, "because you are not Todd Manning!"

Cole called St. Ann's asking to speak to Hannah, and the nun said she was with her lawyer. In Hannah's room, she was facing down a gun-toting Eli. At the police station, John and Kelly waited on a call from Glen, hoping for proof that Eli is Bennett Thompson, but instead they learned Glen died of a heart attack. "Bennett Thompson, a.k.a. Elijah Clarke, killed him!" surmised Kelly, flipping out. John pointed out they had no motive and no evidence. Elsewhere, Jack begged Blair to ditch Eli, insisting his stepfather-to-be is a psycho. Blair wasn't having it ... and then John called, wanting to chat about her fianc, too. "You are still my favorite ex-husband," Blair joked to John, after telling him Eli was in New York. John and Kelly realized this put a crimp in their Eli-killed-Glen theory. Kelly refused to give up and John warned her he'd toss her in a holding cell if she didn't chill out. Cole saw that Starr had left him a voicemail. When he got to Starr, she threw herself into his arms, sobbing, and opened up about Téa dying. Cole comforted her and assured her of his love. At St. Ann's, a frantic Hannah swore to Eli that she'd stick to their agreement. He seemed pretty determined to silence her. "You're going to kill yourself," he hissed, waving a bottle of pills for her to OD on. "Forget it. You want me dead, you'll have to kill me yourself!" Hannah said. Eli one-upped her by threatening Cole. Back at La Boulaie, Blair had enough of Jack's attitude and grounded him ... and he let slip that Todd was marrying Téa and he couldn't miss it. Blair concluded that Jack's issues stemmed from his parents both marrying other people. Later, Kelly warned her against rushing off to Vegas and marrying Eli. Back at the hospital, Eli shook out pills for Hannah, noting she'd end her life and save Cole. He got her to take them, and she zoned out, murmuring Cole's name.

Gigi drove Natalie to the family planning clinic, urging her to take a minute to think things through. "I have to do this!" Nat insisted. "I have to get an abortion." Antsy Gigi wondered if she wouldn't rather have John with her right now. Sure, Nat would love that...except it would involve Nat telling him she's pregnant! She was all tied in knots over the Brody "What ifs," and even had a fantasy about a few months down the road, where John would find the results of a paternity test and it would wreck everyone. Gigi urged Natalie to make certain she could live with having an abortion. Nat kept fantasizing about the big reveal, picturing Jessica and Brody having a huge, blowup, breakup fight. Natalie then pictured her relationship with Jessica being destroyed as well. "And then I'd lose John," she told Gigi, envisioning that scenario next. Then, Nat got a call from John asking to see her. She made excuses and then realized it was time for her appointment.

Tuesday

Dorian and Clint and David and Mandy showed up at Rodis where the "I hate you/I love you banter" continued between David and Dorian. Clint played along and made sure Dorian kept her promise that the stadium she's about to build "will have the Buchanan name on it." Both Clint and Mandy were positive that David and Dorian still loved each other. The fighting continued when the two decided to do shots. Both thought that after two drinks, the other would cave.

Eli made sure that Hannah (who he had just forced to take a bottle of pills) wouldn't be found at St. Anne's. The nurse put a "do not disturb" sign on her door.

Jessica and Brody told John that they were getting married. John wasn't sure where Natalie was but all three agreed she had been acting odd as of late.

Natalie and Gigi waited in the car outside the abortion clinic. Natalie didn't know what to do. She imagined a perfect life with John and their two biological children. (The little girl had red hair!) Moments later, she appeared at John's door. "I have something to tell you," she said seriously.

Kelly tried to convince Blair not to elope with Eli that night. Blair was sure that Kelly was jealous. Kelly lied and said she wanted them to wait because Dorian would want to throw them a big wedding. Finally, Kelly blurted out that to Blair that Eli was dangerous. At that very moment, Eli entered, grabbed Blair's suitcase, ready to go.

An agitated Téa told Starr, Jack, Cole and Dani that she couldn't marry Todd because he wasn't that man in the picture. (Téa held the photograph of Roger Howarth's Todd.) Starr did her best to convince Téa that that was the same Todd. Todd calmly explained the whole story to Téa. Téa apologized for losing it and calmed down. The two wed. "We're going to live for today," Todd said sweetly. After they kissed and everyone applauded, Téa insisted that they sit in a circle and hold hands. At first Jack resisted, but he took Dani's hand. Téa told Starr she always thought of her like a second daughter. Dani told Todd she was happy at that moment and gave her father a hug which delighted Téa.

Cole was worried about Hannah because he had gotten a weird call from her. Starr wasn't thrilled about him leaving the wedding party to check on Hannah. Cole arrived at St. Anne's and at first wasn't allowed access to her room. He left but soon returned with some keys. He opened her door and found her unconscious with the bottle of pills.

Blair convinced Eli to postpone the wedding because they didn't want to have the same anniversary as Todd and Téa. Eli understood. "I'm crazy about you Blair," he said with a smile. The two kissed. Eli brought Blair's suitcase back upstairs. Kelly told a stunned Blair that she believes Eli is a killer.

John shared his suspicions of Eli with Brody. John's Internet searching finally paid off. He got a clue that Bennett Thompson and Elijah Clarke were the same person. He found Eli's law license and then on the next page saw that it had been issued to Bennett Thompson, now deceased.

Wednesday

A serious Natalie entered John's office and they sat down on the couch. "I'm pregnant," she announced. "I think I need a drink," he replied. John wondered why she didn't tell him earlier. "It wasn't the right time because of Brody," she admitted. She clarified that she didn't want to diffuse the excitement about Brody and Jessica's baby. "I wasn't sure how you were going to react," Natalie said seriously. John started to imagine what life would be like as a parent and wasn't so sure he was ready for a baby. Natalie started to cry. However, John thought that having a baby was a sign that "you and I belong together. I know it's scary, but it's a good thing." Natalie wept tears of joy. "I'm getting another chance to have a family...I can't wait to get started," he said as they fell into each others arms. They agreed to keep it a secret for a while.

Dorian downed a shot to Clint, "her true love." David countered by drinking to Mandy. Gigi wondered what was going on with Clint, Mandy, David and Dorian. Rex returned to Rodi's and reported that he had been drugged with a sedative. "No big deal," he said. "You really dodged a bullet," Gigi replied. David asked Rex for some help convincing Dorian that he and Mandy are a couple. Rex asked what was wrong with Natalie. Gigi said she couldn't say anything. She remembered Natalie saying she knows that her baby is John's. Gigi said she has to respect Natalie's confidence. Gigi then remembered Natalie making her promise not to tell anyone about the possibility that Brody was the baby's father. Gigi did tell Rex that Natalie wasn't ill and the secret had nothing to do with Gigi and Rex. Mandy told Clint that she and David were business associates while David and Dorian were face to face near the juke box. Rex thought it was time for the four of them to leave and they did. Gigi closed down Rodi's and she and Rex started to dance.

Eli lurked in the corridor and saw Ford and James enter Ford's new apartment. Eli appeared at the door. Ford explained that he was taking care of his little brother and wasn't talking to Hannah. Eli thought it was curious that he found Hannah at St. Anne's writing down "everything she knew about me. Tell me she didn't get that idea from you," a sinister Eli said. Eli hinted that Hannah was taken care of and threatened Ford and his brother James. "Don't do anything else that you might regret," Eli warned. Ford came back into the apartment and told James to stay away from Eli. James agreed, but wanted to know what was going on. "Let me deal with it," Ford snapped.

Starr and Langston caught up. Starr told Langston about Ta; Langston explained the details about Ford and his mom. Langston asked Starr about James. "I thought you were done with him," Langston said. Starr assured her friend that she was only concerned with James because she shot him. Langston told Starr that she learned Ford had been tested for an STD, but possibly caught something from someone "after me." Langston promised her friend she was staying away from Ford. Starr told Langston that Cole almost slept with Hannah. Starr insisted, however, there was nothing going on between her and James. "I love Cole," Starr said.

Blair asked for the name of Eli's victim. "Victims, there are more than one," Kelly said seriously, noting there were at least three. Kelly thought that Bennett Thompson and Eli were the same person. "Everything you know about this man is a lie," Kelly added. Blair said she was marrying Eli tomorrow. Kelly explained what had happened with Rex in Boston. Blair refused to believe any of Kelly's accusations. Eli entered the living room and the conversation stopped. He headed upstairs. Blair threatened to tell Eli everything.

Cole ran into the hallway at St. Anne's, yelling for help for the unconscious Hannah. The doctor found a weak pulse. Cole called Starr with the update on Hannah. He told her that Hannah overdosed on pills. Cole said he'd be staying at St. Anne's until he found out how Hannah was. Cole confronted the nurse about not watching Hannah. The doctor told Cole that he saved her life.

James left a message for Starr saying that he was out of the hospital and staying with his brother in Llanview. He hoped to see her sometime. Starr began to listen to the message and then turned off her phone. Later, Starr called James back and admitted she was surprised to learn James would be staying in town. James said that Ford was going through some stuff and it's "big." Starr said she was glad he was out of the hospital. He promised to stay out of her way. The two said good-bye to each other and both seemed a little upset.

Thursday

Inez showed up at the police station and ran into Bo. She told him she was going to apply for the assistant to the Commissioner job. She asked him for some insights into the Commissioner, not knowing that Bo was the Commissioner. Bo didn't clue her in. He then sat at his desk and finally informed her that he was the commish. Inez was embarrassed and wanted to leave but Bo began the interview, then offered her the job. Inez was thrilled but asked Bo to pretend they had never met before she came into that office. Inez didn't want Nate to learn he has two older brothers that don't want anything to do with him. Bo told her that one of his sons was killed in the line of duty. He explained that Drew didn't grow up with him but quickly added that they had forged a relationship when Drew was grown.

Cristian and Layla came home, Layla was still very sad about losing Evangeline. She discovered that the man who helped Evangeline with her living will was named Bennett Thompson.

Ford found James playing with the bullet the surgeons had taken out of him. Nate delivered some food to Ford and James's apartment. Nate got defensive when Ford started to trash his/their mother and stormed out. Ford told James to stay away from Nate, which just confused James. "The way you want me to stay away from Starr Manning as well," he said. Ford added that he was the only person who had James's back.

Cole came home and Starr immediately asked about Hannah. Starr was still furious that Cole had almost slept with Hannah. She began to tell Cole what had happened between her and James. They had kissed, she admitted, and Cole blew up a bit. "Two kisses," she said, adding that she had pushed him away. Starr did not react well when Cole asked her if she had enjoyed the kisses. No she said. Starr told Cole that James was staying in Llanview but added that James promised to stay out of her life. "I'm not interested in him," she insisted. Starr and Cole cuddled on the couch.

Dani looked at the photos of Todd and Téa and showed Nate the photos. Dani admitted to Carlotta that she now feels differently about Todd. Cris came into the diner and broke the news about Evangeline's death. Todd interrupted him and began to yell at Cris for "giving up." Dani begged Todd to stop. "Mom doesn't need this right now," she said. Todd had a hard time believing that Evangeline was gone. Dani wanted to know who Evangeline was.

Greg came to visit Todd and Téa. Todd told Greg that Téa didn't remember him for a minute before their wedding. Téa admitted she had forgotten to take a dose of her medication. Greg wanted some private time with Téa, but Todd said no way. Later Téa told Greg how she had been feeling. He told her she was suffering from "cognitive decline." Greg told her it was a matter of weeks before she would die. Téa was stunned and demanded to know what would happen next. He told her she'd have to stop driving; her speech would become compromised. She learned she would probably not recognize people, not even her own daughter. Téa started to cry about her future. "There is nothing I can do," she said. "Actually, there is something else," Greg admitted. Todd and Dani came home and wanted to hear about what Greg told Téa.

Friday

Blair charged into John's office demanding to know if he was investigating Eli. John didn't answer immediately, so she took that as a yes. Blair didn't want to accept that Eli was a serial killer and added that there was no reason that Eli would have killed those people. John couldn't discuss an ongoing investigation. Blair told John to "back off. It's beginning to mess with my life." John suggested that she keep her distance from Eli and "don't let him suspect anything."

Layla entered John's office and told both John and Blair that Evangeline had died. "Her respiratory system failed," Layla explained. John looked stunned. Blair offered her condolences and left. John asked Layla to have a seat. John took a bottle of wine out of his filing cabinet. He told Layla that he and Evangeline were once trapped in a basement and there they downed two bottles of wine. He later found another bottle and held on to it until Evangeline was better. Layla and John drank some of that wine in Evangeline's memory. Layla said they found Evangeline's living will. Layla mentioned Bennett Thompson and John's ears perked up. Layla told him about Evangeline's file. Eli was eavesdropping and then scurried off.

Blair offered Cris her condolences. She gave him a hug. At her feet was a photo of Eli/Bennett that had fallen out of Evangeline's papers. Cris told Blair about Evangeline's living will. Cris told Blair that he and Layla were engaged. Blair showed off her new ring just inches away from a paper with Bennett Thompson's name on it.

Nora ran into Eli at the precinct. She wanted to talk to Bo, but his door was shut and the shades were down. Nora told a stunned Eli that Hannah survived and that Cole had found the teen. Eli feigned relief.

Nate had a food delivery for Bo and ran into his mom in Bo's office. Nate asked if she was under arrest. Bo told Nate that Inez was his new assistant. Nate was delighted. Bo thought Inez should tell Nate the truth about his two big brothers. Inez wasn't so sure. Bo introduced Inez to Nora as his new assistant. Nora thought that Inez was quite a looker. Bo said he did not notice. Nora sat on his lap. Bo said Inez wasn't as beautiful as Nora was and they started to kiss.

Cole showed up at Ford's door to discuss Hannah, not Starr. He told Ford that Hannah had overdosed. Ford remembered Eli saying that "Hannah had been dealt with." Ford didn't think it was a suicide. Cole wanted Ford to tell him all the details about the night Hannah went after him. Ford made up a story about Hannah hitting him with the award. Ford thought Hannah belonged at St. Anne's or in jail.

James arrived at Starr's door. He showed her the bullet that had been in his body. James said that he was crazy about her. "I have a boyfriend," Starr proclaimed. James said he'd go if Starr didn't have any doubts about Cole. Cole entered the apartment when James asked if there was any chance for them to be a couple. Cole put his arm around Starr, then showed him the door and slammed it behind him. "So what was James really doing here?" Cole asked. Starr said that James thought she would be happier with someone else, namely him. "What would you have told him?" Cole asked. Starr seemed to be at a loss for words. Starr said she would have said she has everything she wants with Cole.

James came home to the apartment he shares with Ford. Nate and Inez showed up at their door.

Téa had news for Todd and Dani. "I am a little short on time. I have a few weeks at the most," she said. "Treatment can't help me," she added. Téa talked about going into hospice care. "We're on board," Todd said, suspecting there was a hitch. Téa said she wanted to go now and quickly added she'd be going alone. Todd shook his head. Through tears, Téa said she wanted them to remember her the way she is now. "And what about what we want?" Dani exploded and stormed off. Téa started to cry. Todd offered to go talk to Dani and added that Téa wasn't saying the right things to them. Todd returned and was upset that Téa had shut them both out. Téa begged Todd not to go. "Can't you see this is the best way," she said. Todd headed upstairs and Blair showed up at the door. "What can I do?" Blair asked Téa.

Layla called Cris from the station and asked him to look for a file named Bennett Thompson. "Yeah I got it right here," Cris said. A half second later Eli barged in and knocked him out.
