One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of August 27, 2007 Recaps

Monday

At Nash's cottage, he and Roxy finished a bottle of wine and Roxy assured
him that everything would be fine despite his big loss. Nash explained that
he was hoping to possess the vineyard outright and would find a way to do
it. Roxy suggested he bet on a racehorse, but he didn't have the cash to
place a bet and wasn't too interested in gambling anyway. Nash vowed to come
up with a new plan before Jessica comes home. Speak of the devil, Jess
called and told him she was enjoying time time with her family and baby
Zane, but that she missed her hubby. She asked what was going on at home,
and Roxy blew up his spot by yelling at him to tell her the truth. Nash
admitted that he'd gotten drunk and was working on a plan to buy back his
shares of the vineyard, but didn't reveal the whole truth. Roxy asked Nash
why he lied, but he vowed he'd make the vineyard 100 percent theirs, while
Jess changed her plane reservation.

Antonio was shocked to see Talia wearing a curious getup at Rodi's. Talia
asked Antonio who he was meeting, just as Jared ran into Miles and Natalie
at a nearby table. Nat told him to get lost and explained to Miles that
Jared was the guy who tried to bully his way into BE. Natalie asked Miles to
get back to what they were talking about: Spencer. He held up a key and
explained that it came with his last letter from Spencer and could lead them
to the truth about Todd Manning, Jr. Miles admitted that the letter he
turned over to the police wasn't the whole thing and that Spencer had also
written that the answer to TJ's fate was in the locker of a bus station.
Miles declared that Todd deserved to know the truth about his son.

Antonio met Jared at the bar and asked how he knew about the investment.
Jared lied that he'd spoken with Nash, who informed him that Antonio wanted
to sell. Antonio asked Jared why he was so anxious to buy him out. Jared
explained that he was a business man and was interested in making an
investment fast. Antonio was wary, but agreed to consider his offer. Jared
spied a pic of Jessica in Antonio's wallet and mentioned that he'd seen that
woman before ... in Nash's wallet. Talia intervened and, once Jared was out
of sight, suggested that Antonio was stalling on selling his shares because
he wasn't ready to completely cut Jessica loose. Talia noted that it would
be a good step to starting over and confided that she knew what that was
like, prompting Antonio to accept Jared's deal.

At the Woman of the Year Awards, Marcie wanted to know why the heck John was
interrupting the ceremony. Lindsay goaded him into doing what he came there
to do, so he arrested her for Spencer's murder. Marcie defended Lindsay as
her friend stood quietly by. Todd leaned over to Blair and Dorian and
gloated that he knew something juicy would happen. Marcie argued that
Lindsay hardly knew Spencer and had no reason to kill him. "Yes, she did,"
John declared. Meanwhile, Adriana and Rex wondered if this was a case of
Lindsay protecting Marcie and Tommy, and Blair and Todd came up with a
killer headline for The Sun. Before Lindsay was led away in cuffs,
Marcie pleaded with Lindsay to tell the cops that she had nothing to do with
Spencer's murder, but Lindsay told her not to worry. Nora glared at Bo after
he told John to get a signed confession.

Dorian asked Rex if he knew anything about Lindsay killing Spencer. Rex
pretended to not know a thing, then theorized with Adriana that she knew
about Tommy, too. Michael's hands were tied as an upset Marcie fled to
follow Lindsay at the PD. Meanwhile, Dorian fantasized about being named
Woman of the Year and stood up to make an acceptance speech, just as Blair
interrupted and informed her that it was time to go. As the only ones left
at the awards, Blair and Todd decided not to let the champagne go to waste.

At the bus station, Miles was floored by a file he found in the locker, then
returned to Rodi's to share the news with Natalie: Todd's son was adopted
and is alive and well in Llanview. Natalie didn't believe it, but said if it
is true, Miles could use this opportunity to win respect. Miles ran off
without a word, leaving Natalie worried. Jared asked Natalie if she'd
reconsider hiring him at BE. When she told him there was no chance, he
promised to change her mind.

At the PD, Nora and Bo debated Lindsay's motive, while John escorted the
suspect into his office and informed her that he knew why she killed Truman:
She found out that Tommy was Todd's son and wanted to make sure that secret
stayed buried. John asked Lindsay how long she'd known. She turned to face
him. Blair and Todd were about to make a toast when Miles burst in, claiming
to have incredibly important information about Todd's son.

Tuesday

At Capricorn, Sarah informed Cristian that she may not be in the red for
long, that is, if he hires her as a (gulp!) server. She admitted that her
father offered to put her back on the family bankroll, but she chose to make
money for herself. He handed her a tray and gave her some pointers on the
biz, including a tutorial in Capricorn’s most popular drink, the
cosmopolitan. She mixed up some bourbon, watermelon liqueur (for color) and
bitters, then tasted it and gagged. Hello!? A basic cosmo is made with
vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice and lime, he told her, then quite
expertly demonstrated.

Starr and Cole reviewed their fall schedules and tried to figure out how
they could take some of the same classes since he’ll be a junior and she’ll
be a sophomore. They ended up kissing, but Cole broke from their kiss, he
noted that it felt weird to actually be happy, considering his mom was about
to be released from jail. Dorian nearly walked in on another make-out
session and told the teens all the dishy details from the Woman of the Year
Awards. Even though Marty wasn’t yet cleared of the charges, Cole ran off to
the PD to see his mom. Dorian remarked that he’s not such a bad kid after
all. Starr noted that her parents hadn’t come home yet even though the
awards ceremony was over. She asked Dorian if her parents were getting
along. As long as they’re ganging up on someone, they’re getting along just
fine, she suggested.

Meanwhile, Miles told a disbelieving Todd that he knows where his son is.
Miles tried to convince him that what he had to say was no joke, but Todd
wasn’t buying it and grabbed a knife from a nearby table. Blair insisted
that Todd leave with him, but Miles stopped them and declared that TJ is
alive and well in Llanview, prompting Todd to send Miles flying into a
table. Insisting that his son is dead, Todd continued to pummel Miles.

At the PD, Marcie refused to leave until Lindsay was released. Marcie was
convinced that this had more to do with John’s crush on Marty than a case
against Lindsay, but Nora assured her that John operates on a strictly
professional level. Marcie reminded her that John did pursue a suspect after
the Spencer case was closed.

In John’s office, John pressed Lindsay to tell him how long she’s known that
Tommy is Todd’s son. “You don’t want that coming out any more than I do,”
she said. John reminded Lindsay that a woman was wrongly being held in a
cell while Spencer’s real killer had been roaming free, but Lindsay
continued to talk in circles. John demanded a timeline of when Lindsay found
out, but she refused to talk and simply asked that he leave his theory about
her motive out of it. If the truth comes out, it will destroy his brother’s
family, she warned him.

Meanwhile, Rex disagreed with Bo over Lindsay’s arrest and tried to change
his mind, but Bo pointed out his inkling that Rex knows something related to
the homicide and confessed that he’d been looking the other way. Now that
Marty may not be the killer, Bo advised Rex to come clean about what he’s
been hiding. Rex claimed there was nothing left to tell and asked Bo what
motive Lindsay could possibly have. Bo told Rex to stay out of the case and
not do anything stupid. Outside, Michael assured Marcie that Lindsay would
want them to return home to their son. He held her and appeared close to
tears as he caught Rex’s eye across the PD.

Nora visited Marty and informed her that they had a suspect in custody.
Marty didn’t seem surprised to hear that Lindsay had been arrested. Nora
promised to move her release papers fast. Cole arrived and asked Marty what
happened. She said all that mattered was that she was about to be freed.
Todd nearly choked Miles to death and instructed him not to mention his dead
son ever again or Todd will kill him. “That’s a risk I’m going to have to
take,” Miles said to himself after Todd and Blair left. John handed Lindsay
a legal pad and told her to make this right. She refused to give a written
confession and declared that her conscience was clear. Before being escorted
to a cell, she pointed out to John that she and him are really not that
different and that they’d both do anything to protect the people they love.

Wednesday

Natalie ran into Miles at the gym and pointed out that he was there awfully
early. She started pumping away on some 5-pounders and asked Miles if he'd
seen her mom lately, then guessed that she was probably with Todd. Miles
took a break from his bench-pressing to reveal the nice shiner Todd gave him
and explained that clearly, Todd wasn't willing to listen. Perhaps he should
approach Blair, Natalie suggested, since she's not as hotheaded and might be
able to convince him of the truth.

At La Boulaie, Dorian revealed to Blair that she'd "retrieved" the silver
bowl, the Woman of the Year Award, from the Palace. It should have been hers
in the first place, Dorian declared. Blair advised her to give it back right
away and told her what happened between Miles and Todd. Dorian suggested
that Miles wouldn't just create more trouble for himself by lying to Todd,
so maybe he was telling the truth. Moments later, Blair was shocked to see
Miles at their door. Natalie came barging in and insisted that Dorian leave
the room. Dorian agreed, but threatened to call security if she heard any
trouble. Natalie advised Blair that Miles's claim isn't baloney and left
them alone so Miles could explain.

At the PD, Nora griped to John that he didn't notify her office before
arresting Lindsay. John flashed some evidence (a bloody dress) that could
implicate Lindsay but remarked that his suspect was still staying quiet.
"What sane person would hang onto evidence that could connect her to a
murder?" Nora wondered aloud. "And how does John know Rex didn't do it?" she
asked. John reminded her that the dress and Marty's statement were pretty
good indicators that Lindsay did the deed. Thinking back to what Lindsay
said about protecting Marcie, Michael and Tommy, John suggested that Lindsay
was trying to keep some information hidden, but he didn't mention to Nora
what that could be. The lab report from Lindsay's dress came back and proved
that the blood on the dress was Truman's. The "splattered pattern" indicates
that Lindsay was close to the body, John pointed out.

Lindsay was brought up from her cell to see Bo, who offered Lindsay some
doughnuts. She asked why he was playing the good cop, and he explained it
was because he saw absolutely no reason why she would kill Truman. She
refused to talk without her lawyer. Bo recalled Lindsay saying a few months
ago at the gallery that she had something to tell him, but she never did. Bo
wanted to know what the extenuating circumstances were if she did kill
Spencer and made it clear that he really wanted to help. "It's not a stretch
to believe that I could have done this," she admitted. "Are you saying that
you did?" he asked. Again, she wouldn't say either way, but thanked Bo for
seeing the good inside of her.

Clint dropped by the cottage and asked Nash if he was having money trouble.
He threatened to call Jess if he didn't cop to what was going on. Nash
admitted that he needed the dough to buy out Antonio, who wanted to sell his
shares of the vineyard ASAP, but didn't want to take it from Jess. Clint
offered to give Nash a loan and opened up his checkbook, making Nash
verbally promise to pay him back with interest. He agreed, but asked Clint
not to tell Jessica.

Antonio and Jamie got down to some early a.m. loft painting when they
received a visit from Talia. Jamie asked Talia if she'd like to help paint a
dinosaur on Jamie's toy box. As they worked together, Jamie asked Talia if
she was going to be her dad's new girlfriend. Antonio explained to Jamie
that a) Talia is his co-worker and b) already has a boyfriend, who Antonio
hopes to meet someday. He apologized to Talia, but she told him not to worry
and that she thought what Jamie said was sweet. Talia borrowed a shirt from
Antonio and helped him paint the apartment. Their good times were
interrupted by an unexpected visit from Nash. Jamie went off to show Talia
her book on dinosaurs, while Nash gleefully informed Antonio that he had the
money to buy Antonio's shares. Too late, Antonio informed him.

Lindsay was escorted back to her cell after an awkward run-in with Nora and
John on their way to Bo's office. John informed Bo that the lab confirmed
the blood was Truman's. Nora added that she was dropping the charges against
Marty and was proceeding with the case against Lindsay. Meanwhile, Miles
blindsided Blair with the news that Todd's son is alive and with Michael and
Marcie, living as Tommy McBain.

Thursday

Antonio broke it to Nash that he'd already sold his shares off and had given
Nash plenty of time to get some dough together. At Capricorn, Natalie was
surprised to see Sarah waiting tables but understood why. Nat revealed that
she was there to meet a potential client, and wasn't thrilled to see that it
was Jared — up to his trickery once again. Michael paid John a visit
and asked if he was about to lose his son. Todd approached Lindsay's cell
and told her he wanted to print an exclusive on her in The Sun. Blair was
sickened by Miles's claim that Todd's son is Tommy McBain ... until he
offered her proof.

Todd tried to come up with Lindsay's motive for killing Spencer, including a
colorful idea that Spencer had uncovered naked photos of her and the
Llanview U. men's basketball team. She didn't think it was very funny. Todd
warned her to expect similar offers from other newspaper hounds. Thankfully,
Marcie's arrival sent Todd packing. Marcie promised to help her friend get
out of jail soon, but Lindsay started to tear up, saying she may never get
out. Marcie didn't understand why Lindsay was being so defeatist and
reminded her that people like Tommy need her. "Everything I've done, I've
done to protect him!" Lindsay cried. Marcie offered to bring Tommy to visit
Lindsay, but Linds didn't want to see Tommy in such a vile place. "You did
not kill Spencer Truman, right?" Marcie asked a teary-eyed Lindsay. Lindsay
instructed Marcie to just leave and forget about her. Marcie ran off, saying
she knew how to help Lindsay.

Michael guessed that Lindsay killed Spencer in an attempt to protect Marcie
and Tommy. John agreed that his suspicion made sense. Michael reminded his
brother of what's at stake if John reveals that Tommy is Todd's son. John
surprised Michael by admitting that he cared too much about his family to
destroy them and would keep Michael's secret. Even though it might not be
the best thing for Todd, John said he was set on protecting his own family.
Michael could barely believe it but was eternally grateful — embracing
his brother with a big hug.

Miles explained that he got the folder from the bus-station locker and asked
her to read its contents. Blair read the letter from Spencer saying that
Todd is pure evil and tried to take away everything that Spencer cherished.
For dramatic flourish, ghost Spencer happened to be sitting in the corner to
provide the voiceover. The letter revealed everything that had happened to
Todd's son: Spencer gave him to a lawyer who sells children to "unremarkable
parents with unremarkable homes," the adoptive parents perished in the
tornado and Marcie and Michael found the tot. Spencer proceeded to creep
around Blair and smell her hair as she read the letter. Miles told Blair
that if she believes what Spencer wrote, it's up to her to tell Todd. "God
help you when Todd finds out," Blair whispered after Miles left.

Talia overheard Nash and Antonio arguing and came out to remind them that
there's an impressionable little girl in the next room. Nash informed
Antonio that he wasn't going to let his dream go up in smoke, and he would
buy back the shares from the guy Antonio sold them to. Nash found it a
little strange that the buyer, Jared Banks, happened to be the same guy who
took Nash's money in the poker game. Antonio didn't think much of it and
only cared about being rid of ties to the vineyard. After Nash left, Talia
and Antonio raised their brushes to a "clean start."

Jared presented Natalie with a SWOT analysis for BE and asked her to
reconsider his offer. He'd clearly done his homework, because he pointed out
that she's not just a princess who had everything handed to her and could
probably relate. He asked if his flattery was working, but Natalie was
unimpressed. Miles interrupted just at the right time and escorted Nat away
from Jared's table. Natalie was pleased to hear that Miles had gotten
through to Blair. "Doing the right thing feels right," Miles beamed,
prompting Natalie to go off and do her own good deed for the day.

Starr and Jack surprised Todd at work. Jack went straight to Dad's computer
and printed out a cartoon of Todd with three children, including his "baby
brother." Todd assured Jack that he'd done everything he could to find his
son, but that he was pretty sure now that they were never going to find him
— it might be time to say good-bye. They placed the picture on the
wall and held an impromptu memorial service for the tot. The children paid
their respects, and they all raised bottles of water to the presumed-dead
child, just as Blair arrived.

Sarah ran into Miles at Capricorn and blamed him for putting her in danger
with Hunter. He didn't even know who she was, but when he put two and two
together, he asked what a Buchanan was doing working at Capricorn. Across
the room, Nash approached Jared about scamming him the other night. Natalie
interrupted Michael and John's bro time, and Mike thanked John for his help
before taking off to spend time with his family. Natalie informed John that
Miles discovered that Todd's son was in Llanview. Meanwhile, Blair told Todd
to have a seat for what she was about to say.

Friday

Jessica returned home early from her trip and cooked up a surprise for Nash.
Meanwhile, Nash was discussing vineyard business with Jared, who tried to
make Nash understand that it wasn't just his money Jared won that night.
Nash suggested that this "business" arrangement was personal. Jared asked
Nash how he came up with the name for the wine Esprit Libre. Nash agreed to
tell him only if Jared would sell back the shares. Jared still wouldn't
bite, so Nash tried to sell him on the point that a winery is kind of a
money pit. "You have something I want," Jared stated.

Cole and Marty were overjoyed to hear that Marty's release was in the works.
Marty wondered if Lindsay was trying to protect Blair when she killed
Spencer. The paperwork was approved, and the guard allowed Cole to do the
honors and unlock Marty's cell. They ran off to get some fresh air.

Adriana and Rex went over to Michael's and worried that John had blabbed to
Marcie about Tommy. Michael seemed strangely calm and informed Rex and
Adriana that John agrees to keep his mouth shut. Rex was wary of John's
ability to bend the rules and stay quiet, but Michael was confident that
John would keep his promise.

Meanwhile, Natalie told John that Blair and Miles know about Tommy and that
Blair is probably on her way to tell Todd. John became visibly upset about
this turn of events, even though Natalie thought she was doing the right
thing since this is "police business." "This kid is about to have his life
turned upside down," John lamented. Natalie argued that this is wonderful
news, but John feared that Todd ripping Tommy away from the only parents
he's ever known could harm the child. Natalie started to see John's side of
it when John received a visit from Marty and Cole. John ducked out to call
Blair, while Marty jabbered on about the fun things she and Cole were going
to do now that she's free. Before taking off, Natalie pointed out to Marty
that Miles was remorseful for what he did. Cole and Marty left John a silly
note and gleefully headed home.

Blair was about to tell Todd about his son when Marcie (with Tommy in tow)
rushed in to The Sun offices claiming she needed Todd's help. Todd barked
that his secretary was fired for failing to prevent Marcie from barging in.
Marcie said she was there to pitch a cover story: "Shady Cop Railroads Woman
of the Year." Todd's ears perked up. Blair played with Tommy while Marcie
continued her pitch. Todd agreed to run the story for something in return.
While Todd was off stopping the presses, Blair listened to Marcie talk all
about how Tommy has changed her life for the better. Marcie admitted that on
top of all the natural fears about parenting, adoptive parents have a fear
that they'll lose their child. Blair remarked that Marcie is a good mother
and asked if she'd have any more children. Marcie confided that conceiving
wasn't a possibility for her. "We have Tommy.... He's all we need," Marcie
told Blair. Todd returned with the newspaper mock-up and was grossed out
when Marcie gave him a kiss on the cheek as a thank you. He then told Marcie
to get the kid out of there 'cause it's not a nursery. With Marcie gone,
Todd told Blair that he is all ears.

Nora was surprised to see Sarah at Capricorn. Sarah admitted that she was
still a little rusty but was committed to making the new job work so she
wouldn't have to turn to the Buchanans for money again. Nora shared that she
waited tables during college and hated the cash tips because they always
smelled like beer and food. Sarah asked Nora if Asa ever spoke of her, and
Nora shared the surprising revelation that Asa knew all words to "Flash of
Light" and even bought a karaoke machine to practice singing it. (First
"Chantilly Lace," now Midnight Logic?)

Nash returned home to find his wife sleeping on the couch and a meal waiting
on the table. She said London was great, but she missed her husband. She
asked what was going on with the vineyard and if it was finally theirs.

Marcie arrived home and sensed right away that Adriana and Rex are up to
something, but Rex said they were just talking about Lindsay's situation.
Marcie assured them that she had things under control and showed them the
mock-up. Meanwhile, Todd asked Blair what it was that she came there to talk
about. She hesitated, then began to tell him about her conversation with
Miles. He stopped her and didn't want to hear anything more about Miles.
"It's over," he said, referring to his missing son. As Blair tried to get
Todd to listen to her, John arrived and asked to speak with Blair. Todd
walked off with the mock-up, but Blair stopped him and told him that his son
was alive and living in Llanview ... with Marcie and Michael.
