One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of August 25, 2008

Monday

Suited up in his military duds, "Bo" was escorted by Clint, Gigi and all his loved ones to the bus station. Suddenly, a returning GI who looked just like Brody rushed toward Gigi and stunned her with a kiss. As it turned out, that horny man was Ned Truman, Spencer's father, and he thought Gigi was Emma. Gigi thought fast and explained that she is Emma's twin sister, just as Emma walked in with Renee and Spencer. Although Ned was surprised to hear that Emma even had a sister, he went straight to his lady love and hugged Emma, who was clearly not into him. Olympia became emotional as Chuck and Bo were about to ship out, while Renee told Emma that they'd be better off without Asa in their lives and led her away. The real Asa had a few strong words for Bo about what to expect in Vietnam and chastised him for not finishing the fence before he left. "I expect you to take care of it when you come back," he said, putting a hand on Bo's shoulder. Rex turned to face Gigi, who began to cry at the thought of having to say good-bye to him. He assured her that they would be together when he returns and declared his love for her once again. She didn't know what she was going to do in the meantime but said she would wait for him.

Back in the present, Bo mysteriously told his brother that he came back from the ranch feeling stronger and was able to finally say good-bye to their father. Clint recalled Bo's wild going-away party when he was about to ship out to Vietnam. Nora came in and Bo apologized for leaving her and Matthew in the lurch. Dallas arrived and eventually she and Clint were sharing stories of their time in London. Dallas announced that she plans to stay in Llanview for a little bit longer and is looking for a sublet. Nora was surprisingly quick to grab the business card of a real-estate agent, but when the ladies were talking privately, Nora remarked that Rachel had warned her to watch out for Dallas in case she's interested in getting back together with Clint. Nora laughed it off as though it was a crazy remark but Dallas mysteriously said, "Your daughter sounds like a smart woman," then walked out.

Todd threatened to call The Banner when Tess followed him home from Starr's doctor's office. Upstairs, Janet was insisting that Marty put some makeup on to "boost her morale," but was interrupted when Marty heard some commotion downstairs. John and some cops arrived with a search warrant and explained that they're going to find Todd's mystery woman. Todd acted like he didn't know what they were talking about. When John was about to go upstairs, Tess suddenly faked labor pains. Todd ran to her side and told the guard to get some water and towels from upstairs (wink, wink) while John called an ambulance. After dramatically screaming, "Oh, God, don't take my baby!" Jessica suddenly felt better and insisted that she doesn't need an ambulance. Meanwhile, the bodyguard informed Marty that they need to get her out of the house.

From Rodi's, Brody called a lab to make an appointment for a paternity test. When Brody took Shane to the hospital, Shane thought they were there for an asthma checkup, but Brody explained that he wants everyone to see proof of Shane's paternity and Brody can legally be a guardian to Shane.

In Mendorra, Cristian, Antonio and Sarah managed to get lost in the tiny country. Sarah insisted on consulting the map while Cristian perused Tina's big book of Mendorran secrets. She read a local tabloid article aloud about how Talia hasn't made any public appearances since her coronation and Antonio hoped nothing bad had happened to her.

At Todd's, John wanted to see a locked room upstairs and broke the door down when Todd refused to let him in. Todd's "housekeeper" Janet was reading on the bed and pretended to be irked that he burst into her room. When John asked if anyone else is staying in the house besides Todd, Janet hesitated a beat before answering, "No." Meanwhile, Jessica insisted to a paramedic that she's fine and was just being a hypochondriac. While everyone was upstairs, she snuck out of the house and crept around the grounds, then came upon an outdoor shed. She opened the door and was shocked to find Marty inside.

At the bus station, Rex and Gigi said their final good-byes and she anxiously watched him walk to the bus. Just as Brody was handing over Rex and Shane's toothbrushes to the doctor, Gigi stopped Rex from getting on the bus and told him to fight to come home for Shane because he's his son.

Tuesday

Rex asked Gigi to repeat what she'd just said and couldn't believe that Shane is his son. The MPs tried to drag him away, but Gigi swore that she wasn't lying and admitted that she should have told him a long time ago. She grabbed his hand and sparks started to fly out of nowhere as the two disappeared. Delbert Fina picked up Bo's "Buchanan" nametag and a younger version of Bo (played by Robert S. Woods's son, Tanner) entered and told the MPs he's ready to board the bus. Rex and Gigi, meanwhile, found themselves in 2008 at the same bus station. Rex remarked that he had the strangest dream that they were in the past and Gigi told him that Shane is his son. Gigi explained that it wasn't a dream, that Shane really is his son, but neither of them could remember details of their time in 1968. Rex admitted that he's happy Shane is his son but wondered why Gigi had kept it from him so long, suggesting that she didn't think he was good enough to be a father. Gigi explained that it had nothing to do with that and at the time, she never thought she'd see him again. She recalled coming close to telling him several times recently but all these things kept getting in the way, like Brody coming "back from the dead." Rex pointed out that there were many other days when she could have told him. "How about because I didn't know if you loved me. How about that?" she asked. "Do you still love me?" she asked. "Of course. Morasco, it was always you," he told her and all seemed to be well.

Sarah, Cristian and Antonio arrived at the palace just as Jonas was giving Talia a hard time about not consummating their marriage. She claimed he'd have to kill her before she sleeps with him. When he grabbed her, she whipped out some of her police training and tossed him onto the ground. He angrily got up and told the guards to keep a close eye on her. Meanwhile, Bitterman informed Carlo that Talia has been "putting off" Jonas every night and that everyone at the palace is talking about them sleeping in separate beds. Antonio snuck into Talia's room, while Sarah and Cristian managed to subdue two servants and nab their uniforms. Talia and Antonio enjoyed a brief reunion in her room while Jonas griped to Carlo about his daughter's behavior. Carlo suggested that Jonas just hadn't found the right aphrodisiac and went to Talia's door with two brandy snifters (full of what? Roofies?). As he hinted that Llanview is closer than she thinks, the door suddenly slammed shut and Carlo turned around to face Antonio. While Bitterman went to get Jonas some cake, Sarah and Cristian snuck up on him and knocked him out, just as Talia threw a vase at Carlo and he fell to the ground.

Tess recognized Marty right away and was amused when Marty asked if she's Blair. Meanwhile, Todd looked for Tess and asked his new guard if she saw him carry out Marty. John returned and assured Todd that they'll find the woman he's hiding eventually. Tess approached Marty and pretended to gleefully reunite with Jessica's old "best friend" Marty. She couldn't believe her ears when Marty explained that Todd had been taking such great care of her. Todd came in and stopped Tess from doing any damage to his progress with Marty. "Somebody could tell her anything," Tess winked at Todd, catching on that he'd told more than a few lies about John to the amnesiac. As Todd followed her out, Tess marveled at what a "sick bastard" he is. The two struck a reluctant deal: He doesn't blab that she's Tess if she keeps quiet about Marty.

Blair arrived at John's empty office and started to write him a dirty note when he walked in looking pretty dejected. John explained that they didn't find anything or anyone in Todd's house and the judge insisted they back off. Blair agreed to give up her obsession with Todd and her mystery guest if he does, so he dumped the file on Todd in the garbage. As he was standing up, he noticed the note Blair had written and tossed in the trash, then read it to her great embarrassment. Although he couldn't sully Bo's office in the way that she suggested, he hinted that his brother's working the late shift so they'll have the apartment all to themselves.

Wednesday

While Talia and Antonio made up for lost time in the bedroom, Cristian and Sarah successfully dosed Carlo and Jonas with sedatives. They planted Jonas in Talia's bed before letting Bitterman in. Talia pretended to have just spent the night making love to a zonked-out Jonas, hinting to Bitterman that they might have even produced an heir. She declared that she'd like to host a press conference, lying that Jonas was off hunting for wild boars with her father.

Bo visited Lindsay in jail and assured her that he wasn't there to berate her for keeping the truth from him. He explained that he'd recently revisited his roots and settled some things, like his father's death, that he should have settled a long time ago. He admitted to being so hurt by what she did that he had to turn his back on the people he loves, but he's since learned a few things about himself. She was about to say something hopeful about their future, but he stopped her and just wished her good luck. They touched hands through the wire screen and he left her in silence.

Back at the ranch, Gigi explained once again why she kept the secret of Shane's paternity from Rex for so long. Gigi noted that he'd also have to tell Adriana about him and Gigi, which Rex seemed amenable to but somewhat nervous about. Rex wanted to tell Shane immediately about being his father, but Gigi suggested they hold off for a little bit since Shane had just found the dad he thought had died. Gigi phoned Shane to let him know she'd be coming home soon and asked Brody why he lied to Rex about sleeping Gigi. Brody claimed it was all about protecting Shane, but did admit that he was fighting to have something with Gigi, too. Meanwhile, Shane presented Brody with a special scrapbook of moments that Brody had missed in his life. Shane pointed out that he and Brody may not look much alike, but that doesn't matter to him. After he and Brody went through the book, Shane pointed out that he doesn't know much about his dad. Brody claimed his life before Shane wasn't all that interesting and that there wasn't much to say about his time in Iraq. Later, Brody received the test results, showing a positive DNA match. "You're my son now," Brody told Shane. "No one could ever take you away from me."

Todd came banging on the door of Llanfair looking for Jessica, while Tina was annoyed that he had nothing to say to his sister. Tina complained to Todd that Jessica has been a real witch to her since she moved to Llanfair, although Natalie has been a peach. Tina noted that Jessica's not the same, sweet girl she remembers and recalled Jessica snapping at her when the dog tried to go in the basement, which gave Todd pause. Once Todd was gone, Tina checked on her precious jewels. Meanwhile, "Jessica" paid a visit to John to try to smooth things over regarding his suspicions about Todd. Tess was clearly laying the groundwork for her plan, lying to John that she's so concerned about Natalie doing something rash since she blames herself for Nash's death. When Tess started to look at the file on Todd, John told her there's nothing to see in there and sent her on her way.

In Mendorra, Talia graciously invited the press to the palace, but it was clear during the conference that her enthusiasm was insincere. A news broadcast of the press tour just happened to playing on Tina's TV, so she sat down and watched the events unfold over a pint of ice cream. Todd finally found Tess and advised her to be a little nicer to Tina or she'll give herself away. Todd couldn't believe that Tess went to John, but she insisted that her visit only helped to quash his suspicions, assuring Todd that the "case of the mysterious woman is officially closed." But it clearly wasn't, as John made a call pressing someone to finish a 3D reconstruction of the image from the X-rays. "Good morning, Commissioner!" Bo suddenly called from the door, and John smiled. Todd, meanwhile, asked Tess what she's hiding in the basement.

Talia escorted the reporters to the royal bedchamber, noting that's where an heir might have been conceived the night before! She walked right in and pretended to be shocked as they started snapping photos of Carlo and Jonas in each other's arms. "Oh, my!" Tina squealed while watching the broadcast.

Thursday

Langston was sunning herself by the pool when Markko splashed a glass of cold water on her. While Langston listened to him gripe about his job at the country club, Delphina arrived wearing a crazy outfit. Markko was p.o.'d when Langston casually handed over $100 for a psychic reading. Delphina revealed Markko's dirty little secret: His real name is Geraldo Rivera! Markko was terribly embarrassed but explained that he changed his name to Markko after a racecar driver. Delphina got a vibe and told Langston that she's seeing a dark-haired woman with a gorgeous smile (Langston's mom). She began to sing the Colombian national anthem and indicated that Langston's mother left behind a sibling. Langston claimed that her mom was an only child, but Delphina suggested that may not be true.

Rex and Gigi stopped by the Bon-Jour Caf&eactue; before flying back to Llanview, and Rex remembered that some whacky version of the café was in his "dream." Moe was dismissive of their newfound relationship, pointing out that Rex is still married, while Noelle was happy that they'd found true love. Rex assured Moe and Noelle that he's committed to Gigi and is separated from his wife. Gigi noticed the ring on Noelle's left hand and was surprised that Moe had made such a romantic gesture. Moe was surprised that she accepted his proposal, explaining that Delphina had predicted Noelle would say no. After catching them up on the Shane/Brody situation, Gigi and Rex bid their Texas friends farewell.

John welcomed Bo back to the station and said he was just keeping Bo's seat warm while he was gone. The mayor walked in and wasn't pleased to see Bo back at work. John threatened to hold a press conference revealing that Lowell looked the other way during all of former commissioner Ramsey's shady dealings, so Lowell agreed to reinstate Bo.

Natalie and Jared accompanied Charlie to the diner to discuss reconstruction plans with Carlotta. Charlie offered to come up with an estimate while she's waiting for her insurance settlement. While Carlotta and Charlie were in the kitchen, Jared admitted to Natalie that he's weighing an offer from Clint to investigate Langston. Natalie wasn't too pleased to hear that Jared was considering doing her father's dirty work, especially when it involves a 16-year-old girl. She demanded that he call Clint and tell him the deal is off. Meanwhile, Carlotta told Charlie she wants to do something new and different with the place.

In Mendorra, Talia was every bit the drama queen as the press snapped photos of Carlo and Jonas in bed. Tina was utterly delighted, remarking that Mendorra is one "nutty principality." Jonas insisted that he's not gay and Carlo suggested that they were drugged, while Talia sobbed on Bitterman's shoulder. "Why are the cute ones always gay?" Tina sighed.

Todd demanded that Tess show her what's in the Llanfair basement, but she threatened to spill his secret to John if he keeps poking his nose in her business. When Tess got really nasty, Todd suddenly grabbed her and shook her, demanding that Jessica come out. Tess was suddenly silent and began panting, and it seemed that Jessica had returned for a moment — until Tess started to laugh in his face. Todd began shaking her again, just as Natalie and Jared ran out. Tess explained that Todd was just comforting her because she was "upset." Natalie and Jared fell for her act and went back inside, where Tina had just finished watching the newscast.

After the press conference, Talia gave Carlo a piece of her mind, while Jonas looked on. Carlo wanted Talia, Antonio, Cristian and Sarah thrown in jail, but the guards came and hauled Carlo and Jonas off.

Friday

Blair informed Dorian that she had to appear at a permanency hearing to determine whether Sam would stay in her care or be returned to Todd. "He destroys everything he touches," Dorian glowered, just as Todd was bringing in lunch to his house guest, Marty. While Blair was out, Dorian told Sam that Blair loves him just the way she loves Langston. At the court house, Blair's lawyer explained that the judge would have to determine what is in Sam's best interest, and Blair remarked that it's in no one's best interest to live with Todd Manning. Meanwhile, Todd admitted to Marty that it meant so much to him to be able to take care of her, and she copped to trusting him perhaps more than she should.

John explained to Bo that he's sure Jessica faked labor pains to distract him from finding Todd's mystery woman. Bo wondered how Todd manages to get all these women wrapped around his finger (he doesn't know the half of it!). Bo was clearly torn when John vowed to bring Jessica down, too, if she's helping Todd with whatever sinister thing he's got going. After Bo left, John received a package marked "Ramsey Murder" with evidence from Ramsey's penthouse. He swiped a surveillance tape before handing the box off to someone for the evidence room.

Tina found Jessica yelling at Leo, the contractor Tess hired to build the secret room, and asked if she needed assistance.
When Natalie demanded that Jared tell Clint he won't be working for him, Jared said he couldn't do that because he has to board a flight to Bogota that day. Natalie was furious that Jared had been planning to go all along. When they heard Natalie and Jared yelling in the next room, Tess insisted she and Tina go check it out. Tess did her best to play mediator, advising Jared to go on the trip to help the family. Tina interrupted and expressed her concern that the "electrician" was in the basement with the door locked again. Clearly annoyed, Tess lied that the electrician was just rewiring a breaker box and she didn't want Bree to wander down there. Natalie, meanwhile, wouldn't even kiss Jared good-bye when he left for the airport.

Langston sat down with Dorian and wondered if it's possible that she does have some other family out there. Dorian didn't understand what Langston was getting at, so Langston admitted that she'd been consulting with Delphina, who got a vibe that there is someone related to Langston's mom and they might still be alive. Dorian assured Langston that no matter what Delphina said, she has family right in front of her and Dorian would always be there for her. Meanwhile, Natalie rushed to the airport to tell Jared that she loves him. Jared explained that he's certain Dorian is the one who made his father fall off the wagon, so for that reason alone, he feels okay about going after Langston to get to Dorian. Natalie asked him to please think anything through that might hurt Langston, who just happened to be Googling the name "Montez" (her mother's maiden name) at home.

Todd showed up late for his hearing and was difficult with the judge, while Blair's attorney made a convincing case for Sam's current situation. The judge asked why Todd hasn't attended a single anger management class that was mandated by the court, but the lawyer explained that Todd had been busy moving. Blair was clearly pleased with the way things were going. The judge deemed Todd not ready to handle a child right now and that after a year, if he's attended all his required classes, he can appeal the judge's decision. As court let out, Blair came face-to-face with Todd and advised him to get his act together. After they traded a few insults, he returned home and told Marty a major lie: Starr has asked him to take care of her child. Marty was very surprised but thrilled to hear Todd's bit of good news.

After Tess dismissed Leo, he walked over to the safe and started checking it out. Tina burst in and yelled, "Not the safe!" Tess followed Tina out and asked why she doesn't want anyone going near the safe. Tina spun some story about being concerned about safety, then sighed to herself, "My jewels are safe" when Tess went back into the living room. Bo arrived and walked in on Jessica and Leo as she was telling him something he'd installed under an end table was too visible.
